for once i was gonna go to bed at 9pm like im supposed to but my laundry isnt done till 10pm hell on this miserable world
#the bin#its not done because i waited till 8pm to do it uhh#it only takes 35 minutes to wash but i somehow lost 25 minutes because it was exactly 8pm when i went out to wash it#and it was exactly 9pm when i started the dryer#and drying takes an hour. sad. oh well. qt least ill have clean clothes#i cant stop thinking about coffee also. it actually highley sucks its really annoying my brain keeps replaying the numbers and process#of making stuff. STOP. im not working im not being paid im not getting laid to think abt making lattes so fuck off#well im getting it down at least. my brain will probably stop in 1 week or 2 but it does this with lots of things. makes it hard to play#sudoku or pocross or even solitaire because my brain starts thinking about it all the rest of the time to get my to understand it#by just replaying the same scenarios and info over and over. i blame repetition being the only method of learning i ever had as a child#its useful yes but its also not effective if its the only thing you use. my thinking is very slow and my knowledge of stuff sucks#cause it was mainly memorizing disconnected stuff. well. i shoulr work on that i guess. idk how exactly but ill figure it out one day#i have no idea what ill be doing tomorrow but im kinda hoping ill start with videos tbh. i dont really wanna make coffee tomorrow

Heyo! Nice to meet you!
I've been a villain for a few months now and I just confess, I like Gunil so so much! He instantly became one of my favorite kpop boys since I began stanning. (He's just my type, what a unique and incredible man!) Originally I wanted to request around for more Gunil fics... But honestly I have no idea what to request specifically 😭 I just want to read more about him cuz my crush is big and fat 😂 but I racked my brains and couldn't come up with anything...
So instead, I've had this idea for an OT6 fluff, if it's alright with you! How would XH react to having a very smart and academical s/o? Like, someone who likes to read a lot (not only fiction, but also nonfiction, like science, psychology, philosophy, spiritual books or stuff about social studies) and who genuinely likes studying and learning! They like doing research on many many subjects of their interest (wether those are something as common as space or not so common like learning the biology of marine animals) and they're always spewing out random interesting facts about things 😂 Bonus points if reader also likes solving mysteries and playing puzzle games some people might find boring ( like crosswords or sudoku).
Yes, this is pretty self indulgent 😂 but I'm also just very curious 👀
You are totally entitled to refuse this request if you don't feel like writing it! No pressure 😁 🖤
Nice to meet you too! Welcome to the fandom. I hope that you enjoy your request.
All member ;^o-o^;
Summary: Xdinary Heroes' reaction to having an academic significant other.
WC:684
Warning:grammar
photo not mine credits to owner.
Gunil
Gunil really admires how academically driven you are. Thinks it’s cool how knowledgeable you are. If you're knowledgeable across many varying topics then he would call you a human encyclopedia. He gets really happy whenever you talk or rant about a subject that really interests you. When you tell him a random fact he actually tries to note down the information and remember it. Loves to watch mystery or detective shows with you while trying to figure out who the culprit is together. On the chance that he figures it out before you or he was right and you were wrong he feels very entitled to his bragging rights.
Jungsu
On cold days he always makes sure that you’re wearing a beanie or that your hood on your jacket is up because you gotta protect that smart brain of yours. Jungsu would love to do crossword puzzles or other games like it with you. The members would tease you about being an old couple, but Jungsu would just shoo them away. Jungsu would try to learn some about your favorite topic so that he could talk about it with you. He’d write down the random facts that you tell him in his notes and at the end of the year he’d compile them all together. Almost like a scrapbook of memories, but with all the random facts you’ve told him.
Gaon/Jiseok
You were ranting to Jiseok about a topic that interested you. He jokingly told you that if you like it that much then you should create a slideshow presentation about it. It definitely caught him off guard when three days later you showed him the slideshow. He doesn’t tell you, but he now has it saved on his computer. Lovingly calls you a nerd. Really likes to watching sci-fi shows together with you. Sometimes there is part of him that wished he had the drive that you have about learning new things. He would tease you about playing a game like solitaire, but in reality he doesn’t even know or understand how to play.
O.de/Seungmin
Seungmin treasures how dedicated you are when it comes to learning about something. He thinks you are absolutely adorable as you’re hyper fixated on your laptop, researching a particular subject. Takes candid photos of you researching, might make one his wallpaper. Laughs whenever you randomly spew out a fact, not in a mean way of course. Your random fact spewing brightens his day. Especially if it’s something completely random like shrimps hearts are located in their head. Avidly watches mystery type shows with you and might end up being the more invested one funnily.
Junhan/Hyeongjun
Junhan would love to have in-door dates where the two of you just read together. Sitting on opposite ends of the couch with your legs flailed across one another. Sometimes uses you as his personal internet. If he has a question about something he thinks you would know he’d rather ask you than actually look it up. Would try to race you in completing a sudoku the fastest. He really values your smarts and thinks that it’s really impressive how much wide scale information you have stored in your brain. He would send you things on topics that he found interesting and loves when you do the same back.
Jooyeon
You’re not just any nerd, you are his nerd. When you randomly state a fact he would respond with a “that is something only a nerd would know,”. Even if he teases you about it he still likes whenever you do it. If it’s been a while since you randomly told you a fact he’ll ask you to tell him one. Honestly his day doesn’t feel complete without it. He would really enjoy having a sci fi, mystery themed movie night. You two would turn off all the lights and huddle together under blankets. Occasionally he wishes that he was as academic as you because he thinks it would be nice to research things together, but if he has no interest his brain refuses to hold new information.

Tagged by @dayeongi :) appreciate the curiosity~
Are you named after anyone?
Hm, no. My mom has an uncle with the same name, but he's not the reason for my name.
2. When was the last time you cried?
Just this morning. It's been quite a month, but honestly I do cry easily.
3. Do you have kids?
It's only me and my OCs! And I plan on keeping it that way~ Love kids, but don't ever want to have my own. I'm actually terrified of the idea.
4. What sports do you play/have you played?
I took ballet and swimming lessons as a kid. Then capoeira and contemporary dance in high school, I also gave judo a try once. - I wanna try capoeira again.
5. Do you use sarcasm?
Yes, but usually only around people I'm comfortable with.
6. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Hmmm.... this might sound bad, but their looks. Clothes, hair, accessories, body shape, face features... That's just how my artist brain works, studying details to use later :9
7. What’s your eye color?
Brown~ (also turn gold when I'm blinded by the sun)
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
Usually I would say only happy endings, but recently I've been learning to enjoy horror movies with my sister's help. So I guess both, depending on the mood and company.
9. Any talents?
I have great sense of direction. I can lick my elbow. I can walk without making any sounds (that scares people a lot, it's almost a curse at this point). I give great cafuné.
10. Where were you born?
Recife, Brazil~!
11. What are your hobbies?
Creating characters and redesigns~ Planning and arranging cute pages for my stories on Notion. Also rearranging the furniture around the house. Idk if it counts but little manual tasks to distract the mind, sudoku, dress up games, solitaire.
12. Do you have any pets?
No :( never had any because my siblings are allergic to everything.
13. How tall are you?
1,70m! :) - Not so fun fact: I have such bad scoliosis, I could have been 5cm taller.
14. Favorite subject in school?
I used to like history and biology. My art classes were history as well. And English classes were basically free period for me. But overall I did not like school :(
15. What is your dream job?
"I simply do not dream of labor." I wanna be paid to draw, write, read - create. I also enjoy working "behind the scenes" planning and decorating parties and events, and serving/helping people.

