Genuinely there's like two or three people out there who have whack ass one-sided beef with me specifically that are trying to make it seem like it's a morality thing and not just fandom pettiness and bigotry lol

like it's very telling that I'm getting weird bouts of anon hate for "reposting underage nsfw" art and not the person who... supposedly made the art i reposted. Or alternatively, people being upset that I've made NSFW of characters that are very clearly adults. I've unironically had people call Druid of all characters minor-coded before. yknow, the 1500 year old man. it's just silly. There are many, many people in this fandom who do the same brand of NSFW I do and no one is being this level of unhinged in their inbox. this is peak petty on full display

(also for the record, no, i havent reposted or made any underage anything. i've been pretty vocal about being squicked by loli/sho. i dont care if other people are into that but it ain't for me. even if i did like that type of content, that's... that's not... what being a pedophile is. if the bar is that low all the weebs of the world are in trouble).

My first thought was "low effort rage bait? on MY wi-fi?" because I'm hardly just "tolerated" by the fandom. if people didn't like me they would just say that, and plenty of people have before.

Im not here for a popularity contest, im here to be autistic about my blorbos. if i wanted to be popular I'd exclusively make fanart of the canon characters on twitter or do low-effort text posts with screenshots from the show (and i know that works cause I've done it before and WOW look at those notes)

but numbers /= meaningful interaction and I care about THAT much more. People do know what I do, of course they know I'm a freak, I don't keep it a secret, this aint news to anyone who follows me. Secrets imply I've got something I'm ashamed of, and that ship has sailed. I'm out of my people pleasing era and have been for years now. I may hide the specifics because, quite frankly, i dont see a point in flaunting the spicer stuff on main. But as far as my art and interests go, I'm an open book

The other thing is, the creator of this show is a freak. Every few years people find out about the Ed, Edd and Eddy art and lose their shit. That Amethyst and Sadie art? That was her. That Pearl x Greg art I shared on Twitter that was every chronically online lesbian's 9/11? Yeah she made that too. She literally reads my AU. the bar for freakiness in this fandom is on the fucking floor, dawg

But the reason I wanna talk about it is for the sake of other people who are following me, not just to satisfy this guy's weird hate-boner.

I'm sure that some people are seeing the stuff I'm getting sent and are scared to be more open about what they enjoy because they dont wanna deal with this kinda shit themselves. I have pretty thick skin at this point- after being online long enough you just have to- but not everyone is willing to take a pounding like that. I get it.

thing is, pretending to be "one of the good ones" is not gonna make those around you actually like you. They like the fake version of you, not the real you, and those kinda folks are not worth being around. it's best to rip off that band-aid sooner than later. In the moment it'll suck, but in the long run it's more than worth it. It's better to have a few ride-or-die friends than a large group of fair-weather friends. You may also find that there are folks out there who are more accepting and based than you think. I've certainly been surprised by a few!

the only people who send anon hate like this do it because something in their life sucks and they feel the need to take it out on others. ya ever notice that these type of people never show their face? it's cause they're scared. scared that they might actually have to step out on the front lines. scared they might have to get their hands dirty. By just just being out and open you've proven to be braver, bolder, and stronger than they will ever be.

Yuri HanaNene Headcanons

• Since I headcanon Boy!Hanako as transmasc I like to think Girl!Hanako would be transfem (it’s me, ofc I have to make all my headcanons as queer as possible)

• I also headcanon Nene as transfem so they’re still t4t in the Yuri HanaNene Universe (YHU)™️

• Hanako being a girl would definitely add a layer of complications to Nene’s feelings for her. She wouldn’t be thinking abt it in the heteronormative way of “he’s a boy so he probably likes me so I should give him a chance.” More likely she’d be freaking out at the idea of Hanako liking her because if she likes her back then that means something deeper for her personal identity

• Meaning that the Confession Tree chapter would center more around Nene having a sexuality crisis. She may have had some idea that she liked girls before, but now she’s having to seriously consider her identity and that’s scary for her (maybe Aoi’s advice to her is a bit more meaningful and we get some earlier hints that Aoi is also hiding parts of herself)

• But by the time she meets Hanako under the Confession Tree, she’s starting to wonder what it might be like to date a girl. It sounds intimidating, but also kind of nice. And just as she starts to open herself up to it, the confession turns out to be part of a scheme

• After 65 years Hanako has probably figured out her own sexuality, and since she had to repress that part of herself when she was alive (due to it being the 60s and all), she’s totally girl crazy and v much like the overly flirty Hanako we know in canon

• Nene already has enough reason to be secretive about her crush on Hanako due to her being a ghost but a girl as well?? There’s a lot riding on it

• That could give her something to connect with Kou over rather than his romance subplot being very separate from the rest of the cast and almost secretive. They both know about each other’s crushes and tease each other accordingly

• Imo Kou and Hanako would definitely still be just friends (girl or boy Hanako isn’t Kou’s type lol) but they’d still have those slightly flirty moments that they have in canon. Bicons

• Nene would initially be shocked that Hanako is so open about her interest in women, but that would eventually inspire her to accept her own sexuality

• True to the ASHK chapter, Nene would absolutely love giving Hanako makeovers. She does her hair up in different styles and lets her borrow her clothes

• Hanako’s defensive behavior whenever a man gets too close to Nene is more out of overprotectiveness than jealousy (tho that air of possessiveness is most definitely still there lol)

• In addition to writing poetry, Nene makes playlists about her crush on Hanako (wlw canon event)

• Nene tries to get Hanako to engage in “girl talk” abt their crushes but it always ends in Hanako flirting with her (cue a lot of blushing and “you’re not my type”)

• Since Nene is more affectionate with women I don’t think she’d mind Hanako’s clinginess as much

