oooh ok so thats another one that, when i reread it, i’m a little unhappy with. i think the first fic (odyssey of recollection) is pretty solid and i’m happy with it, but the sequel sort of falls flat to me, personally. like the time travel fic, i think i was trying to write in a world that i’d only JUST read about, so some parts are like :/ a little rough. THAT SAID, i’m really happy with the writing in the odyssey of recollection, especially the memory and video parts! a fun fact…hmmmm i have many tbh. for this series specifically, i actually considered a longer semi ridiculous fic from the pov of daniel’s daughters, bc that is a genre of fic that never gets old to me lol. i ended up just doing the reddit post fic, which kind of checked the boxes for me, but i was originally going to make it a whole narrative thing!! i think their relationship with daniel is really interesting, and also their relationship with armand in this fic. fun to rotate in my mind, but never made it to paper, lol

Fortnite (yup)

I was bored one day. I said “lets give this a genuine try” and so I did. I gotta say this game was actually fun for a bit. For the first 30-40 hours of playing, i actually had fun, and came back to it regularly. But afterwards it just kinda became stale and repetitive. 

So the good things first: sniping is incredibly satisfying. I love looking at someone, ages away and killing them with a headshot. Very satisfying. I think building is a really interesting mechanic and adds a level of meta to the game.  I basically found out that you can’t go pro if you’re not a good at building. I’m not good at building at all so.....im never going pro unfortunately. Personally, and this is just a me thing, but I use motion controls on the regular. Splatoon really made me appreciate and love motion controls and I love that fortnite did not disappoint in delivering motion controls. Although it is a bit wonky when sniping at times. 

The bad/stale: This game gets very stale. For, 40% of my games, there were time intervals of 3-5 minutes where Nothing would be happening at all. I would just be running and then maybe see another person, miles away. I think one of the worst feelings is having nothing happen for like 5 minutes and then dying to a sniper headshot 7 million miles away from a person hiding in a bush. Thats not really fun, but I guess i have to respect the shot? Another thing that makes this stale the fact that I land in the same couple of spots everytime i play. If you land on one of the far reaching parts of the map, chance are you’re not gonna see another player for ages and that isn’t really fun to me. That’s why I like to land in the places where everyone else lands just to get that adrenaline rush of surviving and killing people. Another thing i don’t like is that you can’t change the reticle of any gun. They’re all kinda weirdly shaped and all are different for each gun. Its really strange. Maybe this is just a timing thing but I started playing when the map was 50-60% water and that was not the funnest thing to deal with. Boats are kinda fun but also sorta broken?

This game is only fun when playing with a couple of people and i don’t have anyone to play it with lmao
