im so unserious ab my kotlc ships. w/ every other fandom im there piecing together bits of canon to prove there was something real. but with kotlc is like. sure. anything goes. those 2 personalities sound fun together, who cares if they haven't had a solid interaction in 3 books.

HAVE YOU EVER DRAWN THESE GUYS?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sooooo idek where to begin with this. I'll start by saying that yes I contacted Rebornica/Bones/Voltergeist and bought two of their old FNAF au designs. Those being Scott/Phone Guy and Jeremy. Before I get into anything I feel like I'm obligated to address Volt's past and let it be known that I do not Care about a mentally ill teenager faking other disorders or aggressively yelling at people to stop copying them or whatever other overdramatic thing they did like a decade ago and I don't think buying from them is anywhere near comparable to "supporting problematic people" compared other designers who are like homophobic or whatever the fuck else, and I'm not here to talk about or argue about "the ethics" of me giving Volt money. So jot that down before you even start typing.
I'm here to ask if anyone here has drawn art of Scott/Phone Guy and Jeremy so that i may save it and add it to their toyhouse galleries. You'll see they both currently have like 100 pieces in their galleries right now but I know that's not even scratching the surface. Theres just so much of it It's overwhelming to look for. Theres also issues of these designs being so popular to the point of people making their Own personal redesigns of them. And it starts to muddy up which art belongs to me or not. This isnt toooo much of a big deal with Jeremy as the giant "?" on his face makes him pretty distinct and easily recognizable as The Guy That I Own. But this becomes a problem with Phone Guy specifically. He is... pretty much The design that everyone draws him as regardless of if they intend for it to be Rebornica fanart or not. People use this design in their own AUs, people use this design as their own OC. Theres so so so so so much art of people labeling their art as "heres my phone guy design!" and its just the Rebornica design. And I don't feel comfortable or really have the heart to save anything that people consider to be theirs even if its literally the design that I own x__x It's just a bit hard when you own a design that is considered canon enough to a real video game to the point where people just. Take him. and there's nothing I can do about that. And it's not something that upsets me tbh because I knew this was an issue when I Bought him. Literally all I want to know is what art I can or can't save and upload to their archives lmao. So I figured asking people to send me their art directly would help reduce the chance of me just taking someone else's art that they didn't intend to be My phone guy. Not even counting the fact that a popular FNAF fan game called Dayshift At Freddy's has their own version of phone guy that ALSO had the red rotary phone head but wears a black business suit. So, any art of That One isnt mine.
But anyway yeah! And just know i'm looking for literally anything involving these guys. Digital art, traditional art, gifs, animations, physical/irl art, doodles, comics, fanfic, cosplays you made, even weird misc stuff like ponytown designs for them, literally anything and everything!!
also because i keep getting asked about it, Vincent, shadow vincent, mike, vendetta, mahogany, faith, captain, vex, sheriff, fritz, hocus, and boss have also all been sold and multiple different people own these guys now. and for vincents owner specifically, i will not be giving out their username as they Do Not Want To Be Contacted About It.
im cross-posting this on multiple websites so feel free to reach out anywhere where its most convenient for you. reblogs are appreciated for reach

