#i mean weve been running the blog this way since the beginning and ppl seem to like the posts we edit so no reason to change how its done

so do you make all unreadable posts u come across accessible or just ones u find relevant/morally right? (not trying to sound passive aggressive just genuinely curious)
well the majority are ones that people send to us/tag us in that they want to be made accessible, otherwise its anything on our dashes that we find hard to read, basically.
obviously, with limited energy and disabilities to be taken into consideration, more relevant/current posts are prioritised over more general ones, but theres a lot of varied content here.
there would be no point in only editing things one of us might want to read, because everyone has different interests, and, even though this blog started out with four friends making posts accessible for each other, we try to help out a majority of folks.
so we dont just stick to our fandoms etc, but seeing as the content is off our own dashes, its going to be centred around blogs we follow and our interests, lol.
if there’s current issues, i know i look for posts about it to try and find things to make accessible, but im not keen on going off the safety of my dash into the wider tumblr-sphere as theres a lotta nasty stuff out there.
this is why we invite people to send posts they need editing too, to get a wider selection of posts. and our followers are always sending in things, so thank you!
like i’d never see some posts you folks send in, so it helps us all learn more about different things and let more people read about different subjects.
yes, theres a lot of ~social justice~ type posts, because it is important that activism is accessible and inclusive and a lot of disabled folks struggle to feel a part of activism because they can’t always be involved in discussions, which is unfair.
this blog also has a lot of followers, more than my main for sure, so it’s a great place to share important posts such as things on current events, fundraisers, letting people know about dangerous users etc, to a wider audience.
also the posts aren’t always ones that mods agree with necessarily, this is something we’ve had to point out a lot. people should be able to read all sides of a discussion/event/story so they know the full context.
we just dont get a lot of people sending in posts from like i dunno. nazis and radfems, because luckily our followers are wise enough to know they’re harmful without needing their posts edited.
tldr:
we edit as many unreadable posts as possible, regardless of context.
they are either from our dashes or our followers, who often share the same views as our mods, hence why you see posts with the same views a lot.
also this isnt a safe space for nazis, radfems, harmful ppl etc so we’re not going to give their posts any support or views unless its helpful to understand the context of an event.
we will prioritize current events and more relevant issues over random posts like people’s stories, but we edit lots of those too, when we have energy.
accessibility in activism is important.
we edit different sides of discussions as people should be able to know all the context of a subject or issue. not all content is things mods agree with.
however we will let people know if there’s views we don’t support so they can feel safe on our blog.
