Jacket!!!! Ye olde varsity I got at the very beginning of my transition thinking "Oh fuck yes I am going to pass so hard in this" and. Well. It never worked I just have never passed a day in my life I don't think 😔 Eventually it just became a beloved test subject and has since gone through a bit of a transition itself LMFAOO
Some Notes:
> A lot of the decorations are taken from old backpacks I loved dearly that got absolutely fucking destroyed by the weight of all the shit I'd lug around in highschool LMFAO (sketchbook, diary, all kinds of notebooks...). Never had the heart to get rid of them. Specifically: The pink zippers, the holographic pockets, the glow in the dark stars, and the holo angel wings!
> The pink/blue checkers are from a small decorative quilt I thrifted years ago, I wouldn't be surprised if it was handmade (it's super soft material, btw! Important LMAO). I only took out one line of squares, I plan on stitching the rest of it back together (haven't done it yet though LMFAO). The reason for this was to upsize the jacket, so I can button it without it clinging. The pockets were added for funsies ESP cause it lined up very well and aren't really practical LMFAO (BUT YOU CAN PUT THINGS IN THEM! If you want!! 🎉🎉🎉)
> The patches (esp the name/pronouns one) were the first additions actually. Eventually more and more things were added, but I will say all the pins on the opposite side of the patches were haphazardly placed for a concert I VERY BADLY wanted to look good for LMFAOO (that's when the stars were added too! Fighting for my life on the car ride over speedrunning sewing and trying not to throw up about it AHAKHSKSHDK)
> Spike placement may be odd and I'd like to add more, but also I do frequently still carry around big heavy backpacks so I have to take that into consideration. Which is also why the wings have been bolted on. Those motherfuckers are NOT going anywhere LMFAO (has a really cool visual effect too!!)
> The material of the jacket itself (sort of a swishy windbreaker fabric) IS ABSOLUTE ASS TO WORK WITH. BY THE FUCKING WAY. IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING. I would NOT recommend it to anybody ESPECIALLY someone who is just starting to fuck around and find out. I literally am just sticking it out bc of the sentimental value this fucker has to me 😭😭😭
This jacket was my first plunge into customization and punk fashion, I didn't have a plan and still don't have one (and I think it kind of shows lmfao). I do worry that it's too soft and cutesy. Kind of the whole point for me, when it came to leaning heavy into punk, was to feel sharper, like I had some bite to me. I might be getting closer, but I think I'm still just kind of a silly guy LMAO. But, I do think in a way, esp as my first project, it represents me well -- where I started, what I loved before the beginning, what I tried desperately to be, what I still wish for, reuniting with the things I loved and embracing them in a brand new context. It's still an ongoing project too! So maybe as I keep growing, it'll grow alongside me, maybe finding that grit I've been striving for along the way.
#the big concert was mcr. btw. and cause it was a stadium no one got to see the glowy stars anyway LMFAOOOOO#for that concert i desperately wanted to have a big piece inspired by house of wolves on the back.#but i have never been able to get it right.#but like. it is actually my favorite mcr song. i REALLY wanted to do something transgender w it too.#like tell me i'm a bad man. i AM a bad man. bad man in the context of the song AND bad man as in. in the eyes of the observer.#i am just doing it poorly. on purpose. fuck with me about it!!!!!#also 'tell me i'm an angel' would compliment the wings as well#but as an artist i find i am way better at cartoons/characters than literally anything else.#ask me to do something cool w fonts/words beyond simply being legible and i'll throw up and cry.#also something i don't want to say outright but feel okay sharing in the tags is Why punk is so important to me#is cause i am just. so sensitive. i always have been.#but in a world that is actively becoming more hostile to exist in as a very visibly queer person#AND as a noticably autistic person too know like i think i have gotten to the point where people notice Something about me#(which. is good. bc autistic masking absolutely fucking ruined me so fucking bad.)#i need to get stronger. tougher. sharper. more dangerous. to exist as i am and to do so so boldy#i need to have the bite to back it up. i still feel like a prey animal but i have teeth i have claws.#going back to my church even for a moment has made me 10% eviler also. inspiring me to be the thing they fear.#so i think once i've rested i'm gonna go back to the drawing board for that transgender house of wolves backpiece.#diy punk#my projects

Greetings fellow surfer of the web ! I have interest in contributing to the Aphmau fandom wiki as I have noticed many sections are outdated or outright missing . As you seem to be knowledgeable in this subject , may I inquire in which ways I could possibly be of assistance? Essentially what're your tips for someone hoping to add to the wiki and do you know of any sections that do specifically need information added
hooray hello!!!!! I'm currently one of the top aphmau fandom wiki contributors and at this moment there's only... maybe 2 or 3 other consistently active contributors so I'm glad you're interested
here's some pages that need love off the top of my head:
-every single ultra nova episode article is currently a stub. needs blurb, summary, video (trivia can be discarded)
I've already filled every single Phoenix Drop Days episode and almost every character article so I believe its Dreams of Estorra, Ultra Nova, Heart Point, Mod Mod World, and MyStreet Side Stories that are very lacking in characters and episode information
-the later episodes of mcd season 3 articles are also quite barren. there's many many mcd episode articles that are barren that need more info, though, but I think season 3 is p important
-the intro text at the top of every mystreet episode articles should be fact checked ex: "Xyz" is the 4th episode of MyStreet: whatever. It premiered on April 4th." Sometimes the dates or names incorrrect.
-Many many pages need to actually downsize instead of upsize. Popular pages of the main MyStreet cast are utterly flooded with far too much long winded information. mystreet aphmau, aaron, kim, kawaii chan, and ein come to mind. Episode summaries as well are very long winded and ironically need to be summarized
-the most sensitive pages I'd say are Mys Aphmau, Mys Ein, Mys Zack for ykw... I personally believe in the red herring jess promised but most other people think otherwise so I'm completely at a loss as to assemble the relatives part of their wiki and stuff.
-The most vandalized pages tend to be garroth/laurances pages in mys and mcd because garrance vandalism lol but there are pages out there that I dont know of that may have some random junk written in the corner
-I would love to figure out a way to better format Transcript pages since all of them currently look like a mess and are difficult to read.
-many characters need an "Episode Appearances" section on their pages
this is all I can think of right now :D hope more people help clean up and contribute to the wiki together 🤝🤝🤝

Fundamentals 1: Week 10
10th May
In our class this week we looked at how InDesign can be used to design, organise and publish books. We opened up InDesign and created a new file which was in A5 and made sure that the measurements were in millimetres. Once we had our file we made sure to have the essentials toolbar set to Advanced and that we had our Pages palette open by going into the Windows menu and selecting Pages. Toby explained how 4 pages in the pages palette actually adds up to just 1 printed page. Here's how I explained it in my notes:
We also had a quick run through of some commands that are helpful to remember while making a book in InDesign, they were: Z + click and drag = zoom in/out Space + click and drag = move around Shift + X = swap the stroke and fill / + clears the fill or stroke V = select A = direct select W = toggles the preview of pages (without any guidelines) Command + ; = toggles guides (without going into preview mode) Shift + Command = scale down an object without cropping it Tab = hides all palettes and toolbars Holding down Shift while upsizing/ downsizing text can make it change size in larger portions Now that we got a pretty good understanding of how the pages work and the commands that can help us direct operations, we then were asked to create 8 pages so that there is a cover page, a back page, and 3 spreads in the middle. Here's how that looked on InDesign:
We needed to have some sort of text to show our cover page and back page so all we did was add a text box with the appropriate text as seen below.
Our next task was to familiarise ourselves with the A-parent and [none] functions which are seen at the top of the pages palette. The A-parent function (when the actual A-parent text is double-clicked it will highlight both pages) allows us to add something to the spread which will then be added to every other page. This acts like the header + footer functions seen in Microsoft Word. The first thing we did to the A-parent pages was add a small header that said "demonstration booklet" and placed that i the top centre of both pages as seen below. After clicking out of the A-parent pages and onto one of the pages we have in our palette you could see that this header has been added to every page. However, we don't actually want this header to be seen on the cover page and back page, but we can get rid of those without having to alter anything in the A-parent pages by using the [none] function. What this function does is it allows us to drag the page icon to the right of the [none] text and drag it onto any of our pages to remove the text/ objects that have been added by the A-parent function. We did this to the cover page and back page which then removed the "demonstration booklet" from the top of those pages, while the rest remained the same.
We then wanted to have some page numbers on our spreads. To do this we first went into the A-parent function and made a text box which said "Page 1" and placed it on the bottom left of the left page, and then created a copy using Option + Command to then make it position on the bottom right of the right page while still being in line with the original. After adding this to all of the spread pages we realised tat all of them just said "Page 1" but we want them to change according to the actual page number. In order to fix this we highlighted the "1" on the first page in A-parent, opened up the Type menu and went down to the Insert Special Character tab. In the image below you can see that we then went into Markers and selected Current Page Number. This then turned the "1" into an "A" but after clicking out of A-parent and checking the other pages, we could see that they have all adjusted to their appropriate page number. Success! I have some screenshots of the different pages below:
The next thing we looked at was the margins and columns of the pages and how we can adjust them. First we made sure we had the A-parent function selected and then opened the Margins and Columns options page which can be found in the Layout menu. Below you can see what the Margins and Columns options page looks like. It shows that we can adjust the margins of the pages either all together (linked icon is shown) or we can adjust the individual margins by clicking on the linked icon so that it is crossed out and adjust one margin at a time (i.e. only move the bottom margin up). This makes it easy to have the right guides for where we want to place text or images on a page.
