hi everyone!!

okay, as some of you guys know me... or not, I use to write for stray kids and nct dream, and other groups on my old account (@renjunvinates) but I closed the account two years ago and stopped writing for some time because I started to become a casual kpop-listener and enjoyer, and was slowly falling out of stray kids and nct dream... (I still love them with my whole heart but it's just not like that anymore... so sorry!!!).

so... now you're wondering how did I end up back here... with a new account, the answer is simple... I somehow, in some way got dragged back into kpop and fell in the enhypen rabbit hole... who do we blame here just maybe my best friend and myself LMFAO. Not recently but a few months ago, I attended the FATE PLUS TOUR concert and that's where it basically went downhill.

RINHI'S ENHYPEN LORE;

So, few years back I was very much into enhypen (i-land days, literally would wake up early to watch the show because I was heavily invested into them) I was there during i-land, watched their pre-debut stuff and was there for their debut! Now this was at the time I became really invested into skz and nct that I had hard time following other groups which caused me to not focus on enhypen too much. I think skip forward too near end of COVID this was where I started to fall out of kpop in general and started to become a casual listener, not really focusing on any groups but still listening to kpop as my main genre, it was also the time scandals were being dropped left and right, and I got fed up with the crazy amount of hate and negativity which is why I dipped. So I wanna say, I kinda dipped out after drunk-dazed/fever released. I occasionally listened to their music but never took the time to fully invest into them. I was also having a huge dilemma who my bias is because they were so young and it made me feel uncomfy (lowkey still does, but like wow I love them like so so so much)

now we're here, so occasionally did listen to their music, but wasn't into them like that, fast forward to where we are now, I attended their fate plus tour, and wow when I tell you that this concert changed me... it heavily changed me, because now I'm like super(?) into kpop and like love love enhypen and I'm now deep in the depths of kpop (specifically enhypen)...

RINHI'S ENHYPEN BIAS LORE;

okay let's just put out there I absolutely adore all of them and I'm ot7 forever and always, but dang if I had to choose we know by my user... its the one and only yang jungwon aha... now how did this happen? TBH I'm going to sound like a psychopath and crazy and I'm sorry, I've just been in denial since i-land LMFAO.

okay so when i-land released, i initially took interest in sunoo, but that's because I thought he was just a cutie patootie, but then I saw his age and I was like oh, idk LMFAO (I was young at that time... but he was younger, so I felt weird). anyways, when I heard jungwon's voice when he sang "Intro to i-land" I kinda was like wow I love his voice so much, and when I saw jungwon I was like wow cutie patootie!! And then I saw his age and I was like oh... I really cant!! (this is where my denial starts). But, when I like saw geonu (now in JUST B) and heard his voice that I was like oh, I like his voice and he's cute and his age was okay, and I felt fine with. So yeah I biased geonu for a bit, but really was in denial about jungwon but told myself I couldn't bc it was kinda weird (age wise) BUT SOMETHING WAS DARN THERE but was trying to avoid it like the plague (I'm sorry won, I love you with my whole god dang heart). okay fast forward into i-land LOL dang geonu is eliminated and I'm in distraught LOL because now I'm like dang who do I bias?? So the final episode comes around and I'm like rooting for all the boys, and when the final line-up gets chosen, I look at my screen and I'm like LOL who do I bias,,, so I'm like ahaha jungwon??? but i'm too freaked out, so then I switch over and I'm like yeah sunoo, but my logic and reasoning is HE'S MY SON THOUGH LIKE I BIAS HIM, BUT IN A SON LOVING WAY (literally still in denial about jungwon and avoiding him like the plague in hope getting over him).

Okay we're fast forwarding to current time; LMFAO so you know when people ask me who my bias is, I would tell them oh it's sunoo but in a son lovingly way LOL and would try move on from the topic, but if there's one person who knew my secret dilemma it was my bestie LMFAO and she would lowkey side-eye me, because she knew LMFAO. Moving onto fate plus tour, at this point I was in denial and I knew I was LMFAO before the concert I said wow I get to see sunoo!!! *causally whispers* and jungwon ahaha... guys I'm a fraud LMFAO I went to this concert and the entire god dang time my eyes was on jungwon, and after that concert it really changed me and who I am, because not only do I simply love jungwon, I simply love enhypen and its all I ever yap about.

Read of The Month

This week I'd finally gotten around to getting a digital library card from @queerliblib ! The Queer Liberation Library is a free digital library the is entirely comprised of books created by LGBT+ BIPOC authors. They have such a ride variety of audiobooks and scanned copies that I feel there's something for everyone. To apply for a library card is free, however please be mindful it may be a bit of a wait for your library card depending on when you apply. I was lucky and received mine within like a few days of applying. All info to learn more and to apply will be on the @queerliblib socials.

I'm currently reading Between Perfect and Real by Ray Stoeve. It follows a trans guy named Dean who is recently cast as a major male lead in a school play. The story follows how Dean navigates his transition while also juggling graduating school and making it to an acting school in New York. I'm about halfway through and I highly recommend.

Music Wrap of the Week.

Okay so this section alone will probably turn into it's own individual post at some point considering I finally am getting into KPOP. I'm focusing on girl groups right now and I've listened to ALOT this week. Here's only a few of my favorites from the week.

