My sister continues to be extremely funny without meaning to. It’s been hours and I’m still laughing over the “he’s bigger than the abyss”. The lack of punctuation somehow makes it better.
#morrigan.text#morrigan plays#p:WotR#pwotr#pathfinder wrath of the righteous#I feel like meatloaf needs a tag at this point.#his AC is 38 now btw. and his strength score is 30 which is higher than anyone else’s stats.#he doesn’t even have one of those +2/4/6 belts on.#if he did he would be unstoppable.#I love meatloaf.

Hi!! I absolutely love your analysis on Veilguard, and I also love Sten, so how do you think he would fit in the game? What would his presence change? Like you said, it could give us a sympathetic point of view on the Qun (and maybe some Taash and Sten interactions?)
HELLO its been a while since you sent this but please know I've been thinking about it near constantly and have finally pulled my thoughts together into something coherent. I have a couple of 'options'; one involves the game basically maintaining the same quality but being a tad better rounded for the qunari, the other is if they actually took Sten and all he represents seriously.
Option one: Faction Leader
Look so here is the thing. There is no reason why the game, as is, could not incorporate a 'Qun' faction. It would actually be really fun; I've wanted to play as a member of the Qun since DA2 and I know so many of us have Qun headcanons for our Adaar or their parents. Unlike the other backgrounds that seem to be more suited to particular races, the Qun is literally a state/religion/philosophy and thus any race could be a member (we know for certain plenty of elves defect to the qun and I'm sure humans and dwarfs do as well). (I do think this faction would need to seriously consider whether or not it allows for a 'mage' class, because it would be a lot of work to explain why a Saraabas is allowed to just be walking about. They could pose it as their mage came into their powers late and when they were found out immediately left with Varric, but thats the only way I could see it not being a potential pressure point)
Sten thus slots into the game here as a faction leader; he is the Arishock. We see a different side to the Qun; those antam who did not leave it behind. We get to hang out with some Ben'Hassrath as well. In my ideally world the other faction leader in this scenrio would be Tallis, who has regained her place within the Qun (but I'm biased because I'm in love with Tallis). But you could also have Gatt because I think he's quite an interesting character, would call Neve out on being Tevinter, wouldn't let you easily look away from slavery AND I feel his bitterness, anger...its so fun, I wish we'd gotten more of him, I want him back.
The thing is....this game wants to treat the qun better, I think. But in doing so they ignore parts of the qun that genuinely were interesting culturally (Saarabas - god that one da2 quest kills me every time) and also...we don't MEET anyone who is really representaitve of the qun. Taash is there, but her questline of 'I can accept non-binary but I draw the line at multicultural' is...questionable to say the least, and from the stats it seems most people push her towards Rivan anyway. Shathann is from the qun and still holds it as important, but she feels more of a plot device to tell Taash's story than anything else. We've got the Qunari on the beach who tells the weather, but again, its not the Qun as a whole.
And to replace the 'evil' Qun we just get the 'evil' Antam. Who are now equipped with growling and turning into horrible beasts so. That's uh. something.
So actually having a qun faction, maybe letting us see Par Vollon, letting us interact with people there who actually live under the qun, letting us see Sten...it would be really interesting. And further, Sten being involved in this game makes perfect sense. Who is the Qunari going to send when it realises that they have a double blight on their hands? Probably the guy who actually fought in the fifth blight and helped finish it. You can also easily retcon any Sten death by saying he somehow got out of the cage and made his way on his own - its not perfect but it'll do considering the same is done with Isabela for DA2.
And Sten links us to DAO. In da2 we had Anders, Lothering, Flemeth, Merrill, Isabella...a lot linked us back to Fereden and DAO. In Dai we had Varric and Cassandra back from DA2 (as well as Hawke) and we had Leliana and Morrigan and potentially Loghain/Alistair back from DAO. Morrigan IS in DATV as a kinda link back to dao but she's not really around in that capacity here. Sten could talk about Ferelden, the blight, all of that stuff.
AND are the qun really just...standing by and letting the antam do whatever? they haven't sent ANYONE after them? Haven't tried to stop them in any way? There's no Antam who didn't defect? I don't know man, I really dislike the way the Antam are portrayed in this game. It really just feels it was done the way it is so the writers could pull a 'well we aren't saying ALL qunari are like this, just these ones'.
So just. Give us a qun faction. Let me play it out. I'm sure they'd handle it about as well as any other faction, but it would at least I think allow them to explore the Qun better than the Lords of Fortune do.
I also think this would mean Taash has a qun presense that isn't demonised and isn't their mother, which would really help them. They could go talk to the shadow dragons AND they could go talk to Sten. Bonus points if Sten assumes their a man to start with because they fight. BONUS BONUS points if we can get more on the qunari and gender.
The Better Option: Butcher, the Dragon King, The Qunari, and The Blight
OKAY SO the Butcher. I want Sten to be the Butchers like, narrative foil.
Because here me out, the Butcher should be SO MUCH MORE INVOLVED IN DATV. Other than Ghilian'han and Isseya (and maaaaybe Illario) he's the interesting villian this game gives us and he's just GONE SO QUICKLY. He's the opposite of the Arishock; he came to this city and instead of dispising it he FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. How fun!
Meanwhile, the Dragon King SUCKS. I wrote a whole post on that which you can find here but basically bleh, he's poorly written and poorly thought out. So lets just get rid of the Dragon King, and have the Butcher be our main Qunari/antam antagonist. Then lets have Sten here as someone who ALSO fell in love with a different place (Ferelden) but went home anyway, who went back to duty, who worries in the privacy of his own mind, about what it would mean if Ferelden fell to the Qun.
But also....as the Butcher is becoming less and less a follower of the Qun while believing hes doing right by the anatam...have sten ACTUALLY follow the Qun. I want to know more about Kosslon the prohet I really thought this game would give us that and it never did. I want to know about the Qun from someone who yeah has been travelling but who never really left it like Bull does.
I think this would also allow the crows to breathe a bit more because we could get some questioning around if the crows really ARE a good option for Treviso. Is the qun? Are both bad? Maybe both are bad? Annnnddddd now I'm thinking about how nicely this could dove-tail into a Zev cameo with Sten bringing him in.
I think Sten would also be really important for the blight as detailed above, but equally...I think having Sten react to the blight being basically the fault of a bunch of powerful mages? Thats an important perspective here! God, DAI goes out of its way to be like 'can mages be trusted' and even makes the alternative future of a pro mage character become anti-mage (leliana from the alternaitve future my beloved). But in DATV there is absolutely NOBODY who says mages are fucking things up - not even Varric who canonically is absolutely sick of mages and templars.
So Sten can do that for us because Qunari don't trust magic. And Sten can also play of Davrin for blight stuff (I think Davrin would have so many questions).
And like most legacy characters, if taken seriously...Sten offers us a chance to get rid of all this sanitisation because Sten is a complex character who has complex opinions on mages, who literally killed a whole family, who loves his homeland and the qun but has a soft spot for ferelden. Sten who will encourage you to get rid of all the mages in the mage tower, and who will see a lot of your do-goodery as a waste of time against the larger goal, but who also likes order and will defer to you as the leader.
Anyway thank you for the ask! Sorry for the long response. I love Sten though and think he should have been here.

