I watched the movie a third time. Because I'm Very Normal about this movie and Not At All Obsessed.
And a thing i noticed this time (i don't think i will stop noticing things for a while lol) is how well they did things that other stories normally always lose me with?
.....okay that was very openended, this movie did so much what others didn't lol.
I'm talking about threat-escalation specifically though lol
Spoilers under cut.
Second parts of movies books series you name, often lose me the moment it goes from 'hey I'm new to this thing and damn i gotta save my friends' to 'hey let's go save the world'. Bc idk a lot of the time stories lose the part that actually made them interesting in that transition.
Also i just like the low-threat situations. I like friendly neigbhor hood spiderman that has to save one city and not the world. i like there to be consequences that can't be justified with 'well we all gonna die if we don't do this so it doesn't matter and nothing is on the table besides that'. I like it when the stakes are 'I need to somehow deafeat the villain, not die, keep my job, not jeopordize my relationship with my family/friends/partner etc and this is getting really complicated now'.
But this movie did smth really really interesting by yeah, raising the stakes, but also like. not. It wasn't a thing of 'hey we need to create more tension to show how Serious everything is now and because last time we saved the city lets now save the world'. The threat from the first movie? It just never went away. We just didn't know it.
Like, the first movie was 'let's not destroy the multiverse' and the second movie also has the general theme of 'gotta stop the destruction of the multiverse', but also Miles primary worry is 'gotta save my father'.
Which is the opposite of what normally happens. The threat Miles specifically worries about isn't the destruction of the multiverse. It's his father death. In a way the stakes have been at same time been held up, upped and lowered.
Held up, because 'the multiverse is dying' is still very much a thing.
Upped bc there's a frame in Miles vision about the Spot where like most of the spiders lie dead to the feet of Spot (maybe) implying that even if Miles did defeat him it could lead to all the multiverse being without spiders.
i need to get my hands on that movie so i can actually show what i mean instead of always relaying on my memory lol
Lowered, because Miles main priority currently is his dad. One person. (not that he doesn't want to save them all, but his father is like. A main priorty that nobody else has) and a lot of the time sacrficing ppl for the good of the world is a Thing that i simply don't like in stories, because it often contradicts the original message from 'saving one person is important' and makes it too large-scale and suddenly it is okay that people die, because the world is at stake and nothing matters.
In the same lane, a good part of the movie wasn't a epic battle against a invulernable being. It showed Gwen doing her usual job, Miles doing his usual life (the mf pigeons he avoided to get in his room lol, love to see you growing my dude) and even in the Spidersociety there had been just. Business as usual. Until they all tried to catch one fiveteen year old Spiderling and failed. (That was so good. It was so good. Miley my boy, that was epic)
(Is there any indication for how long the spidersociety exists, actually? Did it really only start after the collider incident in Miles world? gonna have to keep an eye out for that, bc if yes that means that Miguel has one hell of a year or two behind him)
And in the midst of all of that the movie never lost their jokes. It was dramatic and tragic and i laughed tears. The whole theater collectively snorted at scences, winced in sympathy and had a collective outrage at the cliffhanger. A lot of the time when things get serious, get tragic, stories become to heavy and the few light hearted scenes tend to feel forced. But this movie was like. yeah. We're up against the destruction of the multiverse, but Mayday also needs to take a crap and not even Miguel is going to get away from that no matter how stone faced he remains in the combined force of Peter B., Hobie and Mayday.
Another part of the Dramatic Doom Trap has been so easily sidestepped by the movie like its. easy. (It's not. It's really not. I can not emphatize enough how well made this movie is and how often it takes easy traps to fall into in modern media and just bounces around them like they mean nothing.) The threats faced are all consequnces of actions. It's very directly related to decisions that have been made, some by our heroes, others by our bad guys. And therefore the threats are directly tied to the future decisions of the characters. Their internal struggles are not a B-Plot, not a side story. Not a 'oh we remembered that you were teenagers so you have to worry about the destruction of the world and your crush to keep it #relateable' . It's interwined with the main story line, in a way it IS the main story line.
Miles struggle with who he is and who he wants to be is evident in all the layers of his life. In the way he interacts with his parents, his decisions about his future (the whole scene in the counselors office?), the way he treats his villains (cracking jokes about Spot, then the whole thing about 'villain of the week'), his struggle between being Miles, son of his parents, and Miles, the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and how no one truly knows who he really is, the way how this inner conflict comes to a climax against all the other spider-people, how the 'Imma do my own thing' is the answer to a lot of his 'side-struggles' but also directly tied to the very heavy and big question of 'destruction of the multi-verse'.