ooh i have some questions too if that’s okay? i heard that as an anaesthesiologist, after actually putting together the anaesthetic, your job is (ideally) boring and you basically just have to sit and supervise in case it goes wrong, is this true? and if so, what do you generally do during long surgeries??
along with this, have you ever had a patient react completely unexpectedly to anaesthetic, or does it all generally fall within certain parameters? and is it true that redheads need more anaesthetic than other people?
hi! awesome questions
so, ideally my job is very boring. we top up meds, keep an eye on the patient, teach and learn. during long cases where there's nothing to do, i like to catch up on emails or play solitaire. it's sort of a joke that all anaesthetists have to choose one mobile game or one physical game like sudoku to play for their entire career.
as for unexpected reactions, we have a few. so specific to anaesthetic we sometimes see anaphylaxis, local anaesthetic toxicity. there's also a reaction called 'malignant hyperthermia' which is genetic, it's super rare but it's a specific anaesthetic emergency that we're all trained in. it's a severe reaction to certain agents we use that causes hypermetabolism in the skeletal muscles. basically, the muscles release calcium ions and cause the muscles to contract, resulting in hyperthermia and a host of other problems. i've only seen it happen once and i've only met one patient who was positive for it, a lot of anaesthetists have never even heard of it happening. it's not super common here but i guess we might have more incidents of it because we're next-door to a country where it's more common.
as for redheads needing more anaesthetic, there's not absolute rule or evidence for it but experience is part of how we assess this and some redheads do report requiring more. one of my consultants is a redhead and says that he's never needed more, studies have shown that it mostly seems to just be variations in anaesthetic requirements similar to people with different hair colours. what works for one person might not work for another, it really depends on medical history, drug/alcohol use, age, sex, etc.

Basic Information
What's your name? Name’s already posted on my Tumblr but so that nobody has to check that anymore, Robyn.
Where do you live? I live in some city east of Manila, and that’s all you need to know.
When's your birthday? April 21st.
What's your astrological sign? Taurus.
Do you actually believe in that stuff? Never did.
How old are you? 22.
Do you have a high school diploma or the equivalent? Yeah I got a diploma.
Do you have an undergraduate degree? If so, in what? Yup. I’ve graduated but I haven’t received the diploma nor did I get to walk on a stage because of the stupid virus, but I majored in journalism.
What is your favorite...
Quote? I don’t have any. My brain doesn’t really store quotes for me to go back to; I don’t find the majority of them interesting.
Color? My main favorite is pink, but I enjoy looking at pastel shades and muted colors in general too.
Song? Picking an all-time favorite song is impossible, but for now I really like putting Hayley Williams’ Why We Ever on repeat. It used to be just a sad song that I love listening to but unfortunately the lyrics have since become relatable, so now there’s a sting whenever I hear it.
Band/singer? My favorite bands are Paramore and Against Me! while my favorite solo act is Beyoncé.
Book? I never had one. I was a big bookworm as a kid, but I didn’t get to keep it up as a teenager and now as an adult. Most of the books I own today are still just the novels I had nearly a decade ago, and it’s been a struggle trying to find a genre to get into.
Author? Same situation as book.
School subject? History. A lot of the social sciences are also great – anthropology, pol sci, psychology, etc. In another universe I definitely would’ve taken up a degree in a social science instead of journalism.
Science (chemistry, biology, physics, etc.)? Biology has always been a strength of mine and a favorite. I find memorizing terms fun, and I’ve always enjoyed studying living things instead of chemicals or energy or force or any of that boring stuff.
Math (algebra, geometry, calculus, etc.)? Advanced algebra is fun. So is geometry, but only as long as you know all the formulas and theories; otherwise it’s so easy to fail it.
Language? I don’t have one. I think all languages are individually beautiful.
Operating system? Wow this is random lol. macOS, I guess. It’s what I’m using.
Instrument? I like the sound of many instruments, but in the grand scheme of things the piano has to be my absolute favorite.
Letter? I don’t pick a favorite letter.
Number? 4.
Car? I don’t know the first thing about cars but I suppose my dream car is a Mini Countryman, if that counts as a favorite. I swoon every time I see one in real life; they’re just so pretty to look at.
Pattern (polka spots, stripes, plaid, etc.)? Stripes are my cup of tea, but polka dots are also cute.
Word? The word that’s been my favorite for a while is ‘poignant.’
Animal? I love animals, but I’m biased to dogs and elephants. :)
Country? I don’t have a favorite country. That’s a pretty odd favorite but *shrug* I guess some people have theirs.
Drink (alcoholic or otherwise)? Water, milkshakes, and cocktails.
Food? Sushi, curry, cheeseburgers, and macarons. You can’t make me go with just one choice when it comes to food, my dude.
Restaurant? Yabu and Torch.
Website? I rely a lot on YouTube for my sanity these days so it’d be fair to call that my favorite, at least for the meantime.
Sport? If it counts, pro wrestling. If it doesn’t, I like playing table tennis and watching volleyball and tennis.
Flower? Peonies, roses, and sunflowers.
Ice cream flavor? Cookies and cream is a classic.
Television show? Breaking Bad is my favorite ever, but I also enjoy Friends, The Crown, and Bojack Horseman, and at one point The Walking Dead before it got honestly boring.
Shirt? I don’t really have a favorite shirt, but my favorite type to wear is anything sleeveless. I like giving my skin air to breathe, lol.
Shape? I don’t pick favorite shapes.
Eye color? Olive is beautiful.
Hair color? I’m indifferent to hair colors. Whatever suits a person.
Movie? Two for the Road and Good Will Hunting.
Gum flavor? Fruity ones.
Random Stuff About You
Do you have your drivers' license? Yeah. I had to get it as soon as I graduated high school because no one else was going to be able to bring me to school in college. I was in driving school like a week or two after marching on stage for my high school diploma haha.
Have you ever been swimming in an ocean? I don’t know if I have. In the vacations I’ve had, I don’t really keep track if I’m swimming in a sea or if I’m already in one of the oceans.
What's the last song you listened to? No clue but it was probably something by Hayley.
Do you prefer coloring pencils, crayons, or markers? Coloring pencils! I miss coloring. I just can’t see myself going back to it at the moment because I had bought a really cheap set of coloring pencils that have to be sharpened every five minutes. During my coloring phase I’m pretty sure I spent more time sharpening my pencils than actually filling in my coloring books. I’ve yet to find a replacement set with better quality.
Can you make any origami figures? If so, what? I’m terrible at origami and have always been. Even if I’m given a one-on-one session, I’ll for sure get lost early on in the process.
Do you still sleep with a stuffed animal? I never did. I always preferred pillows.
Do you get cold easily? I do haha, but I don’t mind it. I’d rather shiver or have my teeth chatter than have a pool of sweat on the back of my shirt from being too hot.
Have you ever been to a chiropractor? Nope.
Do you have great eyesight, or do you wear glasses or contacts? It’s very poor. I’ve had glasses since I was 11, but I needed them a lot earlier, like since I was 8 or 9 maybe. My mom refused to believe me when I started telling her my vision was getting worse because she legitimately thought I just wanted glasses to look like other kids. God, how shitty was that parenting? I can’t believe I just fucking let that go as a kid. My eyesight was getting increasingly blurry by the day and I stopped learning at school and her worry was that I wanted to fit in. I’m gonna get more stressed and hurt if I continue to think about this, so let’s just move on...
Do you know how to play chess? Never learned. I’ve watched my cousin play and he tried to teach me so many times, but I just never understood.
Do you know how to play checkers? At one point I think I did, but I didn’t enjoy it.
Do you like Sudoku puzzles? No. I never got the hang of that game either.
Do you like word searches? Love them.
Do you like crossword puzzles? They’re fine but the ones on our newspapers are too hard and use too many references or plays on words that I’m not able to pick up.
Do you like logic puzzles? It’s a hit or miss.
Can you play any card games? Other than solitaire, no.
Do you play board games? Hmm I played some as a kid, but I’ve always been too competitive and I’m never able to just sit down and have a friendly game so I’m not too big on board games now. I’m a lot happier sitting on the sidelines and watching my friends play because it’s more entertaining that way.
Do you do jigsaw puzzles? Not normally but I’ve been thinking of investing in one of those 1000-piece puzzles to take my mind off of things whenever I get depressed or when my mind starts to think about things it shouldn’t.
Do you listen to the same song on repeat for a long time, even occasionally? Yes. Sometimes I do it on purpose when I’m REALLY feeling a certain song at the moment; other times I don’t even realize the repeat button is turned on and I don’t notice I’ve been listening to the same song over and over.
