all of this would be fine and dandy if dani hadn’t decided on a new year’s resolution already. to make an effort to finally get over blaire and commit to more than just a one night stand with someone new. she’d spent far too long moping over her but… the new year hadn’t technically started yet. so, of course she’d jump at the opportunity to pretend to be in a happy relationship with her. she was weak when it came to blaire. her eyes widened at the mention of a makeover, shaking her head before she even finished. “dude, please don’t push your luck.” she took a step back, pulling out her phone to cancel her new years plans. “you owe me. big time, okay?” as she texted a vague something came up! might miss tonight :( to the group chat, dani glanced up for a moment to meet blaire’s familiar baby blues. “especially for asking on such short notice. what’s wrong, you scared i was going to say no?”

“ jeez, still honest abe over here. and it's not so much happy as it is to make me feel sane. my family's breathing down my neck till next month. ” blaire cringed, sinking further into the loveseat. she didn't feel guilty about asking dani for help, but it made her seem desperate to come running back. “ you'd be my first new year's eve kiss in about . . . three years? i've got everything covered. champagne on me. wardrobe also on me. ” the blonde's features lit up, nearly knocking the seat over as she stood.  “ oh, you've got to let me make you over! i haven't done it in forever. it'll be fun! ”
