Family themed headcanon

Father forgive me the idea of baby Pikelet has grown on me like mould and now I can't let it go even with s4 happening.

It's not like she'd never wanted children. It just hadn't really been on the cards before, between the B&B, then the Dreamliner, and then - well, you know - the end of the world. Ruth had always had other priorities. Only now, she was struggling to see those priorities past the growing bump, no longer hidden under woolen jumpers and fur lined coats but instead jutting out ahead of her, announcing its presence in every room. Headwood had told her early on that she might find things harder than most women, given her age, and Ruth was sure she was still running on spite from that conversation 6 months later, as she prepared the town hall for Snowpiercer's imminent arrival.

Sleep themed headcanon

Till counts the slats under her bed again. She knows there will be thirteen, there's always thirteen but she counts them anyway, wondering if one day she'll wake up and find a luckier number. It seems quieter with the mattress above absorbing the clatter of her neighbours and the corridor doors beeping, but the rumble of the train beneath is amplified. Occasionally, she thinks, the subtrain must be passing underneath with a gentle whoosh. Mostly though, it just seems safer. Holed up, some small dark space where the pain of the world seems less oppressive. Eventually Till will sleep like this. Not for any long stretch, but better than if she was laid on top. Eventually she will wake and count the slats and sigh and put on her uniform and go and follow orders. But for now, she counts.

Home themed headcanon

The conversion didn't take long, and with the life insurance payout Ruth more than covered the cost of the extra furniture, a lick of paint, and her one extravagance - the Aga stove in the kitchen. She'd started so late in the season she almost didn't think it was worth opening until the following summer, but the empty echoes of the building followed her around like ghosts until she finally switched on the "vacancies" sign in the last week of August, and made herself a celebratory Full English on the stove.

Pain themed headcanon

Sorry to everyone reading this but we're continuing on the first theme.

Ruth woke with a start, unsure why at first as she blinked in the emergency lighting that served as a night light in her new accomodation. As she rubbed her eyes she became aware of the ache in her lower back, dulling even as she noticed it, and ebbing away slowly as the seconds ticked by. A noise startled her, until she realised it was just a snore - Melanie laid still fully clothed on the sofa, cushions and limbs dangling precariously over the edge.

Ruth let herself smile a little at the sight. It wasn't like anything was happening here. Not really. Not yet. But it felt good in that familiar sense. Comforting.

Swinging her legs over the side of the bed, Ruth wiggled her hips to the edge, and used the side of the headboard to bring herself carefully up to sitting, rubbing her tummy protectively. Grabbing a blanket from the end of the bed, she padded as softly as she could across the room until she was stood beside the sleeping figure. She draped the blanket carefully, not wanting to disturb Melanie just yet.

As she stood there, enjoying the cooling of the metal floor on her swollen feet and watching Melanie's brows furrow in her sleep, seconds ticked by. Ruth cried out. The pain in her lower back returned, stronger this time, and she braced herself with her hands on her knees. Melanie's eyes shot open.

Weapon themed headcanon

Once upon a time, Ruth would have looked upon the weapon with revulsion. But now, well nothing was the same these days was it? And it's not like she'd have to use it. The threat of it would be enough, wouldn't it? Just insurance, just tipping the balance if things didn't go her way. Wilford's way, she reminded herself, shaking out her hands before removing the gun from the confiscation locker.

Clothes themed headcanon

If Ruth cared she was missing a shirt, she didn't say anything. Mistakes happened in laundry sometimes, and besides which they were both so busy that Melanie wondered if Ruth would have noticed either way. But none of that mattered right now. Right now as she tried so desperately to fall asleep for the four hours between shifts, tossing and turning in her bunk, holding a pillow to her chest, wrapped in a shirt that somehow smelt far better than train detergent.

NSFW headcanon

Ruth always started out thinking of Him as her hand trailed between her legs. A personal commendation for her service to the train. Strong hands, those she'd shaken so readily, and sharp eyes, those that had watched her over his glasses as he dried out next to her fireplace. The feeling of being special, of being chosen.

Her hand doesn't slow as the anger bubbles up. Another was chosen. Green eyes, alongside the blue. Softer hands gripped in His. She watches them move in sync behind her eyes, skin on skin, in what she imagines to be the Engine. The dark haired woman getting own her own reward for services rendered.

Ruth feels herself get closer as the figures do. Her own breathing mingles with the pants and moans she hears inside her head and some small part of her wants to open her eyes, blink them away, but the baser part of her can't stop watching. Watching the way He presses into Her.

The way Her back arches, and Her breasts rise and fall with laboured breaths. The way She moves Her hips and bites Her lips. The way Her stomach rolls and Her body tenses as She... Ruth topples over the edge before she realises she's close.

She's got to stop thinking of Him, she thinks.