Do you take any prescription medications on a regular basis? Nope.
Would you prefer to be too hot or too cold? I’ve said this a few questions ago, but too cold.
Do you like to swim? Sure. Being in the water calms me down instantly.
Have you ever been to a farm? I’ve probably been. I just can’t pinpoint a certain memory right now.
Do you like instrumental music? Depends on what the genre is, but I do generally prefer instrumental music when I’m working or have to focus.
Do you drink diet soda? Nope.
Do you drink soda? Andddddd nope.
Have you ever put Mentos into soda? I haven’t but I know what it does. There’s already like a million videos of other people doing it so I don’t need to do it for myself.
Have you ever combined baking soda and vinegar? No.
Did you ever make Oobleck in science class when you were a kid? We never did and I learned about oobleck from watching a Good Mythical Morning episode, not in school. But I’ve always been curious as to what the texture is because it looks so fun to touch hahaha. I’d try making it myself but idk if we ever have cornstarch at home.
Do you know any HTML? Yes. Early days of Tumblr, man. People customized their themes and text posts all the time.
Have you ever read any of Shakespeare's work? Well, yeah. I had to read four of them - one for each year in high school.
Do you write poetry? No.
Do you read? Occasionally. A lot less than I used to.
Can you throw a frisbee? Sure. My friends and I played back in high school.
Do you watch a lot of television? Eh, not really. It’s rare that I discover a TV series I’m willing to invest in; I’ve always preferred movies since they can tell me a story within 2-3 hours. Following an ongoing show is just exhausting.
Do you think that you have a good sense of humor? Humor is subjective. I could mesh well with certain people but others might not find my sense of humor funny. I don’t think either of those can determine if my sense of humor is good or not.
Are you a mean person? Well, I try not to be...I think that’s what most people strive to do.
Do you have any bruises? If so, how did you get them? I have one on my knee because a few days ago I knelt to the floor to try to look for something under my bed, and I ended up landing on the floor quite hard and it was purple in minutes lmao. It’s mostly healed now though and I can barely tell where it is.
Does the thought of public speaking make you nervous? It only does if I ultimately also have to pitch something, because I don’t consider myself persuasive at all. But if I had had something memorized or had enough practice or if it’s a topic I’m fairly knowledgable about then I don’t have much of a problem with it.
Are you afraid of heights? It doesn’t bother me as much as other things and I’ve always wanted to go to the top floor of those towers where the floor is glass lol, but like I’d absolutely piss my pants if I found myself standing on a tightrope between two really tall buildings.
So, what ARE you afraid of? Flying cockroaches, plane crashes, and fire.
Are you listening to music? No.
Has anyone ever called you 'disturbed'? I don’t think so, at least not to my face.
Have you ever been kicked out of a place? If so, where? And why? Yeah. From a McDonald’s, but it was my noisy friends’ fault. I knew they were being loud (they were playing some card game) so I just stayed at the very edge of our table, pretended not to be associated with them and waited for a customer to complain about us lol. Normally I’d speak up and tell friends if they’re being too immature, but in that friend group in particular I was the shyest and didn’t really hold a lot of influence so I didn’t have much of a choice.
Do you take a lot of these surveys? Yeah I have this entire blog dedicated to just them, and even before this account I had another survey blog.
When was the last time you fingerpainted? No idea. Kindergarten maybe? If we even ever did?
When was the last time you sent an e-mail? Yesterday afternoon.
A text message? 1 AM earlier.
Called someone on the phone? I think it was around two weeks ago.
Tripped over something? I’m sure I tripped over Kimi fairly recently, like sometime this week.
Do you like chocolate? Sure but on its own it can be too sweet for me, like the Hershey’s milk chocolate bar. I do love chocolate-flavored stuff or if it’s incorporated into other meals or snacks, like chocolate chip cookies.
How many pillows are on your bed? Right now there aren’t any because I brought the two pillows, that I do normally have on my bed, to my desk where I’m currently sitting at.
Do you have any pets? Yeah one of them is licking their balls behind me. The other one is probably playing with their toys downstairs and miraculously being quiet this morning.
Have you ever been on a horse? Yep.
Have you ever climbed a tree? I don’t think so. Most trees here have fire ants anyway.
Do you like art? Sure do.
Do you use any sort of social networking site? I mean normally yeah, but I’ve deactivated all my accounts for the meantime. Depression is a bitch. I’m no longer updated on the news nor am I familiar with the trendy memes anymore but idk, this seems to be the healthiest thing for me right now.
What time is it? 9:11 AM.
Have you ever been in a car accident? Super minor ones where the car I was in only got a paint scratch or, at worst, a dent or two.
When was the last time you felt embarrassed? Yesterday when I almost sent a message talking about a certain person to that certain person. It was nothing mean, but I was horrified nonetheless.
Did it rain today? No. I’m not sure if it will but I hope it does.
Have you ever had a poison ivy rash? No. When was the last time you felt immensely happy? LOL Do you take a multivitamin or any other supplement? We have vitamin C tablets at home but I’m so bad at taking them. What household chore do you absolutely hate? Washing rags. Not really a chore, but once they get all dirty and I have to clean them up it just feels so icky and ueughdhffgbduifhsuf Tell me something random about yourself. I’ve won a couple of spicy noodle speed eating challenges. Can you cook? No, but I’d love to learn. Do you like to be silly? I’m a little more serious than silly for the most part...but when I’m in the right mood at the right time with the right crowd, I can be silly too. What kinds of things have you wanted to be 'when you grow up'? The first was astronaut. Then I came across this interview with a veterinarian and I wanted to be one too. Lastly, a firefigher. Have you ever been on a boat? Yeah, lots of times. Sometimes it’s the only way to get to certain provinces or cities in the country so we’ve had to take boats for a few trips. Do/did you like school? For the most part, yes. I like that I made a lot of friends in school and I don’t have complaints about learning. What I hated the most about school is the scheduling, I guess. In my first school I had to wake up at 5 AM everyday to catch the school bus; and then in college I had to take several 7 AM classes and those were just the biggest, most inconvenient bitches. I also did not enjoy the concept of Catholic school. Do you have a camera? I used to have a DSLR but I’ve since handed it down to my sister since she’s taking up film. The camera on my phone works just fine. Have you ever been bitten by a tick? I don’t think so.
Have you ever seen a wild snake? I don’t really know what counts as a ‘wild’ snake but I’ve handled and held snakes before. Have you ever gone hiking in the woods? Hmm I’ve gone hiking, but not in the woods. Do you have a lot of friends? There’s a lot of people I can call friends, yes. We aren’t constantly in touch, though. All my friendships are super low-maintenance which I appreciate. Do you keep a diary/journal/blog? I have a journal and this blog where I write my thoughts and emotions down. What color are your eyes? Dark brown. Answering this yet again this week... Do you like snow? I’ve never experienced it so I can’t say. I think I would enjoy snow though. I feel that I’d be able to find comfort in it, like rain. Would you prefer to sing or dance in front of other people? Both sound awful. But I’d go with sing because at least I don’t have to move my body as much. Would you prefer to sing or dance when you're by yourself? Sing.
Can you spell really well? I’d say I can. I was really inspired by the movie Akeelah and the Bee as a kid and that made me want to be constantly good at spelling. Do you mind poor grammar? If it’s coming from a native speaker of whatever language, yeah. Like people who can only speak English but still use ‘would of’ or ‘I could care less.’ I’m more forgiving towards people who speak one language, or those who are speaking in a language they know they aren’t 100% fluent in. What's your favorite texting/IM abbreviation? I don’t have one. ‘lol’ I guess? It’s convenient. Do you wear a watch? No. Do you shop at thrift stores? Sometimes, if I find their offers interesting enough for me to want to go inside. What is your dream job? It’s pretty straightforward but it’d be nice to be able to work my way up and end up as an executive at a PR or media agency that I look up to. What is one thing that really freaks you out? Charlie Kaufman movies. Do you like bananas? They’re okay. I don’t hate bananas as aggressively as I do other fruits. Do you eat meat? Yes. Do you drink coffee? Yuh. I can go for a cup right now, actually...maybe when I finish this survey. Do you clean your computer screen often? Not often. Just every once in a while or once I start seeing too many smudges. Have you ever sneezed onto your computer screen? Probably.
