I have a small bone to pick with the DR1 chapter 3 investigation. Why are they insisting that Hiro is the ONLY one that could fit into this Robo Justice costume? 'Cause like I think that's blatantly false. I understand why they're saying Hina, Kyoko, Celeste, Toko, and Makoto can't fit into it, they're all much smaller and differently shaped and it would've been much too big on them. And also Sakura, she's taller and bigger and more muscular and it would've been too small for her. (And Taka and Hifumi are the dead ones, so they don't count.)

But Byakuya is of a relatively similar size and shape to Hiro. He's a mere inch taller, and though he's got a skinnier build, he's only a few pounds lighter than Hiro. Like...that's not that much of a difference. Like, depending on the fit of clothing, those boys could share clothes, that's how close that size difference feels to me. Or at the very least, even if Hiro couldn't fit into Byakuya's clothes, Byakuya could absolutely fit into Hiro's clothes without much issue.

All this to say that there's no way they can definitively claim that Byakuya can't fit into the Robo Justice costume if it's made for someone Hiro's size. Maybe it would be a tad bit loose, or maybe his legs would be slightly long, but I think he would fit in it well enough.

And like, after Hina tried on the costume and Hiro insisted a boy should try it on because it would be a better fit on a boy, why in the world did Byakuya tell Makoto to try it on rather than doing it himself?! Makoto is practically the exact same size as Hina, him trying it on wouldn't make a difference! Byakuya, don't you have eyes? I know you can tell just on sight that you are the closest in size to Hiro and you trying it on would be the best gauge for whether or not the costume ONLY fits Hiro.

So, in conclusion, I say that the claim that only Hiro could've fit the Robo Justice costume is a false one, because I think Byakuya could've fit into it, he and Hiro are close enough in size that it could have worked. And the fact that Byakuya didn't even try it on when he was the OBVIOUS choice to do so makes no sense

What's the canon FTE theory, explain it in full detail, rant, ramble!!! :0

okay so basically canon FTE theory is the theory that all FTEs have a spot in the canon that takes place over the course of Trigger Happy Havoc to some capacity, whether they happen with Makoto or not. Each character has specific characters they speak to in order for these FTEs to carry out as well, aligning with the events of the game.

For example, Toko's FTEs would canonically be carried out with Makoto, as immediately after maxing out the Toko FTEs you "lose" a potential FTE slot to Toko approaching Makoto specifically to wingman for her with Byakuya, even going so far as to say that she hopes Makoto will know the feeling of being in love one day, something exceedingly out of character for her at this point in time unless there's been an active effort to get to know her.

Another good example of this would be Sakura's FTEs, which would almost definitely be carried out with Hina. Her FTEs consist of her slowly opening up about the history of her martial arts training and eventually talking about her relationship with Kenshiro, all stuff that would be shared with an extremely close friend. And considering that not only do we know for a fact Hina and Sakura spend a lot of one-on-one time together during the game, they also canonically have entire sleepovers and Sakura admits to having considered admitting being the traitor to Hina in chapter 4.

Mondo's FTEs were most likely spent with Taka, during and after the sauna incident. Though to be honest, his first one probably could've happened even before then. The idea of Taka panicking at the idea of getting on a delinquent's motorcycle and Mondo fucking with him a little bit fits their dynamic pre-sauna.

I'm pretty sure Sayaka's, Toko's, Kyoko's, Jack's and Byakuya's all happen through Makoto. I'm still debating on some of the placements for the others, but I'm fairly confident a good few (Chihiro, Sakura, Hiro) happen through Hina specifically. Mukuro's are the only FTEs that likely don't happen at all, but that's purely because we know for a fact they happen in DR: IF and are only completable in school mode anyway.

