only a couple pages into writers & lovers and i think i may dnf :/
#rlly loved the first pages i read but then there was a like an unnecessary ~b3astiality~ ref and well#essentially someone has a sex dream about their pet cat and it’s like. yeah. let’s not do that.#idk ive got a pretty high tolerance for ‘dark’ themes and tbf it was a really throwaway paragraph but idk#something about just didn’t sit well with me#maybe if id read it at a different point in my life i’d be okay with it but not right now#the fact is that ppl do sexually abuse their pets and it’s disgusting and it’s not something that should ever be normalized in any context#and im not saying that the author intended to do so by including an off hand comment about a DREAM someone had#but also the way it was so nonchalant and abrupt….#i may revisit the book at some point but for whatever reason im feeling *triggered* and it’s probably best to just move on for now