As an ace attorney trilogy enjoyer and a GAAC fan too, I have to ask..... does. Does aa4 get better. Its not phoenix or apollo I dislike, I just feel like the tone and overall case quality is such a massive departure from everything else Ive played so far and I see so much apollo and gavin fanart and I feel like Im missing something or need to push through or something
i was absolutely sold on ace attorney 4 from the first case so i really can't say for sure if you're gonna enjoy anything else down the line. if you're not enjoying the characters on the merit of their own personalities/if youre not interested in the events underlying the game i'm honestly not sure what the appeal is for Any part of these franchise. I find apollo and klavier both really charming and fun to watch. I enjoyed the tone shift, and thought it was a fun way to sort of age the series.
Despite liking apollo, i will say he really suffers for the fact that he doesn't have much of an arc or a ton of agency in this game. AA4 is a great setup for some really compelling stuff you could do with this character, but the fact that all of the aa4 plotlines were fully abandoned just means that you kind of get narratively blueballed with him + klavier specifically. Klavier definitely has more stake in this plot and a stronger throughline than apollo, but there's a lot more we would have needed from him to use him to anywhere near his full potential.
obviously my favorite character is phoenix and im the kind of person who pretty much exclusively engages with stuff from the lens of Whats My Favorite Guy Up To so i came out of aa4 super super invested in the dynamic between him and trucy, and his subplot with kristoph. like im eating that shit up. IMO aa4 is kind of about anyone But apollo when push comes to shove. There's more i could say about the way i think that helps/hinders thing in equal measure but that's a different post.
basically... if youre not liking it it might just not be for you? do you think its bad because it's executing itself poorly or do you think its bad because you want it to be more like the trilogy? my go-to for any piece of media is to try and buy what i'm being sold 100%, and i think if you go into ace attorney 4 without wanting it to be the trilogy it has a lot to offer

Doujin anon here, i think i was confused about what "Doujin" means since i had presumed it had just meant "fan manga" for awhile. While thats technically true partially, upon looking at the definition again it could also apply into other mediums as well. Does this mean all of those mspa fanadventures technically count as doujinshi or no? Idk, i didn't even know the proper terminology of the word for awhile correct me if im wrong I'm not savvy with Japanese terms. Like the other anon said, i was one of those people who didn't know what Japanese people meant by "cp" like i knew it didn't have any relation to you know what, but due to the language barrier i couldn't figure it out on my own. Ex: rkgk means sketch right? should probably look into a guide about the Japanese abbreviations and definitions for this stuff.
In a way, yes. Doujin itself means a group of people who share a hobby or interest. It's their word for fandom. Not to be confused with circle, which means a group of people (or even an individual person itself), selling doujin works as a team. Though not all Japanese people on places like Pixiv tag fanarts, as doujin 同人 when they upload it. Doujin also refers to works that started out as original comics, games, and more sold in Comiket that soon became professional works. Things like Touhou or Higurashi started out as an original game that was sold in Comiket, blew up in popularity as time went on. You can even think doujin games sold at Comiket like the ones mentioned here, as indie games. RKGK is the abbreviation for rakugaki, which means doodle or scribble in Japanese. Japanese artists tag this when they drew the art as said doodle or scribble to pass the time that it's not considered as art pieces to them. Most of the time though, I think said doodles make a great art piece alone. If you try telling them that, they get embarrassed and try to be humble. But please give them praises to let them know they are amazing! I don't blame you on the language barrier thing. Eastern fandom culture is different from the Western. When Japan does consume Western media, they take it as it is, a fictional media work. Compared to Western, who would think works from the past that were made in its time period, is problematic and should never be brought up again. Japan would know about the dark histories for some, but they also believe the intent for similar themes or topics that would be shown for upcoming or future works, is not out of maliciousness most of the time. The past is past and they would rather move on. With some exceptions based on country's personal history, but that's a whole other can of worms. The Japanese fandom also tend to be only exclusive to themselves. The relation between Eastern and Western fandom were not on good terms back then due to things like people reuploading Pixiv art and putting Nico Nico Douga videos on sites like YouTube, without permission. They even have applications for private community groups to make sure the person they are speaking to is Japanese and not some Western using a translator to sneak in and do things like download MMD models before releasing them back into public. Recently, Pixiv states that whatever country you are in, some content will not be shown there, to comply with other country's laws such as Europe's. Sites like Twitter/X already are banning stuff that's fine in Japan in order to follow Western standards. It's why sites like Misskey state that Japanese customs and beliefs towards certain media is different from America and Europe. If these bad communications and censorship keep going on, it won't be long until Japan finally decides all their works will only be Japanese exclusive and isolate themselves again. To the point they might even see if Western users are might be using VPNs to sneak in and block them. We really got to acknowledge the different fandom customs and cultures in various countries and languages. A Spanish community fandom will be different from something in English speaking ones. Not all groups have dark intentions. Only speak up if a person or group starts to get harmed because of it. And I don't mean like getting offended over a drawing someone stumbled upon by accident. I mean like someone harming themselves or anything truly legal involved.