So it’s me.
Corn chip paper clip chihuahua anon.
And it turns out there was an elusive third option called multitasking, which I should’ve realized was possible because I am too adhd.
So honestly, first run belongs to Zarola, always, it’s the law™️ (then Seraphina, then Nero, he covered his face in embarrassment and I have to make him do it again)
And honestly everytime she did something, my corn chip activated like a secret government microchip. She deserves to get hand fed but only after mc chomps on her a bit (a reward for dealing with my mc’s absolutely uncultured ass). The orange eye glow of past mc in the memories and the way Zarola very blatantly told Seraphina to back off when she was flirting in combination with a past react where you told us that Zarola has only really had flings is making me froth at the mouth at the possible implications (maybe I need to see if I'm up to date on my vaccinations, hmm…).
As for the our resident tinker bells:
Titania is such a spoiled brat/mean girl that I was honestly cackling, everytime Mab lost her cool (heh) I was cheering her on, I absolutely believe they should put them in a cage match. She gives the vibes of someone who is deeply insecure because she can’t figure out how to learn from failure, instead she’s just kind of haunted by it, which I mean sucks to experience, but couldn’t have happened to a better person, hah! Times where perfectionism and narcissism stall any attempt at character growth. she's over here making deal to avenge her own pride (which she obviously is starting to think may not have been the best idea) while also ignoring the fact that she's also actively sacrificing it to achieve whatever nebulous goal she has.
Oberon honestly aged me. Bruh, over here acting like he’s not legally obligated to grey morals and loop holes, over here sounding like a hall monitor, following the rules. Let Mab fighhhhttttt. Don’t get me wrong, not a bad character, and I actually think this makes him a stronger character, but what a poopy pants. He gives old money, distant dad, the world isn’t what it used to be vibes. Someone fetch this man a real paper newspaper and pretend the internet never came into existence, stat. Or better yet, someone clear his schedule for the day and send him to his rich country club dog park.
Morrigan was… interesting. I say this because who’s to know who this tricker really is. Like, their personality is mostly reactionary, they like to provoke people and it’s clear. I like that certain truths seem to float just under that surface, they seem to have true affection for Mab, rather than a desire to keep the peace, and they don’t so much hide their attempts to ground her so much so that they seem to almost disguise them with a different truth, that they like strong personalities. It makes an interesting contrast to the moment when Oberon basically tells Titania to shut it. If not affection, Morrigan seems to actually have quite a bit of respect for Mab. I kind of ship them tbh, but that might just be because they’ve only really given her true engagement that wasn’t really inflammatory in some way or another. Everyone else kind of seems to just get a running commentary, almost small talk about of ribbing.
Mab honestly probably my favorite of these four. She gives haughty but she does it well, like she earned that. I like this step away from subtle or slippery speech, she doesn’t beat around the bush and as Winter I think it’s well suited. She seems to be someone who will let you know more often than not where you stand with her, and it creates a very delicious contrast with the rest of the court. And her not seeming to ever brush Morrigan’s touch off absolutely fed my delusions (they should smooch, loopy rogue x ice queen is an immaculate pairing for a reason). I also like for all her refined stiffness, she seems to have the most hair trigger temper, which feels like another winter manifestation that is feeding me (it’s also one of the things feeding my Mab x Morri ship. Like she’s wild, and Morrigan has to like that, it’d be impossible. Also they call her Mabby and she doesn’t even blink, doesn’t even seem to get irritated if I’m remembering correctly. Im honestly about to be their wingperson at this rate).
🤣I absolutely love everything about this message! I’m glad you’re enjoying it so much! I hope you enjoy the future characters as well! I will say I don’t remember a corn chip anon you might have to refresh my memory!

Antisocial DAO Part 8 (Broken Circle): Be too socially inept for Alistair to think
I need to get into Kinloch Hold to recruit the magi, but it's been closed off and the only boat there commandeered by templars, Thedas' anti-magic knights. I tell the templar guarding the boat, Caroll, that his superior won't like that he's giving me trouble.
Unfortunately, I Am Socially Inept, so this doesn't work. "He won't know if you never get in, will he? Ooh, I've outsmarted you! If I were more flexible, I'd pat myself on the back." fucker.
This is a piece of dialogue most players won't see, because it is incredibly easy to Persuade Carroll, and if you don't have any Persuasion, it is incredibly easy to Intimidate him, too, and if you don't have either, having any of Morrigan, Leliana, Sten or Shale in the party will eventually get you through anyway. Nonetheless, I try threatening him just to see myself fail the check and...I don't? I succeed?
What?
He caves immediately. I wonder what has caused this anomaly, suspecting that the Arcane Warrior's ability to use magic in place of strength might have bled into Intimidate. If so, that's pretty bad: the central concept of the run, that I can't persuade anybody, doesn't work. I consult the wiki for explanation, and discover something odd.
Apparently, you will always succeed on your second coercion choice, regardless of your stats and regardless of which one you did first: If you Persuade him and fail, you can always Intimidate him and vice versa. I haven't manipulated him, I just wore him down with sheer tenacity until he realized that the elf is gonna stick around, Miasma and all, until he lets her through. Since this requires no social skills - in fact, it is an option you only learn about if you don't have social skills - I am satisfied that I Am Socially Inept, and I continue to the Tower, which is now crawling with demons. I meet Wynne, a kindly old lady, and she joins the party.
I allocate her skills into only the best - the Spirit Healer tree, the Arcane Warrior tree, Haste, and, most importantly, Mana Clash. Mana Clash gets rid of all of a mage's magic, largely neutralizing them. And by "mage," I mean "anything that uses magic instead of stamina." And by "gets rid of," I mean it damages the mage for each point of magic they lost, meaning for a lot of enemies it's an instant kill. And by "a mage" I mean "all magi in a massive AOE."
The only reason magi are scared of templars and not Mana Clash is that templar leave witnesses. The demons are easily routed. There's a lesson in there about community safety, or survivorship bias, but the most important lesson is to always have at least one mage with mana clash in the party. And here, I have two, and it's not even redundant. I wipe out all the demons in one area while Wynne wipes out anything outside of my AOE. I breeze through Kinloch Hold.
And then I get trapped in the Fade.
The Fade is another dimension, one of pure thought. This part of the Fade is a surreal labyrinth full of several sets of magical obstacles. To clear the labyrinth, you need to travel through portals between bizarre, hellish landscapes, looking for different forms that gradually let you explore more.
The Fade departs so much from the overarching plot and gameplay loop that it is far and away the most hated part of Dragon Age: Origins, so much so that there is a mod to skip it entirely without losing the rewards.
I love it.
I always respect special mechanics, and I really admire them if they're done well. I admit the Fade doesn't have as much replay value as some areas, but it's a really well-crafted dungeon with an interesting structure and neat puzzles. The different forms you acquire, besides getting through different obstacles, give you access to a range of excellent statblocks and abilities, meaning that, despite this being a solo mission, you're never softlocked. At worst, you have the mouse, which can sneak past or slip by most of the enemies. There's a lot to play with and plenty of places to do it. As far as the dungeons go in this game, this is one of the coolest.
Eventually, I find Alistair, whose armour has an eerie glow that is only partly from the Fade and mostly from my using the Dye Kit mod to make him glowy like the special little templar boy he is. He thinks he's with his family, so I tell him to think carefully about where he is and how he got here.
Unfortunately, I am too socially inept for Alistair to think, so he retreats into his exceedingly boring fantasy.
I am at a standstill. Am I just going to have to escape the Fade without Alistair's help? That's...not good. The boss is quite difficult even with a full party.
But I have learned my lesson from Carroll - where persuasion won't work, sometimes you can get by through sheer tenacity. I keep bullying Alistair until the demon disguised as his sister, presumably out of sheer pity for my dizzying social ineptitude, just flatly tells me I can't talk him out of this.
Now that the demon has dropped the act for me, I can fight it. I don't have Alistair, but I do have my handy-dandy golem form, so this is a very easy battle. I free my other companions, one by one, and then beat the demonic ruler of this realm.
Oh, that's not the last boss of this quest. That honour goes to this big purple guy.
After this somewhat anticlimactic fight, the templar commander asks what to do about the mages - do the templars have to resort to extreme measures? Many innocents have died, and the tower is still susceptible to demonic corruption. Reluctantly, I decide the tower needs to be under protection - anti-magical protection.
I let them have Wynne. She's been melting demons left and right! (Spoiler alert: There is Another Reason I don't want Wynne in my party)
Did you think I meant the templars? Nah. The templars were ostensibly supposed to keep the tower safe and they did exactly the opposite. This is true in the big picture, where their oppressive regime contributed to mages turning to demonic magic, but also in the more immediate sense that dozens of them got possessed by demons, which is a pretty embarrassing track record for the anti-demonic-possession squad.
This failure is yet another mark against the templars' employer, the Chantry. They've massacred my people, and they nearly massacred these people, many of whom are also elves they've forcibly assimilated. I'm starting to have a real grudge against them.
Fortunately, I rescued the mages' boss, so he can do the talking for me. With his recommendation, the mages are released so they can fight for me.