Let's talk about numbers.
How many people live with you?
Four. We also have two animals.
136+95=...?
231. That’s essentially 136 + 100 - 5.
How many digits of pi do you have memorized?
Just the first five.
Can you count using binary numbers?
No. Never understood those, not interested enough to start learning.
How many states have you visited?
Zero.
How many countries?
Six. Would’ve been seven or even eight if Covid never blew up. I know my dad mentioned there were plans for us to go to Vietnam this year, and I also asked for a Thailand trip as a graduation present. Damn bat soup or whatever it was.
How many browser windows/tabs do you have open?
I have three Chrome windows in total. On the one I’m on, there are 13 tabs.
How many times have you blinked in the past minute?
I dunno, I never count that?
How many seconds are in a minute?
60.
Are you afraid of mathematics?
Calculus and trig, yeah. The other ones aren’t so bad.
What's the square root of 121? 11.
Sorry, sorry, the nightmare is over :) How about some more random questions to let you relax?
Have you ever read the webcomic xkcd?
I doubt it. I don’t think I’ve heard of it before.
Can you play an instrument?
Barely.
Can you read sheet music?
Not a chance.
What's your favorite kind of sandwich?
Monte Cristo! Omg, that sounds so good right now :( Banh mi is great too.
Do you have a bedtime?
Not strictly but I always try to get 7-8 hours of sleep on weeknights so that I’m sufficiently energized for work the next day.
Have you ever gone sledding?
No, I haven’t.
Have you ever carved a pumpkin? If so, what kind of face did you make?
Also no.
Do you ever make funny faces at yourself in the mirror?
I guess it’s happened before, but it’s not a regular occurrence.
Have you ever played the classic shaving-cream-in-the-hand prank on someone?
No.
Do you think that's a mean thing to do?
I don’t think that prank in particular is since shaving cream is harmless, but some pranks can definitely go too far which is why I’m generally not a fan of them.
Do you like cake?
Only very certain types. I can think of more cakes that I don’t like than the ones I can never get tired of.
Do you like pie?
Just savory ones, like chicken pot pie. Those are more up my alley than sweet pies, which are for the most part stuffed with a kind of fruit.
Do you like popsicles?
Sure, they’re refreshing.
Do you use the television or computer more?
Laptop.
Do you have a favorite chair to sit in?
Not really lolAre you getting tired of this survey?
It’s lengthy but I knew about it when I started this so I can’t complain about that; and the questions haven’t been annoying too so no, I wouldn’t say I’m tired of it.
Do you like to wear hats? When I have the chance to, yeah. They’re never a must for me though.
Do you wear your seatbelt in the car?
Most of the time no. Oops.
Do your shoes provide lots of arch support?
I...don’t know. I don’t really pay attention.
Do you like to go to yard sales? I haven’t gone to one since I was a kid.
Have you ever had a yard sale at your house? I don’t think we ever did.
Do you like apples? I like some apple-flavored things like juice or candy. I can’t stand the actual fruit but y’all know that by now, haha.
Do you like peanut butter? Yessssssss. I love peanut butter and any peanut butter-flavored food.
Do you like licorice? Not really. They’re not common here so I don’t seek it out.
Do you like lima beans? It doesn’t sound like something I’d enjoy.
Do you like limes? Not particularly.
What color are your bedroom walls? White.
Guess how many questions you've done. I don't know either, so just guess. Before clicking on it I saw it had 200 or so questions, so I’m guessing we’re at the 180 or 190 mark considering how many questions are left below this.
What's your favorite color to wear? I feel prettiest in dark green or maroon. Do you tell secrets when people confide in you? I’m not sure what this is supposed to be asking, but I’ll give two answers. (1) I don’t spill other people’s secrets when they confide in me, and (2) When people confide in me, sometimes I’ll be inspired to share a secret of my own too, especially if it’s relevant to their situation. If I don’t think it’s going to be helpful, I just keep it to myself. Do you listen to your music with the volume up really high? Only when I’m extremely upset or furious. Do you like to try new foods? Absolutely. How many different programs are you currently using? Like applications? Currently, I have Chrome, Viber, and Notes turned on. How many different operating systems have you used? I’ve gone through Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 8, and then whatever updates have been done on macOS since 2015 - I don’t really keep track of their names lol. What time is it now? 12:03 PM. Are you wearing socks? Nope. Are you comfortable with yourself? These days, no. Do you lose small things (like your car keys) often? Hah, yes. Is your mind in the gutter? No. Have you ever broken a bone? I haven’t. Are you more of an introvert or an extrovert? I’m a healthy mix of both, I’d say. Which is still a great improvement for me because I used to be an introvert all the way through. Do you read the dictionary for fun? I literally did this for a time right after watching Akeelah and the Bee and having that movie change my life. It made me want to join a shit ton of spelling bees, but my interest waned when I realized there weren’t any being held here. Tater tots or fries? Fries, only because I’ve never had the first. Do you like to wear flip flops? No. The thongs irritate my skin all the time and they always give me wounds. Are you more of an optimist or pessimist? I’m normally optimistic but it’s easier to be pessimistic nowadays. Do you like animals? Yes :) Do you like little kids? If they aren’t being a giant, rude pain in the ass. Are you a 'people person'? Yes. If I can’t satisfy everyone it bothers me. Have you ever seen a rainbow? Sure. How was your day? I haven’t cried today but I’m still sad. Otherwise, I don’t have a lot of strong feelings about this day just yet. What do you plan to do tomorrow? I don’t know yet. When was the last time you did laundry? Around two or three months ago. Have you ever played Snake? On the really old Nokia phones? For sure. Have you ever played Scrabble? Yeah. I took it up for one semester as a PE, hahaha. I also played it a lot when I was younger. Are there any television commercials that really get on your nerves? At the moment no, but this has happened many times before. Do you like scary movies? Sure. Are you itchy anywhere on your body? The left side of my forehead started to feel itchy when I read this. What's the title of the last book you read? Midnight Sun. Do you read more fiction or nonfiction books? Nonfictionnnnnnn. Are you a member of any clubs or organizations? I used to be, but now I’m an alumna because I’ve graduated college. What color is your favorite pair of socks? I don’t have a favorite pair. Do you own a lava lamp? No. Do you have anything else to say? Thanks for serving as a distraction and letting me kill some time.
#basic surveys are my least favorite surveys#but i also haven't done one in a while so...what the heck have one of them#survey#surveys

y’all asked for a recap of the austin up close and personal shows, so i’m gonna do my best to give that to you. it was pretty similar to the other shows (which already are similar to things you can find in other interviews) so there isn’t a ton of new info here, but here it is anyway. under a cut because it’s gonna be long (and my immense apologies to people on mobile for whom we all know this won’t actually include a cut):
the show begins with the recap clip package from before s5 aired. i was a little sad to see they hadn’t updated it to include any new stuff, but it’s understandable i guess. even though i’d seen it before, did i start crying as soon as it started playing anyway? absolutely. was it amazing to be in a room full of people cheering for david and patrick’s first kiss? fuck yes.
dan and eugene come out on stage first for some father and son shenanigans. eugene jokes that dan is a big longhorns fan, to which dan replies that he doesn’t know what that is. they laugh at both shows about various sections of empty seats, even though the theater is supposed to be sold out. eugene jokes that he came up with the idea for the show while dan makes Dan Faces at him. dan says that they’ve been drinking frosé at the hotel all afternoon. eugene talks briefly about how proud he is of dan, and during one of the two shows you can basically see dan trying to shrink back into his leather jacket and hide--it’s so fucking cute how badly he takes compliments. (also, inserted side note that dan looks incredible, as usual, and i have to commend his commitment to his aesthetic for wearing a leather jacket in 80+ degree weather). and then they introduce the cast--noah, emily, annie, and finally catherine, who for good and obvious reasons gets a standing ovation at both shows.