• In general Nene is a total girls girl and befriends women very easily so I think her and Hanako would get along better at first, but they’d still have that teasing nature of Nene bullying her that’s true to canon HanaNene (and every TBHK ship lol)

• I think their dynamic would be similar to Rae and Claire from I’m In Love With The Villainess. Hanako is very flirty at first and Nene thinks it’s just a joke, and at a certain point she’s just confused because she doesn’t think she’s lovable so Hanako must be joking. That would only be at the start of the manga tho, as I mentioned before the Confession Tree is a major turning point

• I could see Nene being very overprotective of Hanako in an “I’m the only one who’s allowed to talk shit about her” way

• Nene is bi with a preference for boys and Hanako is bi with a preference for girls. bi4bi t4t girlfriends

• At some point during the story they start sharing hair clips and regularly get into arguments over who lost one of them

• While Nene doesn’t initiate physical affection as much as Hanako, she does cling to her and hold her hands a lot more

• Matching hairstyles and outfits ofc

• Nene buys extra snacks/candies at lunch to share with Hanako after school

• Their feelings for each other are less obvious to others at first since they’re both girls but once they really fall for each other it’s impossible to mistake their relationship for friendship

• Picnic dates on the school roof

• Sometimes they slow dance when Nene has finished cleaning the bathrooms (Hanako’s not too good with romance so she takes these opportunities to make things magical for Nene)

The gist of this is that I'm very grateful every day my first encounters with hockey on here were primarily with kraken lb and sharks lb. You can stop here if you aren't in the mood for an essay LOL

I'm thankful in general for everyone who has ever welcomed me into their hockey spaces for giving me role models to emulate. I feel especially thankful after such a strange, off-putting experience in a new tag just now.

On the off-chance you're the person who took a screenshot of my post to tell me to leave your space and you're reading this: thanks for the chat, no hard feelings and no grudges held. If you're one of the people who uncritically reblogged that post... I can't tell you what to do with your blog but dog piling is a pretty good way to bully people and drive new fans, artists and gifmakers away from your community.

I'm not here to guilt people into being friends with me. and honestly, I don't want friends who would do that. I sincerely hope you grow and the next new fan you encounter gets a warmer welcome than I did. I know most people in the tag aren't like that, but I think I'll shelf that team for now. I take my cues from the way people in this tag treated me. The warm welcome is something I'll always think about, no matter how my relationship to the team and the community at large evolves over time. Sparking my interest in writing again, making new friends, and learning about The Beautiful Game was such a highlight during my summer last year. I am very very tender about this team and community. It’s hard to talk about them sometimes because it’s like… my feelings are so big <3 they are eating me like a soup dumpling. my head is being ripped off and my soupy insides are being sipped <- don’t know where i’m going with that....!

I confess I often feel overwhelmed and lost in the hockey tumblr space as someone who doesn’t participate in shipping/rpf and isn’t attracted to men, but I’ve never felt like people wanted me out because of it. Thank you for accepting me, and accepting the way I love this team and sport.

Tiny but mighty!! the kraken crossover likely contributed a lot to this, but I've met such amazing people in this tag. We may have different/conflicting opinions about non-sharks teams but we are united in our love for this flop train and my life is enriched by it. Somehow even smaller. Many of us don't have LAK as our primaries, and honestly why would we? The community tinyyy... and only recently we're coming back to life it seems. I really can count on two hands every active kings blog I've met and interacted with. I love our kings, our little family, our little liveblog tag. The way I follow LA is unlike how I follow any other team. they really are my eldest daughter, in that I am holding them to SUCH high standards. another small but close community. I'm so grateful I saw Adin Hill go ultra instinct and got interested in this team <3 aside from saving me a bit of heartbreak during the trade deadline, I've met amazing new people.

what's really special to me is how our community is small and safe. it is the safest I've felt in a hockey community. I am so happy our discord is place I can go to without fear of seeing one of my other teams/players randomly smeared, I love that it was started with the express intention to avoid simply repeating the unfiltered hatred we experience in other spaces. building with purpose, choosing to be kind... i think that's also something I want to take and run with in my own community building efforts. thanks for being bold enough to be different <3

Angel and Jean: Talked about it before, but it’s the only time I really enjoy Warren, admittedly. There’s just something about their dynamic that I like and I feel like Jean brings out the best in Warren/Warren legitimately seems to love Jean unselfishly and would be a much healthier relationship…

Logan and Mariko: It’s the only relationship of Logan’s that I like, despite it being forgotten. I really liked how Mariko brought out a gentler side in Logan.

Cipher and Psylocke: I KNOW it’s problematic

Kitty and Cipher: He OBVIOUSLY had a crush on her

Kitty and Karma: The less popular Kitty ship. While I DO love Kitty and Illyana…I think Karma forced Kitty to grow up a bit and I liked that! Also I don’t know if I would want to risk Kitty losing her friendship with Illyana over a relationship…

Jubilee was madly in love with Everett and I feel bitter that if we weren’t going to get him back with Monet, this should have been the next best thing. They really suit one another perfectly!

Anole and Striker: Let Victor have a long term boyfriend!

Analysing Why Williza Wouldn't Have Worked Out Through The Lens of a Pop Song

Hey, hi, hello!

This is not a post for the Willizas lol

I have no idea how many Stela Cole fans are among the Scarleteers, or, well, the ScarNashers.

This, I know it's a surprise, is not about Patrick and Eliza for once, but Eliza and William, though not in the best light, if that makes up for it, folks.

Stela has a new song called Blood Orange Wine and the lyrics kind of reminded me of Eliza's and William's relationship and how it lowkey went up in flames.