Cringetober: Day 2
Yes, I skipped day one. I don't have a character with heterochromia, sorry.
I have self inserts! I have many!! They're part of a mental universe in which I hop around between worlds that I love and live in them, and they are where I go mentally to cope with life.
Meet Soup Girl, a Dragon Age self insert (just looks like me, so have a Picrew instead of like... art of me, I guess). They mainly hang around in Origins. They first show up in the world about a year before the events of Origins, and go by LJ most often. They're pretty quickly caught by the Tenplars, spending about a year in the circle in Ferelden, where they had many emotional meltdowns that caused the Templars to heavily consider making them Tranquil. They figured this would happen- they're me, and I'm always scared what will happen when people see me reacting to overstimulation- and so when Jowan needed help, they offered to help him and Amell/Surana. When shit inevitably goes sideways and Jowan runs... well, they follow him, literally, all the way out of the Circle. From there, they decide to go their own way, not wanting to go to Denerim, and after running into Darkspawn many days after, the Wardens- or what's left of them now, save them. There's a lot more, but long story short, they pretend they have no magic and some basic Krav Maga training isn't useful on a battlefield, so they make soup for everyone to make it up to them, while falling for Alistair hard from afar- alone.
Next up, meet my Baldur's Gate 3 character! Nih'ara, though they're also just me. I did some tinkering around in word roots and found that Yornih'ara or Ssrinih'ara would be likely candidates for the name William in Drow Elvish, making Nih'ara the obvious choice for the name Liam.
A Drow Paladin with a very big focus on magic, I'm not sure who my patron would be, but Nih'ara is likely either a patron of Eilistraee, or in my dreams, maybe one of the deities if sorts I actually beleive in- Queen Méabh (Medb) or The Morrigan, though I wouldn't expect patronage from them and that sounds a little terrifying. I chose Drow for a reason, as I heavily connect Drow culture with my own familial raising: heavily matriarchal, often anti-men, my mother had pictures of Lolth on her walls and the rest of the societal pressures for Drow were... well, you'll know too much about me if I explain more, but I connect. Obviously, I left the Underdark, because fuck that. I'm always a runaway, I guess. I'm heavily magic focused as a Paladin, and fight with one hand free and a longsword... aka, I'm probably not an effective Paladin, but I've not got a bad charisma Stat despite my awkwardness. In real life I've been told I can be intimidating for some, but I'm also persuasive at times.
They are from the Underdark, and were simply trying to get a home and live an average life on the surface when abducted by Mind Flayers, and I'm still unraveling the rest right now, as I don't have to spend as much time here mentally anymore.
Honorable mention: me in Detroit Become Human, as an android! This is just straight up old art of mine, and that story changes mentally a lot.

*taking a deep breath* OKAY. So. DAO is not an action RPG. It is a strategy RPG. Your options here are to learn the strategy, or bypass the strategy. I can only offer you the basics of the former, but can offer a bit more about the latter, because I am Bad At This Game (as it's intended to be played, anyway). Firstly- for the Fade specifically if you are still there- use the forms you are given as much as possible. Secondly, for tactical advice- keep on top of levelling up and dishing out good equipment to your party. Check your companion's tactics tab- this tells them exactly what to do in combat, and if it's not there they will not automatically do it. You can tell them to heal at low enough health but be aware that you might find yourself needing to buy health poltices often if you do that- and once you manually add in a tactic they won't update automatically when they level up. Since you're in the Circle, I assume you have met Wynne- she's automatically specced as a healer and that is invaluable, assuming you don't, erm, lose the chance to recruit her. Morrigan can eventually also be specced as a healer despite her having a line about not being a healer early in the game, but Wynne is better for it. I saw in the comments you're a rogue. Rogues have a rough time in any fight they can't stun or distract their way through. Backstabbing, dodging, and using your companions to draw attention is the way to go. (Btw dual-wielding rogues were for a long time the only way I would play! I do love playing a rogue.)
Thirdly- circumventing the strategy. By breaking the game a bit you can make it work how YOU want it to- but this comes at the risk of making it too easy and unfun, which you may have experienced with the very easy mod? Anyway. This mod will let you add points to your stats, skills, talents and specialisations using the in-game console. You can also use the console to add literally any talent to your character by looking them up on the wiki- so if you want warrior talents? You can do that! Want a single talent from a specialisation? You can do that too! I recommend giving your party a few extra points in the important stats- health and mana/stamina for all, and then the stats for their class. This mod shows the console commands as you type them so you're not going blind. This mod adds a storage chest in camp- but more pertinent to your issue, it gives you the ability to level up your gear! If you find a unique bit of equipment you can now keep using it! And lastly, for some very good (but not massively overpowered) gear, this mod adds in Grey Warden arms and armour. If you use the console command to spawn them into your inventory they'll be very low level, so you'll need to either use the mod linked above to upgrade them to your current level or get the higher level equipment from the location from the Warden's Keep DLC (which will be very high level). Also... save before you install this, there shouldn't be any problems mid-game but since it affects Alistair I'm not sure enough to not say anything. I don't know if any of that is helpful to you going forwards but I hope something is!
I'm not sure how active this tag is or if I'm shouting into the void (I'm avoiding all possible spoilers) but I recently installed Dragon Age: Origins and am playing it for the first time. I love it so far, but this combat is REALLY starting to drag on me. The difficultly jumps are just insane; I can hardly even travel without being ambushed and absolutely DESTROYED.
I downloaded a "very easy mode" mod that lets me essentially one-shot enemies to progress, but it's not that fun. Does anyone have tactic advice for DAO? Any way so I can play on Normal?

