My dear, what you want isn't a character only a doll. You want Mattel to release a Bad Haircut Barbie line so Bad Haircut Barbie becomes an officially recognised part of the Barbie franchise that will also keep children away from scissors. The feature length ad is just there to provide you with the backstory for Barbie's Bad Haircut. And genuinely greedy producers will and in fact do already provide for it.

One would expect a fandom vocally critical of capitalism to be concerned with characters becoming so alienated from the narrative that they become mostly ads for franchise's other products.

JAIL ON WRITER FOR A THOUSAND YEARS #which is doubly funny considering the maggie nina plot is basically neilman - famous for his friendly attitude to fandom -#taking a good deep dive into the whole shipping thing #ok yeah you can put those character in austen and curtis situations but this isn't an austen or curtis story #it's not so much the matter of realism it's a matter of convention that it just won't work for these characters to hook up at this point #you know who it will work out for though? those two b-plot guys mainly because they are so firmly established in western canon #that the very idea of them falling in love is kinda blasphemous and the whole thing here is about juggling religious symbols #with dw it's kinda worse because considering no one wants to finish the story there can't be the right moment for any major development #like sorry but eaxh time i see thoschei being referred to as endgame i want to scream #not because there is no romance here but because there is no endgame here #and the drugged coffee theory really applies all too well to how the master gets interpreted lately #venting
