[trying not to be weird about youtubers] remember when i said this a few weeks or so back

and someone responded to my post like updating me on slimecicles whereabouts. and this is not a diss towards them because i love when people talk to me always. but i also want to prove my point because i love to prove my point

a jrwi patreon update came out today (!!!!!!!!!!) about the riptide hiatus (which im sure all the jrwi fans on tumblr are seething about) (<== saw a post that was salty about the riptide hiatus) (<== <== again no offense to them theyre so warranted for that but still). and they talked about charlie like a LOT? i dont like calling him charlie that feels too personal. they talked about slimecicle like A LOT?

(shivering) it feels weird. maybe im just hypersensitive to this sort of thing. it sounds like hes a dog.

BUT TO MY POINT: WHAT THE HELL HAS HE BEEN DOING???????????? i follow him on instagram and in the last few months hes gone to TWO concerts and visited tednivison and jschlatt and gone to a con where he participated in a panel (about mining). hes making music and painting miniatures. WHAT IS HE DOING? ITS FINISHING NEXT MONTH? SHOULD I BE SCARED? WHO ARE YOU SLIMECICLE?

The QSMP is looking for smaller English-speaking streamers, so I figured I'd take the time to introduce qsmpblr to none other than Eric "Condi" Condifiction!!

Condi is an English-speaking Canadian who's a part of Just Roll With It (JRWI), the absurdly powerful dnd podcast he runs with his friends Bizly, Grizzly, and Slimecicle!! He plays several characters across their multiple campaigns, along with DM'ing his own campaign of Apotheosis. He plays/played Jay Ferin for Riptide, Rolan Deep for Blood in the Bayou, Sylnan Vengolor for Fated, Flynn Gustwind for Convergence, and Vyncent Sol for Prime Defenders. (plus something im probably forgetting whoops anyway)

He is insanely talented at rp and improv, with some of the more infamous and my favorite examples being episodes 53, 100, and 101 in JRWI: Riptide. The way he plays Jay Ferin is emotionally devastating and incredible, and she's genuinely brought me to tears multiple times. Though he plays his absolute heart out with every character he makes, she's just a neat example of his range and talent. Looking at the differences between Jay, the Navy's daughter, and someone like Rolan Deep, a lawyer returning to his hometown of Galloway to experience The Horrors™ is just wild man. Not to even mention everything he does with Vyncent and his multiple different characters inside him; along with everything he made for his own campaign of Apotheosis.

Something something charlie slimecicle calls him "God Gamer Condifiction." He's really good at video games dude I have no way to talk about this he just is its really scary honestly. On one of his more recent streams he went live playing Only Up! and he beat it in one go without any major setbacks, fast enough to refund the game and get all the money he spent on it back. Just for context.

He also has a background in minecraft roleplay specifically!! He was part of the SCU (Slimecicle Cinematic Universe) where he roleplayed several different characters. God!Condi and 100Days!Condi being the more defined ones. Everything he did in the SCU was nearly pure unscripted improv and incredibly impressive, and I highly recommend you go through and watch it!! (I go into detail on how to get into it on this post)

He doesn't just have background in the roleplay aspects of minecraft though, he was also briefly on SMPEarth and is skilled at regular minecraft too. He mainly strives at the roleplay aspects, but again the whole God Gamer Condifiction thing so ^_^

Overall I just really need my dnd guy to be in my favorite minecraft server so he can make so many SCU references with Charlie Slimecicle, then emotionally devastate us through the roleplay aspect. I really hope he manages to get in so everyone gets a taste of his amazing roleplay and gaming (i guess thats how im phrasing it) abilities :DD

HI. jrwi is a rly fun ttrpg podcast and i've only listened to 2 of the campaigns so far but they're SO GOOD. the patreon is the main place to watch/listen to the episodes but people have put together youtube playlists of the video versions :3 i'll give u a couple of them here if u want :3

prime defenders- FAVOURITE ONE RN BECAUSE I JUST FINISHED IT. it's about teenage superheroes!!! starts out as kind of a sitcom-esque series where the stakes are very low. but then the stakes get high. and things get dire. and just. soooo many things happen. like it goes from zero to one hundred REAL DAMN FAST. and then it somehow goes past a hundred in season two. every character is so fucking good and i love them all and i think u should watch it, it's got 64 episodes total and there are a couple of oneshots in that playlist too if you want to listen to them!!! bizly dms this one and he's sooo fucking good at doing voices and stuff i love every single npc <3 HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING THIS ONE TBH. ITS SO FUCKING GOOD.

