  ↳ [ 🤷‍♀️ ] how does your muse approach strangers? how does this compare to how they interact with close friends or lovers?

||.  byleth’s approach to strangers is both cordial and distant. she’s polite, to put it simply. i don’t stress it as much as i would like to in isola, but generally speaking, put her in a room with new people that she does not know and byleth will often try to fade herself into the background. she’d rather stand back and observe from a distance. become a wallflower ; the fly on the wall. she WILL speak with people, and she has a grace to her that ensures that even strangers will think that - while yes, she’s soft-spoken and perhaps even a bit curt - she’s rather charming.

       when she’s around close friends and family members, though, she lets her guard down. she usually finds herself talking a lot LESS. people who know her are encouraged to speak about their passions, likes, dislikes, problems, etc, and byleth will gladly lend her ear and listen. she doesn’t NEED to fill up any space... and they’re not going to pressure her to talk when she doesn’t have the energy to. she becomes comfortable remaining in silence with them.

  ↳ [ ⚰️ ] what are your muse’s greatest regrets? what would flash before their eyes when they’re on their deathbed?

      ||. if i had to choose a regret of byleth’s that is her biggest one (that isn’t that she couldn’t save jeralt, bc that’s obvious), then it would be her decision to go after kronya in the name of revenge. not only was her hand NOT the one to slay kronya, ultimately, but in willingly leading herself and her class into a trap just because she was seeing red, she nearly got her students (aka her best friends) into a situation where she nearly couldn’t have been there to protect them, AND nearly gave Slithers what they wanted: the end of the fell star.

      her obsession with revenge ultimately cost her sothis, too... not even a month after she lost jeralt. yes, it was fated. no, they couldn’t find another way. and yes, their merging was ultimately the best thing for them AND fodlan. but at the end of the day, byleth lost her greatest support.... and her dearest and oldest of friends.... not to mention the weight of living up to THE progenitor goddess. and now she has to live with that for the rest of her life.

  ↳ [ 😍 ] does your muse believe in true love? why or why not?

        ||. yknow? i don’t think she does per say. she believes in love. familial love, platonic love, romantic love, even, when she thinks really long and hard about “what is love”. but that’s not to say she has come to her own conclusion of what the ANSWER to that question means. she’s never had to think about it before. and romance isn’t especially practical, so she doesn’t have any reason to.

        at the end of the day, byleth is a person who falls in love without ever... TRYING to. but she feels deeply, and loves strongly. it catches up to her, one way or another.
