i too wish one day i found a letter from my grandpa in my drawer telling me about the farm still on his name (he's dead) in a random town so i can leave my boring job and stupid city life to move to this small town consisting of like 20 people and live in an abandoned but fucking giant farm, go fishing with a fishing rod i didn't even pay for, and sometimes go fight for my life in the mines knowing that there's a just adopted cat waiting for me in my just one room just one bed and tv small house. and i don't even have to worry about my poor social skills because i give the town people random things i find in the trash or the river or the ground and they love me. and then i would suddenly realize that after a year i've fallen in love with either the former mean blonde girl that is actually a sweetheart and loves sunflowers and photography or the cheerful blonde guitarist with adhd that loves the joja colas i find in the trash and skating.

Hi, how about oblivious farmer? Like half the town is in love with them and they give them hints they don't see. The farmer treats them as good friends and says they want to be friends with them forever lol. It would also be nice to see them compete with each other a bit (Especially Alex vs Sam, because I like them the most. But my character probably won't get involved with anyone because I'm a little afraid of them having kids. Of course I like kids and would be nice having children, but I just i heard that in sdv they are creepy and people turn them into birds, i'm a bit worried…so story almost taken out of my character's life in stardew valley). Oh Yoba, bless the heart of the oblivious Farmer. And bless the patience of all the bachelors and bachelorettes who are trying their best to make almost obvious hints to win the interest of the young and chaotic Farmer of the whole Valley. But the real chaos began when word got out that Farmer so-and-so didn't mind dating both guys and ladies. That is, the bachelors began their competition for the Farmer's heart, not realizing that the bachelorettes were also determined to win the Farmer for themselves. Moreover, each was for himself, and one individual has to have as many as 11 potential competitors.

Some left the "game" as soon as it started, not believing that they would have any chance (Penny, Shane, Maru and Sebastian), some began to show "aggressive" friendship to Farmer, almost sticking to them like a faithful dog that would bark and cackle at the sight of outsiders (Alex, Abigail Sam), while others did not employ any tactics, considering sincerity and friendship to be the key to winning hearts (Harvey and Emily). Some decided to go for the sly, and with the help of not too damaging friendship and mental health gossip cleverly push the competitors away from Farmer and win themselves over (Haley). And it also happens that some people were so caught up in the battle for young Farmer's heart that they didn't notice how they fell in love with each other (Elliott/Leah).

The married and adult residents of the Valley looked on in total shock. Someone, namely the parents of some of the bachelors (those same Jodi, Robin and Caroline) also tried to hint to Farmer that their son/daughter really liked them. Someone (Lewis) tried to talk sense into the love-crazed youngsters by nagging them to stop their "loving advances". The children (Jas, Vincent, and Leo) looked on with incomprehension, believing it was "just another grown-up fad" that they, alas, could not yet comprehend. How the others (Marnie, Willy, and Gus) laughed heartily at the whole thing, and how George grumbled at home because all that "love cacophony" kept him from watching TV. Also laughing heartily, the old adventurers (Marlon and Gil) genuinely didn't understand how their young Guild member could calculate sophisticated tactics against dangerous monsters, but can't figure out when someone is flirting with them (they even made a bet who would win, just for fun). Rasmodius shook his head and asked the Farmer if they had knocked over the love potion.

What's funny is that in the end the Farmer's choice fell on Krobus. Because they're a sweet, kind, cool monster, and they smell like licorice. Who would have thought that happiness can be found in stinking sewer drains. Although, given that diamonds or gold ore are found in some garbage cans of the residents of Stardew Valley, there is nothing to be surprised at all...

PS: Also yeah, you're right. Sometime, children in this game looks like a nightmare fuel 😅 And the fact than you can rid of them by turning them into pigeon... Oy vey.

"Alright, Foyet has to be in control," Derek says. "He had Haley come to him."

"Where would he take her?" Spencer asks.

"He'd want Hotch to find him, to see where he was, and to see what he did. He said something on that call that told Hotch where to go."

"Reid, what did he say exactly?"

"'Haley's hair looks good dark. She's lost some weight. ... It must be because of all the stress you caused her. ... Where's the little man? Oh, there he is now. ... Do you think he likes Captain America because of you? ... That's your wife on the other line. Hold, please. ... Hi. Open the gate and I'll drive in.'"

"Open the gate?" Rossi asks, confused. "It would be someplace with the biggest emotional impact for Hotch, and Haley has access to the gate."

