#i do love lydia “rook” laidir very much but to be honest i'm also kinda struggling with her#i never really intended to have an oc who'd been a enslaved before#bc idk if i could do something like that respectfully (as a white person)#and so even tho the threat of slavery was always going to be part of lydia's story as a tevene elf#i had planned to do a “but then she and her family escaped before that could happen!” thing with it#but then veilguard makes it canon that the lord of fortune rook *was* a “tevinter galley slave”#idk how i feel about that?#and i'm like nervous to develop her bc I don't want to accidentally play into shitty tropes or stereotypes#anyway. it's late. i'll figure it out i think#but like. i'm just a person who's doing their best#so while it's not an excuse i'm sorry in advance if i end up making some out-of-pocket development#i *do* love lydia laidir and i want to make her work as an oc#so i'm gonna try and be as respectful but also as realistic as i can#i don't wanna just erase any flaws she'd have yknow?#marie speaks#lydia laidir
