a lot of new tvc/iwtv amc fans could not understand the relationships characters hold and the dynamics between them even if you showed a graphic explaining in detail to them but you know what! it's fun enough like that. the dumbest person you know has read 13 books of this series and still can't understand a thing <- happened to academics of any field across any era of history too