"It's their house," you say. "You know, where they used to live together. It means the most to Hotch. If he plans on killing her, he wants to taint the good memories Hotch has there."

"She's right," Derek nods. "He wants to take over Hotch's home, to be in control and prove his dominance."

Your team gets into two separate cars but is connected on the phone. Derek calls Hotch and places him on speakerphone.

"Morgan."

"He's going to your house. I'm sending out a full tactical deployment, Hotch."

"I know."

"We're on our way."

Hotch hangs up but Penelope stays on the line.

"Foyet's calling Hotch," Penelope says over the phone.

"Garcia, can you get us on?"

She does and Hotch's voice comes through the car's speaker. Dread creeps up your body because you know what's coming. Death. Death is coming.

"Foyet," Hotch glares.

"Aaron? You're okay?" Haley gasps.

"I'm fine."

"He said that... Oh, Aaron," she sighs.

"He can hear us, right?"

"Yes, I'm so sorry."

"Haley, show him no weakness, no fear."

"I know. Sam told me all about him. Is he, uh--"

"No, Sam is fine.'

"Aaron, Aaron, Aaron. Is that why your marriage broke up? Because you're a liar?" Foyet says from a distance.

He's in the room but he's not right next to the phone.

"Don't listen to him, Haley."

"I have Sam's service phone right here. They sent out a mass text about his death. You can take a look if you want."

"He's trying to scare you."

"Did you even tell her what this was about? About the deal?" Foyet teases.

"He's just trying to make you angry, Haley."

"She should be. She's gonna... d-i-e because of your inflated ego."

He speaks softly when he spells the word 'die' and you can only assume Jack is in the room with them.

"Ignore him, Haley," Hotch urges.

"I'm sure you don't want her to know this part either. All he had to do was stop looking for me and you wouldn't be in this mess."

"Don't react."

"What is he talking about?" Haley gasps.

"Tell Jack I need him working the case."

"What?"

"Tell Jack I need him working the case."

"Jack. Did you hear that?"

There is a shuffle of movement before Jack speaks.

"Hi, Daddy."

The tears fall down your cheeks at the sound of his innocent voice. Foyet is going to kill Haley and then move on to his son because he wants to destroy Hotch.

"Hi, buddy."

"Is George a bad guy?"

"Yes, he is. Jack, I need you on this case with me. Do you understand? I need you to work the case with me."

"Okay, Daddy."

"Jack, hug your mom for me."

You can only assume she does.

"Mommy hug me too tight."

"I'm sorry," Haley smiles tearfully.

"Why are you sad?"

"Oh, I just love you so much."

"Mommy, I gotta go. I'm working the case."

"Okay."

Jack runs off to a different part of the house and she lets her resolve crumble.

"He's so cute. He's like a little junior G-man. I'll be right up, Jackie boy!" Foyet calls after him.

"Is he gone?" Hotch asks.

"Yes."

"You're so strong, Haley. You're stronger than I ever was. I know you didn't sign on for this."

"Neither did you."

"I'm sorry for everything."

"Promise me that you will tell him how we met, and how you used to make me laugh. He needs to know that you weren't always so serious, Aaron. I want him to believe in love because it is the most important thing. You need to show him. Promise me."

"I promise," Hotch cries.

There is a beat of silence before you hear a gunshot. You gasp and cry for the loss of Haley. Hotch's fear and heartbreak are evident over the phone but you're the only one who can feel it on a deeper level. Like you need this. Like you need more on your shoulders. Maybe you shouldn't have come back. Maybe you should look for another job.

When you finally get to Hotch's house, you run inside and see Hotch beating on Foyet's dead body. Derek rushes over to Hotch to stop him, and Hotch cries in Derek's arms.

"Hotch! He's dead, Hotch. Come on, it's over. It's okay, it's over."

Hotch pushes Derek away and climbs the stairs to find Jack. He seems to know where he is hiding. There is a storage bench by the window of his home office that Jack is in. He is unharmed and without a drop of blood on him. You follow him upstairs and see him take Jack out of the storage bench.

"I work the case, Daddy, just like you said," Jack smiles proudly.

"You did a great job, buddy."

"What happened to you, Daddy?"

"I'm okay. I want you to go outside with Ms. Jareau. Okay?"

"Come here, sweetheart," JJ smiles and takes Jack in her arms.