(I do feel I should acknowledge that, as far as I know, Stela's song is about a toxic relationship, which I don't think Eliza's and William's was, but if some of the lyrics fit, what can ya do?)

For your enjoyment:

1, just the title, Blood Orange Wine, itself: Eliza likes to drink wine, not beer, although she does drink whiskey, but usually in the presence of men eg. William, Patrick and probably Moses too (gosh I miss him)

2, I know it wasn't this extreme in the show, buuuut He knew the reasons I was scared of love - she was scared of entering a relationship with William, and I think the the reasons for that are:

a, he was her only family outside of Ivy, if it didn't work out, she would absolutely lose him (which happened in the end, and she didn't really get to have a say in the matter)

b, he was the only person she had ever felt romantic feelings for up until then

c, she had never been in a relationship, whereas William had been known for dallying with actresses, hell, he even courted her childhood bully

d, his image of the wife he wanted to marry differed so much from who Eliza is as a person, and Eliza, rightfully, didn't want to change herself completely just to fit that image

3, Told me he'd catch me if I fell, then he went running off - he confessed his love then upped and left, aka ran off, even though they were supposed to stick together since they were practically family, especially post-Henry's death

4, Knife to my throat until I opened up - again, I don't mean it literally, but he confessed his love, probably knowing Eliza wasn't ready, especially with the bomb that he was leaving for a year

5, He left me bleeding, now I'm freaking out - in that he left her to her own devices in regards to:

a, working out her feelings

b, knowing she was struggling to get cases at Nash & Sons and that she would no longer have access to Scotland Yard the same way without him, even with Fitzroy there (it's a bit redeeming though that he knew Nash was back to help Eliza)

c, knowing she had suffered a probably traumatic experience of not knowing whether he would live or die after getting shot

d, freaking out, as in she is sulking, or as she calls it, brooding, which is totally understandable, in my opinion, looking at the circumstances

6, Oh, I'm losing my forever, he only lets me down

a, Eliza and William were supposed to be endgame (still, I'm glad it didn't happen), they were each other's "forevers" right until they weren't

b, he only lets me down - she had to manipulate him in order to get him to help her, even though she needed his help, it wasn't (just) about her ambition

7, Wrapped around his finger, now my finger's wrapped around this glass

a, remember how important it was whenever they held hands or even their fingers touched?

b, in season 1, she regularly used her more womanly red dress to get him to do what she wanted, aka had him wrapped around her finger, because he wouldn't have helped her earn a living otherwise

Honestly, the more I wrote for this, the angrier I got. I still love William as a character, but they kinda fucked up his whole arc. Respect to Stuart for leaving, even if it wasn't because he saw that this would lead nowhere.

All of this, I think, supports why Patrick is a much better match for Eliza, even just as a friend and partner, but also as a potential love interest.

While I have drawn the siblings profiles, and Brittany making some appearances, Imma tell you MORE information about them!! >:D

One quick thing: These four are my oldest ocs (along with two others but you don't know em eheheh) from 2020 and at the time of making them I had just found out what Helluva Boss is. These characters were very much inspired off of them, especially Cici and Brittany.

Let's start off with the youngest:

CICI

Like I said, she is the youngest being around 6-7 years old

Pronouns are she/her, I'll just say aroace since I don't picture her being in a relationship at her age-

Cici is part demon thanks to her mother, but hasn't developed horns or a tail yet.

However, she has some powers, that being super strength and flight!

She can't fly very high, although she is the strongest in the family; being able to lift around the same weight as a van full of people. The older you get, the weaker your powers would become; so their mother would have the weakest powers.

Cici swears more than Onika and Zeke, mainly because of her mother. She gets in trouble at school regularly for this. That and for throwing chairs around. And for biting teachers' ankles. She gets in trouble for a lot of things.

Like all children, she has tantrums at times. But, of course, hers tend to get more...violent. Usually ending up with someone breaking a bone or two.

For hobbies, Cici enjoys drawing, roleplaying with toys and making things (whether that's with Lego or metal scraps-)

She doesn't listen to music as much as her siblings do, but her favourite artists are Pharrel Williams and Five Finger Death Punch.

ONIKA

Onika is the middle child, being 15 years old.

Her pronouns are she/they, and they are also aroace.

Onika's powers aren't as strong as Cici's, but she can fly better and can piggy-back the weight of two adults.

Onika technically has a tail, but it's now a stub because a group of bullies cut it off.

Yeah. She was bullied when she was younger. She was jeered for being both demon and human, and neither species wanted to be friends with her.

This was also mainly because she had anger issues which caused her to have violent episodes if provoked enough, one time being she almost killed a teenager younger than her.

Luckily, she's gotten better now and is practically never violent. Except in Mariokart.

Onika is usually either hyperactive and energetic, or utterly lazy and unmotivated.

She desperately wants to get Maori tattoos like Zeke but her parents don't allow her.

She hates wearing skirts and having her hair down.

Onika doesn't have a lot of hobbies, but she enjoys trying new foods, skateboarding and playing the guitar.

Her favourite artists are AC/DC, Metallica, Twisted Sister and Iron Maiden.

I'm pretty sure I based the hair off of another character I saw online once, but I can't remember her name- all I know is that the hair isn't original:'D

ZEKE

Zeke is the oldest at 19 years old.

His pronouns are he/him and he's gay.

Zeke uses his powers the least and only really uses them for miniscule tasks around the house like moving a bed or fighting his sister.

Yeah. Zeke and Onika fight a lot, more physically than verbally, and it's usually for stupid reasons, like who rightfully had the bag of pretzels first.

Zeke has both a tail and horns (which are still growing).

He also has difficulty with keeping his body temperature warm, so he wears a lot of layers and a lot of black to keep in as much heat as possible.

He has Maori tattoos along the back of his left shoulder as well as part of the left arm, but rarely shows these to people.