Do you need art to have meaning? A teacher and I were talking about art as career (lol) and she mentioned "oh the meaning behind your art will sell it" lIke uh there isn't one, I just draw pretty boys
NO KDFGNFK:DNG at least, i don’t think so . you should draw and paint to your hearts content !! and for some people that means drawing according to some “profound meaning” and to others its just drawing what they think is pretty. its kinda the same with tattoos imo. i feel like a lot of people expect you to have a reason for getting one, but sometimes u just want it because it looks cool and/or makes u happy !
i find that the reason i paint x or y is because theres some element that i want to try to capture. i want to see how i can push myself in different ways, and that usually results in me drawing really different subject matters. a jar of pickled peppers to study light refraction one day and turtle shells to work on building texture the next. i mean. ive never sold my art before so i wouldnt know but like. people can always speculate and i don’t think they’ll ever know if there was an intended meaning or not; it’s always down to how you market yourself, apply your strengths, and so on. again, its probably different since i’ve also (obviously) never had a career in art but? when i buy a piece, i buy it bc its pretty and i like the technique/style/imagery. or when i walk through a museum, i always stop at the ones that catch my eye. trying to find meaning is such a pointless and abstract process that i, personally, don’t care much about KJDKDJG.
but YEAH. . thats me w fanart. i very rarely have any reason im kjust like. wow this character is rly pretty *draws them, only them, & nothing else*

Wash for the ship meme! (dadbodsandbots)
@dadbodsandbots
-What made me like them
sometimes when you’re like 12 and have been officially diagnosed with PTSD for three years you see a cranky space marine that also has PTSD and you just heavily imprint on them, you know? it happens to the best of us
-My favorite thing about them
i flashback to The Discourse about it but tbh wash saying ‘fuck it im evil now’ for a little while was incredibly sexy of him. mostly because it was just....coming from such a sense of desperation and indignation? he knew it was fucked up hargrove was trying to pin all the freelancer shit on him and it was obvious it was retaliation for wash destroying the base rather than trusting that the UNSC would do shit fuck about it.
also, the ultimate fan guide or whatever mentions that the UNSC literally sold soldier’s contracts to project freelancer to get rid of problems and make a buck so like yeah NO SHIT wash wasn’t gonna trust them!!! lmao @ hargrove square up you musty bald bitch!!!
-Nicknames we have for each other
i used to call him D when we were kids, but it’s usually just wash any more. rarely do i use david. he’s not that big on petnames either, really.
 -A headcanon of our relationship/friendship
sam is the one that eventually points out that wash and i’s relationship was not as rosy as we both liked to think it was. it’s like, months and months if not a year two after the shooting and the time travel and all that, enough time for sam to have been kind of just observing silently without interfering, and enough time for him to realize whenever wash and i talk about how “oh we always come back to each other uwu” it’s basically just...... talking about how i had/have a very one sided dependency on him and him unknowingly taking advantage of that because he knew no matter where he went or how long he was gone, i would always want to be right back by his side.
so we end up having to do some evaluating eventually, because oof.
 -My favorite image of them
i used to have a gif of him throwing that knife at meta, that’s it. also this one old ass fanart piece that i cannot fucking find god. rifp.
 -Anything else!
when the reds and blues end up on iris it’s the first time wash and i are together in a while, and it’s also the longest time we’re together without him having to leave, ever.
i’m not fucking happy when the message from temple gets to them and they run off to find church, and i’m less happy when sam shows up a few weeks later to tell me wash has been shot and is almost dead.