Hotch finds Haley in the master bedroom dead on the ground, and he holds her while sobbing. It's heartbreaking seeing someone you care about go through this. You can't be here. You can't handle this. You leave the house and try to calm your racing heart.

When Chief Strauss heard about what happened here, she wanted the story from everyone without bias so she decided to have a conversation with each and every one of you separately. JJ is the first one in the room and she is nervous so to speak. Strauss presses the button on the recorder to make sure she gets everything documented.

"Please say your name and rank for the record."

"Supervisory Special Agent Jennifer Jareau, communications liaison for the Behavioral Analysis Unit in Quantico, Virginia."

"How long have you been a member of the BAU?"

"Six years."

"Have you worked under Agent Hotchner the entire time?"

"No, ma'am. I currently report to acting Unit Chief Derek Morgan."

"He took over the unit because Agent Hotchner's ability to lead the team had become compromised, right?"

"I don't believe that's the reason," JJ stutters.

"You have a different opinion?"

"It's not an opinion."

"You have a different understanding?" Strauss rewords her question.

"SSA Hotchner voluntarily stepped down so we could continue to do our jobs unhindered."

"How would you describe Agent Hotchner's recent behavior?"

"Driven."

"Driven? Agent Jareau, your entire team is on the line If I cannot reconcile an adequate account of Agent Hotchner's investigation into George Foyet," Strauss sighs.

"We were all investigating the Reaper. SSA Hotchner was not the only one, especially after he sent us that calling card."

"You mean the newspaper articles he mailed to Karl Arnold?"

"No, we got two letters from two different locations. They ramped us all back up again. I should just start at the beginning. Foyet had done a lot of injury to himself in the original string of killings in an effort to paint himself as a victim and throw us off the investigation. As a result, he became dependent upon a large number of extremely strong medications. We'd been searching the country for patients with that exact prescription combination but we hadn't had any luck."

She tells her version of the events while keeping Hotch in a good light. Strauss doesn't interrupt and lets her talk until she is done. The next person she calls is Penelope who might be more nervous than JJ.

"Would you like some water?"

"No, thank you, ma'am."

"Are you alright?"

"I-I'm just not, uh, comfortable with any of this. It's not okay," she stutters.

"What do you mean?"

"In my opinion, everyone is asking the wrong questions. Doesn't anybody care about what the Reaper did to them? How many people did he hurt? All anyone seems to care about is... This just isn't right," Penelope sighs.

"Do you think that Agent Hotchner was acting agitated or unreasonable?"

"He--No, no, he--He was freaked out about his family. Which, considering what happened, I'd say was perfectly reasonable."

She gives her version of the story which isn't much since she wasn't physically there at all. She only knows what happened over the phone call. Rossi is called in next who doesn't seem to be afraid of Strauss.

"Once the team located George Foyet's potential apartment, why didn't the BAU enter immediately?" Rossi doesn't answer right away. He is doing something on his phone. "Agent Rossi?"

"Hmm?"

"I asked you a question."

"Gold is still going up. Though, knowing when to get out is the trick," he chuckles and puts his phone away.

Strauss turns off the recorder with a huff of frustration.

"What are you doing?"

"What's the point of all this, Erin? Why?"

"So this never happens again."

"There is nothing a bureaucrat can do to make sure that something like this never happens again," Rossi argues.

"So, we just wait for the next bloodbath?" Rossi sighs and Strauss turns the recorder back on. "Why did you wait so long before going to Foyet's apartment?"

"We had to be sure he was there. If we went in and he wasn't, he would know we found him. Of course, the longer we waited, the more time he had to... It was an impossible decision."

"Who made it? Agent Hotchner?"

Rossi begins the story with his version of the event. Derek made the call to go in, not Hotch. Strauss is just looking for an excuse to get Hotch in trouble. Spencer is the next one who is the best person to recall the event exactly how it happened. You've always admired his beautiful mind.

"So, you left for Marshal Kassmeyer's house immediately?" Strauss asks when he tells her the beginning of the story.

"Yes, ma'am."

"Wouldn't that be a job for a tactical team?"

"We felt that it would take too much time to get authorization for another operation."

"We?"

"All of us."

"Don't you mean Agent Hotchner wanted that?"

"No, I mean all of us wanted that. I know what you're thinking, and I agree it would be easy for us to blame him."

"Easy?"

"Yeah. Why not just say it's his fault, and then we can all just forget about it? The problem is, I have an eidetic memory and that's not what happened."