Zeke has been teased by many to have a "baby face", which annoys him greatly.

He can be mostly found in his bedroom gaming, listening to music or curled up in a ball in bed.

He likes sleeping. A lot.

His favourite games to play are mainly action/shooter games (I'm not an expert in this department so feel free to decide which ones he likes playing) and occasionally likes to play RPGs.

His favourite artists are Green Day, Linkin Park and The Offspring.

BRITTANY

Brittany is also 19 years old and is best friends with Zeke.

Her pronouns are she/her and is an asexual lesbian.

She practically has no powers. She can float a little, but not much else.

Brittany is a very affectionate person and adores hugging, cuddling, complimenting and kissing people (non-romantically).

She also adores fizzy drinks and cats. She ADORES cats. And animals in general.

If she was to encounter a cat, whether that be an anthropomorphic one or not, she will give them double the amount of affection.

When Brittany's happy, she wags her tail about, shakes her hands and squeals. She does this quite often.

She can be extremely chatty and talkative and could go on for hours on end talking about almost anything.

However, Brittany is extremely clumsy and is prone to falling down the stairs, tripping, running into windows and/or getting her horns stuck in things.

Her hobbies are shopping, going to cafés and watching romcoms.

Her favourite movie is Love, Actually and her favourite artists are Ariana Grande and Twice.

grace gets the quintessential lesbian experience of 'friendship with gay undertones that ruined your life and you still think about'. diligently invited steph to youth group every week while they were 'friends' (she went Once and grace got So Excited and assumed it would happen regularly from then on. it did not. mayor lauter made her go.) i also remember how emotional you are in middle school........poor grace. trying so hard to be friends with someone who doesn't want that. and it just breaks her heart a little bit because she finally found someone who she thought tolerated her......... i think she probably starts manifesting a lot of control issues at this age because she is struggling so hard at socializing. she focuses on school and religion which are both organized and not confusing and have scripts to follow. she sucks up to teachers and studies and follows every rule. she also gets really depressed and autistic but the world is not ready for my grace depression fic (mostly because its entirely me projecting and i have not written any of it)

steph wants people to like her so she can copy their homework LOL. she does really feel bad for grace. but like. in the way that you pity roadkill. poor thing, but i am not going near it. passing thoughts. mostly she just tries to ignore her (as she ignores all bullying perpetuated by her friends). on her own she is probably rebelling for the first time. figuring out what clothes are cool. vaping in the bathrooms. i think like 10 people confessed to liking her on one of those 'hatchetfield middle school crushes' accounts or whatever and that gave her a huge ego boost. by the time they're going to highschool shes sort of established that shes at the top of the order just by virtue of who she hangs around, and she mostly ignores how they treat others. she's comfortable. why make waves?

so, it's no secret that i highly favour toge out of every character in jjk, but i promiseeeee it's (kind of) for good reason

like, he just seems so sweet, can you really blame me?? and him as your boYFRIEND??? sign me up 🤭

in terms of how you would treat each other, i feel like all of your classmates would be sick of just how much you love each other lol

like, they'll be sitting outside or training and look over to you and toge when neither of you have said anything for a while, only to see the two of you cuddling and sharing your food

however!!!! you both know the time and place to do such things, and often only engage in that sort of pda when you want to purposefully annoy the others (mainly maki) or when either of you is tired

the others won't admit it but they do sometimes find you two cute

you probably sneak away from your group of friends when you're all watching a film to just go to one of your rooms and relax (maybe do skin care or just chat about your days)

you both are a sort of therapy to each other, but in a healthy way where you can joke about it whilst being supportive of each other's struggles

sometimes, when toge is insecure about his cursed speech or how communication in general is sometimes a trouble for him, he'll come to you for cuddles (which you obvs give cos who wouldn't??) and just confirmation that he is enough

those times are when you both adore each other more than you thought was possible <33

apart from that,, i feel like you would organise, at least once a week, to go out together

whether that's just walking, or visiting a cafe, or getting lunch at a store, it's the day that you both have together and one where you get to actually act like your ages!!!

even though you both think it's a secret, the other students are more than aware that you go out but also don't care enough to tell anyone or stalk you two

like, with the whole thing with rika and her as his first love and her curse, yuuta is more than cautious when he recognises that he likes you

you'd probably have to make the first move: reassuring him that no, he wasn't going to curse you with his love and that you were more than okay with entering a relationship with him

he's still scared, but is also aware that if not now, when?

there's quite a few hurdles in your relationship to begin with

like,,, yuuta was basically isolated and bullied for a good part of his childhood and now?? it was a sudden leap (but obvs not unwelcome)

but once you two have overcome those problems and you're both more comfortable and secure when speaking to each other, your relationship really begins to blossom!! <33

you probably both spar and train together regularly

at first it was so that you could help yuuta quickly improve his combat skills, but it soon turned into you both helping each other out in certain aspects

another reason why you trained together so often was obviously so that you could hang out without the others questioning or being nosy about your relationship

with toge and panda, along with their curiosity, i could envision them trying to find out where you both were going and lowkey interrogating and cornering yuuta when he's getting ready (but in a joking way!!)

they often end up being chased away by maki who just wants both you and yuuta to be more confident in dating each other already

no matter her cause, both you and yuuta are thankful towards her lolol

when you do go out, i feel like you'd just go for walks in the local park and feel ducks, or something quite peaceful

with your lifestyles, i mean... you wouldn't complain if you both do something quite relaxing and calm for once

I am SO SO SO excited for this and for PhiNon I am READY let's GO!