Mmmm making myself sad about Rodaine in this chili's tonight
I had him switch out of wearing Morrigan's ring (mostly bc I'm bad at video games and I need items that are better stat-wise) and put it in party storage. And I feel like that was a really hard thing for him to do but he also needed to do it so he could focus on what's happening in Awakening without the idea of Morrigan and his kid lingering in the back of his mind. And then he's gonna take it out again before the big battle because he needs to have that connection with her in case he just fuckin dies. That way she'll know and won't have to wonder because he's still hung up on her.
And then of course he doesn't die there so he goes to find her because he's like fuck this actually I want to see the woman I love
Turns out good in the end but just... sad about the ring

Finished Leliana's Song. Was a decent enough little refresher on how the game works, though the sexual assault element to the story was a bit much. Kind of forgot how commited DAO was to being gratuitously dark and edgy. It did do an ok job of building up Leliana. In the past I've generally favored Zevran or however its spelled, but between the little prequel segment and knowing Lily will be important in Inquisition, maybe I'll give her more of a push this time.
Mechanically, LS mostly reminded me about control spells being king, and the mage needing the most direct management regardless of who the "main" character may or may not be.
So onto the main game. Way back in the day, I played though all the origins, but If I'm going to make this a personal canon run, I definitely have to make this character a mage. Mechanically, mages are way more interesting & involved in DAO than warriors are rogues, and they're also more interesting and involved than they will be in any other game in the series. Narratively it dives right into the whole mage/templar conflict, so that's a plus.
Gender's a straight forward choice. I typically opt for female protagonists, but in this game I want to push the Morrigan subplot & love interest, so that means playing a dude.
Which leaves Elf vs. Human. Hrm. Hrrrrmmnmm. Having trouble deciding this. Elves have better stats for mages, slightly, and If I do continue into dragon age 2 I'll be forced to play a human there, so it makes more sense to play an elf here...
But if I'm going to play a wizard, I want to have a big, beautiful wizard beard, and elves don't seem to have facial hair options in this game, so human it is. Now, what's a good wizard name? How about....
Obidiah Shadowstaff?
Wait, no, I don't have enough letters for that.
Just Obidiah, then.
I love him.
He's going to fuck up Ferelden so very badly.

COMPANION STATS — ORIGINS
RECRUITED Encounter after fighting the battle at Redcliffe, when passing near the Brecilian Forest. Fergus is found in the company of two Chasind, who have helped care for him. He will join the Warden as soon as he is invited, though if the Warden is of human noble origin, he will insist on accompanying his sister.
APPROVAL / DISAPPROVAL Fergus’ approval can be gained through actions and conversation that show mercy, particularly toward children, and lost through actions and conversation which value expedience over compassion. He has a strong moral code which guides him, and from which he is not often swayed. He can and does appreciate political savvy and cleverness, though he will almost always value his honor above all else.
CIRCLE OF MAGI Will object strenuously to the Rite of Annulment. If he is trapped by Sloth, his dream will be of his wife, pregnant with their second child, and his son, all together.
BRECILIAN FOREST Will approve of breaking the curse, of uniting Cammen and Gheyna, and of saving Deygan and mercy-killing Danyla, as well as being honest with Athras.
ORZAMMAR Will approve of supporting Harrowmont, but can be persuaded by a Warden arguing that Bhelen will support change for the better in Orzammar. Will approve of lying to Filda, of encouraging Zerlinda to go to the surface, and of taking Dagna’s request to the Circle. He will approve of supporting Caridan.
LANDSMEET Regardless of previous approval or disapproval, Fergus will always support the Warden in the Landsmeet. He will never speak on Loghain’s behalf, and will always support executing him.
COMPANIONS Fergus and Alistair will recognize one another, however vaguely, and will get along well. Though he will initially distrust Morrigan, he will grow to be sympathetic towards her after learning of how she was raised. He and Leliana get along well, as do he and Zevran; he tolerates Wynne, but finds her too preachy for his liking. He and Oghren will get along well. Though he will be cautious with Shale, he will grow to like her. The only companion whom Fergus will actively despise will be Sten.
COMPANION STATS — INQUISITION
RECRUITED Fergus comes to Skyhold to swear fealty to the Inquisitor, and to offer his services. If accepted, he will remain as a companion.
IN HUSHED WHISPERS Slightly approves of alliance with mages, approves of conscripting mages.
CHAMPIONS OF THE JUST Slightly approves of alliance with Templars, approves of disbanding Templar order.
HERE LIES THE ABYSS Greatly disapproves of leaving the warden contact behind, disapproves of exiling Wardens.
WICKED EYES AND WICKED HEARTS Approves of Gaspard ruling alone, disapproves slightly of Celene ruling alone.
WHAT PRIDE HAD WROUGHT Approves of respecting Temple traditions.
JUDGMENTS AT SKYHOLD Generally advocates for and approves of mercy and recruitment.
JAWS OF HAKKON Approves of all help given to the Avvar.
CONNECTIONS

NOTES
DEFAULT WORLDSTATE Unless otherwise specified, or playing against another Cousland, Fergus’ default sibling is Wren Cousland, found at worldelivered.
ON FACECLAIMS Fergus’ appearance is dependent upon a Cousland Warden’s. His default face claim is Richard Madden, when interacting in a worldstate featuring Wren Cousland. I am happy to use different face claims for Fergus when pairing him with a different Cousland, and will make adjustments to his backstory as necessary to ensure that the ethnicities of his face claims are not ignored or brushed aside. If I ever get it wrong, please feel free to let me know if you’re comfortable doing so, and I’ll make whatever changes I need to make !!

