centricide ask again! do you think there are parental bonds between the ideologies (other than Nazbol and his parents)? either "blood" or spiritual relatives. or are there none, Nazbol included?

ask me a question about centricide because i'm the closest thing ya got to jreg and everything i say makes complete sense.

Centricide spoilers and my own fanfiction "monopoly man" spoilers under the cut.

OKAY I'm really excited because this is a concept I want to explore in Monopoly Man, but it might get lost in all the subtext (which I tend to overstuff) so let me scream my truth.

There is a duality of humanity-divinity/ideology that exists in every identity of each Centricide character. You see this most clearly in Centricide 6, Identity, where N*zi finds out he's Jewish. Jreg combined a human element (DNA, physical biology) to ideological identity (political and moral belief). In a sense, we are what we believe. When your beliefs are inconsistent with your reality, something has to change. We see this happen when N*zi becomes a Z*onist, and Jreg's Blueman is obviously a criticism of the state of Israel.

In dialogue, the characters also almost talk exclusively about politics and in political terms. However, because they are political ideologies, they are talking about themselves. This sort of self-divulging creates an interesting dialogue of desire. Personal desire can be radically different from political desire. Most Centricide characters don't realize this, and that is why you see a lot of struggles with identity with the characters. Ancap famously establishes Ancapistan and starts to exploit minorities and women after the statists give him a dressing-down. Ancom becomes Post-Left. The only ideology that does not go through an identity crisis is Commie, but that is because Commie has a very solid belief in his identity that is supported by his knowledge of history.

In Monopoly Man Chapter 4, Ancap and Ancom have a conversation about Ancap's empathy. Ancap can only empathize with Ancom due to Ancom's ability of Mutual Aid. In this conversation, Ancap argues that it's not about politics anymore, and urges Ancom to stop talking about it. He has realized that his personal desire, care, and empathy for Ancom exceeds his principles of non-interference. But to talk about the person's desires as an individual is a breakaway from high-minded political theory that most Centricide characters engage in. It's almost a radical betrayal of their identity.

So what does this mean about familial ties? In my interpretation of the world in general, familial connections and love are something that is human in essence. As political ideologies and demi-gods, the ideologies struggle with this humanity-divinity conflict. Is it better to be "godly" and disengage, go the Buddhist route and sever your attachment from the world in favour of your ideals? Or is it more important to think about the people that you will impact? Your neighbours, lovers, and friends?

I think instead of family, due to the complex nature of political ideologies being born from each other but is not necessarily related or the same, I use the term "kinship." It feels quite spiritual and abstract, which I feel matches the vibe of political ideologies. So for example, Nazbol is both kin to N*zi and Commie, but is not the necessary result of the two joining together to unite and create a separate ideology. Commie and Ancom share a special connection, or "kinship", through leftist unity, but is not necessarily brothers or blood-related. The same goes with libunity and authunity. Posadist is kin to Commie but is not kin to Ancom, etc.

I think that as part-humans, they can have their own families separate from their beliefs and actions as political ideologies, but again, it can never be completely divorced. Thinking of the extremist polycule as parents and I think that'd be really cute. Their child's gonna be a mess of conflicting ideologies and end up as a centrist LMAO.

as for anarcho centrism... hrm... i think ze has a lot of actual opinions on things but prefers to remain neutral and sort of divorce those opinions from zir actual political ideology. so i think it's kind of hypocritical and doesn't like how indecisive and cowardly a lot of the centrists are. even though that's exactly how it sounds too. i think it likes apepolitical the best out of the centrists (aside from nihilism of course) because well. he's an ape! he's funny!