LMAO Phi and Non met on Thai Grindr I don't know why that's so funny to me. But they're so fucking cute oh my god. The way Non smiles when they meet face to face the first time! They're both immediately smitten. The date montage is killing me. Non feeding Phi! Pinkies Locked while walking down the street!!! I love them so much! Phi is absolutely 100% justified in murdering everyone over this little love story.

Phi's dad is kinda hot in the one second we saw of him, not gonna lie.

Them pulling a Lady Ant The Tramp on an apple is objectively hilarious but they're so cute that I'll let it pass.

Phi is so fucking in love. The matching bracelets are so cute. Something something Red String Of Fate something something. what a lovely bit of joy this opening bit has been.

Aaaaand we return to your regularly scheduled awfulness. That music really immediately brought the tone back. Remember that everything is terrible? Remember that Non might get arrested? Remember that Non eventually goes missing at best and is murdered at worst?

Ooooh! Phi's dad is a fucking cop! Real high up, too! well that makes things interesting. but lol at Phi being soooo Ride or Die that he's straight up lying to his dad that he's involved in The Crimes too just to save his boyfriend.

See, Jin tries to help Non but it doesn't actually do anything. Because Jin has no spine or he wouldn't still be friends with people who bully the boy he likes. Phi actually helps Non. Get you a boyfriend like Phi, not like Jin.

Also it's so funny to see Non just not responding to Jin's heart eyes. Jin's got his hand on Non's shoulder like 😍 and Non is just blanking him. 🧍‍♂️😐 Hilarious.

Ah, i Knew that this was going to be the PhiNon Conflict: Phi is (rightfully!) upset about Non not sticking up for himself and leaving those assholes to do the movie themselves and keeping secrets, Non wants to handle his problems on his own and not have Phi sweep in every time to fix things and judge him. I'm sorry, Non, but you dicked down a latent obsessive crazy person (affectionate) and this comes with the territory. It's the Theerapanyakul coming out.

Sorry if anything is incomplete. May add things as they come up. Feel free to ask questions, comments, concerns!

General Info:

Named after the GOAT, one of my favorite fictional men of all time, Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables. In my story, however,his first name comes from a combination of his mother’s father, Gilles, and his father’s name, Robert. It’s supposed to be pronounced the French way, but only his mother and her family do that. 

Born October 25, 187(4?5?) in London

TECHNICALLY pure blood; his mother is magical and his father’s family is, however his father is a squib, so there’s a little bit of ambiguity as to whether he would count as pure blood to SOME people.

Father’s family disowned him for being a squib when he came of age, so he joined the British army as a medic. Eventually met Gilbert’s mother in France, they moved back to London to start his own medical practice and raise Gilbert.

Speaks fluent French thanks to his mother's side of the family.

Because of his ancient magic, he didn’t start showing any magical inclination till he was 14, so when he didn’t start at 7-9 like normal kids, his parents assumed he was a squib like his father.

His parents raised him as a muggle, because they did not want him feeling isolated from the magical community like his father did, or to feel like he was missing out on something amazing. They did not practice magic in the house (at least while Gilbert was awake), and he had no clue about any of it until his own magical awakening.

Attended a muggle Catholic school until 14. His family wasn’t particularly religious, but they did attend church regularly since they lived in the muggle community, and it was the done thing, so he still retains many of those values (though they might conflict with other aspects of his life e.g. his sexuality but we’ll get into that later).

Personality:

ENFJ - Myers Briggs Personality Type

Will tease his friends mercilessly, but can also handle them teasing him back without taking it personally. He just likes to laugh and make people laugh.

Would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it

Sometimes he takes on too much, finds it hard to say ‘no’ to someone who needs his help. As a result he can often be found running around the school/highlands doing favors for anyone he happened to come across, usually at the expense of his own personal needs.

Always knew he liked both boys and girls, something because of his upbringing he was always conflicted about. During those times, liking the same sex was obviously frowned upon/illegal in the muggle world, where Gilbert spent most of his time, so even when he finally realizes his feelings for Sebastian, there is a fair bit of hesitation from Gilbert to be truly open in public, even in the Wizarding community, at least at first. With the support of his friends though, he quickly overcomes this fear.

Physical Description:

Tall, athletically built, takes after his father in that way. Stays fit thanks to his father’s influence from a young age, and his early desire to follow his footsteps and become an army medic (before he developed magical abilities).

His dark brown hair he got from his dad, the curls from his mom.

He looks just like his dad, except he has his mother’s blue-gray eyes instead of his dad’s dark brown.

Freckles across his nose and cheeks, and one on his chin beneath his mouth you have to squint to see sometimes but it’s there (and his creator is obsessed with it lol)

Magic Reveal:

His magical abilities developed later in his childhood/teenage years, as was common for his fellow keepers who bloomed later as well.

One day at the muggle school he attended, he witnessed a close friend being bullied and defended him, getting into a fight with an older classmate. During the fight, when it appeared the bully had the upper hand, he -ancient magic throw style- managed to hit the bully with a chair from across the room.

This brought things to a halt immediately, and his parents were contacted by the school as well as the ministry, who detected the use of underage magic around muggles.

Almost immediately, his parents got in touch with Hogwarts, and they agreed to take him on as a fifth year, and the rest is history.

Likes:

Music - learned to play piano from an early age, attended the opera a lot with his family and developed a great appreciation for the arts. Joins the Hogwarts Choir sixth year when he has a little more free time. 

Food - He is a huge foodie, and is always eating whenever he has the chance. Given that his parents raised him without magic for most of his early life, he learned to cook beside his mother from an early age and enjoys a variety of different foods, but his mothers traditional french meals will always be his favorite.

Magical Creatures - always an animal lover, he jumped at the chance to help Deek capture beasts to keep them safe from poachers in fifth year, and he continued caring for them and volunteering his time helping Professor Howin with Poppy for the remainder of his time at Hogwarts. 