If suddenly she rears pulls, pitches into the lightning
if the split sky strikes splinters the glassy ground (her stride is a circle growing smaller)
when she sees the stars —all skies have storms and she has seen them
if she shies and starts when she skids when she lowers her eyes if she stops to listen:
nervous rider, beware.

BIO (TRANSPHOBIA TW, VIOLENCE TW, DYSPHORIA TW)
What an angry little thing. Your mother said the day you were born. No matter how she held you, no matter how long she let you lay, no matter how much you ate, no matter how much she tried to soothe you, you screamed and screamed and screamed. She said it with a smile on her face, a sweet and affectionate thing, as she thought that, perhaps, this would grow into passion. ( It did, but the angry remained tucked behind your ribs, messily entangled with your passion. )
What an angry little thing. Your first teacher said the first day of school. Another student called you a boy. It was not malicious, and at the time, you did not yet know why that word applied to you left your emotions a mangled mess of anger and pain and despair. Nonetheless, you lunged at the boy. It was written off as the result of too much energy.
What an angry little thing. Your mother said the day you yelled and yelled. Now, you were a preteen at the time, and you felt wrong and wrong and wrong. All you knew, you wanted to do something to stop the feelings that paralyzed you. You needed her to do something, to stop it, to help you.
What an angry little thing. Your father said when you first put a pin on your bag. Newly sixteen, newly legally named Morrigan, and newly moved into an apartment in Dublin with your family, you had no qualms about putting a transgender pin on your book bag the first day at your new school. We already moved all this way. He said. You really got to flaunt it here too? And you cannot remember anything other than the anger and the tears as you spat insults his way as you stormed out of the apartment.
What an angry little thing. You said as you cleaned up a cut. It was a long and thin angry red line above your brow. A protest gone wrong, really. An act of rebellion gone wrong, really. Gone wrong when a counter protester got too bold and you got caught in the crossfire. ( Of course, you had been in quite a few fights before then, your angry always likely to propel you into a clash of fists. )
What an angry little thing. Your first girlfriend said after she dumped you. The relationship had been a long one, at least to the standards of two high school seniors. Days before graduation, while you voiced your angry about your father, about the kids in you class that didn’t understand you, about politicians that cared more about staying in power than people staying alive, watched you, took in your righteous anger and your over-exaggerated hand motions. She narrowed her eyes, something akin to annoyance crossing her face. I don’t see why any of this fucking matters. She interrupted. Can’t you just let this dumb shit go? Minutes later, you stormed out of her house, swallowing rage and wiping away your tears.
What an angry little thing. Your mother said after you packed your bags and stormed out of the house. You loved her, you really did. While you father wanted to ignore you, pretend that you were not different in a way he could not reconcile with the image of the world and the image of you he held, she offered you love and support and helped you get what you needed to live as the person you were. Except, maybe she never understood you, never understood the angry that beat in tune with your heart, and maybe she never would. He’s trying his best, Mor, can you try to see things how he does? ( Three time’s a pattern, you thought as you threw your bags into the cab, wiped the tears away, and tasted iron. )
Your anger is a good thing. A pretty girl said against your lips. And maybe that was the only the second time someone had praised your angry and the first time that you could remember. It’s fucking hot. It wasn’t the validation you craved, exactly, but it was enough for you that first year of college. You kissed her and you kissed her and you convinced yourself that you were in love with her not because she thought your anger, something that pushed you away and away and away from most everyone else, was something to be admired, something hot.
Your anger is a good thing. A college professor told you after a lecture about declining ecosystems. Animals and plants and microorganisms were dying off. They were not dying to put food on the table, they were dying because of the avarice and carelessness of humans. When called on, you could not bite your tongue, could not stop the spiel about the injustice of it, the horror of it, and the ways the world was being ruined. Another pin, one calling for more environmental protections, was added to the collection of pins that adorned your bag.
Your anger is a good thing. You thought as you packed up your bags, leaving to studying the wildlife on a Greek Island over the summer. A professor had suggested it, handed you a pamphlet for the aboard program for a summer research program for undergrads and a fall semester spent there hosted by your university. You applied nearly as soon as you got back to your dorm, and when you found out you got into the program, your excitement was nearly palpable. You would be helping out with research that might change the world, might help save a burning planet, and you could not imagine a better summer.
Your anger is a good thing. You reminded yourself as idyllic life on Kaos made you consider staying. It lulled your anger into a dull thing, sometimes, on the days you had off from the research program. The beaches and the green and the sleepy smiles of the native residents of the Island, it left you with lowered blood pressure, and you wanted, perhaps selfishly, to never leave the beautiful beaches and the quaint village. Of course, of course, you forced yourself to remember the flaws of your world, the animals elsewhere that were dying for no purpose, and the people that were dying because of hate alone, and you knew, deep down, that you could not stay there for the rest of your life.
PERSONALITY EXPANSION
adventurous→ Deep within your heart, there has always been a want, the all-consuming and clawing kind, to find excitement wherever and whenever you went.
fervent→ Your passion is a sort of undying thing. Once you set your mind to something, you are unshakeable in you convictions, and, with words or your fists, you will fight for what you believe with a fiery passion.
loyal→ While you are not the most friendly person, once you begin to care about someone, it’s almost impossible to chip away at the affection you feel for them.
protective→ Perhaps it is only natural to want to see those you care about out of harm’s way but, with you, it is an all-consuming thing, something that keeps you up with worry and forces your hand when someone you care about has been hurt.
aloof→ There is a distance between you and most people, a need to keep you heart safe from the many ways that people have hurt you before. To you, it is basic cost-benefit analysis that led to your decision to keep people at arm’s length rather than something more akin to fear.
argumentative→ Biting your tongue has not been your strong suit since you left the halls of your second-level school. University has thought the value of your words, even as you voice raises and blood pressure spikes, especially when your voice raises and blood pressure spikes.
irascible→ Burning alongside your passion is anger that you cannot ever seem to tame. Perhaps it is you anger, the way an injustice causes you blood to boil, the ache in your fists when men get a bit too creepy with a woman, the metallic taste as you bit you tongue in your youth, that fuels your passion.
resentful→ A bitterness runs through your veins, coloring the world a grey-tinted red, only made worse by the ways the world and basic human decency seems to crumble all around you.
TLDR (TRANSPHOBIA TW, VIOLENCE TW, DYSPHORIA TW)
Morrigan Driscoll was born in Galway, Ireland on July 1st, 1999. She spent most of her life in Galway, growing up there and going to school there until she was sixteen.
Her deadname is not important, so unimportant that I didn’t bother to think one up so please don’t ask about it.
Mora was always an angry child, prone to fighting and arguing with just about anyone she ran into. While her early fights were centered a lot about how she fight a disconnect between how she felt and her assigned gender, later it was also about how people were treated in society.
When she was fourteen, she came out to her mother as trans and began to transition, even if Irish law wouldn’t have let her legally change her gender identity. While her mom was entirely supportive, her dad was less so, not ever really understanding why she needed a big deal out of this gender stuff.
In 2015, a month after the end of the school year, Mora and her family moved to Dublin to avoid the stigma that she had been facing in Galway at her school since she started to transition. This was something that her dad held over her, acting like it was just more proof that she was being ridiculous about the entire thing.
This was also the year she legally changed her name and gender since Ireland passed legislation that year.
As supportive as her mom was, she never really challenged Mora’s father’s ideas and how he talked to Mora, so that led to a pretty strained relationship with both of her parents until she moved out for college. She doesn’t really talk to her dad much anymore but she does talk to her mom from time to time. She’s not really a part of Mora’s life but Mora’s not exactly that torn up about that.
She goes to Trinity College, getting a degree in biology, and summer research and fall semester hosted by the school brought her to Kaos three weeks ago.
While she’s on the island, she’s staying with Jonas !
She’s always been the activist type, going to protests and advocating for the causes she took up. Trans issues, women’s issues, and environmental issues are particular important to her but she does what she can for most causes she supports.
And similarly, she has always been a fiercely protective person of people who she think need, and those she is close to.
Her anger is still very much a thing getting her in trouble.
WANTED CONNECTIONS
I want all the connections but I have a page with a few ideas that you can find here !!