There is also the columns options on the same page which increases the number of columns on our pages. Something that Toby told us was that we can use a large number of columns (I used 8 for example) to help form a grid system on the page. This doesn't mean that we have to fit text boxes into each of the 8 columns, the outlines of the columns can also act as guides that a text box can "snap" on to. For instance, I have 8 columns but may decide to make a text box that is 5 columns wide, and another one beneath it that is only 3 columns wide (seen in the image below). This allows me to have more asymmetrical text or images on the page and still have a grid system that I can follow to make it neat and lined up.
The last thing we talked about in this class in regards to our demonstration booklet was to be considerate about how the margins and columns are displayed which can vary depending on the kind of book we are designing. An example that was used was a tourist/ travelling booklet that is typically rather small but filled to the brim with information so the margins need to be very small, whereas more formal books such as the quick example I made below are more likely to have bigger margins and enough spacing between the header, the text or image, and the page number below.
That was pretty much it for this class! I found this very informative and I am enjoying learning more about InDesign as I had no experience with it when I started this Fundamentals class. It's quite a satisfying software to use and we were just given a new project for the next few weeks to create a children's book which will be fun and challenging. Looking forward to see what I can do!

TO BE TAGGED SEND AN INBOX/ASK PLEASE!
Masterlist
The Orpheum, 1995
The line up comprised of countless girls wearing homemade band shirts for the new band performing. Your little sister, at thirteen years old, had pleaded for weeks if not three months to go watch it. It was odd since she was more in the pop scene than the rock music. Your parents would never let her go to the rock show at night, so it was you or no show. It took a promise of doing your chores for an entire month and her dessert for two months. That was why you stood beside Harper among the fangirls while you clicked through the camera you’d saved up for years.
“I’m so excited.” Harper buzzed dancing on your feet as the time on her watch dwindled down more and more.
Your eyes flitted from the screen to the ball of energy you called your little sister, “I can tell. Which one do you have a crush on?”
“Reggie. He’s the bassist and so fucking-sorry freaking cool.” Harper gushed, “A good portion of the fans are obsessed with the lead singer Luke. Bobby is the rhythm guitarist, and he’s a ladies man, but he’s sweet about it.”
“And you’d know that how?” You questioned letting go of the camera around your neck. Your e/c eyes meeting her matching pair of irises; well yours were a bit more vibrant.
“I just know.” Harper retorted before beaming as she roughly poked the pin she’d made herself, “This represents all of them. Red for Reggie’s plaid shirt he always has, orange for Bobby’s love of oranges, yellow for Luke’s energy and pink for Alex because he loves the colour!”
The pin had their band design with Sunset Curve on it with the words outlined with a sunset made up of red, orange, yellow and pink just as Harper had pointed out. By far, it was her best work, but that was expected from an art student at Los Feliz High School. An art school for artists and performers. You attended for photography and creative writing just as Harper attended for art.
“That might be your best work Harps.” You complimented your little sister who shivered in the cool night breeze. You didn’t even think about tugging off your warm jacket to place on her shoulders.
You’d rather be cold than your little sister no matter how much you fought with each other, the Y/L/N siblings had each other’s backs no matter what.
“Thanks.” Harper murmured, leaning closer, “So do I meet Reggie?”
Your eyes widened slightly at her subtle goading to a part of your life was cinematic. It was a piece of you that very few people knew about, only your parents and Harper. Like most of the women in your paternal lineage, you carried the ability to foresee events in the future. A clairvoyant.
“Harper!” You scolded the young teenager who blatantly was just over-excited to see the band she’d been talking about constantly.
Harper’s cheeks turned a cherry blossom pink under the crappy lighting from the marquee sign. Even in the light, you noticed the changes in her face as she matured into a young woman, her cheeks while still full didn’t have that baby cheek look now. You saw a stubborn zit that you could see under the makeup that didn’t entirely match her skin tone. It caused an ache in your heart to know that soon she’d have the experience of heartbreak.
“Sorry!”
“You told me these guys are my age. Need I remind you that you are thirteen? If anyone older than thirteen makes an advance I’ll put my softball skills to the test.” You sternly informed the shorter girl with the pout that screamed rebellion, “Just be a kid Harps.”
“Like you said Y/N, I’m thirteen. I’m not a kid anymore.” Harper dropped the attitude to adopt a more mature soft tone. You could see the tinge of sadness in her eyes at losing the part of life where it was easy.
“I know. I can wish you’ll stay that annoying little kindergartener that stole my clothing.” You chuckled, “You’ll always be the Stephanie to my DJ.”
The two Y/L/N siblings momentarily glanced around before hugging as quickly as possible, they still had reputations to uphold. Had you been actually paying attention, you and Harper would have noticed the commotion from the people behind you.
As you and Harper had the sweet moment, the very band performing had raced out the alley into the street. What brought you back to the surroundings was the pizza boy delivering the pizza box to you.
“Wait, we ordered a small!” You exclaimed finding the boy holding an extra-large pizza. You only received a shrug in response with the right change given back.
Two things happened with this food mistake, you didn’t have to pay more than what you actually ordered, and you still got the larger pizza. However, the Orpheum didn’t allow outside food, meaning you’d have to force-feed yourself all the pizza or trash more than half.
“We could shar-” Harper was cut off as a blinding white light became your focal point. Harper knew what was happening by the specific groan coming from your lips.
A nauseating scent of cheap meat, gas and chemicals flooded your sense of smell in the dingy alleyway. It was nighttime with a few people in the general vicinity with a dilapidated table and mismatched chairs on the walls’ edge. A poorly made sign with Sam & Ella’s and going by the vendor selling the hot dogs the name fit. Sam & Ella sounded like salmonella.
From a distance, you couldn’t quite hear the conversation between three male teens, but you had a bad feeling. They all migrated to a ratty couch that had been better days, a rat wouldn’t even crawl on it you swore.
The first boy had slicked back hair with rosy cheeks you dubbed innocent and cute that juxtapositioned his rocker attire. He had polished black leather shoes, pleather if his choice of food was an indication, a leather jacket and a red plaid shirt around his waist. His attention focused on the two guys beside him. In the middle, the boy had the blue hood of his sweater pulled over his messy brown hair as if hiding. Nothing stood out about him, and it seemed like that was intentional. On the other side, the last one was the tallest with his blonde hair hidden by the backwards black hat. A distressed dark grey jean jacket open to proudly display his pink hoodie. Each one wearing black pants and adorning rings.
“This is awesome, you guys. We’re playing the Orpheum!” The middle boy joyfully spoke head in the clouds instead of the questionable surroundings. He arguably had the loveliest smile you had ever seen, and his friends had nice smiles at that as well.
Yet even if this hadn’t taken place, however, it still felt like you were intruding on something incredibly private, “Why am I being shown this?”
Your question went unsurprisingly unanswered.
“I can’t even count how many bands have played here! And then ended up being huge!” He happily sunk into the back of the couch, thinking of all the bands he had CDs to in his room, “We’re gonna be legends!”
“Oh.” You breathed as you caught a whiff from the boys that quickly gave you the understanding of why you saw this. You could only smell what you had dubbed as death, the scent unchanging from the first time you’d encountered it.
The death stench accompanied a clairvoyant vision if the object of your vision was sick or about to die. The first time you encountered, it was a vision of two cars colliding, the sound of shattering glass and crunching metal, the scent of burning flesh overpowering the milder stench. The next morning school was cancelled after a teacher died in a car accident on the way to work.
“Eat up, boys. ’Cause after tonight, everything changes.” The only vocal one continued with his two friends silently listening. The trio toasted their food together.
“No!” You exclaimed as each boy took a bite. You held your breath, hoping that the inevitable in the vision wouldn’t occur.
Unfortunately, it was right away the warning appeared. The blonde one the most affected, “That’s a new flavour.”
“Chill, man. Street dogs haven’t killed us yet.” The leather jacket guy proudly spoke, the least one concerned.
Even the guy in the middle was concerned but ultimately continued eating.
“Stop it!” You shouted, but it was no use. As with every vision, you had the potential to stop it from coming true, but while in the vision, you couldn’t interact with the people or surrounding. No matter how much you wanted to slam the food out of their hands.
But one thing sends shivers down your spine. The one in the middle made direct eye contact with you. Something that had never happened before nor to any previous clairvoyants. He kept eye contact as he slowly grew sicker and sicker.
The three boys had no chance as the ambulance rushed to the alleyway to save them. The paramedics weren’t as quick as the vendors who’d already packed and fled to protect their own hides.
You watched as the paramedics did everything in their power to save the young teenagers with everything possible. Just like Luke sang in their last song, the boys felt the darker version of an electric hammer to the heart. The clocks freezing in place as they each took their last breathe in the oddest of deaths. You saw the blonde guy die painfully first before followed by the formerly hooded one, the terrified cries of the last one haunting your phantom ears.
How did three healthy teenagers die on the same night of the exact nature within minutes of each other without one surviving? Maybe it had something to do with the hot dogs chilling in the liquid that was a cesspool of bacteria compounded with tained condiments from battery acid.
You roughly came out of the vision shaking and pale-faced frantically scanning the surroundings. Harper had a grip on the extra large pizza box while the other tightly held yours to ground you in the present.
“Are you okay?” Harper softly questioned with the panic hidden inside her body. Harper knew that this vision had been one of the bad ones. The haunted look in your eyes hinting towards death in the near future.
“We need to go.” You frantically replied, grabbing the pizza that would hopefully have a hand in saving three hopeful teens.
Your gym teacher would be proud of the distance diminished and speed you kept towards the area that would further shatter you. Foreseeing death and sometimes unable to stop it always had a nasty impact on you.
“Where are we going?” Harper yelled, “We’ll miss the doors opening!”
“We’ll miss them if we don’t hurry up!” You shouted back at the disgruntled little sister but at the moment that didn’t matter.