Obviously I don't think they all translate over 1:1 but I think the major points of the FTEs are likely things the characters would've expressed to the people they felt closer to. Like, did Celeste yap to Hifumi about the magic of luck they both had? No, because Makoto is the one who's got the title Ultimate Lucky Student. Do I think she'd let him exist around her long enough to earn his undying loyalties and falsely declare him C Class? Absolutely. That's basically the idea of FTE theory; not a perfect translation, but the FTEs exist to give us an idea of what's happening in the characters' heads we as an audience wouldn't get to see ourselves. I'll list who I think goes with who for reference

Kaede for sure. It was only possible to trace back to her because she specifically steered the group towards discovering her guilt. I'll be honest with you here chief. I love Kirumi so much. The fact she didn't just strangle Ryoma and leave him in the sink drives me NUTS. Literally what was stopping her. Nothing led back to her. There was no reason to make it so complicated. Goddamn girl

Tokyo is noisy, busy, and bright during the night. The streets are packed with people moving rapidly from one place to the other –so packed, so clustered, so asphixiating–. Gen walks the streets after finishing a show, and all he feels in amidst all these people is a desire to rip them to shreds, maybe that way they'll stop being so close, maybe that way they'll stop bumping their shoulders with his', and maybe that annoyingly sweet smell will stop filling his nostrils... Wait.

'Sweet'.

Yes, such a sweet desirable scent comes from someone walking in front of him. He sniffs the air discreetly, is tough to pinpoint the exact source of the smell, but he tries anyway, following the scent mindlessly. He hears –feels– the rumble in his stomach, it has been quite some time since he last had a decent meal. The person he's following has ended up in the train station, he managed to get in the same wagon, so Gen has finally discerned who smells so deliciously sweet. A young man accompanied by another mildly older –father and son, perhaps–, such strange hair, it spikes upwards. And big crimson eyes –like his blood must be–. He stands at a prudent distance from where they sit, watching from the corner of his eye to their very move. When they get down he follows them, again, several steps behind, and watches them enter an apartment complex, he sees lights getting turned on. Gen makes a note of where they live, and goes back where he came from.

The boy's name is Ishigami Senkuu.

It's been three days, and he follows the boy home, trying to learn his routine. So far it is simple, home, school, somewhere high with two friends –and a miniature rocket?–, home, ramen shop, school again. The teen had a small social circle, and only one parent.

'Easy prey'

On the fourth day, the boy leaves school late, no friends nor father around him. The sun has already gone down, his steps back home are predictable.

'A perfect chance'

Senkuu takes a turn into a especially dark corner, and Gen speeds up to catch him off guard from behind. As soon as Gen turned the corner he found Senkuu waiting for him. This shocks him, but recovers quick.

"Why are you following me?"

"To kill you, my dear~!" he sings, and pounces, hand first to grab Senkuu's throat.

But the other boy was faster, and hit the skin of Gen's wrist with a taser, updated it seemed, since the vampire fell to his knees, the electric current cursing through him. Panting, he still got to grab Senkuu's ankle with his unharmed hand. Senkuu was startled, that shock should've knocked him out cold, instead the other only smiled at him from the ground.

"How feisty"

Senkuu tried turning on his heels to run, but Gen was faster, knocking the taser out of his hands, grabbing him by the neck and slaming him against the brick wall, effectively difficulting the air flow in the boy's lungs. Now, uncertainty –fear– shone in his eyes, it tainted the air around them. Gen grins as he kissed the other's lips softly, turning his head to fit in the crook of Senkuu's neck, and bit –hard– into flesh, blood filling his mouth –such a delicious taste–, it was so sweet.

"Argh" he whined, pained.

However, Gen could now hear people approaching. Reluctant, he lets go of the teen and runs for it, dissapearing into the dark.

Things could've been worse.

It was almost a week since he'd been attacked, he inspected the two small openings in his neck turning purple-green on the mirror; they were the only proof he had left. There had been rumours about it, but he had dismissed it as an urban legend going around to scare the youth. Something about people that seemed to be attacked by vampires. It was illogical –unrealistic– to believe in something of the sort. Yet, a man who withstood a taser twice as strong than the normal ones, had sunk his fangs into his neck, and drank –he could feel it–, swallowed up –he could hear him– his blood.