Note
i’m asking about your dragon age characters
molly i would KILL for u im ur personal hitman now
anyway i said my city now because the entire bioware writing team sucks shit xoxo and i’m so much smarter than all of them but also fully incapable of having a normal amount of ocs for anything (see: the time i made 20 rwby ocs in less than two weeks) so i have. five worldstates here r some assorted thoughts
uhhh so the worldstates r as follows
eira mahariel (two-handed berserk/champ spec), rhett hawke (two-handed berserk spec), alas lavellan (mage knight enchanter spec), romanced alistair/fenris/dorian respectively
shiv tabris (dual wield duelist/assassin spec), radella “rads” hawke (mage spirit healer spec), kat adaar (two-handed reaver spec), romanced morrigan/isabela/cassandra respectively because im a pc gamer and i think i should be able to date whatever video game woman i like because im infinitely better than cishet men
this world state said yeah i respect mens rights. mens rights to shut the fuck up
twins bronson (sword/shield reaver spec) & bryant cousland (archer ranger spec), carmine hawke (archer assassin spec), syracuse trevelyan (dual wield tempest spec), romanced zevran/anora/josephine/bull. if ur wondering how that works my city now and the warden, hawke and the inquisitor should all meet and so they do because i Said So
riva amell (mage arcane warrior/battlemage spec), graham “gray” hawke (mage force spec), hellathen “hela” lavellan (archer assassin spec); romanced cullen/anders and later blackwall because hawke only likes men who will break his heart. hela doesn’t have a romance because she’s literally 20. who let her lead the inquisition (me it was me). also it should be noted the version of cullen i have in my head only vaguely resembles actual cullen because i write better than dragon age writers ever could and i gave him an Actual Cohesive Narrative and he gets bullied relentlessly for being scrawnier than his mage boyfriend
malien “mal” surana (mage spirit healer/keeper spec), jules hawke (sword/shield reaver spec), ash adaar (mage rift spec), romanced leliana/merrill/krem because i should have been able to kiss krem and its a Crime that i am not allowed to
knight enchanter is a Very op specialization and by Very op i mean it makes a mage with their built-in low constitution stats able to solo the biggest baddest dragon in the game on nightmare mode in under five minutes so like. alas lavellan fist fights dragons for fun send tweet
i think lavellans should be able to hit ppl with bricks for all the shit they endure. thus solas gets pranked by mahariel and alas by which i mean they just tip buckets of water onto him from the rookery
kat might be my only competent inquisitor but she did also try to knock out the right hand of the divine and attempt to gap even tho there’s fucky magic burning up her hand so does she have a brain cell? you decide
also its fantasy land and i do what i want so kat has blue/gold sectoral heterochromia
gray “mage rights” hawke is best friends with fenris which surprises literally everyone. their friendship started because they got into a fist fight and then they were like okay i respect u now. hawke is like hey fenris give me ur sword i have a fun trick to show u [uses his sword as a foci to zap carver in the ass with lightning]
i am Always thinking abt like how cullen could have been one man anti-chantry propaganda machine if he hadn’t so blatantly been shoehorned into every game past origins so anyway bioware forgot about a wholeass moon i can write what i like. [holds up cullen by the scruff of his stupid armor] not only are you bisexual you are also a bottom
i also Hate the whole uwu mage haters get fixed by romancing a mage
unlocked secret dialogue option where my inquisitors verbally cuss out dorian’s dad instead of whatever sympathetic narrative the writers were going for cuz its bullshit.
riva is a showoff and a Menace about being as good as he is because he unabashedly loves being a mage and hes like oooh look at me im sexy i dont need to use my hands to cast magic because i’m just that good ;)) and you know what. hes right.
gray, on the other hand, does Not want to be mage. he wants to be a druffalo farmer and retire in the hinterlands and be left the fuck alone. unfortunately he is gay and has one brain cell and terrible, terrible taste in men. ribbed relentlessly for this by riva (altho does he have room to talk hes been hung up on cullen since he was like 13)
shiv is trans n kieran is the result of doing the dark ritual with her wife and he looks a Lot like shiv (dark skin pointed ears, shock-white hair) and morrigan always just Assumed she dyed it or did something magic with it so seeing their kid come out like that was a WEIRD time for her
leliana almost Murdered by cassandra in worldstate 5 because the warden is Actually There The Whole Time, but its been 10 years, mal’s cut off all her hair and gotten full facial tattoos and she’s like “no one will know its me its fine” and she’s right. she gets away with it. only cullen like, Knows, because he knew her before the blight but he doesnt have a death wish n he like. will Not piss her off
shes dalish by birth n she was stolen from her clan by templars and thus is vehemently anti-circle and anti-chantry in general
uhhh the vallaslin (elf face tattoos) of my 4 dalish characters are:
eira = ghilan’nain (chose em cuz shes rlly interested in the navigation aspect of the goddess)
alas = falon’din (god of the dead n he picked them because he’s Also the god of fortune and alas is like tee hee fun but also he can and will kill u if u fuck with him so yk its fitting)
hela = june (god of the craft bc she likes to Make things but june is also the god who taught the elves 2 hunt and hela is. a hunter.)
mal = elgar’nan (allfather/god of vengeance bc. she is Vengeful. she is Angry. but yk fucking with shem politics and fucking their divine is like. mal may have little a retribution. as a treat.) yes she has the full half-face solid colour tattoo she does NOT fuck around.
bronson and bryant r not genetically identical but they Look similar enough 2 anyone who doesn’t know them well enough 2 play spot the distance. anora and bronson think this is a super fun game to play, especially when nobles realize they’ve swapped out the king but they’re too nervous to say anything
eira mahariel has two hands. one is for holding hands with alistair and the other is for throttling elven gods, apparently. she’s killed one before so solas she’s coming for your bitch ass next. watch urself.
speaking of eira and alistair are married thru dalish tradition and humans don’t recognize it n alistair loves 2 re-propose to her with random things. he’ll just pick up like. a bit of cheese and be like “marry me ;)” and she’s like GASP but whatever will the chantry say!!!! all of their friends r sick of them
“vhenan if you love me bring me a sword” “you think i could do better than a sword made out of space rock?” “:)”
eira is my youngest hero at 18 at the start of her game and kat is my oldest at 32 at the start of her game.
none of my hawkes are under six foot. rhett is the tallest (6′8″) and rads is the shortest (6′2″).
syracuse trevelyan would have been the Perfect inquisitor if he were not a pretty boy himbo and a gay bastard who does Most Things just to spite his parents.
[corypheus pointing at syracuse’s visage in his crystal orb thingo] i want that twink obliterated
i love the companions from older games return thing i truly do so i make it a point for Every companion to return in inquisition so the gang rlly is all here because i am a Slutte for found family
i lie in my keep worldstates because i dont want to choose between hawke and alistair during here lies the abyss but i never make him king and every time i play inquisition and cole has the wicked grace line it makes me Scream. alistair baby im so sorry i did this to you but i didnt actually do this to you
yes this is my everyone lives au but like. all the time. i have never left hawke in the fade and i do not intend to.
fuck whatever nonsense about wardens not being able 2 have kids. by sheer divine power (me) anora and bryant have three daughters; eleanor, sabina & cecelia n both bronson and zevran make Excellent uncles because i think anora deserves good things because i’m tired of bioware being like women bad, actually,
so like most of the time i have the warden & hawke turning up after the move to skyhold n then staying on, with the exception of bryant, carmine & mal. mal is as mentioned previously just There the whole time with her girlfriend. bryant steps in as king of ferelden w/ interests in closing the big hole in the sky spewing demons in2 his kingdom yk. carmine shows up because she wants to help & she wants protection for bethany but she outright says she’d rather die than be inquisitor so cassandra is shit out of luck.
“CHANGE HER MIND VARRIC” “she once doubled down on insisting amaranth was a shade of blue because she didn’t want to admit to being wrong. no one’s changing her mind seeker”
alas is the middle child of eight and is thus very good with children and also bossing around people older than him. 2 of his older siblings come to the inquisition when stuff in wycome has been settled
i left ash with the basic canon background with Some variation (he grew up under the qun and left of his own free will when his magic was discovered n he realized he couldn’t take living as a saarebas
kat on the other hand was raised tal-vashoth and has bounced around basically all over thedas and leads her own merc company when the conclave blows up. she also speaks multiple languages. is there a language she doesn’t speak? probably not
just realized how long this got so im gonna like. stop my general rambling now but lmao yeah theres some basics. waves hands.
#sol.txt#sol.orig#long post#late night followers im SO sorry for this#but also like.#i love them so yall just have 2 cope w/ it#no thoughts head dragon age#peonydarling