What mattered was three hungry teenagers about to gorge themselves on death dogs if you didn’t make it in time. It appeared for the first time you’d actually manage to stop the deaths, unlike the previous three times.
“-tonight. Everything changes.” The chill-inducing rasp helped navigate you to the disgusting couch. Your cold hand slammed the hotdog from the blonde’s hand, the shocked reaction halting the other two.
“Don’t...eat...it.” You heaved bending over at the waist to catch your breath. Wheezing sounded from your little sister as the running and seeing her favourite band up close settled.
“Excuse me! I paid for that hotdog!”
“You’d be buying yourself death literally. Your dreams of playing the Orpheum would be extinct.” You sighed, chugging the water from the pocket of Harper’s backpack for a few seconds before the owner took it back.
“Okay, look I don’t know how you found us but-”
“You don’t have to believe me ’cause I sure as hell wouldn’t have but don’t jeopardize your dreams. Look my little sister wanted to see your show so I brought her and we ordered a pizza. They fucked up the order by giving us an extra-large pizza. We’ll barely eat a quarter of it, and the venue is strict on the rules.” You rambled using tour hands to elaborate the story before Harper roughly elbowed your ribs, “Ow!”
“Oops.” Harper faked a sugar-sweet smile for your benefit as the interaction with the three musicians slowly dove into embarrassment.
“-sorry. You’d be doing us a favour by not wasting our money and food. What do you say?” You hesitantly asked the trio who didn’t speak vocally; their eyes meeting in a silent conversation.
Reggie sighed as he begrudgingly dropped his hotdog in the bin near the couch, “Pizza outranks street dogs even if the dogs are heaven and to die for.”
“Literally.” You grumbled forcefully pushing the obscenely large pizza box into the middle one’s stomach, “I’m Y/N, this is my little sister Harper.”
“Hi.” Harper shyly waved with cheeks turning a dust pink concealed by the dark of the alleyway. The boys’ lips all quirked at the sudden contrast from the confident sister slamming her elbow in you to the bashful teen.
“I’m Luke. This is Reggie and Alex.” The hooded one, Luke, introduced his bandmates as best he could with his hands occupied by the pizza box.
Without the threat of death by the hot dog, you actually took the time to look at Luke with appraising eyes. His eyes were like oceans of blues, greens and even a brown that both exhilarated you; the desire of studying them not surprising. His smile outshone the sun on the hottest day in August.
“Nice to meet you.” You informed the trio with a beaming smile that matched your starstruck little sister. The interaction gave you the opportunity for immense and untiring future teasing on the teen that daydreamed of the bassist.
You had to admit the trio were incredibly attractive.
“Come back to the dressing room. We can eat there out of the cold.” Alex courteously invited the two formerly strangers. His blues sharing his pure intentions to repay you for saving their lives and offering pizza.
“Of course.” Harper nodded her head with her eyes barely meeting the ones of the boys. The shell was broken when Reggie piped up.
“That’s a really cool pin! Where’d you find it?”
Gated Community, Los Angeles, 2002
An off-tune humming filled the modestly sized home in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California with the sound of water splashing. Doing the dishes was a mindless chore that typically didn’t bother you, but the pain in your lower back protested. You’d have used the dishwasher, but the thing was perpetually breaking down. Didn’t seen essential to replace when washing dishes by hand was just as productive.
Or it was when you didn’t have the extra weight in your midsection, a symbol of your love with your husband. In fact, you would have avoided doing dishes if you hadn’t just used the last clean plate and glass at breakfast plus Luke hadn’t been home in the previous week.
Sunset Curve had gone on a press tour for the upcoming album and tour planned for next year.
“Oof.” You moaned as the little rascal once more hit your bladder, “Are you breaking electric guitars in there?”
“Not a soccer player?”
“With you as their father? Not likely.” You snorted as the sudden appearance of Luke became clear. You hadn’t been expecting him, “I missed you. We missed you.”
As had it since you first told him Luke’s warm hand came to rest on the front of your swollen belly. In a short month, you’d be cradling the newest member of the Patterson family with Luke singing the lullaby he solely made for baby P.
“Still haven’t given in?” The lead guitarist teased you with a beaming smile splitting his face, “Go sit down. I’ll finish the dishes.”
You didn’t need to be asked twice.
“I’m not abusing my clairvoyance to foresee our child’s gender, name and appearance.” You pointed one finger in his direction, “I refused Bobby’s pleading to see which models he would bed. The only time I did something like that was to reassure Alex that he would fall in love with a lovely guy.”
Luke’s heart burst with sheer adoration at how easily you had sunk into the friendship with the band after that one night. A night that had given birth to a friendship that slowly evolved into a romance and marriage. To this day, the group got together as much as possible.
“I love you.” Luke chuckled, “Even-”
“-if I came into your life like a completely crazy person?”
“We’re all a little crazy.”
Your house surely would be when a little tornado with Luke’s energy took over the home you’d made with Luke. The very home you would have more children and grow old together until soon you held your grandkids on your laps.

Category: Mild Romantic Fluff, Comedy
Fandom: My Hero Academia
Characters: Fuyumi Todoroki, Keigo Takami
“Ahh, I shouldn’t be doing this,” Fuyumi scolded herself as she stood in line at a fried chicken joint, patting her cheek and pouting at her weakness. She’d only meant to run to the office supply store to grab more red pens, but the scent of deep-fried chicken tenders had simply been too strong for her hungry tummy to ignore. She’d yielded to its insistent yowls and cramping tantrum, trudging into the small diner with a heavy heart and salivating mouth. Since the new year, she’d vowed to eat healthier, but it seemed that her stomach still clung stubbornly to unhealthy morsels. A cheat day or two isn’t terrible, right? she tried to convince herself as she walked up to the counter.
She was still trying to persuade herself that she wasn’t committing some kind of cardinal sin when the employee handed her a basket of hand-breaded, crispy tenders and golden-brown crinkle-cut fries. Despite her wrestle with guilt, her mouth flooded with saliva at the promise of the salty meal to come. Slurping at her soda as if she could drown her sorrows with it, Fuyumi drizzled ketchup across the fried foods before headed to a table in the corner. As she weaved around the young teenagers and families packing the joint, she kept her basket tucked against her chest to avoid spilling it.
That ended up backfiring, however, when someone cut in front of her and she slammed right into their red-winged back.
Fuyumi released an unflattering sound when the basket flipped up, painting the bust of her skirt in bright red ketchup as the chicken tenders and fries smooshed against her body. Worse, she gripped her soda on reflex, popping off the lid and sending fizzy soda and ice cascading down her hands and to the floor. In her shock, she lost her grip on the basket, and it clattered to the floor. She couldn’t even lament the cosmic joke that was foiled lunch. She just stood there, blinking rapidly with her mouth open, as the stranger whirled on his heels.
“I’m so sorry!” he cried, crimson wings flapping anxiously and ruffling the napkins sitting on the table nearby with their winds. “Ugh, I tell the owner all the time that they need to upsize, I’m always bungling around in her trying not to knock over things,” he groaned while grabbing a fistful of napkins from the nearby container. He blushed a little and gestured to her chest with a meek, “May I, miss?”
“O-oh!” she stammered, his question bringing her out of her stupor. She pulled at the hem of her shirt, stretching the fabric so the man could lean in to carefully scrape the thick globs of ketchup away. His wind-tossed tufts of blond hair bounced with each coordinated movement, and his golden eyes flickered up every so often to make sure that she was comfortable. After her frazzled neurons regained their function to synapse, she let out another gasp when she realized just who was wiping ketchup off her clothes.
“Y-You’re Hawks!”
“The one and only,” he winked and straightened, tossing the bunched-up, soiled napkins into a nearby garbage can. “I would say ‘pleasure to make your acquaintance,’ but I’m sure you’re not jazzed about me ruining your shirt.”
Eyes fluttering, Fuyumi glanced down. Her nice button-up, ruffled white blouse was now blotched with orange-pink stains and smears. She hurriedly looked up, flapping her hands dismissively.
“No, no! It’s my fault for running into you! I should have been more careful!”
“Nonsense,” Hawks insisted, then looked down to the remains of her chicken tenders and fries scattered across the red-and-white tiled floor. “It appears I’ve also ruined your lunch,” he chuckled, looking up at her with gleaming eyes. “We could sit here and argue about who’s fault this travesty is all day, but regardless, I won’t be satisfied until you let me buy you a replacement meal.”
Fuyumi flushed darkly and began to refuse, but the creep of Hawks’ eyebrow up his forehead silenced her. She swallowed her words and nodded meekly, prompting the hero to smile. Dizzily, she fancied that he had a rather nice smile, bright and warm and charming. She was floating on air after the whirlwind encounter, so she offered no resistance as Hawks led her to his booth by a hand on the small of her back. She sank into the pleather seat, slumping into its squeaky embrace, and pinched her thigh to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. Instead of the gloom of her bedroom, when she opened her eyes she was greeted with the sight of Hawks sliding into the booth and placing a fresh basket of chicken tenders in front of her.
“Thank you. This is really too much,” she said shyly, squirming and wringing her hands in her lap. With how much her belly was twisting, she doubted she could even manage two bits of the tenders now. Completely unfazed, Hawks plucked a chicken tender from his own basket and waved it around emphatically.
“Please, it’s the least I can do for causing you the trouble of having to go to the dry cleaners,” he smiled. “I insist.” Not wishing to be rude, Fuyumi took a French fry and nibbled half-heartedly on it, giving Hawks a bashful smile. “What’s your name, miss?”
“Fuyumi Todoroki. You work with my father, Endeavor.”
