I just watched httyd live action AND GOT A VISION

So, I present httyd x svsss!!

(Warning, my first language isn't English, so sorry if it looks strange, and theres probably gonna be a lot of nonsense rambling + my knowledge of httyd is a little bit foggy right now so some thing might be inaccurate)

Sooo some plot points for the au ig:

—Because of plot reasons, once a dragon reaches a certain age, they go through dragon puberty, which give them the ability to gain a half-human body (😉😉) which is just they human version but with wings, tail, ears, etc.

—While lbh and sy relationship started rocky (the whole shoot down thing) we all know binghe so it wasn't long before binghe become obsessed with our dragon loving boy.

— implied mpreg or fem!Yuan Qingyuan cuz, you know? Shen yuan

—zhuzhi and binghe are still cousins (somehow)

—there is a reason why I chose Zhan Zhen as hookfang! You see, in og story snotlout and hookfang, had kind of a love/hate (not in romantic way, mind you) relationship and now that I rewatched the 1 movie I took notice that hiccup was the first one to act good and friendly towards hookfang and after that he just told snotlout to do it! So I see hookfang going a little bit like "yeah, I like this human(hiccup), so I will tolerate you because he chose you(snotlout)".

There was like a whole complication of snotlout and hookfang interactions and it was so goddamn funny, and now I'm just imagining snotlout being like "I'm your rider!" *Meanwhile hookfang resting his head on top of hiccup with toothless giving him the side eye* "are you sure?".

So you see the dynamic right?

Now....Ming fan and zhan zhen

—binghe (begrudgingly) tolerates Zhan Zhen and even let's him hang out with shen yuan (under his watchful eye!) Bcs he has beef with ming fan and Zhan Zhen conveniently sets him on fire every time!(zhan totally does it just to hang out with shen yuan, but also bcs he likes to fuck up with ming fan)

—at first binghe hated his tail injury but at some point he started seeing it more like a claim from shen yuan "I can't fly without him now and he knows it so now he will never leave me because of his guilt" and he just goes around proudly displaying his tail to the other dragons like "yeah my rider claimed me see?"

—unlike Astrid and hiccup romantic interactions in the movie, ning yingying and shen yuan started to see themselves more like siblings!

—lbh is totally acting normal about him and his A-Yuan having matching injuries that they gave to the other(They are matching!).

Fun facts:

—at first I wanted to put lqg as Astrid for yk romantic interaction and some beef with lbh, but then I got mgf as snotlout and I got like "oh! Nyy and mgf do act like Astrid and snotlout!" And then I got to the twins and the rest is history

—Tianlang-Jun miiight still be lbh father

—toothless is a nickname sy gave lbh

—ning yingying is binghes 2 favorite human

— Vikings call the nest The Abyss

—what? Sj dragged lbh into the Abyss? What are you talking about hahaha!

—sy spent asleep exactly 5 days after his Leg Accident

No but let’s talk about the whole Apokalips thing in Our Worlds At War. Young Justice 1:35–37, Superboy 1:91, Impulse 1:89.

Kon really, really screwed up. His impulsive and insubordinate actions, expressly against Robin’s orders and in full opposition to the rescue mission they were engaged on, led directly to:

the permanent death of one team member (Slobo is not Lil Lobo even if he does have his memories, and neither are any of the other regenerated Lobos, most of whom also die; original Lobo remains dead)

the partial death of another (Bart is in a coma for over a week after experiencing the death of his speedforce duplicate)

the start of Greta’s corruption arc via Darkseid

and the torture and thorough traumatisation of the rest of team (they are held in VR worlds where they are forced to live through the deaths of their loved ones and their own deaths, repeatedly).

Tim leaves Young Justice over this. Bart stops being a hero altogether for a while.

And we never see Kon apologise.

Okay so yes he acknowledges to himself he is entirely at fault for this. He spends a whole issue agonising over what he’s done and yes, he resolves to apologise to Robin.

But he never does. He gets distracted by some fallout from the war and by Joker’s Last Laugh. Tim gets involved again in World Without Young Justice, when reality has been altered and none of them are who they should be.

And then after that, Tim, who is relieved that his identity has been revealed (something he wanted to do long ago) in a way that he couldn’t control or be blamed for, asks to rejoin the team.

And.

Kon and Cassie do this:

(I’m not blaming Snapper, Ray, or Slobo, none of whom were there when this went down even if Slobo does have the memories of it. They are just following Kon and Cassie’s cues.)

And Tim reacts like this:

Which is not the reaction of someone who has already received a heartfelt apology.

And yes, then they hug and welcome Tim back into the team. But I think Tim ends up fully internalising that his leadership (and his refusal to share his identity, like they have any right to it) is to blame for the whole debacle. And Kon lets him go on thinking that.

Spoilers for animation vs addiction

That episode was. Well I don’t know any other word that could fit besides beautiful.

Blues spiral was done amazingly I think, we saw in the little thought bubbles that he had heard both sides of using the button, he knew about the warnings that it’ll destroy your life just like that, but also that is wasn’t all that bad, that it was actually fun or even good for you, it’s a pretty good commentary on how society represents substances (at least that’s my interpretation of it), and I love how him deciding to try it out isn’t shown as this moral failing, it’s him making an honest mistake without realizing the entirety of the consequences, his first impression of actually using it is positive, it’s only after abusing it for a while and having TSC intervene to keep him from falling off of a literal cliff to get to that next button does he truly realize the pit he’s dug himself into.

Also can I just say that I love how the buttons can be used as an allegory for a lot of different addictions, it doesn’t have to to strictly be a chemical substance for the story to make sense, and even the different colors can correspond to different forms of that same addiction (different forms of nicotine, for example)

All in all, this episode was done so so well, I think everyone was a little scared when it was announced but it really hit the mark, it tells us that it’s never late to turn back and to try and leave addiction behind us, and it shows the struggles of relapse and lashing out very well.

The episode isn’t telling us that drugs and addiction are bad, it’s showing us, and that’s what the show has always been about.

Anyhow, amazing episode, probably my favorite for a long time to come!
