Been seeing ppl complain abt sonic's response to the "how's elise" question and bc I don't want to get annoyed at the writers making elise the butt of the joke again I'm choosing to interpret this as a post-reboot archie comics situation

As in characters (in this case sonic specifically) only remembered events from the erased/rewritten part of the timeline temporarily and slowly forgot abt them over time. Bc I love tragedy in my sonic stories

'exist' in some form #bc if they didn't i don't think the time eater would've been able to pull out crisis city and fucking *mephiles* to put them in white space #they're just kinda separate from the rest of the timeline. existing in a sort of time vacuum or something #anyways. i'm not really taking anything they say in the takeovers seriously bc they are not reliable sources for canon info #i'm just having fun and turning a bad joke into something i actually enjoy and sharing hcs and stuff