“No kidding?” he said, eyebrows shooting up his forehead as he continued to wave the chicken tender around like a baton. “You must take after your mother because a woman as pretty as you sure couldn’t have come from a brute like him.” Fuyumi’s face flushed the color of the ketchup that had just stained her shirt, and Hawks only smirked mischievously, crunching down on the end of the chicken tender at last. “So what do you do?” he asked, the bit of chicken tender wedged into the pouch of his cheek.
“I’m a teacher,” she answered. Though it was intimidating at first to reckon with eating lunch with the number-two pro hero, Hawks’ effortless charisma had already appeased Fuyumi’s nerves somewhat. She found that her stomach had settled so she could actually enjoy the meal he’d graciously bought her. “I teach elementary school not far from here,” she continued as she munched on her chicken. “I didn’t inherit a powerful Quirk, so I decided that instilling knowledge in the next generation was the best way I could serve my community. Besides, I love children.”
“Hehe, yeah, the little rascals are adorable,” Hawks hummed, leaning a cheek in his hand as he casually tossed a chicken tender up, let it land in the basket, picked it up, and repeated it. Fuyumi watched him play with his food with slowly pinching eyebrows; she thought at first that he wasn’t even aware of it, yet his eyes glittered and looked down at his food every few seconds, implying otherwise. She jumped when he suddenly snatched it in mid-air and shoved almost the entire thing in his mouth. “So are you the oldest?” he asked around the large tender crammed in his cheeks.
“Erm… yes,” Fuyumi said, really not sure what to think about Hawks’ odd behavior. “I have a younger brother in college, and then you must know Shoto, who attends U.A.” She tried not to shudder as Hawks chewed and swallowed the chicken tender, making a loud gulping noise. When he looked down at the basket, he picked up a French fry and then inexplicably tossed it at the window. It collided with the glass with a loud thunk, and Hawks cooed in delight, feathers ruffling. Fuyumi hid her chuckle behind her hand, though her amusement showed in the scrunch of her eyebrows. Hawks was completely oblivious to her, bobbing his head a little as he tossed another fry at the window.
He’s a grown man! Is he really enjoying playing with his food? It was so impossibly ridiculous. Fuyumi scolded her students at lunch all the time for playing with their food, yet here was a sophisticated twenty-something pro hero chucking French fries around! Though she should be disgusted, Fuyumi found it oddly endearing; his golden eyes sparkled like topazes as delight filled them to the brim, and a childlike smile adorned his face.
When a snicker managed to sneak out from behind Fuyumi’s fingers, Hawks looked at her quizzically.
“Is something funny?”
Fuyumi debated whether or not she should say anything, but she really couldn’t think of a good excuse for laughing. Besides, she was madly curious.
“Hawks, um… Do you realize that you play with your food?”
The hero blinked at her, then looked down at the French fries and crumbs littering the table. A pink haze blossomed on his cheeks, prompting him to wrap his hands around his face and look at Fuyumi in complete embarrassment. His wings drew close around his body as if to shield him from her inquisition, but he looked so cute that Fuyumi couldn’t help but let out another light-hearted chuckle. “Don’t be embarrassed! I’m only curious, that’s all.”
“It’s my Quirk,” he admitted, parting his fingers so he could mutter but still hiding his blush from her. “I’ve got bird tendencies, and one of those is… playing with my food. I don’t even realize I’m doing it. Sorry, I must have looked like such a kid! And here I was wanting to impress Endeavor’s pretty daughter…”
Fuyumi blushed at his second mindless flirt but fought past her bashfulness to reach out and pat his arm encouragingly.
“Don’t worry! As I said, I was only curious. To be honest… It’s kind of adorable.” When Hawks looked at her owlishly, she flushed darker and flapped her hands wildly. “I-I’m sorry! That just kind of slipped out. You probably don’t take well to being called something like that; I didn’t mean to insult you, I just— oh my, I can’t believe I just called the number-two hero adorable!” It was her turn to cover her face; she buried it in her hands, wincing at the heat rolling off her flushed skin in waves. Though part of her didn’t want to look at him but rather wanted to melt through the pleather seat, she couldn’t bear not knowing Hawks’ reaction either. Meekly, she parted her fingers to peer worriedly at him.
Hawks’ expression could only be described as “a kid in a candy store.”
“You think I’m adorable, Fuyumi?” he grinned. His wings flapped behind him, feathers vibrating to try to channel the sheer elation welling up in his body. Fuyumi slowly lowered her hands, almost confused by his happiness. He continued to beam at her as he explained, “Everyone always teases me about my bird traits. Nobody understands how hard it is having DNA that’s basically part avian… So it’s really reassuring to hear you call me that!” He tipped his head slightly, scrunching up his eyes as he smiled so hard it was blinding. A warm, fuzzy feeling bubbled up within Fuyumi, making her return his smile.
“Oh, well… I’m glad you feel that way.”
“Hehe, adorable,” he cooed, wiggling his shoulders in satisfaction. Fuyumi giggled again; he really was quite a childish man, but she simply couldn’t help but be endeared by his antics.
Little chirps and tweets of delight bubbled from Hawks mouth as he polished off his chicken tenders and fries. He even finished off some of Fuyumi’s meal that she couldn’t finish. As he was licking the oil and crumbs from his fingers, Fuyumi bowed her head respectfully.
“Thank you for treating me.”
“Of course! My pleasure,” he quipped, popping a finger out of his mouth. He walked out the door with her, despite her embarrassment that someone would see them together. He slipped his hands into his pockets as they lingered on the sidewalk outside of the diner. Fuyumi stood shyly in front of him, clasping her hands while slowly swaying from side to side. “I enjoyed meeting you, Fuyumi. Really,” he said, giving her a serious look that made her heart thrum in her chest. “Maybe this is too forward of me, but perhaps we’ll see each other again sometime?”
Reeling, it took Fuyumi a moment to process before she quickly sputtered, “Yes! I would like that very much.” Her face continued to redden as he gazed at her with lidded eyes, embers burning in the golden seams of his irises. “Hawks—”
“Keigo. Call me Keigo,” he said softly. Fuyumi let out a little gasp, her cheeks growing even warmer. It was an honor to be trusted with his true name, one she wouldn’t take lightly.
“Keigo,” she repeated, enjoying the way it rolled over her tongue. “Keigo, I look forward to when we meet again.”
Ever the devilish flirt, he licked his teeth and tossed her a wink.
“Until next time, then, Fuyumi Todoroki,” he said before diving in to kiss her on the cheek. Before she could even process the brush of his lips over her blushing skin, he was gone, flying into the air in a flurry of crimson feathers. She reached up to cup her cheek as she whirled on her heel, watching him bank around the corner and disappear from sight. The titillation of her nerves was the only proof it had even happened, bringing a giddy smile to her face. She wondered how close she would get to know Keigo and his bird-isms in the coming days…

hi imane this is super general but do u have any recommendations for learning how to cook? like good recipe websites or any general advice? I always enjoy seeing u post about ur cooking!!
hi angel actually i think a good place to start - but from way older videos than the current releases - is pro home cooks, it used to be known as brothers green eat and they basically had these cooking hacks college dorm students or people who didn’t know how to cook certain things or associate flavours which I found insightful. here’s one of their videos where one of them talks about common mistakes made by beginner cooks and how to fix them. generally I think you can learn a lot from watching cooking videos from chef john or laura vitale who explain why they do certain things a certain way, which I think is key to learn how to cook properly, or even domestic geek (i’m not a fan of her recipes but they’re very straightforward and beginner-friendly). basics with babish may not be super basic but again he walks through every step of the recipe and drop some culinary knowledge 101 throughout the process
now my dishes usually end up being good but the process is messy lmao here are some of my very super general advice:
learn the basics of proper knife skills but don’t overdo it, learn just enough to protect ur fingers from an incidental cut and take your time when you chop food
do not cook the garlic before the onion, garlic cooks faster and will end up burnt
onion, ginger and green onion are delicious together
don’t do a lot of things at the same time, better to take your time in the beginning and do one dish at a time rather than run from one kitchen emergency to the other
it’s all about trials and errors but u shouldn’t let it discourage you!
do not let anything unattended ever. sometimes I hear people like “oh it got burnt” and I ask them why come and they’re like well I sat on my couch to chill for a bit and ended up scrolling on my phone too long... don’t be that fool
if the pasta says it needs to be cooked for 8 minutes, set a timer. i am a believer of precision for certain things and technology helps u keep track of things so might as well use the timer app for it
grilled veggies are incredibly easy to make and super tasty, all u need is: vegetable, salt, pepper, dried herbs, garlic, olive oil, and an oven
don’t overcrowd the pan and try to upsize the pan rather than downsize when you’re in doubt
always salt your pasta water, as chef john says it should taste like the ocean
if you’re scared about time management, prep all your ingredients in advance by chopping what needs to be chopped and aligning all spices and condiments that need to be used so that everything is on hand. this might result in you having a lot of time between steps but it’s much better than the opposite, especially if you’re a beginner cook. tbh I still do that a lot, like i’ll leave a few things to do later or multitask with another dish but if I can I will prep as much as possible
when in doubt, go to youtube and just search “how to + keyword”, like how to cut onions, how to preserve veggies in the fridge, how to sear a steak, and so on, every answer is on youtube in short videos!
hope this helps a lil :-) good luck and ty for your message!

What Should I look For In An Area When Moving House?
Essential Guide For Moving House?
So your moving house, maybe from rented accommodation onto the first rung of the property ladder? Or you are a seasoned mortgage owner and are looking for the next homestead? Or it could be your moving house to upsize or downsize? Whatever your reason for moving, what you really need to consider first is what areas you are interested in moving to.