QWER: Secret Diary

Okay, I give. This first song is technically a band as opposed to a girl group. However, their music is so good I have to let it slide. Debuting on October 18 2023, QWER is a South Korean girl band consisting of 4 members(shown below). QWER is such an interesting Kpop group to me with the members pulling inspo and influence from American bands like Slipknot and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. They bring something a little different that I really love.

XG: Winter Without You

The next on the list came as a pleasent surprise, because I didn't know I had heard a song from them before. You may know this 7 member group from their song Shooting Star, which is a great song, but just a little played out after the sped up version went viral on TikTok. Winter Without You leans more into the RNB aspect of the group's concept, and it makes me feel like Christmas should be here again. If you like modern holiday songs or were a big fan of Ariana Grande's album Christmas and Chill, this song was made for you.

Loossemble- Real World

LOOSSEMBLE is a group that caught my eye from their single Sensitive, but Real World I feel is an underrated song on their debut album. Debuting September 15, 2023 LOOSEMBLE consists of 5 members(PICTURED BELOW). This is a new subdivision of the girl group LOONA, with some members also being from LOONA 1/3 respectively. Just like with my other recs this week, the whole debut album is a bop tbh. Honorable mention for Strawberry Soda track as well. I haven't really gotten in my LOONA bag just yet, but if it's anything like LOOSSEMBLE, I'm fully sat.

Movie of the Week : TMNT (2007 Film)

To say I'm a TMNT fanatic would be an understatment. No matter what gen TMNT is in, I can always find something to cherish about every form of content that been pumped out ofer the years. More praise should be given to this film as a whole. Yes at points the animation of the turltes can be a little.... jarring to say the least.

However, the storyline is so good I can overlook the jumpscare that is having to look at them during certain scenes. This is one of this first instances on screen prior to the Michael Bay films that I felt really allowed Leo to be more than just a leader to his brothers.

Leonardo in most depictions up until recent years was always shown as the levelheaded leader who rarely has a genuine spat with his team and if he does, it usually has to do with the stress from being a leader and not neccesarily with having to be a brother.

This film follows the turtles after Leo returns from what was supposed to be a few months' mission that turned into a year and him trying to recollect his team. You have Mickey and Donnie who are elated the Leo is home, while Raph carries on as though nothing has changed, almost mad that Leo had the gull to come back.

This boils over into a moving fight scene between Raph and Leo, but the difference from this onscreen arguments between the two than the ones at the time were that they allowed Leo to argue, even physically fight Raph but not as his leader. It was a his genuine brother. They allow Leo to get fed up and tired of Raph's attitude enough to give into the preconceived notion that Raph thinks Leo has about him. If you haven't seen it, I would make it a point to. Especially for this scene alone. Def a 5/5 in my book.

Since may that year i think my buddy friends start to looking for another group. They stop talking about gfriend, even they have any activity with their new agencies. I know it's hard and hurted them but yea🥲

I feel lonely tbh, buddies on twitter and instagram are busy spreading campaign to boycott that shitty agency and hates to other fandom that hates gfriend.

It's kinda ashamed but i did messaged umji and the other girls about my feeling lmao..

Yeah, that's something i noticed too. I don't interact with alot of the bigger Buddy accounts non twitter. But years ago I did see a few using their same screennames to comment on some of my fics on other sites lol

But there were a few that I had to unfollow, because even months after the contract stuff happened, they would still constantly be posting stuff about it. And it was the same things every time. I just got tired of seeing it. Like, yeah, it's bad and unfair to the members. But move on already. Yerin already had a new contract, I think even Yuju had news of being a solo artist by then. And they were still talking as if the girls were just homeless or something. It just felt like they were forcing drama.

I think it can be okay to move on to other groups. I've only been into kpop since 2016. And I to this day have only followed maybe 4 groups total. I went to music school for many years. So I really don't follow music unless it's something that I think is good. And ofc GFriend really stood out. So it's hard for me to even find any new groups. I know alot of people follow groups for visuals alone. But that's just boring to me.

I've seen alot of the boycott stuff too. I think people should just focus on what the members are currently doing. For example, I saw some rumors about how Sowon might have been let go from IOK recently. And then after a day, no one has mentioned her. It just feels strange. Years ago people would have been speculating and trying to find out what actually happened.

As fra as messaging them, I wouldn't feel too bad about it as long as you are respecting their privacy and not bothering them. But it does remind me of how I always joke that Umji has found my stories before. I know other idols I follow, like Wendy, have said they read smut type stories online. And at some point, I kept seeing alot of stuff GFriend would post on their own, or in content they appeared in that were suspiciously subtly hinting at stuff from my stories. I know it is 100% coincidence. But it always made me laugh. I have seen screenshots one time of Umji's tablet, and you could see she has English twitter. So it could be possible lol

As far as current projects, for me personally, it just doesn't feel the same. I like VIVIZ. But their singles so far just don't grab me the same way GFriend singles did. But it's a new company, and they are just 'starting out' in a way. So I am giving them time to get things figured out again. With Yerin, I was kinda shocked she got picked up so quickly. And I was surprised she didn't pursue music as her main focus. But I am happy she at least is able to do multiple media under her contract. I also love the running gag about her drama being so delayed that she will have multiple music releases before it finally comes out lol

I'm really happy for Yuju so far. I think her solo debut went well, and I liked the music. But I did see people talking about how she didn't do as high of a range, and they mentioned how that was probably forced on her by SourceMusic at the time. I get why she would avoid it if she is doing what she wants. But it is kind of disappointing to not see her full range displayed spread over a whole mini album. But people also said it's probably painful on her vocals to be doing the more difficult ranges. So I fully understand her choosing to do things how it has been so far. I don't know anything about vocal training though, so I'm just going by what I have heard.