2019 Year in Review
@dafan7711 tagged me in a very lovely invitation to give a year in review of my writing and I honestly have no idea how to explain what I’ve accomplished in terms of fandom this year, because it has been such a weird and unexpected new endeavor for me (I just barely started sharing my writing in 2018, so I’ve got no frame of reference, really).
Writing
If I look at my AO3 stats, I’ve published 212,569 words this year and...well...that seems unbelievable to me! It took me six years to finish a PhD program and a 150-page dissertation, but I’ve basically written three times that this year alone, and have so much more to go in my three main WIP series...
Lost and Found: The Misadventures of Marian Hawke and Everyone She Meets is my oldest published DA fan fiction child (always incomplete), and it is still my favorite, most of the time, even though my progress on it has not been the most consistent this year (a theme...). It is sort of AUish, with a major break from canon at the end of DA2 that sort of sets the rest of the series in motion. This year, I’ve been mostly writing the middle section, wherein Fenris and Hawke realize their mutual love and grief for Anders and each other...and it’s kind of an angst fest, but with an already-spoilered happy ridiculous ending for everyone (well, at least I think it’s pretty happy). A lot of the later stuff I wrote first, and I’m kind of impatient to get to it in the subsequent parts of the series. So when you see me posting random fenhanders domestic fluff, it’s because I lack any kind of discipline or self-control.
Dread Moon was a collaborative effort with a dear friend who, like me, was pretty new to writing and sharing it. I absolutely loved the sort of gentle, collaborative, constructive process we developed and the way the series has lent itself to our continued, more distant collaboration on two separate, but related and concurrent spin-offs. It’s a different world state from my Lost and Found series, more canonical (except where it isn’t), and involves more of the Inquisition characters. It allowed me to play with some different situations and relationships, and it was great to have someone else’s brain to pick and work with. The accountability of having someone else waiting for me to finish a section so they could write the next did wonders for my productivity, as well! I stole an OC from my collaborator and now I’m mostly focused on writing his and Anders’ fluffy love story, In Deep, in that series.
But of course, in developing my parts of the story for Dread Moon, I realized I needed a Solona Amell, which prompted me to replay Origins for its tenth anniversary. Then, of course, I realized I needed an Origins series to collect all my head canon for that, and so my newest series, Solona Amell and the Rogue Wardens of Ferelden was born. This will eventually overlap with Dread Moon when Anders and Alarion regroup with the missing Wardens. Not sure how I’m going to organize that. I’ve got so many feelings about my Amell and her wife, Divine Victoria...and Alistair, and Morrigan, and everyone else!
Reading
I have not been nearly so productive in my reading of others’ stuff, and it kills me, because I love to read and appreciate and leave comments on fics (it’s what got me started sharing my own writing, after all!), but it can be very hard for me, as the mother of a toddler, to find the time/focus/justification to sit down and read (whereas my writing brain is seemingly always engaged and ready to jot down a hundred ideas at once on whatever I can get my hands on). I have a very dear friend who recently published her second novel in a trilogy. I devoured her first book (I was given an ARC to check for stuff her editor missed) in one night, and have yet to even read the second, and the guilt can be so overwhelming! I feel the same way about some of the fan fics I’ve not been keeping up with, so I’m committing to spending most of January focusing more on reading than on writing (though it would be impossible for me to stop writing altogether)! Apologies in advance for annoying comments on all your old stuff!
Community
Stealing this format from other people, but I really love this aspect of the year in review. I’ve tried to get more involved in the DA fandom community, even though I still don’t really feel like I “get it” in the sense of how tumblr works, how best to share my stuff or stuff I like from other people, but I appreciate tags like this one. I am pretty easily intimidated in these spaces (which, if you knew me IRL, might surprise you), so I have yet to really jump into some of the aspects of this community for fear of not being able to find the time to keep up with stuff at the level of excellence so many of you are capable of. Still, I love and appreciate the little community of mutuals I’ve managed to push my way into. There’s so much love and support and encouragement here, and I can’t wait to push myself a little harder to interact and connect with more of you! I love what you create!
And speaking of community, if any of you would like to share a review of your own year or a life update...please do!

