don’t read the tags, just venting abt the szechuan sauce clusterfuck show
#honestly this season wasn’t even that good#like in terms of visuals they reaaaally outdid themselves#everything looked amazing and the animation was so smooth and fluid and rly fit the vibe of the show#but the writing this season kiiiinda sucked idk if it’s just me but it felt weak#like the first few eps were a competition of ‘how stupid can we get it’ with the giant sperm thing and the *nc*st baby thing????#the past seasons esp 3 and 4 rly show how rnm can be a show that rollercoasters up to a high point of crude humour#and then artfully crashes down into emotional character revelations that make u want to know the characters stories#but for this season it rly felt like the stupid jokes just took away from the emotional points and weakened them#like the fucking 2 crows shit like instead of showing actual development with morty having to get used to not being with rick#and giving him his dignity as a character they decided to pull some dumb age up guilt shit and then got the crows to dump rick#like such an opportunity for rs development but instead they play it off as a joke and net 0 development is gained#and the last ep with morty choosing rick over evil morty could’ve hit so much harder but the pacing was just awkward n the writing insincere#i really loved the backstory reveal and the stuff w birdperson humanising rick but it just didn’t hit that hard tbh#fool speaks#me