As far as Sowon, I just have no idea what to think. She hasn't been as present on social media. She hasn't done many appearances. And honestly, know how she was under SoMu, I wouldn't be surprised if she caused alot of problems between her and IOK. I feel like she would have still tried to act like she was the boss, and the company probably didn't put up with that. So I wouldn't be surprised if they mutually agreed to just let her go, or if it was more on the company's side. Either way, the fact that there was basically no promotion for her movie shows that there was some kind of negativity between them.

I told a friend I was shocked she didn't stick with being part of a group. And they mentioned how Sowon likes the variety shows and stuff like that more than the stage performance aspect of things. Which makes sense. But it makes me wonder how many of the members as a group decided not to pursue the ot6 under a new name and company, and how much of it was VIVIZ deciding to get together on their own.

!!! YANGJEONGIN IS ONE YEAR OLD !!!

yes yes, very exciting!! honestly, it feels like we’ve been here for years, but simultaneously i’m like what??? it’s already been a year?? crazy. i’m not sure i expected to stick around this long or be as active on stayblr as we’ve been, but i’m glad we have 💕 on top of this, we’re reaching a follower milestone too, so i’m going to go all out with this fasten your seatbelts

i’m usually a really casual stan, and i’m also multi af, so following one group so closely is an entirely new experience to me despite being into kpop since 2012. in running a blog dedicated to one group...i have to keep up! and that in itself has been really fun. i think i have a love for skz that’s different than any group i’ve ever stanned, so i’m thankful to this blog for that much alone. 

on top of that, i’ve really enjoyed meeting and talking to everyone on stayblr that i have, seeing y’all’s amazing content, and i appreciate the support you all have given us in the past year so much. i think i’ve improved a lot as a content creator in the past year, and i think if i just stayed on my main blog, that wouldn’t be as much of the case. everyone’s encouragement and creativity has made being yangjeongin super fun for me, and (usually) keeps me motivated to keep making stuff!! i don’t think i can say thank you enough. so many of you have been so kind to us and i’m really so grateful.

i could probably say so much, but one of the most important things to do is credit @minhos, because without their influence (see: dragging us kicking and screaming to make a skz sideblog) yangjeongin wouldn’t exist at all. we would not be yangjeongin because we even got this url from them!! and tbh we may not even be into skz at all without haru. this is the only time i will say this but thank u haru, every other time i’m going to say you ruined my life even though that’s a lie. 

i may joke about stayblr ruining my life too but the truth is i think i needed this blog in my life in the past year and that despite feeling INSANE sometimes, i think i would be worse off today if yangjeongin didn’t exist. i’m actually getting emotional help so just. thanks for making this such a good experience for me, and for helping me to have so much fun.

this is already a lot but i (unfortunately) have even more to say. i don’t have the time or energy to write a message for EVERYONE, and i feel like they would just get redundant eventually, so i’m going to write a general thank you to All of my stayblr mutuals for making the past year so great for me, and some individual shoutouts to some of you that i actually have something unique to say about 👁️ honestly y’all have Made my experience on stayblr, which in the past year, has been a really good one! i’m so grateful for everything, and i appreciate you all so much. really looking forward to the next year with y’all, seeing what you make, and hopefully befriending more of you, too. and ofc, making even more mutuals.

she’s from seongnam, south korea which is just outside of seoul 

her family is middle-class, a bit closer to the upper side but not much

she was raised an only child but she had one cousin who was her age that she’s still close to to this day

her parents were happy together and she thought they had the perfect relationship

around middle school, her dad was going through Some Shit and turned to alcohol and she watched her parents’ “Perfect Relationship” go completely down the drain and they struggled for a while through that

it took a few years but her dad eventually made it through that but her image of her Perfect Parents was completely ruined

eventually during high school, they ended up telling her that they were going through an amicable divorce and stuff

this kind of ruins her ideas on romance in general, but she finds that her parents ended up just staying friends and she saw them both quite a lot (not together until around her graduation but having them both in her life was a big thing for her)

she starts at kyungwon as a communications major because her youtube channel (see next part) is slowly starting to gain traction and she decides that if she should probably have a backup career in case her youtube doesn’t take off but it’s good enough for some pocket money/cash to save up with

she does one semester at kyungwon and then does one year abroad in canada at the university of british columbia

which is coincidentally where she meets jinwoo and long story short—they’ve been dating for almost 1.5 years now

she’s been back for about a year now, finishing her 5th semester

@drippinlovetalk - one of my favorite blogs of all time. If you’re not following her already, I highly recommend you to do so. Nothing but creative, well-written, and just overall amazing fics. It doesn’t matter who your bias in NCT is, you'll end up reading everyone’s fics anyway because they’re all great.

