Age of Empires 2
Age of Empires Mythology
And im sure there were many, many more. I'm still remembering more and more. Not to mention all the games we had on other platforms.
My mom was really encouraging with our love of video games. She loved them too. When i was just about 4 years old, my mom got a nintendo with The Legend of Zelda, for us to play. But my dad returned it cause he thought we were too young, and he thought that vifeo games were stupid. My sister was 7. So, its entirely his fault that i didn't get to grow up playing Zelda. But literally, right after they separated, my mom got us a super nintendo, a playstation, gameboys, and just anything she could get her hands on. She fiendishly loved games, and was really enthusiastic about sharing that with us. Actually got a secondary computer for us as well. We We loved playing mario bros and crash and spyro. God, we had an obscene amount of games. We were so lucky.
We did grow up on the poorer side, so it really is astounding just how many games we had. We either got games, books, or clothes for christmas. A few years after my parent's divorce, my dad would actually buy us the consoles and a few games and mom would just get us games, cause she really couldnt afford to get consoles. We were lucky that my dad did end up being willing to buy us expensive stuff like that, even if he didnt understand or care.
I've been trying to re-amass the collection, cause it was all stolen from us when we had to move into a shack. We had to keep all of the games in a different place, and some of my uncle's old ex-friends raided the place and sold our games and my books to fuel their drug habbits. I had almost a 1000 books... it still hurts my heart to think of all the books i lost. And our games.
We were incredibly lucky, as kids, to have access to the amount of games that we did. My mom loves watching us play, and it was prolly one of the best things she did for us. It was how me and my siblings bonded best, how we still do. We really bond best over games.
I don't care to play multiplayer, but the exception is my siblings. I love playing with them. Its something i'll always treasure and appreciate.
Was also fun playing with my uncle after he moved in. He was into the xbox, so, growing up, we pretty kuch had access to every major console, with the exception of anything made my sega. My cousind had the sega.
We might have had A Lot, but i guarantee that my cousins had much, much more. And they hardly played them or took care of them. Kinda a shame. I have a bit of resentment to my cousins. Both sets. They were spoiled and took everything for granted. Even broke their shit for fun, just to see their parents spend more money.
We obsessively took care of our stuff. Well, my brother was hard on discs, but it wasn't intentional. As soon as he really understood why we had to keep them in their boxes, he became obsessed over keeping all our electronics in good condition.
Sorry, i'm just reminiscing.