Crochet - learned from his mother. Loves to make hats and scarves for his friends. 

Physical activity - Enjoys swimming in the lake at Hogwarts before it gets too cold. Also taught how to fence by his mother's family and regularly competes with his cousins when he visits.

Dislikes:

Spiders - not scared of them, per se, just doesn’t see a need for them on this earth. Will blast them any chance he gets.

The Dark Arts - never learned an Unforgivable, never saw the need to. Wasn’t fond of Sebastian’s idea to use the relic to help Anne, especially when he read about the ‘dark sacrifice’, but trusted him to know when to stop (lol) and convinced Ominis anyway. Sorely regrets this decision, feels guilty for how it all turned out and vows to never have anything to do with the dark arts again.

Interactions with Other Characters:

Fig - When his parents learned Gilbert actually had magical abilities, they contacted Hogwarts (and Beauxbatons, but his father insisted on Hogwarts), and the school agreed to bring him on as a fifth year, as long as Professor Fig could meet and prepare him as best as he could before the beginning of the school year. Professor Fig had a residence in London that he used in the summer, so he didn’t live too far away from Gilbert, and as a result they trained in Gilbert’s back garden (with permission from the ministry and some anti-muggle charms) nearly every day. Because of this, they developed a close mentor-student relationship, and Gilbert sees him as another father figure. Fig felt the same about him, and even left Gilbert a sizable inheritance as well as his home to have a safe place for his further research into his ancient magic abilities.

Natty - The first friend he made at Hogwarts (I did Charms class first, ok), and they related to each other given that she’d only started at Hogwarts the year before. She fed into his competitive nature, and he admired her dedication to ridding the community of Rookwood and Harlow, and he always fully supported her decisions to pursue them and provided backup because let’s be real Natty was in charge on those missions.

Poppy - Very close to Poppy, given that they are both ‘Puffs and spend a lot of time together in the common room. Things got a little awkward sixth year when it was revealed Poppy had a major crush on him, which he was not sure he reciprocated. They went on one date on Valentine’s day to Hogsmeade, but quickly realized they were better off friends, as he sees her more as the sister he never had. They remain close even after Hogwarts, working together at the ministry to put an end to the poaching of magical creatures.

Ominis - Despite their initial confrontation outside the Undercroft, the whole ordeal with Sebastian and the relic essentially forced them to rely on each other. Gilbert always felt guilty for manipulating Ominis in order to help Sebastian, and that guilt caused him to do anything he could to make it up to him. After fifth year, they spent a great deal more time together NOT worrying what the hell Sebastian was up to. They share a love of music and joined the Hogwarts choir together. 

Sebastian - Oh boy, where to begin? Was always fascinated by Sebatian but didn’t quite understand why (besides the obvious, I mean). Fifth year was far too chaotic to worry about the reason, but he would always literally drop anything else he was doing when the letters from Sebastian arrived (even though toward the end he began to sort of dread them when the relic began to alter Sebastian’s personality, but he still rushed to help out regardless if only to make sure he didn’t get himself into too much trouble). They don't start exploring their feelings for each other for a while, but I don't want to spoil anything so that's all imma say here...

Amit - Gilbert feels bad for traumatizing Amit during their adventures in the mine, so now the only favors he asks of him are to help with his astronomy homework. They remain close, however, bonded by their adventure; Amit talks about it frequently, despite following it up with how he’d never do anything like that ever again. 

Imelda - Really disliked Imelda in the beginning, found her to be horribly conceited, but toward the end of the trials, learned more about why she is the way she is, and grew to understand and like her a lot more, though he still hasn’t forgiven her little squib comment. 

Garreth Weasley - Is always highly amused by Garreth’s antics, and is frequently his guinea pig for testing out new potions/concoctions. He usually always regrets this, yet he signs back up for it any time Garreth comes asking. 

Everyone else - Enjoys flying around with Everett, finds Leander to be a bit stuffy, but generally a nice enough bloke, good friends with Adelaide Oakes and Samanta Dale.

Hi! don't know if you answer asks like this but just curious as a fic writer do you feel different fandoms have cliques where some writers only comment or promote writers they're friends with and not all? and in relation to this, do you think stats are the most important thing to a writers success in a fandom? I know this might seem random but just admire your writing and wanted to hear your thoughts

Interesting ask. Okay well, first off, I squee whenever somebody says they ADMIRE my writing *fans self with nearest flat object, in a flattered, flustered, and ego-inflated emotional state*

second off, I'm fairly new to Tumblr, so I am not the most knowledgeable about this

that said, I think that people on Tumblr do a pretty pitiful job overall of promoting content with reblogs, and comments are even rarer!

I have a core group of people whom I've noticed will always reblog my fics, and I absolutely have friendship-y feelings for them even though they're internet strangers, lol. (I love you guys! 💗)

I think that if you're creating quality content and you aren't an asshat, people will eventually catch on and wind up flocking to you. It's the quality of the content you're putting out there that matters most.

But also be smart and try to post regularly, try to write things you know people love (certain tropes, pairings, kinks, etc). Post at peak times of day, make sure your queue is full and set to post at least several times per day. Stuff like that.

If your OTP/fandom is less popular, commit to writing some micro fics about more popular pairings/fandoms/tropes, just to draw more readers in--They will then be more likely to give your niche stuff a try!

As your followers # grows, you'll get more promotion, just because of sheer numbers. So yes, I think having more followers is important if you want to see more engagement with your content overall. (but again, that follows smart posting and quality content)

However, it only takes a handful of awesome supporters to make for a great fandom experience on Tumblr!