"Do you believe it was Marshal Kassmeyer's fault that Agent Hotchner's family was compromised?"

"Absolutely not."

"You answered that very quickly."

"When you're being tortured, there's no end in sight except giving them what they want."

"Kassmeyer didn't do that?"

"He withstood everything that Foyet had."

"Tell me exactly what happened."

Spencer did. He told her every single detail. Still, that's not enough for her. She wants everyone's viewpoint so the next person in is Emily. You're sitting outside the office with Emily who walks in next. Spencer barely looks at you as he passes by, and you sigh.

"Are we really doing this, Spencer?" you ask.

He doesn't respond.

"Agent Prentiss. We understand that Agent Hotchner managed to separate himself from the rest of the team."

"He didn't manage to do that. When Marshal Kassmeyer was in the ambulance--"

"Agent Hotchner volunteered to ride along," Strauss cuts her off.

"To get answers before he lost consciousness."

"Why didn't you go with him?"

"It didn't seem necessary."

"Did he tell you that?"

"Is that what you're looking for? A way to blame this on him? What good could that possibly do?" Emily gasps.

"Agent Hotchner was looking for an opportunity to separate himself from the team and he found one."

"That isn't true."

"He was desperate and he didn't want someone with a clear head to stop him."

"Is there a question in there somewhere?" Emily glares.

"Tell me what happened while Agent Hotchner was in the ambulance."

"We contacted the U.S. Marshals. They said Haley was in the wind. She had dumped her cell phone so there was no way to track her."

"How did Agent Hotchner react to that news?"

She tells her version of the story in less detail than Spencer did. She wants to protect Hotch so she makes him seem like a victim in all this. Derek is called in next which makes sense because she wants you to be last. You're the one with the problems. You're the one who went to jail. She'll look to you to blame Hotch for what happened.

"After what happened to Kassmeyer, you still didn't know where Foyet was?"

"The phone belonged to a U.S. Marshal. It was designed to bounce between towers so we could not pinpoint his location."

"So, Agent Hotchner was driving around aimlessly?"

"No. He wasn't. We had Foyet's profile and we knew if we followed it, we would know where he took Hotch's family." He tells her exactly what happened, but he can't tell her what happened in the house after Haley was shot. "I don't know what happened after that."

"Thank you. You're dismissed."

Derek leaves the room with a sigh, leaving you to go in next. You take a deep breath and walk inside the room, and Strauss crosses her arms to show her dominance. God, she can be such a headache sometimes.

"Would you like something to drink?" she offers.

"No, thank you."

"I have heard this story six different times. Am I going to hear it a seventh?"

"Do you want to hear it a seventh?"

"Look, all I'm doing is getting an accurate account of the events regarding Agent Hotchner and George Foyet."

"Well, I don't know how much good I can do. This is my first case back."

"Yes, I know. I'd like to talk about your prison time."

"How is that related to what happened?" Strauss opens her mouth to answer but you shake your head. "No, I'm going to stop you right there. Me being in prison doesn't have anything to do with this, and you know it."

"I'm just trying to--"

"I know what you're trying to do," you cut her off. "I was there when Foyet first popped up. I was there when he stabbed Hotch and left him to die. I'm here now. Don't you dare try to pin this on him when you know damn well this isn't his fault. That man had been taunting Hotch for over a year. How would you have wanted him to react?

"What if it were you, and your husband and kids were targeted by a serial killer? Would you have reacted with reason and logic?" Straus can't seem to say anything to you. Partly because she wants to see where you're going to take this and partly because she is shocked. "Just because you don't like Hotch or like how he handles this team doesn't make him bad at his job. He's the best boss I've ever had and he's a damn good person, too. He takes care of this team in ways you'll never understand. 

"If you want to get rid of Hotch so badly, and it looks to me that you do, then tell him to leave. Don't try and blame him for his wife's death. What he did was in self-defense. Foyet was going to kill him. Hotch did nothing wrong, and me and my personal problems have nothing to do with this." Strauss' face hardens a bit. "Look, I truly mean no disrespect and I'm not trying to get fired, but I'll stand by Hotch and his decisions every single time. He never does anything without thinking about every possibility."

Strauss doesn't need to hear the events a seventh time, not when everyone else said the same thing. Knowing you're not welcome here anymore, you leave the meeting room and pass Hotch in the hallway. He makes eye contact with you but doesn't say anything. He walks into the room knowing he might not have a job after it.