@lovingonrepeat - love, love, love her blog!! Her fics are so nice to read, I love them. I tend to get distracted easily when I’m reading, but her stories are just so well put together that it’s impossible to stop, lol. But seriously!! I’ve re-read all of her fics multiple times, they’re just that good ♥

@capriccio-con-espressione - oof, this one. Her fics are very intense to me, in a way. I don’t know how to really describe it, but once you check out her work, you’ll understand what I mean. There’s always something to them that makes them really memorable and stand out. And don’t even get me started on her sub!Kun fics, it’s embarrassing how many times I’ve re-read those, lmao. And the sub!Winwin one too!! Gosh, I loved that one so much as well!! Seriously, just check out everything she has, you won’t regret it.

@kisskissbanggang - I love her fics, oh my god. Both the sfw and the nsfw ones, they’re just something else. If anyone wants to read some amazing sub!idol fics with a great plot, character portrayal, and just everything in general, this is the blog for you! I especially love her sub!SKZ fics, but she writes incredible NCT fics as well. They’re just all lovely tbh :’)

I’ve literally spent most of my time at my part-time job reading her work, and it made it 1000% better.

@submissive-bangtan - ugh!! The power, the skill, the execution!! If you want to read a perfectly written fic with lots of plot, great dialogue, and beautifully described scenery (in other words: a fic that’s tastefully horny with a great deal of talent), this is a blog for you. It’s also one of the first blogs that introduced me to sub!idol content (and awakened the inner dom), so it holds a special place in my heart. But wait!! There’s more!! Not only does she write great fics, but she has so many interesting astrology & kibbe posts as well!! What’s not to love? Exactly, it’s all amazing. When did you post your first piece? May 26, 2020 (Dec 7, 2014 was my OG post on ff.net haha)

Do you write fluff/angst/crack/general/smut, combo, etc? Why? I write fluff, angst (lots), and sometimes crack. While I can rec some awesome smuts, I don’t feel comfortable writing explicit smut as of yet, although I will elude to some smexy time. I do have a WIP that I will one day write that will definitely include smut because it’s part of the story.

Do you write OCs, X Readers, Ships...etc? I have some OG OCs and my starter fics on Tumblr were third-person female reader. However, recent works include x you (reader) and I find that really fun and easier to write! I don’t really write any ships for Kpop.

Why did you decide to write for Tumblr? Having read so many awesome works on Tumblr made me want to write and hopefully have other readers experience the same feelings I do when I read that great piece. However, my original goal was just to write for Monsta X since there aren’t a whole lot of fics for them but also because I have too many ideas running in my mind. Lastly, I just write for myself.

What inspires you to write? The groups I write for, other things I read (like mangas and/or shows), and especially songs!

What genres/AUs do you enjoy writing the most? I write best fluff for established relationships because otherwise it’s all just angst, which is a lot of fun to write while keeping it not too toxic unless stated otherwise for plot. I also love silly fics for giggles. As for Au’s I enjoy regular day to day life with a spin or fantasy based Au’s.

What do you hope your readers take away from your work? I hope they just feel a strong emotion - depending on the genre. I hope that they get to the end and find all the nuances I try to sprinkle throughout the story hinting to clues or plot devices. That’s always what I try to aim for.

What do you do when you hit a rough spot creatively? Cry. Jokes aside, I take a break/breather to refocus and take time for myself. I also read professional works to take my mind off things or get inspired. 

What is your favorite work and why? Your most successful? My personal favorite of my published works would be my Han Jisung x reader, Promise. It was my first kpop fic and a gift to my friend. I think it’s a hallmark of my return to writing and I look forward to publishing more of my favorite plots! My most successful is Spiderling, a Jeon Jungkook x reader fic, not surprised at all that my first official BTS fic would be the most popular one of my current works haha.

Who is your favorite person to write about? Honestly, I have so many ideas for Changkyun haha. I feel like he’s totally boyfriend material and can fit different roles from a total fratboy to a soft boyfriend. But I’m trying to expand both my writing and pairings and it’s a fun challenge to write for the different boys.

Do you think there’s a difference between writing fanfiction vs. completely original prose? I actually do! In my honest opinion, fanfiction is work about an already established character/person/universe. It’s easier for me to think up ideas for characters already prepped because I personally get lost in the details already of thinking up terms/universes to place the story in. I have a character that’s already established and people know about without having to elaborate on those finer details.

What do you think makes a good story? Proper formatting goes a long way. While I don’t judge on grammar and spelling mistakes, it is a much smoother read if people follow basic narrative-writing skills. I feel like anyone who can embody their own style and ideas (without being discriminatory or mean), then they’ve really got me hooked.

What is your writing process like? A mess. I know a lot of people outline, and I try that sometimes. But, normally I just get straight into writing what I’ve brainstormed, maybe adding some notes for future events here and there. If I get tied up at a certain part, I make a messy line break and start another scene.

