Hey <333 so this was kinda changed around a bit and also mixed with a request for Nico x Son of Eros from ages ago, so whoever asked for that, here it is!

-Nico doesn’t know how to react.

-First of all, touch is a big no no for him, it makes him feel claustrophobic and stuck and there’s a lot of reasons he really doesn’t like that feeling. But then you came along, and suddenly maybe if he’s outside in the open spaces and you run up and wrap your arm around his shoulder, it might just be okay. 

-You just wear the prettiest rings and give him the prettiest rings, that holding hands isn’t the worst thing. Just because of the rings. Definitely. Not because of how your knuckles sit against his the way your thumb rubs against the scars covering his palms. 

-His hands. Holy Hades, you seemed to have this obsession with doing that silly bow and pressing your lips to the back of his hand every time he saw you. 

-Which was a lot. 

-Maybe it was meant to be, or maybe it was because Nico sort of detoured a little to wander past the Eros cabin or pop into the arts and crafts center. Just to see how Annabeth was doing teaching the weaving classes, of course. Not because you were usually in the back making another little thing.

-Nico ended up with a lot of those little things. They filled an entire coffin shaped shelf in his by now, but he couldn’t exactly get rid of them. The skull shaped candle was just too on point, you must’ve found a real skull for comparison, and that was dedication Nico couldn’t just throw away. And then there was a vinyl record of an old band Maria had taken him to with Bianca. However you had found that, it must've taken a lot of time and money. It would be rude to get rid of something like that.

-Of course the bouquets were always chucked out every few days, but only when Nico had touched the soft petals with a smile too much and they’d started to shrivel.

-Nico was still convinced Hazel was the mole, running to find you every time the sunflowers or the red roses or the ghost flowers [He hated to admit that they were really cool] wilted, because then another bunch of flowers would turn up on the doorstep of the Hades cabin with a pink silk holding them together. 

-Even the Mythomagic cards you’d found stayed on the shelf, although Nico already had them. They were from you. It would be rude. And they sort of made him grin a little bit. You paid so much attention, why wouldn’t that make him grin? 

-Especially because, well, you could be paying attention to anyone else. Literally anyone. There were people clawing their way into the sparring classes you went to. Not that they had much of a reason to watch, you spent most of the time holding a sword and then blinking in confusion at the instructor, who’d given up by now. 

-Archery was a whole different story though, and Nico had to admit, he had sort of gone to watch you do that a few times. 

-On one hand, you weren't exactly bad looking, but on the other hand all he could see was Eros laughing cruelly and launching volley after volley of heart shaped arrows into Nico’s limbs in that shadowy place filled with broken statues and pillars. It was safe to say he had a bit to work through, but the fact you still ran up with a grin considering the first time Nico met you, he had a full blown panic attack and then Jason nearly bit you, he figured you couldn’t do much harm. 

-The son of Jupiter still watched your interactions carefully, but Nico had convinced him to tone down the growling part. 

-Then you’d both bonded over the fact that your dads sucked majorly, and now Nico was sort of concerned that Jason might steal his- his… his whatever you were [apart from way too pretty]

-Nico had to admit, you were really good looking. Something about the shininess of your eyes and the way your smile was so sharp had to be some sort of love god trickery, but it made his stomach fill with the souls of the departed and shadows to thicken in the corner. 

-You didn’t even mind when the grass wilted around him and the air got a bit too cold to be normal. 

-One time you even picked him up and just carried Nico princess style to the pavement that couldn’t shrivel and turn brown. That certainly helped the bad feelings inside his head take a break and admire your arms. 

-He figured when you showed up one night in your normal camp clothes and a pink bow tie to take him to the first showing of Scream 6 [Nico liked explaining how many stabs it would actually take to kill the characters], that there really was no back peddling.

-So he took the bouquet of ghost flowers from you and then held both the flowers… and your hand.

alright closing umineko for the night!! i had a great time with it so far!! i really like the writing style, and for the most part its actually a lot less dense than i was expecting. I thought it might be some house of leaves stuff but no this is pretty easy to read, at least so far! im rlly glad for that like it doesn't feel too simple, not too complicated, its good!

i havent met beatrice yet but im looking forward to it she looks super neat.

i also apperciate how slow burn this is, a few hours in and very little has happened yet it's nice. there's already a lot building but like. nothing big yet it's nice. i like it. it feels like it's moving at exactly the pace it wants to and i enjoy it a lot. the sound design is also rlly good. the music is really nice a couple times i got distracted and just listened to it in the bg. the sfx r nice too.

i do not regret my sprite choice i like these designs they're fun, but i do think maria looks a little off for her alleged age of 9, but it's easy to ignore after a min or two.ironically when i was loading the game and saw her on the steam page it def aligned better, but at the cost battler to my eyes is now yassified. he cant be a pretty boy to me he's too lame.

voice acting is great everyones putting fucking everyting into it and i enjoy that. fully commited to the enviroment and its great.