Gwen's struggle with her father about what is right and what is not is in a way the same struggle she has with the spider ppl about what is right and what is wrong, just on another level and the other side of the coin. The same issues that make her unable to find a band makes her unable to ask for help with the whole Spot-situation at the beginning. The same struggle about right or wrong in combination of her inability to trust, rules/canon or gut feeling, makes it that she doesn't talk to Miles about what is going on, kickstarting a lot of the plot just as much as Miles actions did in the first movie. Her decision, resolving of her struggle, to talk and to take things into her own hands is the same for her band and for her to gather ppl to help Miles, to go against the 'rules'.
(I mean 'creating my own band' is a pretty nifty metaphor for 'following my own rules'/parallel to Miles 'i create my own story')
(Do i even need to mention Hobie here again and how he was the literal embodiment of the whole thing?)
My point is, Miles is not just about to rewrite the rules of the multiverse because that's what the story needs, Gwen isn't just gathering allies because it's very convnient to have support for Miles, both things are direct results of their struggles throughout the whole movie (and the one before that). And that makes it so damn interesting to watch.
Btw shoutout to my friend that i dragged along, that hadn't even seen a trailer and came out of this thing shell shocked and looking like they weren't fully in this world yet (understandable) just to have me vibrating out of my skin next to them finally able to talk about all the things and parallels and theroies that currently dictate my entire exsistence and never complaining once about but only suggesting that we should do cosplay about it. (Neither of us has ever done cosplay).

lucifer
There's a sudden shift in the air before you tell Lucifer the news. He sensed it as soon as you found out; a profound feeling of grief overwhelmed him. Tears began to trickle down his cheeks, and he raised a gloved hand to make sure he was truly crying. This was strange, unprompted, out of the blue. Lucifer didn't know why he was crying, why there felt like a hole was in his chest, but then he remembered. Of course, how could he forget?
His pact with you made his and your emotions almost completely connected. He was usually very good at controlling your shared emotions, though. Whenever you felt angry, he could control his urge to scream. When you were happy, he'd control the want to shake his arms and squeal. When you were nervous, he'd control his instinct to shift and fiddle with something on his person. Why couldn't he control this, too?
"My dear boy," he murmurs, wiping away some stray tears that slip down his face. The sight before Lucifer breaks his heart. You're standing in his now open doorway, your form shaking with silent sobs. Your hands are tightly wrapped around your phone, its screen still illuminated with the text from your [mom/other dad/guardian]. This didn't feel real. You couldn't believe it; you didn't want to believe it.
"I'm sorry," you cry. Your words are barely recognizable between the loud sobs that escape your throat. "I'm so sorry, Lucifer, for coming to you like this. I just, I didn't know who else to tell this to."
Lucifer places a hand on your shoulder. Your phone clatters to the ground as you rush over to hug him. You throw your arms around his waist, bury your face in his chest and scream. It's partially muffled by Lucifer's clothes, but he still catches how defeated it was; how broken and filled with anguish it sounded. All Lucifer can do is hug you back tightly, lovingly, and hope that you understand his intention: to comfort you. To say “It’ll be okay” without disrupting your grieving.
Lucifer begins to rock you side to side, as if he’s holding a baby in his arms. “My dear boy,” he repeats.
All you can do is wail in response, causing the Avatar of Pride to hug you tighter.
asmodeus
The Avatar of Lust thought himself very good at reading people. He’d know exactly what the other person wanted to hear, and he’d say it, even though he probably didn’t mean it. Asmo would spew out compliment after compliment just to get what he wanted, and he never thought it bad. He didn’t know what to say in a situation like this, though.
“MC?” Asmo gently cups your tear-stained cheeks, a remorseful expression adorning his pretty face. He tilts his head to the side, confused. “What’s wrong, my sweet boy?”
You stare up at the demon. He’s blurry. Everything in your vision is blurry. You can barely breath from how badly you were panicking. You would have passed out if it wasn’t for Asmo walking in on your breakdown.
“Asmo,” you whimper. More tears slip down your face and land on Asmo’s thighs, soaking the fabric. He’s kneeling in front of you, his knees between your own.
“Asmo, I...” You sob, closing your eyes. The demon holds your head up while the rest of you goes limp in his grasp. “My dad,” you choke out. “My dad, he....”
“Oh MC,” Asmo whispers. “I’m so sorry.”