As to cliques, I have experienced some pretty hateful bullying and exclusion on the platform, related to an incident where I was abrasive and made a point about free speech, censorship, being willing to discuss vs cancel, and people who are reactive instead of rational (antis).

long story short, my old account was sent death threats, constant harassing, and vile anons, before being vindictively deleted by a rogue staff member (yes, I've gotten confirmation that this is abuse from other Tumblr representatives)

Antis and trolls definitely flock together in cliques, so exclusion can happen there. Cliques can be helpful in that they weed out the nasties fast.

For example: on my new account, I have noticed that perhaps 20 or so accounts have me blocked--most of them are smalltime/not so great bloggers, but about five of them are very popular Chris Evans or Sebastian Stan authors whose content I would probably otherwise be reading and commenting/re-blogging.

I don't think I interacted with most of them directly on my old account, but they are in the cliques that the antis were in, so they hopped on the block-Sarah train based off of whatever their mutuals said.

I don't read other people's fics on Tumblr so much as I do on Ao3, and I'm more about posting my own stuff on Tumblr, so the blocking isn't really an issue with me (mostly they're the ones losing out on the content promotion I would be doing for them, lol).

I think if people are going to be nasty, negative, reactive-not-rational, not willing to discuss, and just generally mean spirited, do you really want them promoting you anyway? Probably not.

As to the people who are not that way, I'd say: PEOPLE NOTICE WHEN YOU REBLOG AND COMMENT on their stuff.

1) Recently both @confusedhummingbird @spider-jaysart and I have been formulating an idea for a new character to act as a Wonder family member akin to Diana with Bruce and Clark, a character that’s a third POV and brings a more excited and passionate side to the Duo’s dynamic, someone to compliment them on adventures

Hence I shall take this questions as an opportunity to introduce a new character I can further develop in future posts.

Jake’s other best friend if not for Chris Kent would be named Penelope Haney Troy, a clone daughter of Donna Troy aka Troia created by Project Cadmus. She’s the lively, no nonsense, and adventurous type of girl about Jake’s age who’s always there to bring some comfort and fun to his life as he does for her. Her hero codename would be Hoplite with her main teacher being Cassie Sandsmark, similar to how Jake’s main teacher is Tim Drake

Basically think of her as the Donna to Jake’s Dick; platonic best friends, Wonder Twins

Then there’s Chris, for his best friend besides Jake, without doubt that’ll be Thara.

Oh yeah and these are in addition to a classmate Chris knows well back at school and Jasper Logan for Jake as well respectively for other best friends

2) Well that sort of relationship between Zsasz and Jake happens after a particularly difficult and cruel case involving some street orphans who are mercilessly taken by Zsasz, put into a gladiator type tournament where whoever survives then faces (and inevitably loses to) him. When Jake manages to find the location of this wicked scheme, Zsasz had him captured and personally taken into a duel against him, stripped of his powers, most of his equipment and even his own boots for this match. Had Jake won, the surviving children go free so the brave young hero takes that challenge. It was far from an easy fight as Zsasz was armed with both a butcher knife and a familiar rusty crowbar. The beat down Jake endured during this battle left him scarred both physically and emotionally while Zsasz was utterly remorseless in his work. Thus, Jake has deemed Zsasz his personal archenemy ever since

On a meta level, I just felt like Zsasz compliments Jake in that sort of ‘person driven by their commitment to their own’ archetype and give it a unique dark twist to it as Jake can attest to. Plus, since the original version of that arc (which btw introduced the world to Colin Wilkes) has its protagonist regularly nowadays have arch-nemeses linked to the League of Shadows in one form or another more often, that left Zsasz up for grabs thus Jake can fulfill that role

3) Oh I have a good passing knowledge of that book (mainly for the fact it’s further taking name of Chris Kent or rather Lor Zod in general further though the mud but I digress);

Now if there’s any sort of evil or at least anti hero mainline universe counterpart to the Starburst Duo, I would cast them being like a bastard preteen son of Blackfire and the aforementioned Vla-Blo (the young bully Kryptonian who was locked in the Phantom Zone by an ancestor of Chris and had the goal of humiliating the House of Zod for this perceived injustice) who both antagonize our main heroes in many fields with the notion in their minds of proving themselves superior to them, though often to failing results.

At least that’s what I can think of for this moment if anything comes up, I’ll let you know ;-)

4) Probably Mongul, a lot of it due to a time when he’s revealed as a mysterious business partner for Blockbuster regarding trading with for some reversed engineered fear toxin and the brawl that ensued between them and the Warlord tyrant was nothing short of brutal and devastating*, even if they stopped that shipped of fear toxin getting to Mongul’s hands.

*Just picture that what the Duo, also Corvus/Jasper Logan and Hoplite/Penelope Troy went through here with Mongul was akin to what happened with Mark Grayson aka Invincible and his friends when they faced Battle Beast for the first time.

5) Definitely the MCU as a general whole, Family Guy and about a few pro wrestlers they can name off the top of their heads….surprisingly not John Cena. More likely Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, The USOs and definitely The Rock. Heck Dwayne Johnson both in wrestling and especially as a film actor, they can’t stand people who claim he’s the best…or rather fittingly The Great One. It internally the Duo out hearing about him in school all the time.

6) Easily the Monsterverse movies, Hell’s Kitchen, We Bare Bears, and during the Halloween season Hellraiser (that’s if Chris and Jake are feeling brave enough to watch through it’s more gruesome moments lol)

probably mostly 1) hanging out with people / 2) exhaustion and 3) imposter syndrome — when I spend time with friends or family it’s hard to write haha and then when I get back from work I’m so tired these days that I end up napping instead of writing. but the imposter syndrome is the worst because I just lose faith in my words and it becomes a problem 💀

Fic Stats Game

(For simplicity's sake, I am choosing to only count completed fics... of which I have 95 in the MDZS/Untamed fandom, wtf?!)

