speaking of those sibling slideshows i mentioned, for some reason tiktok has filtered them out so when u look them up, they dont show up??? you just kinda get them on ur fyp one day. or atleast thats what happens to me. but if u look up sibling webweaving here on tumblr, ohhh boy. its basically an amalgamation of different types of media be it poetry, song lyrics, shows and movies, and book excrepts all packaged as one that pertain to a theme. my fav is those about mothers and siblings, so unequivocally human. its like walking down a museum tbh.

and agh, i loved your thoughts on the demon bros sibling dynamics. plus yeahhh, its kinda hard to take anything seriously since it is an otome game, BUT who says u cant come up with your interpretations and thoughts? whos gonna stop you? anyway, each brother has a level of depth that is screaming to be fleshed out, but its all very surface level on game. belphegors burdening shame and regret from watching lilith die in front of him, and by extension beelzebub having the same feelings and/or his own guilt. speaking of complex siblings dynamics, have you see succession? its a show on hbo. its about an ultra rich and powerful family that is ultimately, dysfunctional. theres four siblings and their relationship mean sooo much to me. i wont drop any spoilers just in case you dont know anything, but when i say dysfunctional i meant it!! one of the things i like about this show is that it doesnt have any flashbacks or show the backstories for most of the characters, rather they kinda drop pieces of information randomly and you just go ??? that happened ??? youd think it wouldnt be a good storytelling strategy bc how are you going to emotionally connect the story to your audience? but somehow, the show does it really well. for example, one of the brothers, roman, was heavily abused. and sometimes one of his siblings would go, "yeah i remember when dad used to heavily beat the fuck out of you" offhandedly, like its a cute little fun fact. and youre sitting there like....when did THAT happen??? ofc they wouldnt show it, but if you watch how roman and his father interact on show (roman is so submissive and scared next to his father) it starts to make sense. its like the "show dont tell" but they switch around to "tell and show." subtle interactions like that fully exposes a characters psychology. subtle body language goes a long way. theres also the eldest brother connor, whos seen as the father figure bc their real dad is so neglectful. but tbh connot gets shit on a lot and uuyfuefehfe theres more. i would talk about this all day. sibling angst got me on a chokehold.

Oh man, so I did a search for sibling webweaving and I was like woah what is all this lol. I had no idea there was a term for stuff like this, but I'm fascinated! I must not be getting the TikTok videos... admittedly my use of that platform is limited lol.

The thing about the otome game not delving into things means that we all get to speculate and come up with whatever we want. It's a blessing and a curse lol. On the one hand, I like being able to come up with my own interpretations. But on the other hand, it'd be nice to have just a little more depth that what we have.

I have thoughts about Belphie and specifically what happened in the OG with him. That was definitely a situation of, there is so much more going on here than they're bothering to get into. I also get that they can't really do a ton of that, partly due to the medium and partly due to the amount of characters they have to deal with. Like I think they can only choose to flesh out certain characters and the rest kind of end up on the back burner. Which is annoying because there's so much potential for so many amazing stories!

I also have a lot of thoughts about Satan and his relationship to Lucifer and everybody. It's like they give us just enough to make the story dramatic, but in the end everybody loves each other and so on and so forth. I'm not saying both Satan and Belphie shouldn't be able to reconcile what happened to them and move on, but it just happens so fast. It seems too easy. So I kind of headcanon it as, they hide everything. Not just those two, but all the brothers have a certain level of trauma that they just bury deep or at the very least don't display in front of MC. I know they make MC out to be the demon therapist, but nobody resolves their issues in one session and that's all they're normally limited to. But of course they don't have time to get into things that deeply in a mobile otome game lol.

I have not seen Succession! It sounds pretty intense. I think it's always interesting when media use different techniques to tell their story. Of course I have very little knowledge of how TV scripts are written, but for story writing, the way a character reacts can imply all kinds of past history, even if you don't know exactly what happened. Flashbacks are helpful, but I think it's interesting to have a bit of a mix. A character is always going to tell the story of their past a little differently than how it actually happened. And I find that it can reveal a lot about character just to see what they change or leave out when telling it. Of course, who they're speaking to can affect that as well. But it's definitely an interesting concept!