the discussion starts with eugene and catherine talking about filming waiting for guffman because it was filmed in lockhart, texas, which is part of the austin metro area. they talk about eating a lot of barbecue during filming, and catherine says that that restaurant had a huge mural of like, bloody butchers on the wall, which was of course horribly unappetizing. from there they move into talking about all the couples they’ve played. dan asks if they have a favorite aside from johnny and moira, and they both agree it’s gerry and cookie from best in show. during one show, eugene tells the story of how he and christopher guest came up with the two left feet gag, and catherine jokes that moira’s backstory is similar to cookie’s, in that she has a trail of ex-lovers who consider their time with her to be the best sex of their lives. then they sing “god loves a terrier”
next they move into audition stories from annie, emily, and noah. annie talks about the bad spot she was in before the audition (during which emily cracked up, as is tradition for telling this story)--house burned down, $500 in the bank, blown her first screen test, and considering changing careers--how she read and tested for both alexis and stevie, and how it took 2 1/2 weeks for dan to call her back after her screen test, during which time she of course came to the conclusion she didn’t get either part. and dan when he called, of course was... well, dan, and left her hanging for as long as possible before asking finally asking if she wanted to play his sister. (he defends himself by saying punk’d was popular at the time, and he thought it would be funny.) emily talks about her similarly bad spot before her audition--divorce, no jobs, $800 in the bank--and the rumor that she took her top off during it. dan jumps in to clarify that in reality, she had a great audition and instead of saying thanks and leaving the room at the end, she sat down on the sofa, pulled the collar of her sweatshirt up over her head, and began rocking back and forth saying “that was awful, that was so bad, oh god...” dan also points out that her taking her top off would have done absolutely nothing for him, lmao, which then leads to noah joking that the first thing he did in his audition was take his top off. (I LOVE THEM) dan says noah was “underprepared” for his audition, to which noah argues that he prepared a lot--learned his lines, thought a lot about the character, etc.--but he didn’t watch any of the show, for which dan apparently still holds a grudge against him. he says dan also gives him shit for not having seen paddington 2, and dan reveals the ultimate travesty that noah has also not seen pretty woman.
for the next segment, each actor talks about their character. eugene talks about playing the straight man for once and how that differs from all the other roles he’s played. emily, during the second show, feels the need to clarify what he means by “straight man” since there are other connotations to that phrase, lol.
there’s a brief moira clip package, and catherine talks about the origins of moira’s voice/pronunciation/vocabulary, dropping into the voice to refer to it as “mementos of her world travels” that she “bestows as a gift on the less travelled and less educated [which has about sixteen syllables in it]” as “an amuse bouche of what it’s like to walk in her givenchy shoes.” she also jokes during the second show that it’s a good thing dan didn’t make her audition to play moira because if she had come in with that voice/inflection, they would have thought she was having a stroke. dan asks her if she has a favorite wig--she doesn’t because it would be like asking her to choose her favorite “bébé”--but she does talk about how much fun it is to wear them in ways they weren’t intended, including as a hat, a look she refers to as her “director’s beret.”
annie talks about the influences of the kardashians, lindsay lohan, and the olsen twins on alexis’s speech and mannerisms. she talks about her vocal fry and how it’s essentially such a “lazy fucking way” of talking, as well as the origin of the alexis hands and how it came from the way they all hold their handbags. (her thought process: what if there was no handbag? and what if i turned my hand over? and what if i added another hand?) she also mentions that someone recently contacted her on instagram very concerned for her health because apparently her wrists being like that could be a symptom of some terrible disease. (she clarified that she doesn’t have any of the other symptoms lol). dan says it looks more like she was in a horrific accident, broke both wrists, and just decided not to get them fixed. annie insists that it’s actually very relaxing and that we should all try it before we fall asleep at night, lol. then there’s a whole conversation about the popularity of “ew david” and all the places it’s popped up--lapel pins, doormats, needlepoint, license plates--and annie says someone pointed out on twitter recently that she only actually says it twice in the show. [that’s actually wrong, she says it three times plus an “ew, no, david,” but the point still stands that she says it far less than people think she does.] dan jokes about how he didn’t realize when they wrote that line that people would someday be yelling “ew” at him when he walks by on the street.
emily talks about her similarities to stevie, starting with how they dress, and how much she loves just getting to sit behind the desk playing sudoku and solitaire all day. she says sometimes directors will be like, what if stevie was dusting in this scene? “why?!” maybe she wants to make coffee. “not that coffee!” and so emily stays happy and comfy behind the desk all the time, calling it the best job she’s ever had, and eugene confirms that hanging out behind the desk is indeed pretty nice.
dan asks noah about what it’s like to play basically the only sane person on the show. he talks about how interacting with the roses is a bit like watching a tv show or a family of aliens--it’s entertaining and you’re always waiting for what reference is gonna pop up next to what celebrity they did what with. he says that the day david walked into ray’s, for patrick it was like “discovering a unicorn.” he also mentions that one of his all-time favorite lines from the show is “it’s a general store, but it’s also a very specific store.”
they cover some fan creations, including the taxidermied rats that dan talked about on james corden, a couple of dogs dressed up like the roses, a planter with eugene’s face drawn on it, a little crocheted david and patrick, and a romance novel cover-style manip of david and stevie “behind the scenes” of the turkey shoot.
they talk a bit about cabaret, which is the only part of s5 that really gets discussed anywhere. noah and emily talk about how difficult the dancing was for the “money” scene (dan jokes that it was particularly difficult for emily since it didn’t consist of sitting behind a desk), how they both watched the video of the professionals doing it and thought it looked easy but that it was not. they talk about dan sending them for vitamin drips, and noah demonstrates a bit of the dance that they had particular trouble getting and that led to the choreographer trying to get emily even to just walk rather than doing the move and she still struggled. (here’s a brief video of that bit.) annie also joins in the discussion to talk about “willkommen” and how the choreographer was always so upset that they weren’t nailing the moves the way he wanted them to (her kick toward the end of the routine gets a special mention there), and they would just use the excuse of “well my character wouldn’t be a great dancer” to cover up for the fact that they couldn’t really do it lol. dan laughs about the fact that he wrote himself out of alla that mess.
dan asks noah to talk about his version of “the best.” noah says he knew how much the song meant to dan (they joke in one show about how dan is the kind of person who would hear the original in a club somewhere and beg everyone around him like “okay, but actually listen to the lyrics...”) and how difficult it was to figure out how to take something that’s so poppy and far from his usual style and transform it into something that would work for him. he talks about how dan finally texted him to ask if he could hear it, and he played it in his bedroom 17 or 18 times before finally sending dan one run of it and then didn’t hear anything back for like 4 hours. he jokes that at that point he basically is assuming he’s been fired. and dan jumps in to say that in reality he’d just been sobbing alone in the dark after listening to it and that you shouldn’t just spring that song on someone when they’re sitting at home alone marathoning downton abbey. noah says that what he thinks makes the scene particularly great on the show, however, is dan’s performance as david reacting to the song. dan then talks about the moment when moira reaches out to touch david’s arm and how that wasn’t scripted but was such a beautiful and important moment of support from a parent for their queer child. eugene then jokes that the scene would have been even more poignant if johnny had been included in it, and they argue over why he couldn’t have been there (he was back at the motel with stevie. eugene: “he could have slipped out for ten minutes.”)
dan asks everyone about their most memorable day on set. emily (along with contributions from noah and annie) talks in both shows about filming the cabaret scenes and how it was so great because it was the last day of shooting for s5 and they were in an actual theater with a whole audience to watch them and so it felt like a real, actual theater performance. they were rehearsing it up until the last possible minute, and they only got three takes at it.