Would you ever repurpose a fic into a completely original story? Yes. Funnily enough though, I repurpose my original storylines for fics, but if I could, I would write an original story.

What tropes do you love, and what tropes can’t you stand? I can’t stand cliches but I WILL cry over them if they’re well-written and/or have a spin on them. So, ultimately I’m down for anything. Enemy to lovers isn’t always my favorite but @gukyi​ does a great job, since that’s her renowned trope.

How much would you say audience feedback/engagement means to you? A lot! I have a few lovely mootz that always have something nice to say, but I would love more reader interaction! Of course, I’m a newer writer and haven’t blown up so it is to be expected that I’m a little lonely right now. I hope that’s not a long-term thing.

What has been one of the biggest factors of your success (of any size)? Who I write for. I hate to be blunt about it, but certain members and/or groups truly are more popular which is a shame at times. Plus, interacting with more mootz and authors as well as joining discord chats and networks helps by meeting new people who will interact with you and your content.

Do you think fanfic writers get unfairly judged? Yes, at times and with certain topics. We all know people will go on anon and tear anyone down for whatever reason.

Do you think art can be a medium for change? Definitely! Writing for the public,(especially fanfic and reader-based fics) especially in these times, means you have to adapt and adhere to the ever-changing times. We have a role to play in how people perceive things, whether that’s regarding an IRL person or how we view others with representation.

Do you ever feel there are times when you’re writing for others, rather than yourself? Huh, as of now, I feel like I’m writing for myself. Without a lot of interaction, I don’t feel pressure. I do want to write for other groups, but as of now I’m trying to pick up speed with certain groups. I have a lot of WIPs, so we will see where I end up.

Do you ever feel like people have misunderstood you or your writing at times? Not that I know of, haha.

Do your offline friends/loved ones know you write for Tumblr? No, haha.

What is one thing you wish you could tell your followers? I love you!

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers who might be too scared to put themselves out there? Don’t be afraid! It’s scary, but the worst that can happen is not writing!

Are there any times when you regret joining Tumblr? HAahaha, only because the site’s interaction roles have drastically dropped and a lot of the features suck. But the people I’ve met… priceless. I love them all and a lot have impacted my life so positively.

It's long but hey, thank you so much for allowing me to share my thoughts as kpop is something I do enjoy but I like to look at it from other points of view, how it looks to me from various perspectives, not just as face value kpop fans have tantrums every time something isn't right or whenever idol does something so small and irrelevant it becomes a scandal… shocking but idols are humans and won't always perform to the fans standard.

Fans bitch and whine about how the standard of kpop industry is too harsh yet it's not the industry that is encouraging it, it's the fans themselves, they cant accept minor mistakes and everything gets taken out of context while fans claim they know the idols… ie: Jennie's “lazy” scandal.

Yet they don’t scrutinize the idols whenever they are sexist, colorist, ageist, misogynist, racist, because they can “do no wrong” or their fans, will come to save their asses… even the flipping companies encourage it because they want them to be younger. After all, it's more appealing??? but what 25+-year-old fans are going to be drawn to teens in a group? I don't even find itzy, txt appealing and their whole group’s image is directly for those of teenagers and below, the music/dances, the image, it’s all catered that specifically of a younger audience, shame, I would’ve liked them otherwise.

The younger the idols = the better publicity and the higher chances of gaining popularity by getting into “scandals” for the lack of maturity and social awareness nor are they likely to take accountability and just do whatever they please anyway because they’re idols and their fans will still claim that their age isn’t a problem or because they’re a child/teenager/minor then its okay kpop idols are so out of touch with reality that when they have some form of criticism they start banning and suing left right & center… because they live as though everyone is going to fall head over heels for them and blindly accept everything they do because most kpop fans are already blinded by their idols and cant accept when an idol says or does something disgustingly wrong nor can they accept mild criticism without getting their pitchforks out.. its a cult, no denying it. 

As lovely as the choreography might be I don't want to watch the idols if they are doing any of the above: dancing overly provocatively (especially when they may be on the minor age scale), twerking or grinding the stage or anything overly sexual at that. 

Kpop fans lap it up because its socially acceptable to objectify the idols and make them appealing because of their “dancing/performance” when it is turning them into some trend because they “danced” overly sexy/cute, that's all they amount to is the dancing side of it

TBH I found it intriguing at first but now every kpop group tries to have this “sexy” look and it just doesn't work. it’s like asking a foreigner to be interested in kpop when they act cute except its not normal to appear cute over here, it's only going to appeal to those who maybe find it intriguing or different from their own culture. 

Yet cute/sexy is all kpop idols can amount to even if it looks so uncomfortable and unpleasing to watch. alas they are idols, they’re not humans, they can twerk, dance provocatively and act cute all because the fans will enjoy it no matter what it is or who it is… age isn’t even considered but the younger the better they stand a greater chance. 