where i left off: everyone just finished having lunch! kumasawa covered for shannon not knowing the red sauce's ingredients. that's all for now! not sure when ill paly more, probably tomorrow, but its been good!! good game so far i like this setg up!! im also eagar to get more into the murder and violence and witch stuff but like, it does a good joib of setting up the characters so i dont feel impatient, and unlike a lot of games w/ murder n mystery that get right into it i kinda find it refreshing how slow this one is to start its like we all know itll get there so the tension of everyone being relatively calm is great.

the slow burn is good like even if shadow doesn't kick his ass infinite still doesn't get along with shadow. shadow probably doesn't really give a shit though hes just trying to do his job LOL

but through proximity they get along eventually. i bet infinite falls in love first while shadow is oblivious and then has to talk to rouge in order to understand he also likes infinite.

i’m rooting for the blue team the hardest. ngl they could all make it to merge and i stand by that. i’m looking forward to seeing their interactions. the other teams contain characters i don’t really care about and some i really love (alec, grett and fiore <333 ...yul, ashley, connor, riya <<<) so i have mixed feelings on them. also yul now also being homophobic beside racist is not the funny haha joke i think they were aiming for, or i guess i’m not the target audience for it

i’m also happy to see the improvement in some of the sound quality and acting. aiden, tom, alec, fiore all still sound great in both of those. james got a new mic but i still feel like he doesn’t express the right emotion in some scenes, i’m hoping that will change. ally got a new actress! i really like her! but i swear to god that as soon as ally and hunter start fighting and not communicating they will be shoved to the very bottom of my list. those two are already annoying me, and more than tomjake, if that was even possible

i like ellie more already this season. her outfit encaptulates her personality better, she is more confident, she’s attending uni woohoo! also she is the nastiest bitch ever and i LOVE HER for it. yeah girl drag alec and ashley through the dirt, how they are so annoying is beyond me too! 1658 is a terrible, no good year for the spanish monarchy lmao: there's several ongoing wars — vs. france and vs. portugal (supported by, shocker, france and england) — and finances are going impressively bad overall (an inefficient, overextended system, the war... and the massive amounts of money invested in leopold i's campaing for holy roman emperor lol).

internationally, for the war with france, both parties are exhausted in terms of men and money, but england's last minute entry with france + big defeats (like don juan of austria at dunkirk/battle of the dunes - which even cost him the governorship of low countries lol) tip the balance decisively in france's favor and kinda force the treaty of the pyrennees. the attempt to stop the independence of portugal is doing somewhat better (ie it doesn't look hopeless yet) — i believe the siege of badajoz, which spanish troops win, is ongoing that year — but it's all syphoning resources like crazy, resources which the monarchy doesn't have after almost 30 years of uninterrupted war against basically everyone.

domestically, the court is not going through a particularly tough time (apart from financing problems... eg. no credit for food anymore lol. parties are still on though) and the government is stable. 1658 is the tail end of luis de haro's tenure as prime minister (he died in 1661), and he never lost the king's support... ever after delivering a staggering loss on the portuguese front the very next year lol, at the battle of evora. the birth of infante fernando tomás makes felipe's succession look very secure (2 daughters + 2 sons), which allows him to start seriously planning to marry off maria teresa to louis xiv (instead of the safe bet/ally leopold i as they were already preparing) without it being as much of a gamble (hah!!).

maria and you were never the affectionate couple. at least it seems that way to other people. you were the types to be affectionate in your own ways.

like when maria is streaming for quite a bit you'll be sure to bring her more water or some snacks to tide her over. or when you torture yourself with hours of studying she'll remind you to rest for just a little bit. which you are definitely thankful for since you never wake up with an aching back and sore eyes.

but it is true that you guys never hold hands or do any other couple-y stuff in public. its just that you're both too shy and a little awkward to do that around other people.

"wow, you look comfy," you hear maria giggle lightly as she walks in, setting shopping bags down.

you look over as a small smile takes the place of your earlier frown. maria is busy looking over some of the bags when a thought you had comes rushing back to the forefront of your mind. i should be the one to kiss her.

you quickly get up, surprising maria as you place your hands on her shoulders, moving her to face you. you swallow the last of your nerves and quickly (but hopefully gentle enough) place your lips on hers.

i honestly get why you think its a filler-y chapter BUT ALL STORIES GOT THESE FILLER-Y chaps dude thats what make the story flow so well !! Idk what ur plan is for part 4 (hopefully itll make me cry and throw up out of sadness or joy) but seeing how ure hyping it up, chap 3 is like an appetizer for what might happen next- a feel good chapter when only a little bit goes wrong between the characters (except for the raiders, we hate raiders) but then BOOM a good slap on your face once chap 4 drops!!

i love love the relationship the reader has built up with maria and tommy and chap 3 rlly showed that PLUS BABY MILLER!! prolly the sweetest thing in the chap 💗💗
