edward creel, shadows, and siblings
been watching some scenes with the idea of edward in mind and tied together some interesting things
if you don’t know who that is look at these posts for explanation
after looking at scenes and things it seems like henry and one are the same person and edward and vecna are the same so just keep that in mind.
when el asks henry (who i believe is actually edward here) where one is he says this. rewatching this part after the reveal you’re supposed to believe he’s referencing himself but now that we know edward exists, i think he’s referring to henry. i think edward here in 1979 has crossed into our/henry’s timeline. so henry is probably still alive, just hiding in the darkness like brenner says
and if that’s true it makes sense as to why will says one is “hurt, he’s hurting.” because edward/vecna was just killed. henry is connected to edward so it probably felt like he lost a part of himself, his shadow. and you can’t function without a shadow.
brenner is also worried el could “become lost in the darkness” like henry if they push her to remember memories too quickly. and it’s interesting will is literally light and henry is in the dark, almost like he’ll be able to find him in s5.
the stage play is called the first shadow and they include in the synopsis “the shadows of the past have a very long reach” which is very interesting considering will said this about the shadow monster.
speaking of shadows, my mom made me aware of the saying “here comes your shadow” her and her friends said all the time as kids, in reference to someone entering a room and their sibling following behind them like a shadow.
makes me think of how the lost sister episode was originally “supposed” to be called the lost brother which makes no sense because why would they have chosen el to have a brother before making it a sister while writing for s2? i’m assuming they had the cast figured out for s2 when they posted the titles including the girl who played kali. they probably did that purely as a tiny piece of lore.
and this song plays in the episode originally titled “the birthday”
(which btw is impossible to find lyrics for online so they chose this song very very specifically if it’s not that popular)
and in the talisman people they have “twinners” which are themselves from a parallel dimension.
so i’m thinking that the st writers are probably following this same logic my calling someone’s paralled ver. their sibling/brother etc.

So something terrible happens which makes future Crowley go back to try to fix it and there's just 2 Crowleys running around in the present? Oh, and thanks for explaining!
Regarding not taking yourself seriously: I may not be entirely convinced by this particular theory - or any, yet - but I don't think time travel is completely out there or impossible either. Considering the way Adam resets things after the failed Apocalypse, the timeline clearly can be messed with, as can time itself, as Crowley repeatedly demonstrates. I saw the post you reblogged about the rugs and we are rapidly moving out of the territory of plausible deniability regarding the sheer number of bizarre continuity errors. Any one or two of them on their own, yes, but collectively?
If you do go looking back through the minisodes, Crowley's hair seems to go shorter-longer-shorter in Job and his sideburns look like they get quite a bit shorter in the crypt in the Resurrectionists. I didn't see anything in the Nazis minisode, but that doesn't meant nothing's there.
further ask:
hi anon!!!✨ first of all, im so sorry for not getting round to your asks until now!!!
re: first ask - mhm that's the half-baked idea, anyhow!!! and tbh 💀 im not completely convinced either but i like to entertain the possibility just out of Fun, so here we are!!!✨ oh god The Rugs - so the red one, that appears during the ball? okay sure i can accept that it is part of the Austen Aesthetic, and once the magic lifts it shifts back to the normal s2.
as for the s1 one... im torn. because i saw the amazing post where they hand-painted the mf sink tiles bc they would be in the background of a couple of shots, and wanted to at least be as close to the s1 ones as possible (GO crew honestly do the Mostest). and yeah okay, re: the difference between the s1 and s2 rugs, maybe it's that they thought 'well it's going to be on the floor most of the time and therefore out of shot' but. there are two shots that literally focus on it. as the focal point. so to my mind, they either literally couldn't find a like for like replacement (completely valid), or something Fishy is going on.
ive seen a couple of people remark on the flashbacks potentially being skewed because they're from aziraphale's perspective, but ive genuinely had the half-baked idea that the whole season is. there's so many in-story indicators, to my mind - biased red/yellow colour grading, the cartoony loch ness animation in ep3, and tbh the whole ball thing - and i do wonder if this whole rug sitch (as well as other Unexplained Things) might be chalked up to this very thing; that we are seeing s2 for the mostly part literally through aziraphale's eyes, and that what we see is a little... altered. magicked. as i said, half-baked idea, but there we are.
i did end up going through ACtO, and it's currently sat in my drafts at the moment because... well, idk what to make of it. the scenes where - by my estimation - he has the longer, more defined-curl wig, is every shot in job's house (three scenes, iirc), and so it might actually, if you consider that these scenes were likely filmed in alternative days to the other ACtO scene, a plain continuity/wig-availability issue. plus, when looking at the dialogue, all the scenes in some way link together (so i don't, essentially, think it can feasibly be the same time-travel theory). the only thing, i guess, that still remains valid is that we are seeing a recount of the events of ACtO as per aziraphale's retelling... but even then, there are plenty of scenes where they are very heavy in the crowley perspective (ie it doesn't feel like aziraphale is fudging anything), so this doesn't 100% feel like a true explanation either imo.
i do still need to look at the resurrectionists minisode though, so may well be able to parse some crackpot musing once ive done that!!!✨

i haven’t really... written much on my canon divergence for months now & i feel if any times good, now would probably be one of the best times to do so.
a lot of my canon divergence comes from backstory: one day ( hopefully sooner than later ) hori’s gonna.... dump the truth that dabi is a todoroki / who touya is & what happened to him, along with the backstory & why things are so different for every character. im expecting this canon to be completely different to the one ive written before, but as it stands, i have a few key points my portrayal really runs through.