Which is like bighit canceling everyone of the older generations who maybe possess the same talent but with a maturer image and behavior… its both ageist and sexist, why is it some huge fetish that just boys in or around 1999 only for their new survival show thing i-land? I find it… odd more than exciting or interesting cause I know its just typical for the members to be more younger but less appealing to older generation cause I have nothing that I’d relate too I don't even relate to the TikTok trend because that's all it is, another trend or bandwagon. yet everyone treats it as being this incredible new thing that suddenly acceptable for young folk even though it brings so much disgusting behavior/drama along with it, its a recycled version of the vine but worse, in the same sense this is what kpop does, recycle groups once they’re less appealing to make way for the same groups but look slightly different. 2ne1/blackpink, BTS/txt yet the fans don't say nothing about how it is encouraging the sexual appeal and almost asking for fans to thirst over them because this is what “dance” supposedly should be. sexy/cute nothing in between, it's saying that idols should portray this image cause it’s more appealing than the music itself. if the male idols show their abs/skin even better, females? wear the most uncomfortable looking clothing and ur good to go. 

The kpop sounds now have become about the group's image, level of popularity, as opposed to actual talent, creative freedom and ability to give off a genuine performance that doesn’t include anything generic or robotic image. its got to be loud, bright, vivid because its all for the dance/sexual appeal of both the male and female gender is almost aligned with the concept for it.

The lyrics can be as disgusting as they please because its okay, its only kpop. any lyrics are acceptable, bts got called out for their lyrics in one song yet not in any of the others? same for other groups, so few call out the lyrics because lyrics mean nothing. it's about the visual appeal of the groups and the kind of fame they gather from it alone so you can have the visuals but do the bare minimum and not have much stage presence but be classed as a main singer or dancer, its okay fans will lap it up no matter what it is. also, I’ve noticed the same sound being used across several groups depending on the concept of the song… repetitive much? why does kpop fear change or standing out? why get idols to become something they are not ie: whitening their naturally beautiful dark skin, have idols who don’t need to, lose weight. it's not the company its the idols encouraging it because it's acceptable and normalized to be anything other than thick, natural and healthy. 

Ppl act like trying to shove kpop into the western music genre will make it appeal any better, the fans act like they couldn’t see the racism coming, but that's what happened bts were forced into a culture that had nothing to do with them because in western we generally hop from one bandwagon to the next and just roll with it since it's popular it must be good.

ie: one direction, psy, 5 seconds of summer and now bts… how do so many don't see the pattern nor did they see bts coming? you expect Asian artists to become greatly admired over here too but when you shove it in ppl’s faces and try to get it to become the next big thing, not everyone is gonna see the appeal I honestly feel like it's been forced… not by the companies but by the international fans. now instead of trying to gain popularity in their home country kpop groups try too hard to appeal to the western market… you can’t even deny how vastly generic bts’ music has become SINCE they hit the American music awards or whatever it was. note: they didn’t even win awards for their music, but simply their popularity is what got them there

I loved boyz with fun, despised boy with Luv yet because they’ve been in the American industry’s eyes they put it out what has become popular just using their language… well sometimes, even idol, what could’ve been a great song with a nice meaning missed some marks, as in the overuse of auto-tune has become almost normal for them? vs using natural vocal abilities, I'm no coach but straining one's voice to hit a high note in a slow song doesn’t sound healthy. when all bts have done in the past is upbeat music is why they struggle to maintain high notes in slow songs because they’ve followed the same music style for so long then suddenly changed it so their voices don't match softer songs… which I’d appreciate more of instead of just dark lyrics and over-hyped upbeat poppy music.

ie: I loved the sound for serendipity, but the lyrics weren’t as good and Jimin kinda struggled to sing it well enough both in-studio and live, however its one of my more favorite songs. I’d also appreciate a slower gentle song that isn’t about a relationship too thanks looking @ you euphoria. 

You think it's about the music, lyrical side of it but I disagree, it's merely the concept of yet another boy group that's sadly taken over in the most overbearingly forced way possible and you all act like the racism wasn’t going to occur. nct had an incredibly shit time in America during their tour its because it's not meant for America, its trying force kpop to become something it's not just to fit in with western music taste. I miss when they did full songs in Korean now they do English full versions with hella cringe-worthy lyrics and expect them to blow up or become the next big thing. 

I’ve been walking with the cheese and the queso????? if ur happy and u know it clap ur hands???? theses ones make me laugh more than wanting to listen repeatedly, they throw them in there simply to appeal to western music, no matter if its a bad lyric, doesn't make sense or is cringe-worthy. 

Kpop is built for Korean consumption it's great to see it's expanded however, its in the wrong directions for the wrong appeal. bts did not pave the way when psy also existed the same year they debuted. bts tried to get a following in America but failed because naturally psy was almost made fun of for just being an Asian doing what he does best yet the hype quickly dyed down & everyone moved on until bts came into the scene… so far behind than when they should’ve gone viral years before. not the companies fault but merely the appeal of the image/music wasn’t suited to the western music genre so when they become familiar more with America they switched the songs to sound pop-like… nothing wrong but less appealing than their original image/music, which I prefer, I’d say it started to change with not today era. 

The only reason being bts have stuck around now is because of the boy group concept even if the lyrics aren’t that great when translated into English, they’ve already tried and IMO, failed to push their music into the western music industry and they’ve won awards solely based on the fandom/popularity alone kpop has become less and less about the music, energy of the performances, now it's about if they look right together as a group. how the group as a whole appeal to the fans and what makes the fans blinded by them… which is essentially their sex appeal, whether the idols are grown women or men or even teenagers, who might be uncomfortable with fans lusting after them. whether they’re dancing sexy or acting somewhat cute doesn’t matter because it's become acceptable and a must if you want to be an idol so fans can thirst over them. 