Maybe your current rental accommodation has been in an area that never really suited you, maybe your flat of choice was actually a choice made for you due to financial constraints, but now you are in a position to venture onwards and upwards. Or possibly it could be the opposite, you are moving house because your area is now pricing itself out of your comfort zone and so you’re planning to move slightly farther away. Not far enough not to enjoy the perks of the area but just far enough away to enable you not to be restricted by the ever-growing costs of living there!
We all know that buying/moving house can be exciting but it’s also very nerve-wracking. It’s a big decision and there is so much to think about – first time buyer or not! Buying a property is also a massive investment, so it’s important you feel confident and happy with the area you intend to move to. Preparing, researching and asking lots of questions will enable you to make the correct informed choice.
House viewings – take your time, ask lots of questions and don’t go alone!
Make sure you do this more than once. A few visits are the norm. Potential buyers nowadays want to view their potential new home in the daytime, evening and at the weekend, especially if it’s located in a busy area of town. Don’t worry that you’re being an inconvenience to the sellers, most if not all sellers will (or should) expect this nowadays.
Remember you are buying a property – so this is a BIG deal – don’t feel uncomfortable asking the seller lots of questions or spending time thoroughly inspecting each room. Remember the purpose is for you to be able to make an informed decision about whether to proceed with the purchase or not. Ask about the neighbours. If the property is near the main road ask about the noise levels at night. If the home is near late nights shops or any late-night venues ask about their opening hours/closing times etc, and if there have been any issues with these venues in the past. Most vendors will be truthful as they will know that if you are asking these questions of the seller, then you will more than likely be doing other research too. Afterwards, let them know you are planning to explore the neighbourhood to find out what amenities are nearby. They will more than likely give you more information on the surrounding area and add to your bank of information on the area you are considering moving to.
If you’re buying as a part of a couple/family then chances are you will be accompanied on any viewings, scouting of the area and general fact-finding mission for a potential area for relocating. However, if this is a sole purchase/venture then it’s a good idea to bring a friend. It’s safer to attend a viewing with a partner or friend and it’s also easier to identify and/or raise any issues with the property with the seller when you have a supportive person by your side.
The local amenities – have this area got what I need?
Ensuring your home is close to local amenities, good schools, and public transport links etc will make you and your family’s day-to-day life much easier. No frantic rush in the morning to make time for a long commute to the school or/and the workplace makes all the difference to everyone’s mood! It’s also a good selling point for the property in the future, as what attracts you is bound to attract other buyers too!
If you have young children and/or pets you may want to be near the local park for long walks and fun in the summer. School-age children will possibly want to be close to a library or their after school clubs. If you have teenagers they may consider good sporting facilities nearby, a gym, cinema etc as their priorities. Keep all this in mind when moving house as these are the very simple, yet very important, factors that bring ease and happiness to everyday family life.
Be honest and pragmatic about things…..
Even if you are bowled over with the house, it’s crucial that you take a step back and look at the surroundings and area where the house is located. The area where you choose to live will make such an impact on your life, possibly an even bigger impact than the bricks and mortar of the house. When evaluating if this home could well be your next happy homestead please remember to list any/all negatives and positives and weigh them up and consider what is right for you.
We all require different ‘boxes’ to be ticked in life to be happy. However, you also don’t want to get hung up on minor things like somebody’s un-mowed lawn further along the street, or a barking dog who just happens to be out walking past with its owner when you are viewing. These are neighbour/ close living issues that are part of everyday life, so you have to be able to separate real problematic issues from normal day-to-day living.
Neighbouring houses with imposing structures, or with possible planning permission to extend….?
While it’s natural for building work/extensions to be made to people’s homes over the years, we are all aware of neighbouring feuds involving intrusive extensions/noisy builders for months on end which can negatively affect neighbours, and in turn blight neighbour relationships. This can be because of many issues, possibly an extension is blocking natural light to a neighbouring house, or indeed in some cases even access their home.
These issues in turn cause animosity/ bad feeling/ arguments and very often litigation, court cases and very expensive court fees! So it’s a good idea to also look around the neighbouring houses – the back gardens and courts. Get a feel for what, if any, building work is going on or has been completed recently. You can also ask the local council offices with regards to what is allowed and not allowed in your area with regards to extensions/planning permission etc. It’s better to be forewarned of any possible building work that a close neighbour has planned. Our Courts and Planning/Land Laws are there to protect all house owners as much as possible, but to save yourself any possible future anguish and expense do your homework first!
What can we do in the area for fun?
Well for children/family time you may well want to check out any Local Events in your area via local websites in your area and sign up for updates. Check out the local library, or the local newsagents notice board! Coffee shops etc will also usually advertise local events such as Festivals, Fun Days at the Local Park, Community Jumble Sales etc. For local swimming activities/ summer clubs etc, again the local libraries/schools will be able to give you information.
For the older members of the family, you will want to know where the nearest restaurant is, the local bar/wine bar, or the most popular coffee shop. Nightlife and late-night entertainment – is this more than a short taxi ride away? Is that important to you? Remember what is important to you/ your family might not be what others would find important however this is about you and your family. So talk/discuss all aspects of your move with everyone who is involved. Make sure you are all on the same page. This way the ‘big move’ will much be less stressful for all!
Ok – so I’ve made my decision, what do I do next?

A Top 10 List of Remodeling Tips
Having simply finished a remodeling in Albury, on behalf of a customer who lived remotely, so required someone to handle the procedure for them. I believed it was a great time to show and pass on some pointers for all you would-be renovators that want to tackle it yourself.
1. Start with the end in mind
What I imply is in your renovating to sell vs remodeling to put an occupant into the residential or commercial property at a higher rent than before vs renovating on your own to live in, the budget plan, choice of components and fittings and the quantity of work you'll do will vary.
In the event where you're renovating for yourself to reside in you'll likely do a lot more than either of the 2 other options, just since you intend to live there and derive the take advantage of the money invested for an amount of time.
Likewise, when renovating for sale or perhaps for rental purposes, you need to bear in mind constantly, am I including more in viewed worth than real cost? Am I getting a return on my cash? Understanding where to fix a limit is the secret.
2. Have a spending plan
Do not simply start remodeling without any spending plan in mind. You need to have an idea of how much whatever is going to cost and track your expenditure through the remodeling to ensure you do not run out of cash.
It might be OK to leave a renovation unfinished if you're living there (albeit not desirable) however if you're remodeling for sale or to put a renter in, you need to end up to be able to sell/rent the home out. Lacking cash halfway through doing the kitchen area or bathroom is a sure-fire way to land yourself in difficulty.
3. How are you funding the restoration?
If you have the money on hand that's terrific, not a lot of us do however if you do it's the most convenient and easiest method to fund any restoration, you understand how much you have and can spend for materials and labor as needed.
If you're utilizing obtained funds, ensure you comprehend the requirements for those funds to be released, if it's a loan versus equity it might be as easy as the funds entering into an offset account until you require them. If it is a devoted restoration loan you might need to provide or pay bills and to be reviewed by the bank prior to earning money. There are a great deal of different ways this can be work and you need to make sure you comprehend what is required to access the funds.
4. Quotes
If the task is a little job needing not a lot of time from a handyman, if they have to come to the website, quote it then come back and do the task you could end up paying more. Often for these smaller sized tasks the finest course of action is to discover a trusted tradesman in your local area and simply book the work in to be done.
5. Tiling in old homes
Practically without exception in older houses the walls and/or floorings (specifically if wood) are hardly ever square or straight. In the kitchen for instance using larger format tiles for the splash back can assist hide these sins.
If a brand-new kitchen area is installed it will be set up level and if the window is out by 10mm one end to the other, if you use 100mm subway tiles for a splash back, you will see. Nevertheless, if you upsize to a contemporary 300mm x 400mm splash back tile you will not notice the 10mm the old window is out of square (well most of us will not).
Old floors are frequently out. The renovation I just completed for a customer, the flooring in the cooking area was out by 67mm throughout the length of a 4m kitchen area. We were able to deal with this by tailoring the kicker height along the kitchen however it pays to be aware of these items and prepare for them.
6. Change vs Repair work
When preparing a remodeling especially one that includes the bathroom and kitchen one of the first things you should do is assess the cabinetry and tiles. Are they simply dated or are they really in a bad state of repair? You might have the ability to reface the cabinetry or use a tile paint over the tiles if they remain in good order. This could save you thousands in the expense of your remodeling.
7. Electrical Work
It can be a good concept, particularly on older homes to have an electrical contractor come and look at the existing board. Electrical legislation is altering all the time and depending when the last electrical work was done and what you need done a complete board upgrade to bring it up to code could be needed. This can be pricey. Legislation requiring safety switches is in location currently in some states and coming into force in others, best to inspect with a certified electrician to discover out what you require to do with compliance.
8. Plumbing Work
While all new homes are practically solely PVC plumbing nowadays if you're remodeling an old home be prepared to find some earthenware waste pipes that in some cases the plumbing will have to make up a fitting to adjust to contemporary PVC drain.
It also pays to be cautious with demolition work around old plumbing fixtures as it's extremely easy to harm earthenware pipelines and if they split and being dripping you could discover yourself in for a much bigger repair than prepared for.
9. Preparing the Work
When you have the scope of your remodeling worked out, know the spending plan and what trades are involved the next action is to arrange it. You need to think about the logical order of doing things so that you are not re-doing work or having trades damage the work of other trades.
Typically, you wish to do demolition work initially. Then any brand-new building and construction such as walls, kitchen cabinetry, flooring, etc.
It is best if you can leave completing trades like tilers, painting, and flooring till the very end. Sometimes you may be able to have the painter start somewhere else in the home if there are area's not having a fully restoration.
Constantly leave flooring to the very end, it ought to be the last thing to enter so that brand-new floor covering does not have a possibility to be harmed by trades or to get paint on it.
