I think it's not until like, halfway through the Shadow Cursed Lands or perhaps until the road to Baldur's Gate that Majexatli confesses to Wyll that they've been living a lie, they aren't really from Baldur's Gate really. It's something small really, but it had been eating away at them. It was a small lie at first that they didn't even think about until they learned that Wyll was Duke Ravengard's son and see more and more of Wyll's love for the city and it's people. Even with it eating away at them, they don't really fully realize it until they're approaching Baldur's Gate. People are talking about how it is to return to the city, about home Majexatli is gripped with a near paralyzing anxiety.
And they finally tell Wyll the truth, they had been born in Baldur's Gate, but they had been orphaned at a young age and their life had been so unstable and awful that as a child they ran away, knowing that they could die in the forest but it seemed far preferable that what their life had been. Even with the Druids they eventually found, they never felt they had a real place they belonged. It's been near 30 years since they saw the city, 20 years since they left their Circle and left behind any semblance of found family or friends. the city that wyll loves is the city is the same one that broke majexatli as a child and made them risk death just to leave it. While near everyone is walking the road to Baldur's Gate with a sense of coming home, Majexatli only feels an every growing, gaping void that they had never faced or even realized its existence.
#whats that one tweet. 3rd base is them letting them see you have a panic attack#i might expand on this later im slipping into a brain fog rip#OC: Majexatli#anyways majexatli is just. trauma and feelings of inadequecy and imposter syndrome. all hidden behind the apperance of a grizzled druid#look ive been off my usual antipsychotics for like 6 months now im incapable of creating or writing a character that isn't like#mildly delusional or deeply convinced of something untrue#(in this case Majexatli feeling like a fraud and believing they have irreparably betrayed Wyll and that he would leave them)#(which isn't true. for wyll this hardly even registers as a lie.)#(if anything. the only thing that saddens him is the knowledge of all the people who hurt majexatli)#(and that they felt they had to carry this burden alone)