If he weren't so convinced that the other wanted him dead, he could even be excited about trying to study someone like that. He sighed and left the bathroom to enter his room, so he could plop down –face first– into his bed.

"Senkuu-chan~!" sings a voice at the door.

And he recognizes it inmediately. He tries to get up, only to be pushed down, a hand held his head in place against the mattress.

"Now, now, be a good boy and be still" he orders.

And Senkuu complies. Byakuya won't be home until a few more hours, he tries desperately to think of a way out, his phone is in the nightstand, if he could reach it he can call the authorities. The vampire flips him over, holding his throat –again– instead of his head, both of his legs straddle him. He knows this face, why does he know this face?

"Don't even think to scream, I'll crush your throat~!" he warns.

And it clicks. 'Asagiri Gen'. The magician. He wrote some trashy book about psicology.

"You gonna kill me so fast?" he smirks, trying to be defying, but the trembling in his voice betrays him.

"I should, you've seen me twice now" Gen muses. "But your blood is truly a feast, it's such a shame to just kill you" he licks his lips.

Senkuu shudders.

"Perhaps I should keep you locked up somewhere to drink from you. But that sounds like too much of a hassle"

"Then how about a deal" Senkuu offers quickly.

The vampire's brow lifts at this, interested. The white-green haired boy does his best to come up with a beneficial arrangement for him.

"How about I give it to you? Huh? My blood, once a week you can drink it. I won't say anything. Won't tell anyone"

"Hmm. And what do you want from me? After all, a deal involves a sort of equivalent exchange, does it not?"

"Let me study you!" he blurts out, since he has the chance, might as well take it. "You're a vampire, right? Well, I'm a scientist and I'm intrigued by that"

He gauges Gen's reaction. He softens the grip on his throat, to run his fingers over his bruised injury, humming.

"I'm not some lab rat, Senkuu-chan~!"

"I won't treat you as one" he promises.

Gen's gaze goes from his neck, to his red eyes. He holds his gaze for agonizingly long seconds, until he smirks and leans down, to kiss his lips again, tilting his head to bite into the marks Senkuu bore –reopening them–, drinking once more. It lasts a minute –perphaps two–, until Gen lets go, and licks his neck all the way up to his earlobe.

"Once a week" he whispers.

He left as he entered; without a sound.

True to his haste word. Senkuu didn't treat Gen like a lab rat, nor some kind of experiment.

Gen lays on his bed, playing with his phone, his black uneven hair spilled on the pillow, his legs spread leisurely above the covers. The epitome of a lackadaisical persona. Gen notices him staring and smiles –his closed lipped smile– sweetly.

"See something you like, Senkuu-chan?"

"What are you doing with my phone?" he deadpans.

"Playing, of course~!" he says as if it is the most obvious thing in the world.

Senkuu's eye twitches. Ding. The results for Gen's DNA test are done. So he checks that out instead of paying attention to the vampire. It seems normal, except from a few tweaks here and there that made it obvious the blood wasn't entirely human. 'What kind of genetic mutation would cause this?' he ponders. But he can always analize it with more detail, when the blood's owner isn't invading his personal espace. He turns in his chair and walks over to sit at the edge of the bed, undoing the first button of his shirt to better reveal his throat –where two small indentions reside, no longer bruised–.

Gen smirks, he kisses Senkuu and drinks his fill for this week.

"Why do you always kiss me?"

It's been two months since their arrangement was made, and Senkuu is against the wall, Gen's hands on his waist, nose touching nose right before the usual peck on the lips. The vampire stops a few milimeters aways from him, peeking at him underneath his long eyelashes.

"'Cause you taste so sweet" he purrs.

And he kisses him, more than just a feather touch this time. This time there's a soft tongue invading his mouth, an intrusive leg getting in between his', and Gen's chest so close he can feel his heartbeat through the fabric of his shirt. There's tongue, teeth, lips, saliva, and Gen tastes oddly like cola –so sweet–, he truly likes sweet things. Senkuu sighs, draping his arms on Gen's shoulders.