10. Evaluation of the Restoration
Probably the most overlooked stage of a restoration but it is similarly as essential as the rest. Collect all your actual expenditures and add them up to compare them to your budget plan. Did you stay with your budget plan? You need to understand just how much everything really cost you to have the ability to identify your return.
Do not skip this step, even if you think you know the response, or you do not need to know the answer because you know you went over. Still do it, as it will help you prepare the next one better by seeing the area's your budget discussed.

Top 10 Refurbishing Tips
Now is as a good time as any to reflect and pass on some ideas for all you prospective renovators that want to tackle home renovations yourself.
1. Start with the end in mind
What I suggest is in you're renovating to offer vs remodeling to put an occupant into the home at a higher lease than before vs refurbishing for yourself to reside in, the budget plan, option of fixtures and fittings and the amount of work you'll do will differ.
In the event where you're remodeling on your own to reside in you'll likely do a lot more than either of the two other options, merely because you plan to live there and derive the take advantage of the money invested for a period of time.
Likewise, when remodeling for sale and even for rental functions, you require to remember continuously, am I adding more in perceived worth than actual cost? Am I getting a return on my money? Knowing where to draw the line is the key.
2. Have a budget plan
Do not simply start refurbishing with no budget in mind. You require to have a concept of just how much whatever is going to cost and track your expense through the restoration to make sure you don't run out of cash.
It may be OKAY to leave a restoration unfinished if you're living there (albeit not preferable) however if you're refurbishing for sale or to put a renter in, you need to finish to be able to sell/rent the property out. Running out of cash half way through doing the kitchen area or restroom is a foolproof way to land yourself in problem.
3. How are you funding the restoration?
If you have the money on hand that's excellent, not a great deal of us do however if you do it's the easiest and easiest method to money any restoration, you know just how much you have and can pay for materials and labour as required.
If you're using borrowed funds, make certain you understand the requirements for those funds to be released, if it's a loan against equity it may be as basic as the funds entering into a balanced out account until you require them. If it's a devoted renovation loan you might need to supply or pay billings and to be reviewed by the bank prior to earning money. There are a lot of different ways this can be work and you need to make certain you comprehend what is needed to access the funds.
4. Quotes
If the job is a little task requiring not a lot of time from a tradie, if they have to come to the website, quote it then come back and do the task you could end up paying more. Typically for these smaller tasks the finest course of action is to find a reputable tradesperson in your local location and simply book the work in to be done.
5. Tiling in old homes
Almost without exception in older houses the walls and/or floors (especially if lumber) are seldom square or straight. In the kitchen area for instance using bigger format tiles for the splash back can assist hide these sins.
If a brand-new kitchen area is installed it will be installed level and if the window is out by 10mm one end to the other, if you utilize 100mm train tiles for a splashback, you'll notice. If you upsize to a modern-day 300mm x 400mm splashback tile you won't see the 10mm the old window is out of square (well many of us won't).
Old floors are frequently out. The renovation I simply finished for a client, the floor in the kitchen was out by 67mm across the length of a 4m kitchen. We had the ability to handle this by tailoring the kicker height along the kitchen but it pays to be familiar with these items and prepare for them.
6. Replace vs Repair work

Finally. Pockets.......
I mean, they've been there for a while, but I actually finally stitched them on properly instead of just having them bolted and pinned to the jacket HAHAHA
Some notes!
> The larger part of the pockets are bolted to the jacket, a combination of a desire for sturdiness, a lack of desire to sew more than I have to LMFAO, and to tie in w reoccurring design elements -- only the bottom part is stitched directly on!
> Speaking of, the black stitching is mostly decorative. I did want it to tie in w the details on the wings, like so:
I wanted to sort of mimic what I did for the tabs on the wings, but I ran out of black embroidery thread. So. Idk I kind of like what I ended up with! I may or may not update it later, but for now, I do actually like the subtlety of the silver on holo w only some black accents.
> Speaking of running out of thread. I did run out of that seafoam green thread first run, which was kind of funny when it initially happened bc I was split between two colors (that one and the lavender -- I. Ended up using both bc of this HAHA). But I found!
The reason I bought that specific color in the first place! This was a prototype bracelet for mother's day years ago, thinking of my mom's favorite colors + ocean waves, but I had to change the vision bc as you can see, the colors blended together. She got a much nicer bracelet after a revision and I (unknowingly) got a secret tool for later HAHAHA
> Also, tucked in some raw edges of the quilt that stuck out by changing the bolt placement, overall giving it a cleaner look and better fit I think actually!
Not much else to say, but I also just want to share.
The guts.................... unsure of how well this illustrates it, but, it's sort of a look behind the scenes on how the upsized bits and bolted-on pockets work? Also I cannot emphasize enough how awful this material is HAHAHAHA DON'T BE LIKE ME
#diy punk#ouhgh.... my jacket.#also experimenting w rearranging my pins but haven't gotten to a final decision there yet#tomorrow is pride for me and in my head i'm prepping as if i'm going. just in case.#so i've def like. been doubling down on my queer diys and such.#i gotta get going though i gotta play video games w my sisters 🫡#my projects

10 Great Renovation and Remodeling Tips
Having actually completed a remodelling, I thought it was a fun time to pass on some pointers for all you prospective renovators that wish to tackle it yourself.
1. Start with completion in mind
What I imply is in you're renovating to sell vs refurbishing to put an occupant into the property at a higher lease than before vs renovating on your own to live in, the budget plan, choice of components and fittings and the quantity of work you'll do will differ.
In the case where you're renovating on your own to live in you'll likely do a lot more than either of the 2 other options, merely due to the fact that you plan to live there and obtain the benefit from the money spent for an amount of time.
Likewise, when remodeling for sale or even for rental functions, you require to keep in mind continuously, am I adding more in perceived worth than actual expense? Am I getting a return on my money? Understanding where to draw the line is the key.
2. Have a budget
Don't just start refurbishing with no budget in mind. You require to have a concept of just how much everything is going to cost and track your expense through the remodelling to make sure you don't lack money.
It may be OK to leave a renovation unfinished if you're living there (albeit not preferable) nevertheless if you're renovating for sale or to put an occupant in, you require to complete to be able to sell/rent the residential or commercial property out. Running out of cash half way through doing the kitchen or bathroom is a foolproof method to land yourself in problem.
3. How are you paying for the renovation?
If you have the cash on hand that's great, not a great deal of us do but if you do it's the simplest and most basic way to fund any remodelling, you understand just how much you have and can pay for products and labour as required.
If you're utilizing borrowed funds, make certain you comprehend the requirements for those funds to be launched, if it's a loan against equity it might be as easy as the funds going into a balanced out account up until you need them. If it's a dedicated renovation loan you might require to supply or pay billings and to be examined by the bank prior to earning money. There are a great deal of different methods this can be work and you require to make certain you understand what is needed to access the funds.
4. Quotes
If the job is a little job requiring not a lot of time from a tradie, if they have to come to the website, quote it then come back and do the task you might end up paying more. Typically for these smaller tasks the best course of action is to find a respectable tradesman in your regional location and simply book the work in to be done.
5. Tiling in old houses
Practically without exception in older houses the walls and/or floorings (especially if wood) are hardly ever square or straight. In the cooking area for example using larger format tiles for the splash back can assist hide these sins.
If a brand-new kitchen area is installed it will be installed level and if the window is out by 10mm one end to the other, if you use 100mm train tiles for a splashback, you'll observe. If you upsize to a contemporary 300mm x 400mm splashback tile you won't observe the 10mm the old window is out of square (well many of us will not).
Old floors are frequently out. The restoration I simply finished for a client, the flooring in the kitchen was out by 67mm throughout the length of a 4m kitchen. We were able to deal with this by tailoring the kicker height along the kitchen area however it pays to be familiar with these products and prepare for them.
6. Replace vs Repair work
When preparing a restoration especially one that consists of the kitchen and bathroom among the first things you must do is examine the kitchen cabinetry and tiles. Are they just dated or are they actually in a bad state of repair? You may have the ability to reface the cabinets or use a tile paint over the tiles if they remain in good order. This might save you thousands in the expense of your remodelling.
7. Electrical Work
It can be a great idea, particularly on older homes to have actually an electrical contractor come and take a look at the existing board. Electrical legislation is changing all the time and depending when the last electrical work was done and what you need done a complete board upgrade to bring it up to code might be required. This can be pricey. Legislation needing security switches is in place currently in some states and coming into force in others, best to examine with a certified electrical expert to find out what you require to do with compliance.
8. Pipe Work
While all brand-new houses are practically exclusively PVC pipes nowadays if you're refurbishing an old house be prepared to find some earthenware drain that in many cases the plumber will have to comprise a fitting to get used to modern PVC drain.
It also pays to be careful with demolition work around old pipes fixtures as it's very easy to damage earthenware pipes and if they crack and being leaking you might find yourself in for a much bigger repair work than anticipated.
9. Planning the Work
Once you have the scope of your restoration exercised, understand the spending plan and what trades are included the next action is to arrange it. You need to consider the rational order of doing things so that you're not re-doing work or having trades harm the work of other trades.
Typically you wish to do demolition work initially, then any new building and construction, i.e. walls, cabinets etc although some trades like plumbing professionals and electrical contractors will likely have numerous sees to the job for rough in work when it's suitable, previous to sheeting brand-new work and to prepare pipes points for cabinets and so on.
It's finest if you can leave finishing trades like tilers, painting and flooring till the very end. Sometimes you may be able to have the painter start elsewhere in the home if there are location's not having a fully remodelling.
Constantly leave floor covering to the very end, it needs to be the last thing to enter so that new floor covering doesn't have a possibility to be damaged by trades or to get paint on it.