( this may be different or similar to my original draft ?? but this one is more ambiguous to what happens with dabi, because im worried people will feel trapped when plotting / doing whatever with me - i have different versions with different portrayals, after all. )
out of all his siblings, natsuo was closest to touya. due to endeavours refusal to let shouto interact with any of them, & fuyumi’s worrying / future it probably meant they didn’t have as much time together / natsuo viewed her as more of a mother than a friend. touya did play the fatherly role to natsuo for a lot of his younger years, but he was always someone who was there to have fun with, someone who could spend more & more time with him without having to tend to siblings wounds or any other
natsuo was 9 when rei was hospitalised, which makes shouto 5, fuyumi 12 & touya 12+ ( unless ur in for the touya & natsu twin theory ;) ) out of all the todoroki kids, natsuo was the last to know why due to both his young age & most likely fuyumis request for touya not to share, he actually finds out the first time he sees shouto after the incident, along with the new kettle that fuyumi had hastily brought so ‘ shouto could feel better in the kitchen ‘ & touyas increase of anger directed to their father; he puts the pieces together & asks about it at dinner. much to fuyumis dismay.
( in regards to my previous post - nvm i cant find it. i’m still 100% in support of my previous mindse. touya & natsuo still most likely made promises to one another to save the family: natsuo & touya’s closeness forms directly off of saving this family together, but ofc this doesn’t work, not one bit. )
small note: natsuo & touya were the closest on these ideas, to the point where touya would tell natsuo that he wanted to leave / his plans to do so.. because fuyumi would worry & tell someone, while they never really got to speak to shouto. touya went to natsuo for a lot & natsuo did the same in return - or at least, how i view it.
ORIGINALLY, my old post talks about touya leaving at an earlier day, but thinking about it has prompted me to rethink this, for now i presume he left when natsuo was around 12 - 13, making touya most likely 15+, but there’s one thing that’s ultimately never changed, natsuo is there in touyas final moments in the endeavour residence, & here’s 3 of the theories i hold / would plot out,,,,,,,
1. AN ARGUMENT WITH ENDEAVOUR: this is a popular view, touya’s final moments were spent in the company with his father where things get too much & the both of them sharing irreversible words. these lead to touya leaving the house / causing so much harm onto himself. however, in some funny parallel to where todoroki tells izuku everything & bakugo overhears, it’s natsuo whos hiding behind that wall, who hears everything - when he shouts what happened to big bro touya is when he finally admits to endeavour that he was there & he knew what he said.
2. TOUYA JUST LEAVES: not a very exciting idea but was well & truly the original plot i went through. one night touya decides that he’s tired of being here, that he can’t cope with living here anymore, & well pretty much walks out in the middle of the night - however, he’s apprehended by a younger natsuo just infront of the front door ( whos only out to get a drink of water but can honestly realise what he’s doing ) but no matter what natsuo says, touyas done. & he walks out instructing natsuo to do what he couldn’t do, even though natsuos final beg is to take him with him.
3. FROSTBITE: this ones... probably the most scarring idea but, oddly works with canon & is my most recent view. in some attempt to not look like his father, it’s natsuo who touya asks to bring his scars forward with his both unpredictable & never practised quirk. natsuo, as young & impressionable as he is towards his big brother, agrees - however, things go terribly deeper & wrong ( in natsuos eyes ) when it happens, & his immediate reaction after having this happen is to run to fuyumi, but by the time they come back touya is... gone. ( this one means instead of hypothesising on fuyumis part, she does know who dabi is - but she keeps it a secret in order to keep natsuo safe. )
ultimately, i cover the rest in my other post that i would link if i could remember, but ... after this, natsuo realises there’s no other way to really get back at endeavour without exposing him, for everything - so a lot of natsuos life is based around exposing him: college course in media, carrying out extra work into law & looking into things by himself ( he needs the respect of the public before he can go out classing accusations that have more than likely been covered up with large bribes & so on ), in fact - natsuos only shown up for things related to his father when he knows he can get something out of it to work against him. if endeavour were to die / be exposed... there would be a lot of blanks into natsuos life & so on... thats just how things are.
natsuo is 17 when he starts looking for touya again, 18 when him & a friend work out he’s dabi - in the canon timeline, natsuo most likely found dabi after the afo vs ofa fight - he’s been seeing him for about 2 -3 months at most - but dabis still the brother he wants to take down his father with, & that’s why he’s so hopeful about the whole thing.
#long post /#like its..... a read i try to cover a lot in this post so people know where i base x n y from#FFYUUGFDFUY#someone: u forgot his rel --#me: listen thats canon goodbye#YFGFYGGUYFGUYFD#none of this probs makes sense but better now then never >:)#no proof read we die like men