1 - Most Hits - Think Outside the Shell - Yep, I am completely unsurprised that my first Nie Sect Murder Tortoise fic is #1. It seems to have scratched an itch many people had :D For those who haven't heart of/read it, it's a simple gen fic where, during the Wen indoctrination camp's trip to fight the tortoise of slaughter, NHS tames the xuanwu because apparently he already has one at home ;) This began my fun cracky series and will forever hold a special place in my heart.

2 - 2nd Most Kudos - When Fate Opens a Window, Let Us Fly Through It - I check my stats semi-regularly so technically this doesn't surprise me because of that, but it *does* surprise me how well-liked this fic was! It's NieLan, the first of my "Lan Ribbon Marriage" series. The plot? NMJ & LXC are teenagers and in love with each other but too married to their duties to do anything about it. They wake up in the middle of the night to find LXC's ribbon wrapped around both their wrists, and when LQR enters, NMJ finds out this is the first step of the Lan sect's marriage rites! The secret is that NHS & LWJ teamed up to tie them to each other and have them found out by LQR. It's cute and fun, and was a blast to write - and the series is complete with WangXian and SangHui follow-ups :D

3 - 3rd Most Comments - This category is the reason I chose to only include completed fics, because works in progress tend to get a lot of comments in general with people wanting to encourage the author to continue the story. So the answer is therefore... He's No Bully, He's My Friend - I adore this story and it's special to me, a modern day AU where NHS is homeless and comes across a pit bull that he befriends, and the dog turns out to be a cursed JC (It's SangCheng, but the shipping is minimal at the end after JC becomes human again, so if you prefer gen fic, you might enjoy this one). But this story in particular has a reason that it got so many comments - because the wonderful @takonxmz asked to podfic the story, and many people found their way to it through their recording (which is amazing and I totally recommend if you have an hour or so!!! There is art too!!!).

4 - 4th Most Bookmarks - I'm going to choose the list in my stats because those numbers include both public and private bookmarks (we can see how many there are, we just can't see who bookmarked the private ones) - Think Outside the Shell - My only surprise is that this one wasn't higher on the list! But a SangCheng, a SangYao, and (*checks eyesight*) a WangXian fic all came out ahead of it.

5 - 5th Most Words - I'd Rather Share With You - This is the WangSang fic I wrote for the 2 Cakes fest last year! NHS' first year at Gusu and a storm hits, damaging several homes of Lan disciples, who are all assigned visiting disciples' quarters to share - and LWJ is assigned to room with NHS. It's sweet and they're young and soft (and also petty, and definitely don't get along at first) and, yeah, it's a fun fic. (It's a good thing this tag came out now - later this month, I will have a 50k fic coming out that will skew all the stats lol)

Bonus - Fewest Words - Technically, my 3 lowest word counts aren't fics at all - they're the AO3 entries I did to show off my fanart for the RBB fest this year. So the lowest word count of an actual fic is... The Perfect Spiritual Pet - This is just a cute little gen fic where the One Braincell Trio create an array to find NHS the perfect spiritual pet in the hopes of getting NMJ off his case. They don't know what the animal is, but it's cute, lazy, and perfect for NHS (it's a 3-toed sloth).

what are 3 things you’d say shaped you into who you are?

i feel like the obvious answer is the traumas, and yeah they did shape me in a way, but it kinda feels like cheating lol! rn i'm trying to pinpoint what really made me, me. i think art in general molded me in unthinkable amount of ways, like all the movies, songs and games i've consumed. the next thing would be all the places i've visited with my family when i was young, all the museums, historical sites and foreign countries, they all gave me this sense of wonder and curiosity and wisdom i think. and there's this thing i don't remember, cause maybe it was always there, but ever since i was very little (like 3/4 y/o maybe younger even) i've always had this strong sense of justice. i'd regularly beat up kids in my kindergarten, who bullied my disabled friend and the pattern would repeat in school and in other areas of my life. and nothing got me more joy and in trouble more than this lmaoooo

3. 3 films you could watch for the rest of your life and not get bored of?

OHHHHHHH THIS ONE IS SO HARD!!!!!! literally i've been staring at my letterboxd thinking pondering wondering what to put here, but ig i'll never be fully satisfied with what i pick so here: Speed Racer (there's just so much going on, go watch a trailer rn and you'll see what i mean), Pride and Prejudice and Whisper of the Heart!!

14. what’s something you’ve always wanted to do but maybe been to scared to do?

i've always wanted to do a karaoke night with my friends! i love singing, nothing relaxes me more in the world than singing and it's always meant a lot to me in terms of connecting with people! that's why i love live music, etc!! but i'm scared of damaging my friends eardrums with my horrible voice and i get the stage fright a lot, sadly.

Tho, recently one of my friends from uni enrolled me and a few other folks into karaoke queue at a bar (without telling us about it lol) and i was going to just skip it, but when another of my friends heard my name being called out and realized i was going to chicken out, he just started pushing me towards the stage, the bastard (affectionally)! i ended up singing with all of them and it was so nice C: so maybe i'll try it someday again! but i still got a long way to go me thinks

Uhhhhh probably all the piss content lmfao. Also a handful of people get very upset when I mention Mountain's very real foot fetish, so that too.

Despite the fact that I only know like...four people in real life, that's still a yes lol. My few friends that are not part of this fandom know that I write, and one of them read my first fic. One is a writer in a professional capacity and he regularly bullies me for writing about my little guys. It's a good time.

🙂 Who is one character you haven’t yet written for that you would like to?:

Terzo! I had a great idea for a Mushy May prompt with him and Omega, but then The Horrors took hold and it didn't happen. Hopefully in the future!