'Is this what it feels like to sell your soul to the devil?' Senkuu wonders.

Things could be worse.

Five months of their arrangement, and Senkuu lies his head on the vampire's chest –he's fallen asleep–, as the later plays with the gravity defying locks. It's almost night, the sun's eagerness to go to bed turned everything in purple-pink hues. The vampire wonders when exactly did things became like this. Senkuu sighes in his slumber. He decides it doesn't matter, they're fine the way they are now.

Moans. Such a lovely sound when it comes from the scientist's mouth. They're bare, skin touching skin, lips meeting lips, fingers tangled on hair, a mess of heat and softness, and desire. Seven months, and they share a bed. Seven months, and they know each other so well, it's like reading their own palms. Seven months, and they're finally having sex.

Until good hearted Byakuya –God bless his soul–, enters Senkuu's room.

Things could, can, and will, be worse. It's the law of Murphy.

Update on playing Danganronpa with my partner

Law of averages would say this motherfucker can't guess the correct culprit every time.

This man defies averages apparently.

Infuriating.

Now we're on DR2 and just about to play the first trial and he's already figured out that Teruteru did it ("he's the only one small enough to fit under the floorboards AND he would've been there before Byakuya checked everybody and could've easily planted a weapon!"). He also has caught on that something's up between Fuyuhiko and Peko. That'll be a fun trial for him.

(I know he's not looking up spoilers btw, he's been wrong about enough other things that I know he's just theorizing and figuring shit out. But man, it's frustrating)

Part 2: Goodbye Despair

Hajime: Weird weird weird. NOT his color and that design is a. questionable choice

Nagito: I really don't feel like blue is his color? Like this outfit looks kind of too Put Together Nagito has to be at least a little disheveled. Slight points back for being trans colored here though

Ultimate Imposter: Ok first before the stuff with their outfit their neck is drawn so weirdly. Like you can sort of see it here but even more in other sprites that the artists don't know how to draw fat people. Aside from that this outfit looks. Not great. I don't see why they should have to be mimicking Byakuya here. This is like Mukuro two except that unlike Junko Byakuya has bad taste

Gundham: Okayyyy but they could do more. Seeing this I think "why does he have so much less clothing weighing him down I bet he's understimulated". He needs a big jacket.

Kazuichi: I really like this one! Something about the neon colors + how the fabric folds make it look thin and cheap, which fits with his thing of not having money. Also, it's just neat aesthetically

Teruteru: I hate this guy but this is very good character design and I'm mad about it

Nekomaru: In character. His design always makes me think of Spirit Halloween somehow and this is no exception

Fuyuhiko: I'm annoyed they didn't give him a jacket. Iirc he's never been shirtless before, even in omakes where every1 else is, saying he doesn't want people to see if he has tattoos. But that absolutely helped fuel my transmasc headcanon for him so showing him here shirtless (flatchested and with no tattoos) is a tad annoying. Also this swimsuit makes him look like he's the type of rich person who plays tennis

Akane: She wore this in the actual game but it looked bad then and still does now. Her 🤝 Nagito why do they think light blue is your color it's not. Also I feel like an ultimate gymnast would be more muscular

Chiaki: Pretty and matches with her pastel aesthetic. I like it

Sonia: I really can't imagine her in all pastel pink it doesn't really feel formal or regal enough. Like this gives off little mermaid-y princess vibes as opposed to actual ruler princess vibes

Hiyoko: Baby girl. Baby. This outfit is ok and I like how her suit has a cat design like her hairclips. Main critiques here are that a) she feels underdressed and b) her bows are the same color as her suit in some sprites but not others which really bothers me.