the suckening- VAMPIRES IN LOS ANGELES BABEY!!!!! this one is the first one i listened to and it's what convinced me to get the patreon so i could listen to the rest. this is a google drive of audio recordings from the final seven episodes (the first five are available for free on their youtube and spotify) but i can def put together a playlist of the youtube versions and send it to you!! this is just what i had on hand. anyway it's so fucking good. literally parts of this had me crying laughing. it's a comedy horror and it's SO GOOD. charlie slimecicle dms this one!! it's got 12 episodes total right now and theres going to be a season 2 :3

apotheosis- this one's a youtube playlist!! dmed by condifiction!!! i don't know much about the plot of this one personally but i think it's about a team of three people, one of whom is trying to kill, god, another of whom is trying to become god, and another guy who i think is just. there to be a fucking nerd. i know barely anything about apotheosis but i DO KNOW that two characters canonically have gay sex. i have watched the gay sex scene.

there's also riptide which is their publicly available campaign thats fully up on their youtube and spotify!!! it's dmed by grizzly and it's about pirates. i have not watched it myself yet because it is like. over a hundred episodes at the moment??? it is a large undertaking but i will brave it eventually. i have heard from very reliable sources such as my mutual mac that it is very good. i personally rly think u should watch prime defenders :3 it's very good :3 it will not grab ur heart and rip it into two pieces :3 trust me

Hey! I want to start jrwi, but idk where to begin. Any advice?

:D !!! oh the IMMENSE joy i felt receiving this ask !! i am about to ramble a little a lot - if anything does not make sense then feel free to ask more questions :))

the main campaign of just roll with it is riptide, a pirate campaign dmed by grizzly set in the world of mana, where the planet is nearly all water save for some scattered islands. the characters are gillion tidestrider, a triton paladin/sorcerer played by charlie slimecicle, chip, a human rogue played by bizly and jay ferin, a human ranger played by condifiction. there's a playlist with all the episodes on so it's pretty simple :)

i have found that my irl friends who have never watched dnd podcasts before have struggled to get past the first arc, around the ep11-14 mark, but i see from a peek at your bio that you're a critical role fan so you'll probably have no issue :) the earlier episodes are slower to start but they're still great! the quality does improve a lot as time goes, naturally.

there's also two prequel episodes for riptide which you don't need to watch, but they're worth noting if you want to go back to them after you catch up like i did, or you could watch them before if you want a bit of extra lore context.

that's probably all the information you need to get started, but i am going to give you some more information about the patreon campaigns as well - you don't have to pay attention to all this if you want to just keep it simple! i just feel like giving a full beginner's guide for no reason lmao

for all three of the campaigns i'm about to talk about, it is $5 a month - obviously not asking you to just jump right in and give them money but i do very highly recommend it if you find you enjoy this podcast!! it's a fairly low cost for a lot of great quality content.

prime defenders is the main patreon campaign, and it's a mutants and masterminds superhero campaign dmed by bizly. the characters are teenaged boys with superpowers, enlisted to help defend the world of prime. charlie plays william wisp, who has ghost powers, grizzly plays dakota cole, who has super strength and does martial arts, and condi plays vyncent sol, who's from another world and has people living inside his brain? i don't really know how to explain that one uhhh the first five episodes are available for free - won't link each because it'll clog up the post but here's the first one. decent place to start if you're considering getting the patreon, although similarly to riptide the beginning episodes are a little slower as they start around the same time.

this one i'd personally recommend watching after you finish the other campaigns, simply because it's the longest of the patreon campaigns, but it is very great! <33 it also has two prequel episodes which are for free - similarly not required watching but good fun nonetheless!

apotheosis is a fifteen episode-long mini-campaign where the players go around and kill all the gods, dmed by condi. peter sqloint is a human possessed by an archangel played by charlie, rumi is a changeling bard/warlock who is chasing visions played by grizzly and thanatos is a very intense and murderous war forged played by bizly. first episode is available for free, and it is essentially the compiled session zeroes of their individual characters.

this campaign is, in my personal opinion, the best place to start for patreon because of the shorter length and how easy and quick it is to get into. if this was not a patreon campaign i would recommend this as the best place to start jrwi, honestly, because the shorter length means everything's more packed in and faster-paced and it helps you get into the swing of things and get the satisfaction of watching through all of it, while also showcasing the potential of the episodes to come later in the longer campaigns.