You shake your head. “I don’t... I can’t talk. I-I just....”
“Then don’t talk,” Asmo leans back, taking you with him. He holds you close in his grasp as you rest between his thighs. You lay your forehead against the Lust Avatar’s chest and cry. You shake with sobs as Asmo just hums a small, soothing tune.
“Sweet boy,” he whispers. He doesn’t know what to say to help you. He wants to try, but he knows words won’t solve anything.
Oh god what he wouldn’t give to be able to take away all of your pain with just a few words. You were still just a kid in his eyes. A child exposed to something so awful, something even he doesn’t like to think about: mortality.
“MC,” he hums. “Deep breaths.”
You breathe in deeply, then shakily exhale. You laugh, and Asmo never knew a laugh could sound so defeated. “I’m ruining your clothes.”
“I don’t care.” Asmo holds you tighter against him. “You need someone now more than ever, I’m not going to leave just to change into something less expensive.”
You laugh again, shaking your head. A tiny smile manages to grace your lips before you’re back to crying, and Asmo goes back to rocking you side to side, humming as he does.
barbatos
There’s a small knock at the castle door as the Demon Prince’s butler finishes up around the throne room. Barbatos looks up, then outside at the moon that’s high up in the grim Devildom sky. He blinks, then slowly makes his way over to answer the door.
“Who could it be at this hour,” he thinks aloud to himself.
The doors are heavy; anyone not used to the weight would have trouble opening them, but Barbatos shows no signs of struggling. He pulls open the doors with ease and is greeted with a curious sight: you. You, clutching something close to your chest. You, with a blank, emotionless look on your face. You, with no light in your once bright eyes.
"MC?" Barbatos furrows his brow. "It's late, dear. Come inside."
You don't respond. You can't respond. Your voice dies in your throat the second you even think about talking. You nod your head, taking a small step forward. Then, you shake your head furiously. You're so exhausted. You haven't the energy to do anything after the news. It took all your strength to run up here in search of Barbatos. Your body is tired, and your mind is drained. All you want is to ask your question, but hell, you can't even move anymore.
"MC." Barbatos gently grabs your shoulders. He tilts your head upwards to look into your dim eyes and you watch as a brief look of sorrow washes over him.
"Oh MC," he whispers. "Darling boy, I'm so sorry."
You look away, but even that begins to take an immense amount of energy.
"MC, I can't.... You know I can't." Barbatos pulls you close. "When rescuing you from mortality, I broke a lot of rules. I can't do that again."
You go limp in his grasp. Your father's gift that he gave you before you came to the Devildom clatters against the stone steps of Diavolo's castle. You close your eyes as Barbatos holds you tightly in his arms.
"Then can you send me to him?" You finally speak. Your voice is barely above a whisper. "If not I might do it myself. Barbatos, I... I don't know what to do."
"Life is precious, MC." Barbatos's voice is stern, almost angry. It makes you shut your eyes tighter. "Your father wouldn't want that. He'd want to see you flourish."
You don't respond. Barbatos feels like there's a hole in the pit of his stomach. He feels as if he himself has just lost something. He supposes that he did, in a way. He lost whatever part of you that you just lost. Thinking that, he hugs you tighter. So tight that it's almost painful. He's cold, you notice, and you're so warm to him.
His dear boy. His child that he'd do anything for. He can't help but feel guilty about that. He wouldn't do anything for you, he realizes, for he won't even bring your father back, even though he knows it will help you.
"I'm sorry, MC." He repeats.
You say nothing back, but the way you nudge his chin with your head tells him everything.
"I'm so sorry."

Raul
I forgot how much i love this man, like i love his character and usually rich guys aren’t my cup of tea, they usually come of as whiny like Natalia or like in other shows i’m sure you know the type i’m on about, but i can still appreciate she is well written. Raul i do wish Sofia ends up with and hope they give him a nice redemption arc in S2.