in both shows, they talk about the junebugs from the filming of “surprise party” and dan a) not initially knowing what a junebug actually was and b) having a fear of flying bugs. (per dan, “so does nicole kidman. sue us both.”) they talk about all the takes that were ruined because there were so many flying around and how eventually one flew down dan’s shirt and he freaked out, which leads to eugene doing a reenactment of dan freaking out, complete with “fuck this fucking shit!” (the actual version of which you can of course watch in the s1 bloopers) eugene says he wanted to get t-shirts made that said fuck this fucking shit.
in the first show, eugene brings up the golf scene with johnny and roland and talks about the director yelling at them because they couldn’t stop laughing, take after take (which you can watch in the s3 bloopers). he jokes about how it ultimately didn’t even matter because “it’s my show.”
in the second show, catherine brings up the scene of moira and david trying to sell the allez vous products to everyone and how she couldn’t stop laughing because dan looked “insane” with all his tanner and his [intentionally] bad acting (again, s1 bloopers are your friend).
after all that, they play the multi-season blooper reel (which is great because i do always enjoy watching dan say “i never said i was bright, guys, just really fucking pretty” lmao). during both shows, annie and emily sit on the floor to watch it, which is super cute.
then there’s the audience vs cast trivia game. annie picks five audience members to come on stage and compete against the cast. i don’t remember all the questions dan asked, but between the two shows there was at least what’s alexis’s middle name? what does alexis call the mennonites who they get the peanut butter things from on the way to heather’s farm? what was the gift that patrick gave david on their first date? who was the person moira decided to perform a show about for asbestos fest (and a bonus point for the actual name of the show)? what does twyla put in glasses of champagne? what was moira’s character’s name on sunrise bay? and my personal favorite since i got the acknowledgement from dan for knowing the answer, what was the name of alexis and david’s nanny when they were kids? emily hands out t-shirts to the five audience members who played, and the prize for the audience “winning” is of course noah playing “simply the best” and he jokes beforehand that he’s been working on an acoustic arrangement of “a little bit alexis,” which noah, please, actually do the thing. (here’s a tiny video of him performing.)
the show ends with just a few quick words of thanks from dan. in the first show, he mentions that they’re filming the “sixth and final season,” which uhhhhhhhh does not get the warmest of reactions, which is probably why he doesn’t really mention it in the second show.
aside from the discussion of cabaret, there was very little discussion of s5. i think they’re basically still running the script from the shows they were doing at the start of the season, so i guess that makes sense, but it would have been nice to see a little more talk about it. in one of the shows, dan does briefly bring up annie having done both the song and the choreography for “a little bit alexis” herself, and he says they have more footage of her dancing and that maybe they might release some of it as a treat. and then he kind of realizes what he said and goes, “well i guess now that i said it we actually are gonna have to do it...” so maybe we have that to look forward to?
also since there was no discussion of the engagement in the first show, i submitted a few questions for the second show to try to get them to talk about it (some questions more direct than others), and dan did somehow manage to pick one of mine to read, which was asking noah what it was like having dan carry him up a mountain repeatedly. (i know we’ve heard him talk about it already in some of the bts videos, but like i said, some questions were more direct than others, and that was my indirect way of being like, binch let’s talk about what happened on that mountain lolol.) i actually missed the first several seconds of noah’s response because i was too busy dying about dan reading my question (if someone else who was there wants to fill me in, please do, lmao), but i think he made a joke about dan actually carrying him allllll the way up the mountain, and then more seriously he did specifically say that it was impressive for dan to do it take after take because “i’m not a light man.” he also talked about how they got up there and started filming them looking out at the scenery, and that turkey vulture just swooped so nicely right into the shot and circled back out again and how auspicious that seemed. (there you go, @jcams88, confirmation just for you, straight from noah’s mouth, that that they did not edit in the turkey vulture flying around back there.) unfortunately there was no further discussion of the proposal from there, but hey it’s at least a bit more s5 talk than we would have had if i hadn’t asked lol. all the thanks to dan for picking my question and at least giving us this much.
one other random thing that happens throughout the show and made me laugh a lot is that when annie or noah talks about something dan has said to them, they say it in their best impersonation of dan’s voice, and after they’re done, dan’s immediate response is, “okay, first of all, i don’t sound like that,” in the exact same tone of voice they were impersonating. as a running gag, it was solidly funny every single time. i love them all SO much.

for the MCU ask game: tony stark, carol danvers, gamora and vision. thank you
tony stark: what’s your dream job?
I think I've said something similar about this before but it's less a specific job and more what the job allows me to do. I like any job that makes me use my brain and allows creative thinking. There definitely has to be enough variety in daily tasks and a bit of a combinationof easier things and harder things. I need to have the ability to fire rude clients. At some point I wouldn't mind managerial if only to yell at people to do their job (omg). Not being denied vacation time is a must because traveling for me is super important. Some day, it'd be neat to have a job that allows remote work (though it is definitely something you have to discipline yourself in). Or convince my job to allow me to do it.
I really like what I do now, which is SEO and some freelance web design and illustration (mainly portraiture) on the side. I have a steady gig and then can do things I really like without worrying about making a living out of something that fluctuates in busyness. And in my main gig I can see the things I do have an actual impact for my clients' businesses which is awesome. I also get to learn how to do new things all the time so I really enjoy that.
carol danvers: if you had any superpower, what would it be?
The ability to read, write, speak, and understand any language I come across. I keep hitting road blocks with just trying Spanish and man, I'd love this so much. There is a story out there of a guy who had a coma for a few days and came out of it knowing another language (German IIRC). I want that as my superhero origin story. Unfortunately statistically I'm more likely to kill myself in the attempt so no trying to induce coma for superpowers.
gamora: what’s your favorite planet?
Pluto. Don't any monsters dare come tell me it's not a planet. It will always be a planet in my heart.
Fun fact: My grandmother was alive both when it originally became a planet and when it was officially removed of the status.
vision: do you play any video games?
I've been playing Lord of the Rings Online, an MMO, since its launch in 2007- though I've been taking a hiatus this year. Burnt myself out. About 10 years ago I managed to get a not-entirely-legit copy of the Sims and after doing absolutely nothing else during winter break, deleted that crack from my computer.
I'd really like to play some single player games like Oblivion (with the updated character graphic and bug fix mods) and some independent Steam games I've seen on YouTube and Twitch, but frankly put, if I start gaming, I just won't have time for writing and art. I haven't watched a ton of TV and movies recently for the same reason. I don't have enough time in a day to do everything I want; this year's been really dedicated to artsy stuff.
My only exception to the gaming thing is Pokémon Go because it's the only way to get me out to see sun lmao. I also have an unhealthy obsession with quick puzzle and card games like Sudoku and Spider Solitaire that I just rotate every few months.

The Wedding Invitations
Set somewhere in season 8.
“Oh! Oh! oH! WOOAH! Yeah! In your face Dunder Mifflin!” shrieked an excited receptionist, causing the rest of the office to fall silent in curiosity of what was suddenly going on.
Jim and Pam exchanged knowing looks before the pregnant woman hesitantly rose from her seat and waddled over to reception.
“Erin?” she said, a gentle smile resting upon her lips as she leaned over onto the desk in attempt to alleviate the pain from her aching feet. “You okay?”
“Huh? Oh! Yeah..” the younger girl squealed, bouncing in her seat as she brought the envelope to her parted lips. “I just--"
Unable to finish her sentence due to her excitement, she jumped out of her seat and shoved the opened envelope into Pam’s arms. The older lady smiled as she retrieved the content of the envelope and began to read it.
“Go ahead, read it aloud!” Erin sang.
“Uh... Sure.” Pam agreed hesitantly.
She’d known exactly what it was just by looking at the envelope, she and Jim had received an identical golden envelope two days prior. However, she couldn’t decline while Erin stood mere seconds away from exploding with more of those shrill squeaks.
“Erin Hannon, your company has been requested at the celebration of Mr. & Mrs. Scott on April 29th..... Be there or be square.....lots of love Michael and Holly Scott.” she read.
Pam: So, Michael and Holly came to visit us a few months ago and Michael asked Jim to be best man.
Jim: After much consideration, I accepted.