10. Review the Restoration
Probably the most ignored stage of a renovation however it's equally as important as the rest. Look at all your actual expenditures and add them up to compare them to your budget plan. Did you adhere to your budget plan? You need to understand just how much whatever really cost you in order to have the ability to determine your return.
Don't avoid this step, even if you believe you understand the answer, or you do not wish to know the response since you understand you reviewed. Still do it, as it will assist you prepare the next one better by seeing the location's your budget plan discussed.

What does a Toronto real estate agent do
If you are planning to buy or sell a home, you might ask yourself:
Do I need a real estate agent?
What does a Toronto real estate agent do?
In order to answer those questions, first look at different positions:
I want to buy a home, why do I need a real estate agent? What does a real estate agent do for a buyer?
I want to sell my home, why do I need a listing agent? What does a real estate agent do for a seller?
I want to sell my home and buy another home, how an agent can help me? (Upsizing or Downsizing)
In this complete guide we are gonna go discuss thoroughly the above questions in different positions and how a real estate agent can help a buyer or a seller.
If you are a buyer, whether first-time buyer or an investor interested in investing in real estate and generate cash flow from your investment property, the next part is for you:
What does a real estate agent do for a buyer?
A real estate agent representing the buyer, which briefly we call it a Buyer Agent, helps his/her clients or customers, to navigate through the ups and downs of acquisitioning a home. Purchasing a home, whether you are a first time buyer, or a seasoned investor, is a big decision. A knowledgeable real estate agent can help the buyer with: 1. finding them the right fit, 2. Assessing the pros and cons of each option 3. Pointing out if there is any red flag 4. negotiating the deal, 5. Providing support till the deal closes, 6. Our agents even try to go further and not stop at the closing of the deal, but to make sure the buyers will have a smooth transition.
1.How a real estate agent can help you find the right property?
A seasoned and qualified REALTOR® should have both technical knowledge about A. the property class that you are looking for, i.e. Detached House, a Townhouse, or a Condo Apartment and B. The area that you are looking to live in.In addition to technical knowledge, a top real estate agent, has good listening skills, he/she would listen to the buyer’s needs, what are the wants and what are the requirements. For example if you are looking for a specific school boundary, or you need to have the east or west light, or you want to have a CN Tower or Lake view from your downtown condo. On top of that, a great real estate agent would EDUCATE his/her clients along the way. Analysing the real estate market trends in TOronto’s market, collecting neihgborhood’s trends, providing demographic information to the buyers and such and such.
2.How a real estate agent can help with assessing the pros and cons of each property?
One of the things that you might face is when you shortlist 2 or 3 properties and are looking to narrow down your options to The One. A real estate broker can help you by listing each proeprty’s pros and cons, based on your future usage ( i.e. you see a property that might look great at the first glance, but your kids are gonna grow up in a few years, so you might need the property to have room for expansion, a top Toronto realtor can give you ideas about the future expansion, and those hints may save you extra cost to sell in a few years and move to a bigger place, instead of doing small renos or expanding the current property)
3.Pointing out red flags of a property.
An experienced real estate agent in a vast market like Toronto can point out red flags to you while you see the properties during the showings. An average consumer buys and sell a property 5 times in their life span, but a top real estate agent could do tens of real estate transaction in just one year.
4.How a real estate agent negotiates a deal?
When it comes to purchasing a property, a top agent can negotiate not only the price, but the conditions of the deal too.Negotiating on the price starts with a CMA ( Comparative Market Analysis), which literally means the appraisal or evaluation of the property that you wanna put an offer on. By analysing the area, and comparables, your realtor will give you an idea of a fair value of the property, thus your real estate agent can protect you from overpaying for a property. Sime times a top Buyer Agent may even get the property with a Cheaper price ( a good deal) for the buyer if he sees an opening in the negotiation process with the seller’s side.In pricing a property there can be different scenarios, a property may be under listed, or over priced, or fairly priced to sell. In another Article we’d explain about the different methods of pricing. The conditions of the deal are important, conditions can vary from the closing date, vacant possession, inspections, financing, any repairs if needed, any buy-out of the rental items in the house and similar things.
5.Support until the closing
After the acceptance of the offer, an agent should get in touch with the buyer to make sure the conditions of the contract being met, such as helping the buyer with home inspection, following up with the buyer to get the financing and or mortgage approval done, and inspecting the property again before the closing date to make sure the seller is handing over the property in the same state.
6.Smooth transition
If you are new to the city, or moving to a new neighbourhood, you might wonder who are the reputable movers, what is the utility provider, how to set up your utility accounts. If you are moving to a house from a condo you might have tons of questions, how to take care of the lawn, what if the garage door opener doesn’t work and other concerns that you might have. A great real estate agent would go above and beyond, by continuing the support, even after the closing of the property.
Now that you’ve learned about services a real estate agent can provide for a buyer, it’s time to discuss the seller’s position. Next part is a complete review about what a real estate agent do for a seller:
What does a real estate agent do for a seller?
A real estate agent representing the seller, is briefly called the Listing Agent, has duties to his client ( the seller) and will navigate the process of selling a home. Selling your house can be a stressful process, and in order to manage and deal with the stress when selling your property, you can use the help of a top listing agent. A top real estate agent can help a home seller by: 1. Evaluating your home’s price and doing the CMA 2. Setting the Pricing Strategy 3. Setting the Marketing strategy 4. Preparing the home for sale 5. Setting the strategy and managing the offer presentation 6. Following up to make sure you are gonna have a smooth transition and buyer closes the purchase successfully.
1.Home Price Evaluation or appraisal
The first step to sell your home is to know how much your home is worth. If you simple are wondering “ how much my home is worth? “ you can submit your request in this page in order to get an approximate home valuation. But if you are looking to sell a property, this is what a top listing agent will do for you first. Your real estate agent Agent would evaluate your home’s price by creating a CMA report.CMA stands for Comparative Market Analysis, basically, the listing agent uses comparables, and the features, in addition to other market factors and Indexes to come up with the right price for your home.Evaluating the property based on CMA in most cases needs the listing agent to walk through your property to see the condition of your home.
Actually that’s a great opportunity for both you and your REALTOR® to walk through the home together. While you show your home to the agent, you can serve two purposes, first is that you can show all the upgrades or renovations that you’ve done and can add to or increase the value of your home. Second purpose is that you can also evaluate the listing agent that you are interviewing and decide if you want to hire or not.
2.Setting the pricing strategy ( it really matters, and is not one strategy fits all home sales)
In Toronto’s real estate market, there are various micro markets. Each neighborhood has a different behaviour when it comes to economic factors, supply, demand, and demographics. You may ask yourself if I price my home high to leave room for negotiations? Or should I low price my home to get more attention? The answer is: It depends on the micro market your property is located at. In some markets, pricing low and waiting for multiple offers can be a good strategy, whereas in some markets you have to price it at the market price. Even pricing it high can have backlashes, what if for example your home worth $800,000 but you price it high, in that case you might lose the potential buyers who are pre approved for a mortgage and can not go higher than $800,000 , if they set their limit around or below that number, you’ll lose them by pricing your house high.
3.Setting the marketing strategy
This is another important step that a great listing agent has to come up with marketing strategies that actually work for you type of property, neighbourhood and the area that you are looking to sell. A top listing agent in addition to the above, would define a picture of the potential buyer, and make sure that your property get that exposure too. ( i.e. for a two bedroom condo townhouse near downtown Toronto, a potential buyer image can be a young family, without a kid, or with one kid, professionals, aged between 30 to 40, and so on). Your listing agent should make sure to get the maximum exposure for your property. There are different marketing strategies, from open houses to online to Virtual reality, each marketing strategy has to be curated based on the audience you are targeting.
4.Preparing the home for entering the market ( make it more marketable)
In order to get the top dollar, after planning a property marketing strategy, you have to make your home presentable. It can include staging consultation, de cluttering, painting, small renovations, landscaping and curb appeal, final staging before hitting the market, professional videography, and so on. ( You can read more about it how to make your home more presentable for sale? )
5.Managing offers and offer presentation
Offers when starting to come, can contain different clauses and conditions, which a seasoned real estate agent can explain to you the pros and cons of each clause or condition, and advise which offer can be the better offer, ( the price is not always the only important thing, there might be clauses in the offer that make an offer obsolete.
6.Following up to make sure buyer closes the deal
After you as the Seller, receive an accepted and Firm Agreement of Purchase and Sale, the job is not done yet. You may think that I have sold my house, even though the agreement is firm, a prudent Listing Agent would keep continuing to advise his/her client and follow up the deal to make sure the deal closes successfully, according to the agreement. On top of that a great Listing Agent would do his best to make sure the seller’s transition to their new place happens smoothly.
If I want to sell and buy, should I sell first or buy first? What does a real estate agent do for someone who wants to sell and buy?
If you want to sell your current home and buy a new home, the services that your real estate agent will provide for you is a combination of the above two services, helping you buy and sell. However you might already be wondering which one you shall do first? That’s a great question.
Shall I buy first or sell first? Best real estate agents know that answering to that question is totally depending on the Type of the property and Where about of your current and target micro markets ( where your current home is located, and where do you want to buy in) .
To put it simply, look at the below scenarios:
You own a house in 905 area, for example, York Region, Richmondhill, and you want to down size to a condo Downtown Toronto and enjoy what the city has to offer. In your case, right now as I write this article, the level of inventory for a Detached house in Richmondhill ( Absorption rate or month of inventory) is around 5 month of inventory. And the MOI in Downtown Toronto, for a Condo apartment is 1.5 Months of inventory. That means the average house in Richmondhill will take longer to sell, than a Condo in downtown. So if you buy your condo first and try to sell your house later, you may face difficulty if you rely on the proceedings of the sale of your house to close your condo purchase. There are different levels of organizations that govern real estate and make sure that it works in ways to protect the consumer.