My favourite moments of his during my re-watch:
>He gives Luis money like i prefer for him to still be alive... (1x01) >When he sits next to Sofia outside’s the principal’s office and just sinks in the seat (1x02) >How he made her smile by proceeding to tell her indirectly he felt better because of her. The kid just wanted to be loved. (1x02) Sidenote: i remember it was the office scene after this where i thought he was behind some of it. > I do resent Raul’s character a bit for making Luis take the blame, same with Gerry, i feel like a bit of sympathy for the guy but hate what he did to him >not about RaĂșl but i forgot about how much of an amazing job they did making it out Sofia was dating an older man. >I love me some flirty banter, ‘see you can worry about someone without having a crush’ - SofĂa is a great main character. (1x03)  > I know he didn’t want Luis to get hurt but i do blame him partially for his death, also that solo shot on Raul running away after Gerry’s knockdown highlights he’s finally realised what he’s caused. Also I started to like Gerry’s character towards the end but my god do i hate him because of Luis. Gerry deserved so much better man, but i liked that he died from a story-telling point of view (1x03)  > You cannot convince me there was any other reason Raul wanted Sofia to meet the hacker at his party other than wanting Sofia to be at his party (1x04) >Damn! i forgot about the laundry scene. ‘you never have time [...] time for me’  *chef’s kiss*  (1x04) > i never get people that tell other ppl to not flirt with the person they like when they’re one not in a relationship two not actively trying to purse a relationship. like if u want the person you like to be yours then trying asking them out that’s and if ur not gonna do that then u can’t dictate who they go out with. This goes for both of them. (1x05) > Still can’t believe he was that dumb to believe that, such an obvious trap (1x08) >Argh that scene with Gerry holding the gun contemplating his own life, I remember watching it the first time thinking they couldn’t make me feel any sympathy for the man but the scenes with Luis’ mother, they really did it.  (1x08) > That last scene where Gerry has they gun to his head because Raul is threatens to tell Luis secret was great writing, and so much better than what i originally expected to be Gerry going to kill Raul, because after Luis he learnt his lesson.  (1x08) > I do hate Raul for what he did to Luis too but I have a soft spot for him.  (1x08)
//This is written and posted before i watched S2 so if u want to talk more about his character can u please not mention anything s2 or hint towards it no matter how minor//

Bless that post. I love the aro/ace headcanon, but I also love all mc/charlie shippers. Basically, I'm very very Pro-Ship and like... I've seen the people who headcanon aro/ace charlie get really hostile and weirdly aggressive over it. I'm pretty sure one person even deactivated their account because they dared to call out the harrasment and were in turn harrassed themselves. Fandom is supposed to be fun and shipping should never be about activism like some ppl are trying to do and it boggles me
Thank you. Given the extremes people go to on this site, it’s nice to see someone else who agrees with me about keeping these things measured and respectful
Honestly, my breaking point the other night was that I happened to see an anon on one of the really popular blogs in the fandom. All they said was that they were a fan of the ace headcanon, but they saw a lot of the negativity in the tag in regards to the Charlie/MC ship and were worried that if they started posting their stuff regarding it that they’d get backlash or get seen as insensitive. The whole thing looked like someone who was very anxious asking someone they respected if they thought it would be appropriate. They probably trusted that blog to be mature and give them some reassurance
The response they got was basically (I’m paraphrasing here) “The ace ‘headcanon’ is undeniably canon, you can still post your thing but just know that it’s not canon and nobody has to like the fact that you posted it. I don’t know what hate you’re seeing, but I haven’t seen it and I don’t think it exists.” Which is, like
denying that anon’s experience and brushing off their fears is just a shitty thing to do to someone who was obviously nervous and looking for reassurance. And also completely wrong. Just because you can read that interpretation into a canon line doesn’t mean that your interpretation is completely canonical. Dating and romantic or sexual attraction are not the same thing. And it’s bad enough that that response is getting a good amount of notes
But what really pissed me off was a response I saw from someone else on that post. This person immediately accused that anon of intentionally overreacting and fishing for sympathy, crossing the line by asking someone they respected about their opinion of the discourse, and trying to deny asexual people representation. And they had the nerve to go on about how “people you thought were nice are turning out to be shitty people.” And then told that anon to grow up
That is absolutely disgusting behavior. Even if Charlie was canonically aro/ace, it would be going too far. Nobody knows anything about that anon, because they’re a goddamned anon. For all anybody knows, that anon could’ve been a kid or young teen who legitimately wanted to be respectful to the ace/aro community and thought it best to ask someone they respected what their opinion was. This is exactly what I was afraid was going to start up. That the second somebody showed that they didn’t agree with the popular interpretation or, god forbid, admitted that they don’t know enough and wanted another opinion, that they’d get slammed and harassed, with accusations made about their character. A character that we can’t even truly know because this is the internet and it’s easy to read whatever you want into these things. You’re not “educating” anyone, you’re just making them not want to learn
And then that original blog had the gall to tell that anon that they didn’t see any reason why they’d be afraid of harassment. When that aggressive, uncalled for response was a response on their post
The best part? Not only did that anon directly cite a post that had bothered them in a later ask, but they admitted that they were ace and questioning aro and just didn’t see why that line made the interpretation canon
And the person who slammed them? Not aro/ace.