Pam: And by much consideration, he means he said yes immediately after Michael ‘popped the question’.
Jim: I---That’s---okay, listen--
Pam: Michael thought that he had to get down on one knee when asking his best man to do the honors. And I must say, Michael’s proposal to Jim was pretty more romantic.
Jim: More romantic than the day I proposed to you?
Pam: Oh yeah.
“Did you and Jim get invited?” Erin asked.
Pam flashed a smile to Jim, “Yeah we did. Actually Jim is Michael’s best man.”
“Oh!” Erin smiled faintly, before snatching her invitation back. “That’s cool.”
Erin: So, I kinda thought that I’d gotten invited before Jim and Pam. Yeah, I got really excited. But turns out, they’d already gotten invites and Jim is his best man.... I guess Michael remembers me at receptionist number two. But hey, that’s totally fine too! At least he remembered.
“So, your invitation to Michael’s wedding came in today huh?” Phyllis asked, absentmindedly tracing the edge of the reception desk.
“Yeah!” Erin smiled. “Wanna see it?”
The girl anxiously handed the envelope to Phyllis who silently declined. “Uh, it’s okay. I heard it when Pam read it, then when Andy read it and when Kevin tried to read it...”
Without another word, the larger woman regretfully returned to her desk.
Phyllis: So, Michael and Holly’s wedding invitations have been sent out. Apparently, they’re all hand written by Michael. Which in Michael Scott, that means that they’re only inviting the ones that he really likes... I haven’t gotten one.
“Hey, uh, Gabe...” Toby said, hesitantly approaching the lanky man. “May I ask you something?”
Toby: Have I received an invitation to the wedding? Well, ya know.....No... But, something tells me to remain hopeful.
Gabe turned in his seat, "Sure, what can I help you with Toby?”
“Well, it’s uh, about this wedding invitation thing...” He started.
Gabe resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He’d gotten so tired of hearing about the wedding invitations. People were bragging about what had been written inside of their invitations as if it had been written by someone who, well, wasn’t Michael Scott. He didn’t see the appeal.
To be fair, his opinion on the whole ordeal could have a bit to do with his own invite.
“No.” the blue eyed man sighed.
It didn’t exist.
Toby smiled a small smile as he left to return to his desk, not giving Gabe the chance to elaborate on what was inside.
Gabe: No, I wasn’t invited. And you know what? It doesn’t matter. Michael Scott is a part of Dunder Mifflin’s past and as far as I’m concerned. I forgot he existed.....You know, if this office focused their energy on working rather than some poorly crafted wedding invitations it would make my job a heck of a lot easier.
“And so I told her, “If my boyfriend left me in the middle of the food court like that I would just kill myself.” Kelly blabbed to Ryan who had been too busy playing Solitaire to truly process what she’d been saying.
“Uhuh.” he hummed.
“Oh yeah. By the way, my wedding invitation come in this morning.” she said. “I can’t believe Holly never asked me to be a bridesmaid.”
Ryan frowned, “Why would she have asked you to be her bridesmaid?”
“Um, because you need at least one smoking hot bridesmaid to model the dress. Duh.” she snapped.
“Right.”
“Please join us, Meredith Palmer as we celebrate the union of Michael and Holly Scott on April 29th. You’re invited, yes. You have to come to both the ceremony AND the reception. Not just the reception. It’s my wedding day, not just a celebration of free booze.”
Angela rolled her eyes, “Meredith, how could you be so proud to read that aloud? He’s openly insulting you by insinuating that you’re an alcoholic.”
“Who cares?” Meredith bit back. “Where’s your invitation?”
Angela brushed a stray strand of hair from her face before stomping off to her desk.
Angela: No, I didn’t get an invitation and frankly I do not care. The senator and I have a very important dinner that evening anyway.
Andy impatiently tapped his fingers on the edge of his desk, he’d been burning with questions since the start of the work day. He stormed out of his private office to stand in front of the reception desk.
“Excuse me, may I have everyone’s attention please?” Andy asked, clearing his throat. “Can I have everyone in the conference room, ASAP?”
Without any questioning, the conference room was full and all, well most attention had been on Andy.
“It has come to my attention that Michael has sent out wedding invites to his friends here at Dunder Mifflin and--”
“You brought us in here to talk about some damn invitations?” Stanley asked, definitely not amused.
Andy nodded, “Yes, but it was only take a few minutes.”
Rolling his eyes in annoyance, Stanley returned his attention to his Sudoku puzzle book.
“As I was saying, about those invitations...” Andy returned. “Just out of pure curiosity, show of hands: Who here has received an invitation?”
His eyes darted across the room as he called out the names of those who’d had their hands raised, “Tuna and Lady Tuna--Halpert duo, D-Dog--”
“Ugh, could you please not refer to Dwight as ‘D-Dog’“ Angela groaned in distaste
“Right-o. Halpert duo and Dwight.” Andy corrected, “Erin, Oscar, Daryll, Kelly, Ryan, Meredith and wait, Stanley? Really?”
“Is there a problem with that?” he asked.
Andy quickly took a step back, “No, no. Of course not. Alright, well... Everyone return to their stations.”
Andy: How could I not get invited? I mean, he invited Stanley? STANLEY!
The regional manager put on a brave smile until the only person left in the conference room was Dwight, who only looked at him and confidently brushed past him to return to his own desk.
Dwight: So, Phyllis, Toby, Creed, Gabe, Kevin, Angela and Andy didn’t get invited to the wedding? How interesting.
“What’s in the box Dwight?” Jim asked as the bespectacled man stood in the break room brooding of a small, unlabeled cardboard box.
Dwight scoffed, “Right as if I’d tell you.”
Jim flashed a glance at the camera before sipping his coffee, “You know... I think I overheard the others guessing what you had in there. Wanna know what their guesses were?”
“I do not.” Dwight said, abruptly leaving Jim in the break room alone.
Jim whipped out his cell and sent a text to Pam, asking her to join him in the break room.
“Hey, what’s up?” Pam asked, absentmindedly rubbing her belly.
“You notice that Dwight has been walking around with that cardboard box all day?” Jim whispered, careful to not interrupt Creed who’d been reading a newpaper.
“Yeah.” she said, placing her hands on her hips. “What about it?”
“I’m almost positive he’s hiding something. He won’t let it leave his side.” Jim said, “He even carried it to the bathroom with him.”
“Ok, gross.” Pam frowned.
“We need to figure out a way to get the box away from him.” Jim said, rubbing his chin. “I think I have an idea.”
“Good morning all.” said the CEO as he placed his hat on the coat rack.
Everyone immediately scrambled for something to make themselves appear busy.
“Good morning, sir!” Erin smiled.
“Ah, Robert. Good morning.” Jim said walking over to Mr. California. “May I speak with you privately?”
“Halpert.” he said, looking Jim in the eyes in an attempt to read him and get a gauge on what he wanted to talk about. “Is this about a raise?”
“Uh, no. It’s not.” Jim said. “The uh, email you sent me?”
“Then, let’s get down and dirty.” Robert said, gesturing to his office. “Shall we?”
Jim nodded and walking into the room, the CEO following close behind. Pam watched out of the corner of her eyes, trying her best to hide the smirk threatening to grace her lips.
Pam: So, Jim and I learned that the great Robert California has a hard time working through his email. And sometimes, he accidentally sends emails to the wrong people. So, if you go up to him and say “About the email you sent me” he will bring you his office and ramble about random things that make no sense.
Jim: Ultimately it’s about random emails he’s sent throughout the day but the things he apparently emails about are fantastically entertaining.
Pam: He doesn’t really give you a chance to tell him exactly which email he’s talking about. So, Jim and I conjured up a plan to tell Robert that he had received an email about a promotion for Dwight.
Jim: Which buy us just enough time to swipe the box see what’s inside and put it back before he even realizes it’s gone.
She quickly gathered some papers and made her way over to knock on Andy’s office door.
“Ahh, if it isn’t Lady Tuna and Mini Tuna!” Andy smiled, “Come on in.”
