ohmygod that ask about parting ways with lighter during his ember arena days—him being bad with names but he never forgot yours 🥹 sometimes he'll hear your name in passing and it'll catch his attention, looking up and everywhere in hopes that it's really you, sometimes he'll spot someone in a crowd who has the same hair color and stature as when he last saw you, running after them only to discover it's a complete stranger

i think he’d also be a little worried about what you’d think of him after reuniting again. would you like him more? what if you disliked the ‘new’ him? he’d try to look in those eyes, the same ones that haunt him in his sleep, to understand you. to know if you still felt the same as him, to know if you were still the same.

did he want you to stay the same? he wasn’t too sure. but all he knew was that he wanted you in his life, to never walk out on you ever again. if he ever did again, he promises to find you. every single time.