Sorry not sorry but kpop has become much less about the music itself and see what is trendy puts it to music and calls it the next big thing. which is a shame I love the language I love how it sounds in the songs & I also love that it encourages me to learn the language that's more appealing than the group image/songs itself but they’re letting looks matter to the point where groups are mistreated abroad by both media and fans alike all because of this group image concept. nct getting mixed up with bts was pure racist but how can they fail to tell how different they are? wait, no, any Asian boys in a group must be considered to be bts… see its just one hype train after the other, even Astro got mixed and when parasite become popular and rightly won the awards some were racist. Trump's comment was appalling but at least he got the country right, yes, everything that's become popularised in America is from South Korea, gold star for that. 

Its the concept of boy groups. not the music itself. if it were music then day6 would have a similar appeal, gain the same momentum as bts/nct have done, yet because they differ from the typical dance style boy group they won't gain the same effect as their counterparts, bts / nct & whoever else. 

Yet they’re still appealing to the wider international audience and did very well with their tours, same for the rose, they don’t trend in the same way boy groups do but have some form of appeal because it’s a different concept/image style altogether than the way bts / nct, etc are put together but still they don’t have the same effect as some of the more dance-based groups have because its a different genre but still from the same industry…

Different genre means less appealing or less popular but I’d say day6 are doing better, producing a greater amount of pleasing music, with reasonable lyrics but don't receive the same amount of popularity. compare to bts / nct who follow similar styles mixed up of what is trendy and call it a day. whereas kpop dance groups throw anything out there and its okay cause fans will lap it up too.

It's not the song that got blackpink to Coachella, its purely the appeal of yet another young women based group, again solely so they can push the feminism, girl power movement through their “songs” but it's their image of youthful cutely acting girls that gains the attention of western men/women… little mix tried it so why not blackpink, heck even fifth harmony failed to maintain the popularity because the appeal wasn’t there in the songs, but they were females in a group, therefore, they must have some form of appeal to the public / recent trends, bandwagons

this is definitely not just a bts problem. for some reason, the bigger a fanbase gets, the more psycho and unreasonable and cultlike the fanbase gets, no matter the genre. army? psycho. beyhive? psycho. barbz? little monsters? PSYCHO. i’m a fan of all of those artists, by the way. i just refuse to associate myself with the fanbases because as a whole, they’ve lost all common sense and have pretty much just become bullies. and twitter is their playground, so i make a habit to distance myself from it and only follow accounts that don’t drain my energy.

bts unfortunately now wields the double-edged sword of being the the first kpop act to break into western markets at this scale. great because they deserve it and they’re helping to dismantle a racist industry little by little, but also not great because it brings out the racist sentiments in people, and in order to compensate for that, the fandom is attacking anyone who isn’t into bts. which i think is stupid! kpop is a genre, just like anything else, and people are  allowed to not like it. i can only think of a handful of country songs that i enjoy--i simply do not like the genre. 

it gets more complicated at an industry level, however, because people usually like what they’re used to, and all the higher-ups in the western entertainment industry are white. they’re not used to it, and they don’t want it, and all poc groups get snubbed because of it. bts not getting enough votes at your radio station from the people who live there is one thing, as that’s regional (and you should be able to say “sorry guys! they just didn’t have the votes”), but bts “not getting enough votes” at the grammys is a whole other ball game, because that’s corporations and racism and politics. that’s a committee of rich white men judging art from women and poc when, as i previously stated, you’re not gonna get it if you’re not used to it.

× I'd be a cat, 100%. Cats are my love and my life, I've always wanted to be one, tbh (not in a furry type of way, but I feel like life would be easier if I was a cat, lmao). I love how cats take no shit and do whatever they want. They're very independent and individual and I'm all here for that.

2. What two anime characters or kpop idols are your type?

× As for anime characters, Jaeha from Akatsuki no Yona and Kirito from Sword Art Online are totally my type!!😍

× And in terms of kpop idols... omg,, how am I supposed to *only* name two?? Hmm, thinking about it, I guess not all of my biases are my "type" per se... but there's two that come to mind right now hhhh. One of them is Kevin Moon from The Boyz, he really ticks off (almost) every bullet point in my list for my "ideal type" and honestly, this list is freaking contradictory and has vvv high standards but Kevin is THAT boi, basically my imaginative ideal boyfriend personified. :') And the second one who I'd say is totally my type is Hwang Hyunjin from Stray Kids. I've always loved drawing him the most of all kpop idols and I still do tbh (but I can't fill my feed on my insta art account with JUST Hyunjin drawings,, you know,,,). His fashion!! I'm so here for it and vibe with it so well. Plus,,,idk,,, I feel like I could connect to him in some ways so ajxjsjdjjs yeah. There's just something about him and Kevin that inspires me so much, I really love these two bois.