Pam quickly closed the door behind her.
Jim emerged from the office, wearing a face of varying emotions as he returned to his desk.
“Can you believe it?” Jim said to Dwight. “This guy is actually thinking about investing in the beet farming business.”
Dwight slowly turned his attention away from his computer.
“I actually told him that there weren’t any beet farms near by so I couldn’t give him an idea on what business would be like here in Scranton.” Jim said. “Pfft, that’s-- I can’t believe I lied to him... I totally forgot about Schrute Farms. I need to go back and put in a plug for you--”
Dwight quickly stood to his feet, “No, you stay right here. You’ve screwed this up enough.”
Without so much as a glance at his mystery box, Dwight stomped over to Robert’s door.
“Ah, Mr. Schrute. Just the guy I needed to see.” Robert said, “Come in, close the door.”
Jim: And I learned that if you go up to Robert about investing in any non- conventional business, he will be all ears. So, it’s like a double whammy.
Jim quickly swiped the box into his arms once Dwight closed the blinds to Robert’s office and he joined Pam in Andy’s office.
“Alright, you guys. As regional manager, I should say that it does not look good that I am condoning the theft of someone’s personal belongings and--”
“Shush!” Pam hissed.
Jim carefully unfolded the flaps of the box, careful not to rip anything as he opened it.
Everyone gasped when they realized what was inside.
“Are those--” Andy started.
Jim reached into the box and sifted through the envelopes, “Kevin Malone, Phyllis Vance, Angela Martin, Creed Bratton, Gabe Lewis, Toby Flenderson Trashy Shiterson, and---”
“Andy Bernard!” Andy cheered. “YES!!!!!!”
Andy: “Nard-Dog, you are cordially invited to the union of Michael and Holly Scott on April 29th. It’s gonna be the kickass party of the year, yo!” How could I possibly have believed that Michael would have forgotten about little ol’ me?
“This is awful!” Pam whispered, “This is exactly why Michael should’ve just mailed them all to everyone’s houses rather than to the office.”
Jim nodded, “Yeah, well I was trying to do everyone a favor by not giving him everyone’s addresses.”
“So, what are we gonna do?” Andy asked. “We’ve got to let these guys know that they actually did get invited.”
“I’ve got an idea.” Jim smirked, “But Andy, this won’t work until we get you to cooperate.”
“Sure, anything!” Andy nodded.
“I’ll go return the box.” Pam said swiftly exiting the office with the box in tow.
“I got an anonymous call that an employee in this building is feeling unsafe and is requesting that I do a check.” Hank the security guard said.
Andy exited his office, putting on his best serious face, “Hey, Hank. What’s the problem?”
“I gotta check everybody’s bags and make sure nobody is carrying anything threatening.” he said, an annoyed undertone in his voice.
“Alright, everyone. Hank here needs to take some security measures. Please cooperate. It’s going to be quick and painless so long as everyone cooperates.” Andy said.
Hank sighed as he walked over the reception desk. “Bags: briefcases, purses; box: plastic or cardboard; Anything that can hold or conceal any item. Put ‘em on your desk. Imma start with you little lady.”
“O-Oh! Uh, okay!” Erin said, quickly slamming her cross body bag onto the desk.
Everyone watched has Hank conducted his search, he’d gone through nearly everyone’s things except Jim, Dwight, Pam and Andy’s.
Eventually, he’d made through everyone’s things but when he’d gotten to Dwight. He’d finally gotten some resistance.
“You do not have to go through this. It’s just an empty box. Can’t you tell by how light it is?” Dwight spat.
“Oh come one Dwight.” Kevin groaned. “He’s gone through everyone’s stuff.”
“Yeah, just let the man do his damn job.” Meredith added.
Kevin: When Hank was going through my briefcase, he found a couple of condom wrappers; empty. I was pretty embarrassed. Now, people are going to start thinking I have sex in this office.
Hank opened the box and pulled out the contents of it. Everyone’s eyes shifted to the person next to them when they realized how familiar those golden envelopes looked.
“Dwight stole the remainder of the wedding invitations?! Gabe asked.
Everyone gasped, and soon the entire office erupted with chatter.
Oscar: What an interesting development. Dwight actually hid the invitations from these guys? You know what? That’s a new low. Even for him.
Kelly: As it turns out, Dwight was hiding the invitations all along. That’s pretty crazy, right? I mean, I knew he was mad that he wasn’t Michael’s first choice as best man but neither was Jim. Originally, Michael wanted Ryan. I wonder what he would have done if he knew that he wasn’t even second choice.
Ryan: I totally knew about Dwight stealing the invitations. Michael texted me and told me that he sent a bunch of invites here to the office. Dwight picks up the office mail and leaves it for Erin to sift through. Why didn’t I say anything? Well, he bought my silence after I asked him for mine. 200 bucks.
Toby: Would you look at that? I actually did get an invitation. It wasn’t the nicest thing I’ve ever read but it’s better than nothing. I should remember to thank Holly for getting me a spot.
“Dwight, how could you?” Angela spat.
Dwight walked away from the angry blonde to the break room where he could reflect on his mistake.
Dwight: I simply failed to consider every possible angle. I should’ve put them where no one in this office would have thought to look. The handbook drawer in the annex.
Jim: In search of entertainment, we found this. And it was interesting-- To say the least... But I guess, in a way, Pam and I are heroes.
END.

Do we really have too much time?
Hello my old friend…
I used to blog occasionally many moons ago, and then l didn’t. Let’s blame time.
All of a sudden, the world came to a stand still and everywhere countries locked down. All of a sudden, I have “time”.
When I heard about South Africa’s lock down and what it would entail, like many people, it took me some time to process. Like many, I had a moment of panic, and then thanks to many, I came up with a plan to help me find peace to take on the next 21 days.
“They”, whoever they are, say that it takes 21 days to form a habit and so I decided I would like to use this time, to form and re-form some new habits. One of them being to write and blog again.
In discussing this with a close friend of mine, and after she came up with some fun things to write about, we decided, that everyday for the next 21 days, she will provide the title on that day, for that day.
So, there is my very long intro as to the potentially random blogs that will follow.
Albert Einstein said that “the only reason for time is so that everything doesn’t happen at once” and that “Time and Space are modes by which we think and not conditions in which we live”. I had this grand idea that with sufficient time, I could really do anything, I can finally sort out the Tupperware cupboard, I can reorganise my wardrobe, spring clean the house, learn how to code and start a few businesses. (I still think I can) I do however, due to lack of motivation, find myself, playing hours of sudoku and solitaire and constantly checking “worldometer” instead of being super productive.
I, with the prompting of my husband, realised over these last few days that unless I do not ‘organise” my time, I end up either doing nothing or attempting to do everything. Working from home could now mean working all the time (to be honest, this has not happened to me yet), or on the other hand, not working at all.
Neither one of those a good and balanced use of our time. It dawned on me, that in order not to waste my time, I have to plan, I have to prepare, I have to prioritise. I have already lost 3 days that I can not get back- granted I got a lot of rest (but I get that anyway, I work efficiently 😉)
I realised, time is fleeting, once it has passed, it is gone, never to be retrieved again, except the memory of what you filled that time with (I am getting better with Sudoku thoug). With every passing second, we are a little older. What I have realised these last couple of days is that “time” is irrelevant. We will always have enough or make enough time, for the things that we are interested in, that we are motivated to do.
A day can go really fast or really slow- time is just a construct. Time is just a way of thinking and in most cases, just an excuse. If we really know how precious and futile a moment is, and what can happen in a moment, what can be learnt in a moment and what can be experienced in a moment, then we will appreciate a moment more and fill it with things that we deem worthy at that time.
We have three weeks to spend with the ones we love. Three weeks to start things, to create things, to rest, to find peace, to find healing, three weeks for whatever we need. Even within the chaos, even in the midst of panic, even in these circumstances.
We can either choose to fill the moments with things of value to us, things that inspire us and give hope and peace or to lose those moments to the chaos, to the fear, to ignorance.
It is up to us whether time will be enough…
