The defending of Santanas outing is when I decided to pack it up. The mental gymnastics that people would do and continue to do from what I can tell when I poke in, to justify her outing is astounding. So many of them pretend to care about queer characters and narratives and then turn around and defend Finn outing Santana. I swear, so many of them just liked to discuss certain storylines when it gave them the moral high ground (figuratively) or was helpful to whatever narrative they were trying to perpetuate. I was also actively questioning my sexuality at the time and to log on everyday and see Santanas outing get justified and just a lot of nasty hate towards Quinn (I was madly in love with Dianna Agron and very much saw a lot of my own struggles in Quinn), I was get myself banned or end up leaving, so leaving it was.

Ahh the hot takes debates, what was frustrating is sometimes people would have hot takes and then they would just downvote them because they didn’t agree! I definitely tried at times to have fresh and new takes, mostly about the structure of the show or changing the lens of the show to a different character, and people would either downvote me or just argue with me over dumb things. I swear, they would all get annoyed when the sub got stale and then also get annoyed when you didn’t share the same opinions as them. I feel like because tumblr died (not actually obviously, but younger gen z definitely doesn’t flock here as much as older gen z and millennial) a lot of young people ended on that sub and that’s why it feels so juvenile at times. They’re having conversations long term members of the fandom had a decade ago when the show was still on air, but for the first time and think that it’s all new topics.

I believe that if you have been active on the Glee subreddit in the last 5-10 years, particularly in the pandemic era, you deserve financial compensation, a Medal of Honor, literally anything for being in the trenches on that thread. Every time I log on to check and see what’s up, they are literally posting the most rancid takes and excusing homophobia or racism or both. It was truly were nuance and analysis would go to die, especially for characters like Santana and Quinn who didn’t fit into the nice near boxes of the show.

10 years of Glee

I remember i wasn't really into Glee but still watched a couple eps because i was like a baby gay and had a total crush on Dianna Agron and Naya Rivera, but i didn't knew i was gay back then lol.

But wow i can't believe my favourite shit show is 10 years today. I'm still bitter over a lot of stuffs that Glee did but i still have happy memories with the show. Some song/episodes made me cry and others made me laugh. So I'm going to do my top 10 favourite Glee covers and my top 10 favs characters because why not?

1- My sunshine, my girl, Quinn Fabray, i love her, she could punch me and i would say thank you.

2-Santana Lopez. She was hilarious, a little shit but hilarious as well lmao.

3- Brittany S.Pierce. Look, The Unholy Trinity were my favs, they were so random and dumb, i just love them.

4-Mike Chang. My boy so underrated.

5-Sam Evans. Forever bitter of what they did to him in season 4/5/6.

6-Jesse St.James. He was an asshole but i still love him.

7-Rachel Berry. So fucking annoying, truly the love of my life.

Hey it's me again. I don't know why I ship them tbh, but Lugo's a big dumb kind of guy and Duro's a smartass, I think it'd make for some fun antics. Kind of like Izma and Kronk from Emperor's New Groove? Once Lugo falls in love, he just follows Duro around like a lost puppy and pretty much does whatever Duro wants.

I know you said you don’t plan on talking about it much but I’ve never heard any writblr mention tv series before! Would you mind giving a quick rundown of it?

oh god it’s mostly just… i honestly don’t know. my friend likes to plan out tv shows and things like that, and all i had at the time was blue moon inn, which was so specific and niche ya know? and i decided a tv show sounded fun, so i came up with some little plot that i don’t even know how i would execute in an interesting way and have it stretch over the span of even a season, i think it would be a comedy but idk how to write a comedic screenplay, so it was mostly just me wanting to create characters who weren’t so specific to a way of life and a certain time period (and yet i’ve chosen to put another one of my wips in a specific time period lol). BUT if you’d like to hear about it i can give a little description and a bit about each character i guess? ps you are so sweet for asking about this i honestly forgot i put that in my writeblr intro, i posted that like three weeks ago haha! i’ll put it under a read more because even this response is really long

it mainly focuses on lillian, who goes by ian and only ian, and two of her college friends trying to get their band back together. i had some plot points, like a couple of her friends would be getting married, a baby was going to come along somewhere, and the band would probably get signed?? relationships would be tested bc of the band’s success, etc. i honestly am not sure. i just LOVE making characters and i wanted to just make a bunch haha 

i have pinterest boards for all these characters but it’s on my pinterest that family members/people irl follow so they’re all secret boards haha

ian grieco - main character. 27. the singer & the pianist of the band. she’s pretty badass lmao. really likes classic rock like zepplin, van halen, aerosmith, etc. when she isn’t in the band, she’s a writer for a magazine! her fc is chelsea tyler (which makes it ironic that she likes aerosmith bc….. that’s steven tyler’s daughter but). no and my dumb ass decided to imagine the main character someone who isn’t even an actress asf;hdgrf 

liana cleur - 27. she plays the bass in the band! she’s pretty chill, just likes to have fun and stuff! trash description 1/10 i’m so sorry. she’s an event planner, and her fc is zoe kravitz. 

cora (levin) merchand - 27. the guitarist. she’s really sweet but still pretty cool. definitely the most “adult” out of the band, as she’s already married. she’s a high school music teacher and her fc is dianna agron. 

hanson kirschner - 28. the only non-original member of the band. their drummer from college didn’t stay in new york city like the rest of them, so they needed to find one. typical band guy, chill and funny, you know. maybe you don’t. i’m so sorry all these descriptions are shit omfg. he’s a graphic designer, and his fc is finn wittrock. 

johanna “jo” (olson) eagan - 27. the band’s “manager.” also ian’s best friend from childhood. really fun but also pretty mature, considering she’s a social worker and getting married to someone 18sh years older than her. her fc is imogen poots.

eleanor “nell” breslow - 28. part of the neighborhood crew from ian’s childhood (ian, johanna, nell, and imogen). she has a five year old son, sawyer elliot, whose father ran off when he found out she was pregnant. she and liana were going to date briefly! she’s a real estate agent, and her fc is mary elizabeth winstead.
