One of the earliest Arrancar we ever see and one I always kind of lament the retcon/redesign of was Aisslinger. When he first showed up along with DiRoy at the end of Chapter 25, to rip the proto-Arrancar version of Grandfisher out of his own hollow body is barely visible in full, but his bird mask has a distinctly round head and rough edges. it even appears to be pinned and stapled back onto his face. He has this neat mantle of flaps with holes in them that actually feel like they were the basis of the unnamed "MenosGrande" arrancar the attacks the depowdered Uryuu at the start of the Arrancar Arc.(come to think of it they do both share that awkward hovering pod body bit of design...) And he has this greasy waved slick back hair style. Moreover, he's got this air of authority about him, he's an expert, a specialist, a surgeon...

But then when Kubo brings him back he's this weird reject? He and Demoura fulfill Jidanbou's role as gate guardian and get handily dealt with just to show how strong the post-training arc heroes have gotten. He's categorically identified as a lesser make of Arrancar for having forgone a more humanoid form to keep his more familiar monster anatomy. He's got kind of generic anime pointy hair instead of his waves. His mask has changed shape dramatically and has this clunky awkward shape and weight to it. His anatomy, even though we never technically saw it clearly before, seems all wrong. He's this weird floating pod man??? His goofy slender little rubber tube fingers shoot bullets for some reason; Instead of the bulkier rip-and-tear ready limbs he used to operate on Grandfisher.

All in all I just got weirdly invested in his two panel first apperance and his two chapter return was super disappointing... I do like the added spade tattoos above the eyes though. Feels like its part of a matched set with Luppi's diamond ones.