A summary of how real estate is organized in Canada and Toronto:
Real Estate in Canada is organized and operates in 3 different levels, CREA ( The Canadian Real Estate Association ) represents the agents in the national and international level. A REALTOR® or a real estate agent working in Ontario has to be registered with Real Estate Council of Ontario. Real estate boards, such as TREB ( Toronto’s Real Estate Board) operate at a local level. A real estate agent in Toronto would be part of TREB, and with access to TREB’s MLS®, the realtors working in Toronto, can list the properties on TREB’s Multiple Listing Service® and benefit from a high exposure.

Review: The Intense Primer Expert comes with extra enthusiasm as standard
With increasingly more manufacturers promoting full mountain bikes direct to shopper, we determined to take a look at three of the newest choices from Intense, Hen, and Sonder, to place every model’s service – and bikes – to the check. Over to James Vincent for the evaluate!
Intense Cycles is a type of manufacturers that has simply received IT, no matter IT truly is. Bursting onto the scene within the early 90s, Intense and its proprietor Jeff Steber have all the time carried out issues a bit of in a different way to the mainstream. So when information broke in the direction of the top of 2017 that Intense was going direct sale – solely within the UK, you may virtually hear the collective gasp. For a boutique firm that’s occupied a higher-end area of interest of the market, the transfer was a shock to many.
The Primer is Intense’ 130mm journey 29er path bike.
Then once more, given rising competitors from on-line direct-sale corporations, alongside with extra aggressive pricing from the larger (and arguably higher resourced) manufacturers, maybe it was solely a matter of when, not if.
However whereas there are certainly many good causes for the change, this isn’t the place to debate them. This can be a bike check in any case, and it’s one which simply obtained an entire lot extra fascinating. For 2 thousand excellent causes.
Contemplate your self briefed.
Simply over a yr in the past, an Intense Primer Expert was promoting for £5,300 in a motorcycle store. For 2018, this bike (admittedly with a few spec modifications) is promoting for a staggering £three,499. It’s additionally now shipped freed from cost straight to your door (with a torque wrench included within the field to straighten the bars), and since Intense Cycles UK solely lists what it has in inventory in its warehouse, orders are dispatched inside 24 hours of you clicking the ‘buy’ button.
For 2018, there are 5 full Primer fashions out there, beginning at £2,899 for the Basis construct, and topping out at £6,999 for the Manufacturing unit spec. The three prime builds make use of a lighter SL carbon body, which can be bought by itself for £2,299. Every Primer is out there in 4 sizes from Small via to X-Giant.
It’s an eye-popping color, however we prefer it.
The Bike
Pulling the Primer out of the field, I used to be introduced with beautiful turquoise lacquer set off with shiny neon lime graphics. It by some means manages to look concurrently stylish but nonetheless very a lot in yer face!
Sculpted out of carbon fibre, the body could be very aesthetically pleasing and strikes an ideal stability, which I hereby proclaim ‘industrially organic’. The entrance triangle is definitely widespread to Intense’s personal ACV 27.5+ bike, however the rear triangle is all Primer.
You may query the logic and extra tooling prices of such a choice, however Intense has shaved weight from the rear triangle and located room for a entrance mech on the similar time. There’s additionally a set of bottle bosses inside the primary body, and inner cable routing retains issues wanting clear and uncluttered entrance to again.
Beautiful strains on that carbon swingarm.
As we’re testing the Expert degree construct, we miss out on the chi-chi SL body. The cheaper body right here makes use of a unique carbon layup, metal hardware (as an alternative of titanium) and an alloy higher linkage, which provides about 250g of mass over the SL model.
Because the VPP patent expired a few years in the past, Intense has changed the platform with its personal JS Tuned linkage. You’ll nonetheless discover two small hyperlinks that rock the swingarm similarly, however the size and orientation of the hyperlinks have been modified to offer a extra dynamic experience that retains sensible pedalling efficiency. I rarely reached for the shock lockout.
You’ve acquired two journey choices right here. The decrease hyperlink has grease ports for upkeep duties.
Whereas Intense has spec’d what seems like a relatively fiddly Increase 148x12mm axle, as soon as you determine which option to flip it, and which bolts you have to undo, it’s truly fairly easy and safe. Lastly, there are built-in rubber body protectors on the downtube and drive aspect chainstay to fend off rock strikes and hold the noise down.
You’d be forgiven for anticipating to see a number of own-branded elements as a sacrifice for getting a full carbon body and SRAM Eagle for less than £three,300, however you’d be very improper. Suspension comes from RockShox, with a Revelation RC 140mm journey fork, and a Monarch RL out again. Revelations have all the time been a strong performer and are much more so now they share the identical 35mm chassis as the Pike.
140mm journey up entrance from the superb RockShox Revelation fork.SRAM GX 1×12 shifting.
Sadly, whereas the Monarch carried out brilliantly whereas open, there was a big delay in locking the shock out – it took a number of compressions of the again finish earlier than it engaged with a clunk.
DT Swiss is in control of wheels with the superb M1900 Spline wheelset, whereas tyres are the brand new 2.35in extensive Maxxis Forekasters – an aggressive cross-country tyre that gives minimal rolling resistance and surprisingly excessive ranges of grip.
Lastly, an aesthetic Fox Switch dropper publish holds the cozy WTB saddle up and Renthal bars offer you one thing to carry on to. It’s protected to say that no corners have been reduce in an effort to hit a worth level.
The Fox Switch dropper carried out properly.Robust DT Swiss wheels and Shimano XT brakes full the smart construct package.
The Journey
Good grief, this bike is eager. Like an excitable younger pet, it brims with enthusiasm, darting round in circles, chasing something that strikes whereas your driving mates make their approach alongside in a extra stately method. Most of the time I’d discover myself spinning alongside taking it straightforward, whereas getting this unusual vibe that the bike needs to be let off the leash. So, in fact, I oblige.
I modify up a couple of gears, stand on the pedals, and the Primer bursts ahead with scary ease. The brilliant blue machine is far happier with the change of tempo. There’s minimal drag from the Maxxis Forekasters, whereas the JS Tuned system stays taut and environment friendly beneath chain rigidity.
The Primer has a unbelievable get-up-and-go angle.
Designed to be extra supportive within the mid-stroke, there was little or no wallowing or pedal bob even when hauling exhausting out of the saddle, and in contrast to some extra fussy suspension methods, it has a large working window and I used to be capable of run anyplace from 25–30% sag with no destructive impact on efficiency.
‘JS Tuned’ isn’t only a fancy new identify – this suspension system is a drastic enchancment over the issues of the previous VPP suspension system and its tendency to really feel such as you have been pedalling inside a hammock.
No wallow right here – the JS tuned design performs to a really excessive standard.
Shortly to the highest and onto the enjoyable stuff, the Primer is not any slouch when it will get there and its enthusiasm on the climbs is matched by a nimbleness that belies the 29in wheels.
With a attain of 453mm (measurement L) and a head angle of 67.5°, it’s not at all the longest or the slackest bike I’ve ever ridden, however it doesn’t really feel brief, and it doesn’t really feel nervous or twitchy both. It feels good, and that Goldilocks vibe places the rider in command, slightly than the opposite approach spherical.
Having stated that, when you choose a bit extra size in your bikes, remember that the Primer has a comparatively tall seat tube and that limits dropper publish insertion. So the standard trick of sizing as much as achieve some attain may be out of the query (at a shade over 6ft, I personally discovered the sizing spot on).
The seat tube is a bit too tall, decreasing the choice to upsize for extra attain.
Actually although, it’s solely when issues get actually steep and technical that the bike begins to get overwhelmed and out of its depth. The 760mm Renthal bars don’t assist and a wider set would deliver again some management.
The different factor I’d take a look at altering is the entrance tyre. The Forekasters are an amazing cross-country tyre, roll shortly and supply sufficient traction out again, however I can’t assist however shake the sensation the entrance tyre is making an attempt to kill the get together.
The Primer has a great deal of zip and likes to play on the path.
Positive, the Primer is marketed as a cross-country/path bike, and never an enduro bike, however the body and suspension really feel like they’re able to a lot extra. A extra aggressive entrance tyre like a Excessive Curler II or Minion DHR II would give that bit extra traction and open issues up with out compromising the responsiveness that I really like about this bike.
One factor I wouldn’t change, regardless that the choice is there, is the rear suspension journey. As with the Intense ACV Plus bike, you’ve obtained the selection of operating 115mm or 130mm. However as the bike is so spritely and nimble at 130mm, I by no means felt the necessity to scale back the journey.
The Primer is begging for a greater entrance tyre than the Forekaster.
Aside from these minor quibbles, are there any negatives? Solely the sluggish lockout on the rear shock, and that the entrance Maxle Lite is wanting decidedly worse for put on and in peril of being unusable as a result of it’s so closely rounded off. I’d strongly advocate upgrading to the Maxle Final.
General
The Intense Primer is among the greatest pedalling, most keen and nimble path bikes I’ve ever ridden. It’s a delight to experience, urging you to go more durable and quicker than you thought potential. The massive shock is that it’s no slouch when the path factors again down both, altering course with ease and dealing with tougher trails than actually ought to be potential for a 130mm journey 29er.
Add a extra aggressive entrance tyre (and an extended journey fork in the event you’re feeling notably saucy), and the bike will probably be able to much more with out sacrificing an excessive amount of of that velocity and acceleration that’s so addictive about this bike.
With its new, extra aggressive pricing, the Primer is an interesting bike for a wider vary of riders.