As far as I can tell, that anon never got an apology. The sidequest isn’t even out yet and the fandom has already devolved into people making assumptions and yelling over actual ace people over their own representation and refusing to see a problem with it. In fact, they think they’re in the right because quite a few popular blogs agree with them. That anon could’ve been a kid. Are we really going to scream at people who might be kids over a headcanon?
Not a single, goddamned person made any effort to say that that person was out of line. Not a single person saw a problem with that response. I’d say it was just that one person in the wrong, but I’ve seen equally harsh and aggressive responses by other people out there, too. This isn’t a situation of one person being an asshole (if it was I might’ve just called them out, specifically), they just happened to be the one to tip me over the edge
That’s what’s pissing me off about this situation. If someone is legitimately so scared to post something completely harmless that goes against the popular interpretation, then there is a problem. There is a problem, that shouldn’t be ignored just because you might disagree with that anon’s opinion. People don’t get that scared for no reason. It’s awful and immature to ignore the problem. To pretend it doesn’t exist, or to support the response they got and double down just to make yourself look right
People are really getting this awful over a side character in a mobile game. Just back up and really look at that. A side character. In a mobile game.
Some people need to grow up, and it sure ain’t that anon. And I hope that if that anon ever sees this, they know that they’ve got my support and I’m so sorry that some people think asserting that their headcanon is canon is more important than an actual, living person
As for the “it’s canon do we really have to spell it out for you?” argument, uhhh
YEAH. Not them, specifically, but the source material does. Otherwise it’s not CANON. Canon is reserved for things irrefutably stated in the text not “all possible (or your favorite) ways you could interpret lines in the text.” When it’s widely accepted, that’s fanon. Canon: Charlie states that he doesn’t have time for dating because he’s busy studying dragons. Fanon: Charlie is ace/aro. We also need to destroy this false equivalency that dating and romantic attraction are the same thing. It doesn’t help anybody on either side
And no joke, I read a novel one time and the main character was so obviously ace to me. The whole thing was written from his point of view, and he was always questioning why people found romance to be so important. He wasn’t into any of the girls that flirted with him, he kissed his male best friend and said he didn’t feel any sparks, he avoided romance of all kinds even while questioning his sexuality. Well, come the end of the book, he realizes that he was gay and in denial and VERY in love with his best friend. It was adorable when they got together
But at the same time, there was way more evidence to suggest that that character was ace than there is for Charlie, and yet canonically he was gay despite that. Sexuality is something very complex and personal and the discovery of it no less so, so yes, absolutely, I think it needs to be stated in some way to be canon. Things can’t just be implied to be considered canon. Your assumptions may very easily be wrong, or not what the author intended. And even things that the author intended can be considered non-canon. Death of the Author is a real thing, after all. If it’s not stated in the text, it’s not canonical
If Charlie had said “I’m not interested in romance and don’t know if I ever will be” or something similar, then yes I’d say they had a basis for their argument. But that’s not what he said. Charlie says
basically what I would have if someone had flirted with me in high school. My suspicion is that something in JC’s contract meant that they weren’t allowed to make Bill, Tonks, or Charlie romance options, so they just reworded JK’s old interview when writing his dialogue to be more relevant to the quest material
And people using that interview as “proof” is especially funny to me since she only said that after denying the possibility that he could be gay because Dumbledore already was. You’re all really expecting this woman whose reaction to being asked if a character being homosexual was a possible interpretation was “Uh, no, we already have one of those,” to go around and confirm him to belong to an even less represented group? And do it tastefully? And then have half of these people who take that as canon also state that they don’t generally consider things that JK reveals outside of the source to matter?
