I went into the supermarket the other day and saw literal toothpaste and went "huh, like the dragon" and stood there buffering for a solid minute while I processed what I just said I can't anymore
THATS SO FUNNY

Are your guardians particularly close with anyone? Either npcs or friends' ocs~ 👀
They’re all pretty close to different NPCs and friends’ ocs. I’ll try to list them off and remember as best I can lol
Zaya and Cayde-6 were are best friends. He helped her out a lot when she was still a fairly new Guardian and had lost her fireteam, and their friendship evolved from there.
Zaya is also pretty close with Lord Shaxx. They had a brief relationship back in the day but broke it off because of work, but they’re still good friends.
Zaya is married to the Drifter, too, so... that’s pretty self explanatory asgshska
As far as other friends oc’s she’s pretty close to a good few. Before Zaya became a Guardian she lived in the Reef with her dad. She went by Nira at the time and was pretty close to my friend @one-berzerker ‘s ocs Fjord and Dove. Fjord was like a dad to her, and Dove was like her little sister. They all reunited later on in Zaya’s Guardian life so they’re a happy family.
She’s also close to my friend @kazebtw ‘s twins Nurea and Vuran. They’re Zaya’s half brother and sister and she raises them when their parents die. There’s some drama that goes down between them surrounding Zaya’s death and queen Mara lying and manipulating them, but they all reunite in the end as well 💕
Jaxx-0 and my friend @thatwhobumblesabout ‘s cute lil Exo boy Farad-7 totally hooked up in their slut days,, so it’s pretty spicy 👀 💦
I also sorta ship Jaxx-1 with Shiro-4 but,,, not exactly sure how to go about that yet so we’ll see
Jaxx-1 and @one-berzerker ‘s Dove also meet in the Plaguelands and kick ass together
Nirgal and @kazebtw ‘s Vuran are married and they’re super gay and cute together
Akira had a really brief, but really intense crush on Hawthorne but after she got over it they stayed really good friends.
Akira is also pretty close with Eris Morn,, she helped her avenge her fireteam and her dead parents so yeah,, she’s one of the few that can make Eris laugh or smile
Akira is also pretty close with Cayde,,, he insists she should’ve been a Hunter instead of a Warlock and so adopted her instead 😂
Deon was basically raised by the Vanguard,, Zavala is his dad and Ikora and Cayde are his weird aunt and uncle so they’re pretty close too.
Deon also was always the biggest Saint-14 fan and after saving him they became really good friends. Saint constantly goes over to Deon and his husband’s place for dinner parties 👀 (their daughter Saoirse absolutely loves Saint too, he’s like her uncle at this point).
And my baby boy Uriah and @thatwhobumblesabout ‘s Farad-8 are the cutest boyfriends ever and I’m love them a lot 💕
This answer is super super long and I know it doesn’t cover everything but yeah,,, I hope that answers the question 👀 thank you so much! 💕
#my ocs#anon#thank you so much for asking!#i could go more in depth about any one of them if youd like tho#destiny ocs#zaya#jaxx#nirgal#akira#kasei#deon#uriah