Mahiru: I never quite understood Mahiru's design aesthetically and I'm not sure I do here either but it? Kind of works in a strange way??? Pls be careful with your camera near the water though beloved

Mikan: >:( This is the most underwear-looking swimsuit yet COME ON. We can do better I'm SURE good menhera-y swimsuits exist

Ibuki: Cute! I like it and think it works with her aesthetic <3<3<3

Peko: Eh not big on this. I feel like she'd probably prefer something more covering given how her normal outfit shows so little skin. They could've at least made the ribbons on it white to match in her hair and on her sword case

Izuru: Yeah he'd wear this and it's fine. However, I can't shake the idea of him just. Showing up to the beach in his normal suit and tie out of my head I feel like he'd do that

Absolutely fitting/in character, except that I don't get why Usami's outfit would be different here than in dr2 since that's already beach-y but like. Whatever I'm getting too nitpicky

Additional note: I wish Ryoko could've been here. Ik she's not as well known but if both Hajime + Izuru can be here both her + Junko should be able to be here. Let it never be said I don't pick favorites

Bored so I'm stating my thoughts on every DRS swimsuit sprite

(Part 1: THH)

Makoto: it's like. Fine lol. Kind of generic but totally fits with his "totally average high school student" thing

Taka: Accurate. Next.

Byakuya: Torn between "this looks stupid" and "it's Byakuya we're talking about here, of course he'd wear something stupid and think it would make him look more refined ". Like this looks bad but it's absolutely in character

Mondo: Eh. Feels almost kinda young for him but I don't really have any better ideas and it does fit his color scheme well

Leon: Vibe feels vaguely off™ somehow but I couldn't tell you how. I'll take it ig

Hifumi: Fitting. No actual complaints here to speak of

Hiro: I guess I get what they were going for but this is too patterned and also not his color scheme at all. Maybe I'm just saying this bc I think orange and green basically never match but yeah

Chihiro: BEAUTIFUL AMAZING SHOWSTOPPING PERFECT. My favorite outfit so far. Dr may have utterly failed in basically every aspect of Chihiro's writing but they did not fail with this outfit she looks amazing

Sayaka: This looks dumb sorry. Idk what they were going for but like. Why. The top and bottom of her suit don't even match? (Admittedly her hair being draped over her shoulders weirdly like that is just for this sprite not all of them but still)

Kyoko. Like. Technically it's better than Sayaka's aesthetically in that at least it matches with itself and her hair ties (in most of the sprites at least. For some reason they're discolored in this only fullbody one.). Still. The thing about me is that I have trouble imagining Kyoko wearing literally any feminine clothing ever so I see this and my mind just goes "OOC" even though she literally also dresses fem in canon

Hina: Worst one yet. She's literally ultimate swimmer why would she wear this it's impractical and dumb. Also the color scheme is soo different from the normal desaturated red+white+blue she normally wears. The bandaid is an ok touch but that's the only good thing about this design

(I'm sorry Toko's expression is like that; this is the only close-to-fullbody DRS sprite on the wiki)

Toko and Syo (kind of the same outfit so I'll judge it together): I really like this one! Toko having a skirt thing so no one can see her tallymarks but Syo taking it off is a good touch. I wouldn't have thought of blue as her color but it actually really works (and reminds me of Komaru's uniform...)

Sakura: Cute! Tbh a bit more frilly/cutesy than I would have expected but she looks nice :)

Celeste: SECOND FAVE AFTER CHIHIRO I <3 IT. Generally Celeste's aesthetic fucks so hard (only tiiiiny criticism I have is that the lace on her suit would look nicer if it was matching in size with that on her headdress)

Junko: Why so plain??? Like it really doesn't seem to fit with the gyaru aesthetic at all (admittedly I don't know much about said fashion subculture though so I def could be wrong it just looks very different to my eye). Like I feel like this is what Hina should have worn it looks like smth actual swimmers would wear in a race

Mukuro: REAL LIXED FEELINGS HERE. On the one hand, this is very fitting for someone pretending to be the ultimate fashionista; you've perfectly captured that vibe. On the other hand, why should she have to pretend to be Junko in this context whyyy. (So like generally this aesthetic is good but the "Mukuro is butch" part of my brain is NOT a fan she shouldn't have to wear that)