i think zir one of the more "normal" wackies and serves to like, reel some of them in when they get too intense and prevent some conflicts that might arise. it generally behaves sort of like nazbol in regards to being considered a wacky where it doesn't really consider itself one and isn't sure why it's treated like one but like, it'll get it eventually HAHA. i think ze gets along with most of them well

as for the anarchists... anarcho centrist sort of clashes with a lot of them and has trouble getting along with them because so many of their political ideas are very extreme and obviously that doesn't vibe well with zir centrism. it gets along with anarcho pacifist in particular for the most part but ze thinks he's sort of cowardly LOL. ze doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the anarchists because it's contradictory... maybe it could get along with ancap as friends cause of it? shrug! - polyficto

THIS IS SO FUCKING BASED… my favorite thing ever in centricide is when nazbol doesn’t understand why he’s a wacky ideology and tries so hard to be a regular extremist. i love that you’re kind of incorporating that same vibe, yk? i think it’s the peak of comedy, personally.

your s/i is so cool, i’m curious how they fit with both nihilism and posadism - is it a polycule?? either way, it’s incredibly based, those characters need so much love AND i think they have potential to have such a good dynamic with, if that makes sense??

and omg friends with ancap… that’s so real. he’s also super contradictory so they bond over not “making sense” to the other anarchists. adorable, 10/10, you’re reaching insurmountable levels of based. please tell me more, if you want to share more :3 i’d love to hear your ideas!

Random Centricide Headcanons

Conservative: The man is a badass preacher. Say what you want about his religion and his beliefs, he'll love you as one of God's children, even if you're a skeptic. He's surprisingly tolerant of other religions, even atheists (more tolerant than other Christians at least). But if you threaten to destroy his church, the Bible, or anyone he loves, you're in for one hell of a time. He won't hesitate to pull out a pistol, and he WILL kick your ass. He also plays Doom on his free time.

Libertarian: He's a gentleman to the core, and a very educated one at that. More than once has Ancap stopped him to repeat a sentence "in English". He uses very big words very often. His three favorite things are money, Ancap, and English literature. He's also very learned in the ways of wooing someone, especially flirting, which he uses to seduce Ancap on more than one occasion. He also flirts with women sometimes at banquets that the Librights host, which makes Ancap pretty jealous. Libertarian finds it slightly amusing. He's good with women (and men) in general.a

Minarchist: This man loves musicals. Look at him in Centricide 4.5, he radiates theater kid. He likes Hamilton and the Phantom of the Opera. He's very outgoing and overly nice to everyone, which kind of annoys Hoppean, as he's more withdrawn. No matter if you're a fascist or an anarcho-communist, he will help you out no matter what, which is what really sets him apart from the other Librights.

Hoppean: Despite his forceful demeanor, he's horribly withdrawn and shy. He's Minarchist's polar opposite, a complete misanthrope. Partly because he doesn't know how to deal with people. I think he has schizoid personality disorder, as he shows some symptoms. He has no idea how to talk to women, but unlike Nazi's borderline creepy and incel-ish tactics, he avoids them all together. Minarchist tries to play "the therapist" to get him to open up, which he absolutely despises. Deep down though, he secretly appreciates Minarchist being friendly with him, and is afraid that his naivety will get him into a bad situation with the homeless. So, he tries to protect him in a way, but will never, ever, EVER admit it. Overall, the mf is a complete tsundere.

The Librights in general: "This is literally 1984!" is their go-to phrase when something doesn't go exactly their way. Mostly said by Ancap when his 62nd alternative account gets banned on Reddit.

Nazbol: The very personification of the annoying kid who blasts the Soviet Anthem on the bus. He loves reading theory, and will never hesitate to proudly display this to everyone he meets. His favorite book is 1984, and his favorite characters are Big Brother and O'Brien. He calls them "based and purple pilled" in his frequent online arguments on r/pcm. He's an idealistic and arrogant 13 year old stuck in a who-knows-how-old-he-is' body. This makes him really unpopular, and he's bullied a lot. Deep down, Nazbol is a small and scared child who's hungry for love and approval. He wants nothing but for his fathers to love him, even though they hate him and each other. Angst ensues.
