i will harp on it until i die: the salt in the wound, the insult to injury of the intentionality in karen saying 'I'll miss you with all my heart', as in her entire heart was devoted to martha, not some implied part of it, not I'll miss you every day or I miss you more every day, or i'll miss you forever or some completely different grief striken sentiment or a repetition of a phrase they share like the running 'tomorrow' line. but its SO SUBTLE and so subtextual- Karen's pre-established conflict is splitting her affections between two people like its literally the name of the first movie- that then wyler hammers the fact that karen could give less of a hoot about leaving joe by showing him watch her walk away.
