@caseopened writes a lot about how Bill Hopper incorporates pieces of real PI investigative practices and techniques into his acting for Paul and I feel like it's so clear to see it in scenes like this.

The way he casually mentions that he's looking for Mrs. Ruth Kavanaugh then rolls with it so easily when she calls him out on knowing that was her already. Then how he gets straight to business in the third gif but in a way that's very non-threatening and reassuring so she doesn't get spooked. All while he's still being charming and polite. It's very fun to watch!