100% agree with that other ask though maybe ppl are so out of touch with their own reality due to social media that even the idols cant fully enjoy all they post for their own fans. fancalls etc etc. i feel like too much of it is abt them building so much recognition online they forget to really see that social media isnt the only place they can be recognised and i mean idols go viral for both good and "bad" things in seconds. it feels like thats all kpop has become abt lately. dumb arguments online, fanwars, not really actually seeing the good in sometning or someone and ppl tearing down actually innocent idols for no valid reason.

i mean u can go to youtube or tiktok and it takes seconds to find a new group then u go down their rabbit hole and find more stuff except its not all decent not sunshine and rainbows 24/7 but its like once someone deems something of an idol as bad when it isnt it takes the fun out of it then theres ones who actually do genuinely bad things and ppl ignore it like ehhh let him or her do crime or bullying lmao. even with idols who are seriously well loved sometimes im like ehhh I didnt like xyzs behaviour towards xyz member but ppl act like bullying doesnt occur in groups themselves or that fans online if u can even call them that bully idols for nothing and then something else is another whole thing. ugh i dont know how u can keep reacting and reacting without feeling tired of it? kpops meant to be enjoyable for idols and audiences but so much is competition sadly so much is still glossed over thats the issue. i still love the groups i love but i want to separate it from kpop as a whole. we used to habe many groups in the west in the 00s but it really seems ppl centre a lot of their attention around kpop only and not seeing enough variation due to how much kpop is everywhere these days, which is both good and bad depending how u view it.

I agree with you too honestly. Like I said earlier I had to step away from kpop for a while as it was really getting to my mental health as well. Like I just want to support them and their music, I don't need the drama. I mean I even saw online some fans saying 'I want to start hating on this kpop idol bc I'm bored' it was wild.

I am going to rant about a tiktok. Bc first of all in basically any scenario if someone is giving advice on what you can change about yourself to not be abused it's already garbage advice. Even if it is a gay man self proclaimed girls girl trying to help women not be abused by men. Talking about how if you have low self esteem and show too much skin that makes you a target. So stop acting like an attention seeking loser and men wont mess with you. I'm pretty sure anyone who has ever been bullied abused etc knows its more complicated than holding your head up high. Like you should do that but it's not going to change how people who have decided they hate you are going to treat you. Men who hate women will still hate you if you're modest and confident. If they perceive an opportunity to assert power over you they will try. I hate to say this but maybe dont trust advice from men on how to "be safe from men". Just because someone is a man doesnt mean they actually understand why other men act the way they do, like it's can be nice to have another perspective, but women know what's going on too. B said that prior to "bg" she was a very private person and she is very very very private and "thats why i only have a few posts on instagram i'm not a poster" and "with the situation revolving me i cant stay private it doesnt allow me to be private" "i never had social media until this happened" meaning she only had social media bc babygate happened....BUT I THOUGHT YOU WERE PRIVATE?? And then "i'm private" 10 times, then immediately said "do u guys want me to make tiktoks? I'll so do that i'm so down for it i'm bored!!" (But u just said ur private???) She asked them if she should make tiktoks like most the live, then again said "we're super private but we're only doing this live because we're bored" and said that Freddie had carrots for dinner (only carrots??) Then said that she and Olivia have been together before the lockdown happened and they dont need to show us that they have been together before the pandemic bc they're "private" and they have taken tests and had "professional medical staff to show us we're not transferable" and "its not like we had random friends over we dont have friends Olivia is my only friend i dont have friends you know how ppl in LA are" and Olivia said "Bria is my only friend!" I'll do it, since all of you are requesting to play it, FINE only because you're requesting" and played it, the whole time Adore You was playing, she didnt look at the comments, focused on the Jenga, Olivia said "see! Its so nice" and B rolled her eyes and flared her nostrils, Olivia was swaying to it and singing along and B had this bitchy face and bitterly huffed, Olivia asked her again "do u like it now?" hm i don’t remember everything i know she said that she can’t be private (like in sm) because everyone already knows her situation (???), that her/her family and olivia can see each other because none of them are sick (which is… the most stupid thing they said probably), at some point when people asked if she was drunk she said she had had a bit of wine (hm sure), that f was sleeping upstairs (didn’t stop them from playing music and talking loud/screaming), she kept like throwing herself at olivia while she was dacing too, putting her hands on her face, trying to make her fall… it was cringey to watch (she was completely out of herself at this point)… i don’t know if there’s anything else worth mentioning ‘cause i couldn’t understand half of what she was saying and olivia was mostly speaking in spanish through the whole live (and b got really annoyed about that because she was getting all the attention lol). oh at the end she was like going off on people for calling her brenda?? but no one had done it until she started to say that so idk what that was about and when people kept asking for her to play adore you (she was waaaay more calm then, probably losing the effects of whatever she had used/drank), she got annoyed and was like “fine!” and she put the song and after that she didn’t look at the comments or the camera anymore and olivia kept pushing her to say something about the song/Harry and she was getting more and more annoyed by it like her face was literally 😑. they ended the live shortly after