INDY Primer: Bill Bell Backs Farad Ali + the Trump Gold Star Saga Continues [2017/10/20]
{ SPONSORED BY JOHN BROWN MUSIC GROUP }
Happy Friday, y’all. Thanks to everyone who made it out to the Farm Sanctuary event last evening. If you didn’t, check out the INDY’s Twitter feed (@indyweek), where we were live-tweeting the event. And I’d like to once again thank this week’s sponsor, the John Brown Big Band, which will be playing tomorrow night at the Carolina Theatre with famed trumpeter Nicholas Payton to celebrate the one-hundredth birthday of Dizzy Gillespie. You should definitely check that out if you can. (Also: you can find the web-browser version of this newsletter by clicking here. Share with friends!)
---
1. THE TRUMP/GOLD STAR FAMILIES SAGA CONTINUES, SIGH.
THE GIST: With any luck, this will be the last time this depressing story consumes the headlines, because the rabbit hole into which we’ve dove boggles the mind. Anyway. Yesterday, Donald Trump trotted out his chief of staff, John Kelly, to address allegations made by Democratic congresswoman Frederica Wilson of Miami that he was insensitive to the wife of a fallen soldier. Kelly, while basically confirming that Wilson had told the truth about what Trump said, told reporters that he was “stunned” that she was listening to the private call (which he was also listening to).
"I was stunned when I came to work yesterday morning, and brokenhearted at what I saw a member of Congress doing, a member of Congress who listened in on a phone call from the President of the United States to a young wife, and in his way, tried to express that opinion: that he's a brave man, a fallen hero."
The NYT: “Mr. Kelly accused Ms. Wilson — who was in a car with Ms. Johnson when Mr. Trump called and is a longtime family friend — of being a publicity-seeking opportunist. He said that the congresswoman’s willingness to breach the confidentiality of Mr. Trump’s words is evidence of a broader decline in the values of an American society that no longer treats women, religion, ‘life’ or Gold Star families as sacred.”
“He testified to the deep pain that parents feel when they get an early-morning knock on the door from an official to tell them that their son or daughter has been killed in action. ‘The casualty officer proceeds to break the heart of a family member,’ Mr. Kelly said, his eyes reddening as he spoke. And he described the moment that he got the knock on his own door: A military official telling him that his son ‘was doing exactly what he wanted to do when he was killed,’ Mr. Kelly recalled. ‘He knew what he was getting into by joining that 1 percent. He knew what the possibilities were because we were at war.’”
“He said Mr. Trump was merely trying to express what Mr. Kelly had discussed with the president before the phone call — that soldiers like Sergeant Johnson were doing what they loved, and what they had chosen to do, when they were killed serving the country. ‘That’s what the president tried to say to four families,’ Mr. Kelly said. He later appeared to attack Ms. Wilson by noting that, during an emotional 2015 ceremony, a congresswoman had crassly claimed political credit for getting funding for an F.B.I. building in Miami that was named for fallen agents. Ms. Wilson’s congressional district includes parts of Miami.”
According to the Miami Herald, he got facts wrong about that anecdote: “Kelly criticized Democratic U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson for claiming ‘she got the money’ for the new building during the 2015 ceremony while he and others in the audience were focused on the heroism of agents Benjamin Grogan and Jerry Dove, killed during a 1986 shootout with bank robbers south of Miami. Thursday night, Wilson said Kelly got the story flat-out wrong. In fact, she said Washington approved the money before she was even in Congress. The legislation she sponsored named the building after [two FBI agents who were killed in action in 1986], a law enacted just days before the ceremony.”
Related: Chuck Strouse, the editor of Miami New Times — who has covered the city’s politics since I was in grade school — says Wilson is a much more credible person than Trump: “So, President Lying Guttersnipe, you attacked Sen. John McCain for lack of heroism and embarrassed both yourself and the nation. And now you've attacked Rep. Frederica Wilson. You need to just stop talking. And tweeting. ”
WHAT IT MEANS: Kelly, whose son was killed in battle, has considerably more credibility on these matters than the president. And he was probably the only one who could effectively defend what, to the outside observer, seems indefensible.
“The president had made, or faced, a number of startling accusations in a 48-hour span: He first said previous presidents did not call families of dead soldiers, which was rebutted by their aides. Then, a congresswoman and the family of a slain soldier charged Trump with being insensitive in a phone call to the widow, saying Trump left her in tears. Finally, the father of another dead soldier accused Trump of offering $25,000 and then not paying. Trump wrote the check this week after The Washington Post initially published the story; it was promised in June. Kelly, long reticent of talking about his son's 2010 death, was not thrilled that Trump made his personal devastation a political football, said several people who know him. But his boss was in a jam — and he decided to come into the briefing room after telling others Trump was being treated unfairly, and that he hated seeing dead soldiers become a political cudgel.”
“The chief of staff also seemed to admit the president was far from perfect in an implicit rebuke. He told the briefing room that women were once sacred in the United States — not mentioning his boss' famous boast that he could sexually assault them because he was famous. He mentioned that Gold Star families were also once untouchable — not mentioning the president's lengthy imbroglio with the Khan family last summer after the Democratic National Convention. He talked about the dangers of military service without mentioning that his boss mocked Sen. John McCain for being held hostage and tortured in Vietnam.”
So we know Trump said what Wilson said he said — and did so on the advice of Kelly. Why not just admit that straight out, apologize to the family for any misunderstanding, and move on? As Kelly said, there’s no perfect to make those calls. And people would largely understand if Trump simply got his words mangled. But instead of apologizing, Trump is still attacking.
Related: A Gold Star widow had a much better conversation with Trump and provided audio to CNN.
Also related: North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis says Trump has “shown more respect for our troops in nine months” than President Obama ever did, in part because he criticized NFL players kneeling for the anthem.