× YES. I decided to name a few artists because I realize I've never talked about the artists whose artworks inspire me the most. They're all on Instagram, so I'll be naming their @'s

a.) @/shooky_dough: I'm probably not the only one who knows Nikki, hehe, but her art is SO amazing. She's got this really distinct style which I'd put into the category of semirealism. Her kpop fanart is soooo good and I used her tutorials to learn how to get better at sketching. If you look at the sketches I've been posting for the past few months on my insta art account, you'll notice that they're highly inspires by Nikki's art. She's definitely the artist I'm looking at most in terms of inspiration and improving on my own art.^-^

b.) @/angelganev: His art is sooo pretty. He does semirealism and I've found him by browsing through pinterest to find some art inspiration/references/tutorials. He also does drawing contests in which his followers can draw one of his work he selects in their own style and he gives a shout out to the ones he liked best. It's always interesting!!

c.) @/melmadedooks: This man can draw about ANYTHING, he's so talented. He used to draw lots of his 'dooks' and I've found him through seeing some of his works on pinterest (again, lol). I've actually redrawn two of his 'dooks' and posted them to my art account AND HE LIKED BOTH OF THEM, I WAS SO HAPPY OMG!!! He used to draw his dooks using only one coloured pencil, so I've also started experimenting with that and instead of using a graphite pencil, I used coloured pencils for my sketches and those gave off very different vibes that I really liked!!

d.) @/rezajeez: Probably *the* kpop fanartist I've been following for the longest of times. They are AMAZING!! They mainly do huge photorealistic portraits with INSANE details. It's funny actually, because their work is the complete opposite to shooky_dough's work. While Reza draws photorealism on a big surface (probably A3? maybe more??) and draws very detailed, Nikki focuses more on sketches/more semirealistic and "simplistic" art and it's usually drawn quite small, so seeing these opposites really broadens my horizon, I think^^

e.) Last but nor least, @/rossdraws: In my opinion, he's the modern day Bob Ross! His art is so freaking stunning, have you checked out his digital art landscape series?? The amount of talent this man holds in his pinky finger is more than I've got in my whole body like- OOF a huge inspiration to me!!~

× Either Ouran High School Host Club or Your Lie In April. The first one is just so much fun and I'd love hanging out with the host club members and as for the latter,,, I just really want to be here for Kousei and help him through his anxiety because I know so well how it feels like and I also wish I could sing while he plays the piano, we'd be a great duo✊🏻😔 (I'm sorry, I couldn't choose one)

× There's actually a few things I could name... first, I really want to go bungee jumping (preferably from the Macau Tower, as it's the highest bungee jump in the world😍) but my fam and friends think I'm crazy for wanting to do this but I'm actually quite an adventurous person which probably not many people know about me, so I love doing stuff like that.✊🏻😂

× I'd definitely put food and water in the bag, my phone, earphones, a portable solar charger with a USB cable (so that my phone won't die and I could chill for however long I want while watching kpop mv's and then also use my phone to call for someone to rescue me from this island once I start running low on resources), all the books I still want to read, my art supplies and a few sketch books, some towels that I could use to lay on or use as blankets, a pillow and my teddy bear, and obviously a toothbrush and toothpaste, a hairbrush and a few hair ties and bobby pins (you don't want long sweaty hair stuck to your skin during a hot summer ewww), some soap to wash myself and my clothes, sunscreen and also some insect spray to keep the bugs away!! (it's a big bag, okay)

I really think Bighit should take serious action against her and other fansites like this. Idk how long you've been into k-pop, but years ago there was this really worrysome trend of people going to extremes with idols (ie: sending them creepy presents, trying to bloody poison them, threatening their family/friends). This person sounds completely obsessed and it makes me worry for JK's safety tbh :/

They’ve lined a mug of drink with glue, yes I’ve heard of that. They also sent used menstrual pads to Taecyeon before. I’m very well-versed about this clownery, it’s not any kpop fans proudest moments. Because coming to think of it, sasaeng hid behind the facade of a fan.

What ever they do, the artist will feel like, oh, is this what my fans are like. And it’s really important for us to portray our respectable image, especially in front of our bias group. Sometimes, the lines get blue. For H*L, she probably felt like her money can buy the idol, earn her love and making them happy becomes her ultimate joy.

How was the boys supposed to know that she was cuckoo in the head? They might thank her because gratitude, her gifts are very expensive and usually only available to the top 1% community. Now that the boys see the hefty gratitude they have to pose in order for a fan feel appreciated, BigHit begin to change the rules. And H*L is hiding behind her 900,000 followers.

Some of the followers are unaware of that. Because she posts in korean all her questionable behaviours and not many translators would translate for fear of her seniority. She’s 40. That’s not the majority of the fans but you know what its like in Korea. Older you are, the more power you have. I think thats why she’s stood so long. There’s no other way but to report her. If she deactivates, she’ll just create a new account and fool us all. She could do that. Either she has connection inside the company itself, or she’s lucky enough nver getting blacklisted. Take your pick.

But I agree. Email BigHit. Tell them what’s wrong. But from legal point of view, all she did was words. And it was a private conversation made public. She doesn’t harrass the boys physically. But maybe our ARMY Lawyers is more equipped to talk about that. If any, come up and talk to me
