sometimes i do think about the whole idea in mdzs of how like... wwx challenged/questioned the status quo (non-combatants innocent clan members being punished for the crimes of their kin), took direct action and was killed for it

and even after The Reveals we get no sense that the status quo will change. for all we know next time a clan starts trouble they're all gonna get killed for it, regardless of who has guilt

but it still feels like a happy ending, cause even if wwx himself couldn't do the change he wanted, he did enough

like, the blood pool scene, a-yuan, wen ning... they're all proof that even if wwx failed, even if nothing changed, he did enough, and that was worth something, that was worth honoring, that was worth their gratitude even after death

and idk. i just like that a lot
