You tuck the water bottle into the front of the shirt they have given you. You think it’s a shirt, anyway. It wraps around your body, ties at the waist, ends just below your hips. You are wearing another shirt beneath it of a different style. Close to the skin. You aren’t entirely comfortable with it, but neither are you going to mention that. These clothes are not the ones you pulled from the supply boxes Tsoji showed you from your pod. You aren’t sure where those ended up, but you’d prefer to wear them instead. It is easier to hide your form in them.

Water bottle secured, you take Tsoji’s hands with yours. The electric sensation of skin-on-skin contact courses up your arms, an electric bolt straight to the heart. No, to the brain? To both? You should be less sensitive to such things by now. Tsoji and Atsia are not stingy with their touch. Yet somehow, the simple act of holding onto his hands sets your nerves on edge to the near point of discomfort. You should not be touching other people so freely.

Oblivious to your turmoil, Tsoji guides you across the uneven ground to the tent. It is only now that you pay attention to it. Hard, but soft in patches. You are treading on green things. You stop abruptly - Tsoji nearly pulls you off balance.

“What’s wrong?” he asks. Concern radiates off of him - Atsia nearby pings back in return.

“Green,” you say as you nod at it. What’s the word again?

“It’s just grass. You have shoes on to protect you,” Tsoji says. He does not understand your concern, not really. He thinks you are worried about an allergic reaction.

“It’s alive?” you ask.

“Well, yes, but like I said, it’ll be fine.” Tsoji lightly tugs at your hands. Dimly, you are aware of others in the group taking note of this scene you are making. Curious gazes look you over, searchlights for what is wrong with you.

You do not want their attention. But it is such a marvel to you that they have things that are alive like this just… outside.