Christ, people, learn the difference between canon, fanon, and Word of God. And then stop ignoring or harassing people for rightly calling out that you’re misusing the terms

What do you think of the whole Dylan Roof being sentenced to death situation and Incblackbird getting hate for being against it?
haha I got two questions in one ;)
okay so premise: I have zero sympathy for the guy. I have in general zero sympathy for mass murderers even more so if they’re beyond rehabilitation (not that mass murderers are in general, so). as far as I’m concerned they should put him in jail, throw away the key and let him enjoy a very long life behind bars since the idiot is younger than I am and he definitely would have a long life expectance - too bad.
that said: I am also in any way, shape or form against death penalty. I don’t think it’s anything that should go on in a civil country, I entirely disagree on its value as *anything* since risking it doesn’t prevent anyone from committing crimes and I think that the chance someone innocent might die for it isn’t worth the chance of killing actual culprits. also I think the old testament is old fucking news, enlightenment has been a thing for ages and killing someone in retribution for whatever it is they did just feeds into a mindset that has to die. we can’t think that if someone kills someone then you kill them in return and you evened the slate - like it’s the same concept as ‘you stole some bread so I cut your hand’. like. it’s the 21st century. death penalty is sickening and unacceptable under any fucking pov and before someone asks me no, if someone I loved was murdered I would not want the murdered killed, I’d want them punished properly. as in: life sentences are a thing. (and before you tell me that it costs to keep someone in prison for all their life, don’t worry it also costs to kill them. I remember some newspaper article a while ago saying that in california they were considering doing away with the death penalty because it cost too much rather than for ethical reasons. haha.)
so: the dude should have been thrown in jail for life as far as I’m concerned but not put to death and not because he doesn’t **deserve** it but because killing people out of retribution doesn’t make you any better than them, because it’s just flat-out morally wrong and there’s a hell of a lot of different ways you can go about punishing someone. never mind that the US system works so well that
okay, story: once I signed an amnesty petition for a guy who spent twenty years in trials for a death sentence when evidence against him was either inconclusive or tampered with and they basically asked for signatures to send the state governor to give him a last appeal. the state governor also did not sign it and the guy died. since then I get links to similar petitions in my inbox and like every month or so I get something of the kind and it’s 90% black people convicted during the eighties in either questionable circumstances or without 100% foulproof evidence who get killed anyway. even if it’s not even sure they did it. like I’d be against it even if I was guaranteed that no innocents get axed but innocents have been axed in that way since ages (SACCO AND VANZETTI *COUGH*) and given that then there’s ppl like that former texas governor asshole who actually build their campaign on how many people were put to death under their administration and therefore don’t lift fingers to save the ones who might actually be innocent excuse me but lol I’m not ever agreeing with anything that comes out of it. and before anyone tells me that I’m empathizing with him rather than the families’ victims: no. I don’t give two fucks about this guy and I don’t think he deserves to walk out free or to not be punished, but you don’t kill people legally period. to me it’s just abhorrent as a general concept.
also: people on the tag going like OMG I’M SO HAPPY THAT HIS BRAIN IS GONNA FIZZLE are fucking sociopaths. like excuse me but if the concept of seeing someone die on an electric chair makes you burst in joy and cheer, I don’t wanna be near you ever. like it’s some of the most disgusting shit you could come up with - like idek if these people know what actually it implies that one person’s brain *fizzles* (I’ve seen enough movies/documentaries to have an idea) but it’s nothing exciting. and there’s nothing to be happy about because anyone who gets killed like that is a failure of a) the society that produced them/their family/their background if they’re guilty and b) a complete travesty if they’re not. like the bare idea that you’d rejoice at the prospect of seeing someone die in that way (at least if they shoot at you it’s over in a moment) is just
completely abhorrent to me? (also I personally have Issues TM with executions, like I can’t watch executions in general without feeling sick or crying my eyes out even if I don’t give a damn about who’s getting executed or whether they did anything wrong to end up there or not, so. again: it’s not even empathy. once I watched a movie where a fairly disgusting person who kidnapped/abused children was condemned to death and I hated the guy’s guts and I still cried when he got hanged because I can’t fucking literally watch people die slowly/executed. so.) wow idk my first thought would be ‘how do we avoid anything like that happening againïżœïżœ, not ‘HAHAHAHA THEY’RE GETTING THEIR DUE I HOPE THEY SUFFER’. like. wow. outstanding human being there. stay away from me thanks.
re incblackbird getting hate: I’m entirely not surprised that on a supposedly **progressive positions** website like tumblr aspires to be people are actually in favor of the death penalty even if like any left wing party deserving of that name is technically against it but like if people don’t get that not wanting death penalty in general doesn’t automatically mean approving of someone’s crimes then idek what to say but jfc people need to go to the nearest amnesty international building and do some volunteer work or something and stop being fucking sociopaths because seriously one thing is not being sad that the guy’s gonna die which I can more or less understand in theory but actually rejoicing in the fact doesn’t make you really much of a better human being than someone who, uh, most probably rejoiced in actually killing people. /two cents