blood in the bayou is a four episode-long call of cthulhu campaign set in galloway, louisiana in the 1980s, dmed by charlie, where three old friends reunite and discover their hometown's local horrors. kian stone, a big city rockstar, is played grizzly, timothy rand, a stoner still living with his parents, is played by bizly, and rolan deep, a lawyer, is played by condi. it is audio-only and has higher quality sound design and an original soundtrack. pretty different for the other campaigns but so well-made. good place to start with patreon as well! the first episode is available for free too <3

and that's all for the recent stuff! there were a couple other campaigns from years back that never got finished and never will get finished and some scattered oneshots but i hope that was all helpful in some way!! i hope you have a great time watching jrwi and that you'll fall in love with this podcast like i and many other people have! <33 really happy to see you interested - lot of love has been put into this show and each of the campaigns really are so good :) again, if you have any more questions then go ahead and ask!! i'm always happy to help :D

long answer ramble cuz i can’t fucking help myself so! there’s this guy called slimecicle, i’ve been watching him since. 2021? maybe earlier?? and he’s on that podcast and he plays gillion! riptide is the free campaign they have up on youtube but there’s a few others they’ve done on their patreon.

the ongoing one is called the suckening (yeah i’m not joking it’s genuinely called that) it’s vampire themed and it’s not dnd but i don’t remember exactly what the system they’re playing is actually called,,

they have a couple shorter finished campaigns, one is called apotheosis and it’s about slaying gods!! it’s very very cool im def due for a rewatch. there’s also blood in the bayou which is played w the system call of cthulhu, it’s a horror campaign and i also love it very much

hey the little.. podcast (?) people on my dash look very interesting. so- how would one go about getting into jrwi?

JRWI (aka Just Roll With It) is an absurdly powerful dnd podcast featuring Charlie Slimecicle, Bizly, Grizzly, and Condifiction. It is also unfortunately my latest source of brainrot

(cut because I talk too much /lh)

JRWI on YouTube, along with many podcast apps/websites (I don’t know the specifics because I only use Apple Music lol)

If you have any specific TWs sometimes in the YouTube comments there’ll be a list of the TWs along with time stamps, plus you get the bonus of seeing the visual bits and sometimes art, especially in the thumbnails!

Since it is a dnd podcast, most episodes are somewhere between 1-2 hours, and as of now we’re over 90 episodes into the campaign, so chances are you’ll need to spend a lot of time catching up. As of right now they update every other week, with episodes filmed live on twitch every Wednesday and officially posted the following Friday, though later on they may move it to every week. If you want to interact with the community, be very cautious (because, well, spoilers), however I accidentally spoiled myself of a pretty major moment and I was still able to enjoy it, so you do you. Feel free to message and/or send in asks if you want to chat about it with me while watching :)

There are multiple campaigns, however only one is completely free: JRWI/Just Roll With It: Riptide, which is the one you’ve probably seen me reblog. It’s pirate-themed! There’s also JRWI: Prime Defenders (more modern/superhero-themed) and two finished campaigns, JRWI: Apotheosis (God-themed, I guess? Hard to put into words) and JRWI: Blood in the Bayou (aka BITB, which is a mini horror Call of Cthulhu campaign based in the 1970s or somewhere along that time), however all those besides Riptide are only fully accessible on the JRWI Patreon (besides the first few episodes, which are also uploaded for free)

If you don’t know anything about Dungeons and Dragons you can still definitely enjoy the podcast! The stories and characters are always very thought out and more often than not very heart-wrenching, equal parts angst and crack if you will

(though I will mention, it is run by four white Americans so sometimes the jokes are a bit yikes. nothing too bad, and nothing that seems actually ill-intentioned, but still sometimes yikes. from what I’ve heard from poc who are also fans of the show, it’s fine to continue watching as long as you’re aware of why it’s not okay, which is pretty much a good rule of thumb for most media, especially social media, in general. Just wanted you to know before you start watching)

There isn’t really that many ways to actually ‘start’ jrwi- you just pick the first episode and continue along the series! It’s up to you whether you want to start interacting with jrwi blogs and tags from the start, or wait until you’re all caught up like I did, or just share your thoughts with me if you want! You just have to take it head-on, yknow?

FRINGE. It’s a show! An actual show! Came out 2008 has autistic characters different universes and it’s about an fbi division that specializes in weird shit (like time travel and invisibility and weird deaths) and figures them out scientifically. The main character is Olivia Dunham and I love her and she’s awesome and YOU NEED TO WATCH IT ITS AWESOME BRO

to me, edyn will not be a villian. she’s just so fucking angry. if she kills the elders, takes down the entire damn capital, she wouldn’t be a villian. because can you imagine? can you imagine watching this absolutely amazing kid, your little brother, be torn apart and destroyed for something he never asked for? can you imagine watching him come home more and more lifeless the few times you’re allowed to see him, because your parents gave him up to your people’s government to train for some prophecy that just leaves him a shell of himself? can you imagine hearing one day that that kid is never coming home again and having no idea if he’s even alive? and imagine seeing him months later with a wobbly smile on his face and realizing he could’ve been happy the whole time if the undersea had just left him the fuck alone in the first place? because i get it. edyn won’t be a villian to me when she tears those people down. she’s an older sister with righteous rage making them pay for hurting her little brother.