Hey, do you have any advice for somone who may wanna make fan gods for smite?
i’ll answer this to the best of my ability but know that i don’t make god concepts often lmao, i’ve made one in the past and that’s about it. if you want a better answer w/ someone who has personal experience you should ask @raijinswaifu as she’s got 10000 excellent god concepts so she probs has a little more knowledge than me lol ;P also ask @izahunny if you want to talk about the actual visual design of your fan god as his gods literally have the best outfits i’ve ever seen periodt!
anyways, here are some general tips lol
know what you actually want to make - if you just want to make a god for writing and what not then you don’t need to think about in-game stuff too much BUT try to consider:
what makes them interesting/different to other gods- there’s so many warrior gods out there with slightly different motives but they’re all basically the same guy so do try and make your concept interesting! also i’d avoid the greek/roman crossover as you might end up with the same god but very slight differences lol. don’t let that stop you from following that if you like that sorta stuff of course
their background (lore, personality, culture, pantheon relationships) - if you don’t do your research then you’ll get a god that shares a name with their source material but isn’t like them at all lol. you can defs put your own spin on them and re-contextualize it like persephone’s lore (because some versions of the myth are less than consensual… yikes) but don’t go too wild w/ that lol
naturally, using existing gods and pantheons is a whole lot easier than coming up with new ones. finding a god that’ll work for what you want is surprisingly easy as there’s so many niche deities around that you can really add detail to and flesh out. if you’re not too sure on how you want something to look or work then use other gods as a base as well
try to keep abilities lore/god power relevant otherwise you’ll end up with a backgroundless kit that could be given to another god with a few changes (i’m looking at you odin). the morrigan’s really great w/ her kit as it shows off all her powers really well, esp. that 2 w/ the extra dmg as that plays into her controlling fate and manipulating others into doing her bidding
don’t worry too much about appearance if you can’t draw, try to find a face claim (like actors, models, etc.) to help you visualise your god. i’ve also seen people make mood boards of their ocs and i think that’s a great way of showing who they are in another visual way
and don’t panic too much about numbers and stats, they help flesh out the gameplay but personally i care waaaaay more about the god themselves and what their story is
(also feel free to tag me in the finished product btw :^>)
#i'm sure you know about all this stuff tho lol#but i suppose this'll be a good reminder? i hope so lmao#you are better off asking those two tho#they're much more knowledgeable than me#my mutuals... truly iconique legends#anyways! thanks for the ask lol <3#answered asks

Odette
Burg (Munchlax)
Ability: Pickup*
Ball: Pokeball
Nature: Quirky, loves to eat
Moveset: Belch, Stockpile, Recycle, Body Slam
*debated between Pickup and Gluttony, but I felt that Pickup characterized him better -- like Doraemon, he is constantly seen munching on food that he somehow found. Admittedly, he does forage/scavenge in dumpsters a lot. Semi-expensive items, like Super Potions, Great Balls, Escape Ropes, Repels, etc., occasionally fall out from his fur. When at a loss or in need of help, Odette is often found demanding Burg to check whether he has anything useful. He was once seen casually eating a Big Mushroom (would have made Odette a small fortune if sold) and throwing away an Ultra Ball.
Mr Trunks (Donphan)
Ability: Sturdy (cannot be knocked out in one hit, will hold on)
Ball: Great Ball*
Nature: Docile, loves to eat
Moveset: Rollout, Slam, Endure, Bulldoze
*the Great Ball was a gift from Morrigan **also knows: Take Down, Return
Herc (Heracross)
Ability: Guts (he's so gutsy that having a status condition pumps him up and boosts his Attack stat)
Ball: Pokeball
Nature: Brave, loves to eat
Moveset: Endure, Bulk Up, Mega Horn, Take Down
*also knows: Return

I love my players
So I was GMing my monthly DFRPG game and this happens:
Our game is set right before Summer Knight. We've just finshed a major story arc and I wanted to run a third season Episode 0 to get a feel for how people felt after the drastic changes that happened in our last session. I'd only lightly preped so I had to wing a monster based on my players description. This is pretty normal for Fate. Plus once you get over the learning curve as a GM it makes the system a lot more fun to run.
The set up: the parent's of The Morrigan's Eyes, For Now(TMEFN) are in the burn unit at Presby in PGH. Their house caught fire in a highly suspect manner shortly before pc's were going visit. As they walk to a waiting room I have them roll alertness then ask the person with the highest score to tell me what they saw. So now I have an official looking lady doctor with no shadow. My thoughts went to some kind of powerful emotional vampire so I flipped open Our World to Lord Wraith's entry and reskined it on the fly.
The Practicing Angel(PA) managed to detect my new shadowless monster was up to no good. She botched her roll to do the "accidental" bump into the monster. This is where another of the fun mechanics in Fate comes into play. Instead of failing she chose to succeed at a cost. The creature realized PA was on to her and as a reaction triecd to drain the PA in a suprise round before the group could react. Instead of lust I picked mental exaustion as the emotion the creature fed on
Luckily The PA has high mental fortitude and only took stress. Now comes the rolls for initiative. At the top of the order is TMEFN, who decides she absolutly had it. In the process of finding a loophole out of her bargain with the Morrigan she'd discovered she'd been set up big time by someone other than her boss replace her centuries old wizard predecessor. Possibly since TMEFN was four. And someone yoinked her soul out of her body and held it hostage to get an unspecified favor from her boss. All of this happenec in the last 72 hours in game time.
THEFN suprises all of us at the table lands a fantastic social atack with presence. TMEFN goes into full emisary of power mode complete with change of hair color and the apperance of a blood red Medieval gown. Marching up to the creature she shouted "That's it, I've had it! You stop that right this instant!"
The thing is the creature dose. It filled it's moderate consequence with This is Above My Pay Grade and conceded the fight. Upon interagation we learn the creature is an anonymously hired paid assasin who is pissed off that she was unknowingly sent after the family of an Emissary of power. Mostly because the fee is several orders of magnitude higher and failure to disclose puts her client in breach of contract. It told us You may call me "Kira" then became a shadow and disapeared to go hunt down and eat her former client.
After the creature I made up on the fly dissapeared, another of my players, Modern Professional Celtic Hero(MPCH), makes a great Lore roll to identify this thing. Now I have no more of a clue what this thing is than MPCH's player does. So I flip the question back to him. After a moment of thought he comes up with this "Let's see it eas accedentaly created or summoned by an active fandom forum on the internet. Um, it's sort of the opisit of a dream eater. It eats your conciousness while you're awake. Lets call it a Lucidityphage."
At this moment we realized we just created an in-game creepy pasta assasin that came to life. Probably from the SCP. Also now i need to dust off my rusty writer skills and actualy give this creature a srory so I can stat it out properly.