2. BILL BELL ENDORSES FARAD ALI.
THE GIST: At a surprise press conference yesterday afternoon, outgoing Durham mayor Bill Bell announced that he wanted Farad Ali — not council member Steve Schewel — to succeed him. It was a tough choice, Bell said, because both are his friends and both have experience. But he was backing Ali because that would keep Schewel on the council and the council would have more experience. Which, to be honest, isn’t the strongest argument I’ve ever heard, considering that, should Schewel win, the council would pick his successor, and they could very well pick Ali.
“Bell had already made a public endorsement in the Ward 1 city council race, supporting incumbent and mayor pro tem Cora Cole-McFadden, but had yet to weigh in on the mayor's race, which will see Ali go up against current city councilman Steve Schewel. The two earned the most votes out of seven candidates on the ballot.”
“He said Ali has continued to be ‘a catalyst for bringing economic benefits to Durham’ after his four years on the city council. ‘Because of his successes, Farad's been sort of a go-to man for large industries, small industries, businesses, nonprofits, and he has facilitated great collaboration between the city and county,’ Bell said. ‘He has never wavered in his commitment to deliver results that put Durham first.’”
"By electing Farad Ali as mayor, we will be assured that at least four of our seven city council members will have had city council experience — not only important but crucial in setting policy and direction for the city and the city administration, which will have to execute those policies as decided by the majority of the city council," Bell said.
WHAT IT MEANS: In last week’s voting, Ali got 29 percent of the vote to Schewel’s 51. That means that, unless the composition of the electorate changes markedly — possible in a low-turnout election — Schewel is a big favorite to win, as it’s unlikely all or even most of third-place finisher Pierce Freelon’s votes would go to Ali. So it’s striking, then, that Bell is throwing his weight behind a big underdog in a race he seems likely to lose, especially given that his other endorsed candidate, Cole-McFadden, faces an uphill climb as well. What would it say about Bell’s legacy if the only two candidates he backed both lost? On the other hand, Bell has been a popular mayor, winning reelection easily year after year. Maybe his clout is enough to drag Ali past the finish line.

As you can see. In Japanese, Kyojin means Titan so I just mixed these to. The reason it is braveos, not Braavos is bc I want to show my respect to all those brave, and mostly dead, characters in these shows. Also I want to be brave too, bc these are hard times to endure and 2016 ruined me.

Wanted and Wired (Tether #1) by Vivien Jackson
.set-middle { vertical-align: middle; }
Review:
Rogue scientist • technologically enhanced • deliciously attractive Heron Farad should be dead. But technology has made him the man he is today. Now he heads a crew of uniquely skilled outsiders who fight to salvage what's left of humanity: art, artifacts, books, ideas-sometimes even people. People like Mari Vallejo. Gun for hire • Texan rebel • always hits her mark Mari has been lusting after her mysterious handler for months. But when a by-the-book hit goes horribly sideways, she and Heron land on the universal most wanted list. Someone set them up. Desperate and on the run, they must trust each other to survive, while hiding devastating secrets. As their explosive chemistry heats up, it's the perfect storm.
Wanted and Wired was a great book and its loaded with a lot of development and building info that kind of interfered with my ability to really enjoy this book as much as I'd hoped to enjoy it. However I think its a great book with a large very expanded world that is very intriguing.
Wanted and Wired falls along the lines of Sci Fi and Urban Fiction genre but it also had a bit of a Steam Punk kind of feel to it as well. So for those of you who enjoy a little bit of that world blend this may be a book you'd like to pick up.
I did like the H&H however they felt a little muted by everything else the author was trying to develop and give life to so it felt as if their personalities and possibilities were more than a little stifled by it all.
It wasn't bad but I felt they definitely could have used more development as they are the ones who should be carrying the reader through the story.
