Have you listened to Ariana’s new album and Hozier’s new EP? I loved ‘We can’t be friends’, ‘don’t wanna break up again’, ‘boy is mine’, and ‘I wish I hated you’ from Ari’s album specifically, although every song in that album was so good. ‘Too Sweet’ and ‘Fare Well’ were my favorite from Hozier’s album, the guitar in both is just so good.

My recommendation for this time (if you haven’t heard it already) is Luna Day’s ‘Obsessed’ and ‘Say it Back’. Unrequited love songs will always have a special place in my heart.

BABY FOR YOU I WOULD FALL FROM GRACE (reputation listen)

i’m cracking UP at “...ready for it?” being the first track because ... ok, just imagine you hadn’t heard any of the singles and you were just like, “oh, new taylor album,” and you popped it in and it’s like BRRRRRRRM BRRBRGRGR BRRRRMR

this song has grown on me, but the only part i really unabashedly like is the chorus.

“end game” has a much more ... organic-feeling BRRRM factor. the biiiiig reputation refrain is pretty cool. this is the most of-the-moment pop song. it’s not super swift-y, but it’s nice and should have been a single. it’s a jam. i know what they all say / but i don’t wanna play (and this is a tom song!!! fight me)

“i did something bad” !!!!!!! for every lie i tell them, they tell me three. this one is the inverse of “... ready for it?” for me, love the verses, not a huge fan of the production in the chorus. too much wub wub. but as a whole, the song kinda works with those loud, frenetic BURSTS. it has a groove.

“don’t blame me” is the hozier/banks-influenced anthem of my DREAMS!!!!!! fave. baby, for you, i would fall from grace. it’s SO GOOD

“delicate” is really sweet. i like we can’t make any promises but you can make me a drink. there’s a nice vulnerability to this one. 

LWYMMD is still fire. I DON’T TRUST NOBODY AND NOBODY TRUSTS ME

“So It Goes...” getting a little tired of the BRRRRM at this point. i like the all eyes on us refrain, but this one’s a little boring to me. it’s not bad tho. 

“gorgeous” still annoys me so muuuuuuch, i honestly think it’s 30% making fun of people’s accents is never cool, 20% don’t like the chorus, and all the rest is WHO IS IT ABOUT, it makes me mad that i don’t know... :{ the idea of the song is better than the song itself, i think. it’s still gonna get in my head bad tho.

“getaway car” i love because of how it buiiiiiiiilds the whooooooooole time, it really gives you the feeling that is HIDDLESWIIIIIIIIIIIIFT, you never want it to end but you can’t believe how fast it’s going. SHOTgun SHOT in the DARK. jyyyyyetset bonnie & clyyyyyde. D: i can’t believe you did him like this, taylor. you let him get hung out to dry by that gq interviewer!!!!!!

“king of my heart” enufffffff with the BRRRRRRRRRRM D:

“dancing with our hands tied” i’m getting a headache

i’d probably like “dress” better if it weren’t so high in the middle. feels like it needs ... something.

“this is why we can’t have nice things,” aside from being the best song title ever, is a GROOVE (champagne seaaaaaa) (feeling so GATSBYYYYY) it’s playfully hard, which i think is probably the ideal for taylor, and fits better than some of the other songs -- i would like to see an album that was more in this vein. her HA HA HA HA!!!!!! omg i’m living.

“call it what you want” is nice, though at this point in the album, “baby” has been said a little too much, and i don’t know what “fit like a daydream” means. and “TRUST HIM LIKE A BROthER” is ... unfortunate. X)

“new year’s day” sounds like a bb regina spektor song, which i love. i actually!!!! think the live versions sound better than the album! again, this is clawing back to more traditional taylor, and i’d have liked to hear more songs like this in the album, but it’s a lovely end note. FULL CIRCLE.