He gives her his version of events which is more emotional than everyone else's versions.

"There was nothing I could do for her. She was already..."

Strauss has Haley's file with her so she picks it up and scans it quickly.

"She died fairly quickly. One of the wounds severed her aorta, and they don't think that she--" She looks up and sees the pain in Hotch's eyes. "They don't think she suffered much. Agent Hotchner, what do you think would have happened if George Foyet had gotten up from that floor? If you didn't kill him?"

"I don't have to think. I know he would have tried to kill my son, too."

"That's good enough for me." She turns off the recorder. As much as she hates to admit it, you're right. Hotch is a damn good Unit Chief. "Agent Hotchner. I'm so sorry for your loss. If you or your son need anything..."

"Thank you," he whispers.

Everyone goes home with heavy hearts and headaches over today's events. Spencer still isn't talking to you which is only adding to the stress and pain you already have. He still sleeps in the same bed as you but he is acting like you murdered someone. You hope that things will be better in the morning so you go to bed early.

However, you wake up with a gasp in the middle of the night. Your side of the bed is covered with your sweat but Spencer isn't up. No, you're not going to let this ruin your life. You're not going to let it control you.

My experience and opinion on each vanila love interest choice

Bachelors

Alex : Jock. Gramp Jorge and grandma Evelyn's grandson. He have dog. He is young but capable to grow up. I am closer with his grandparents more than him.

Elliott : Local romantic dreamer broke writer with luxury taste. His piano skill well. As good friend, I always give him crabcake I have too much. Ship with Leah.

Harvey : Idea of local and only doctor in town crush on me from the first sight even before he do my health check is so uncomfortable. Not mention he still collect me 1000g doctor fee when I fall sleep in my farm after married. Also his crush on Maru is awkard. He is NOPE for me

Sam : Sabestian's friend. Young one with dream and good big brother. Still nah not my type. I admit that in his family, he is one I feel least close to.

Sebastian : He click so perfect. I enjoy slow with stable pace with him. I am happy that he is happy and found his own place and how he belong. Among vanila, he is always one I marry with. I fear frog in RL so much but I willing to let him keep dozen of frog in his santuary. I get along well with his mom but not feel close with maru or Demetrius.

Shane : Broken and depression. At least after heart 8, he recovery a bit and found his passion. I never give him beer. My relationship with him more like I am best family friend with ranch family.

Bachelorettes

Abigail : Sorry for her fan but she is "I am not like another girl" vibe for me. Like Sebastian casual nightstroll in mine and give us Void Essence and Frozen Tear that is on deep floor while Abby said a lot how much she want to enter and train sword but always have cold feet to enter enless you married her. Her 14H event of she protect us from damn bat and give its grave is sweet but stupid. We survive and fight damn flying fire in valcano and carried weapon like 90% or time. Make she save our ass is kinda force scipt. Also enter cave mean you kill or attack a lot monster bc they wouldn't left you alone, I kinda avoid attack shadow people unless it is self defend bc Krobus but I wouldn't give bury to damn 300 iridium bats I slay to farm bat wing. I don't want to 'advanture' with Abigail since I enter mine for gather resource and material not for fun. My relationship with Pierre is conflict bc his personality and I feel I didn't close with Caroline much.

Emily : Weird but good friend. I can't imagine spend my whole life or date her, her bubble hight energy is not good for my introvert small social energy bar.

Haley : Well she act like spoiled stereotype blond bitch at first but she slowly grow up and sweet girl at heart. She havr city girl spirit so I understand that rural town like this make her feel frustating on a lot inconviniece but at least bus is fixed now. She was honestly have cheaper taste than you thougth she will have. I could imagind with baking sweets together with her and cuddle animal farm together and take pic or show her some secret place's great view. I wouldn't mind married her.

Leah : I can imagine we spend peacful time together in our farm and do forage together in forest. Or she drawing my farm animal or my pet or view. Wouldn't mind married her

Maru : well she is good girl with skill and innovative mind. Just not my type... Her father is kinda overbearing in law type too

Penny : let said, I aware she is good girl, just someone with mindset and dream for perfect loving family kinda not fixed well with me. Her reaction if we said we never want kid at all is kinda something even I understand why. Also her eager to help around that could end up be insensitive something even she didn't mean it. Well let said she isn't my type and me isn't one I think she will happy with too. I feel closer with her mom more than herself.

Stain is such a great story, Alex and Sebastian have made so much progress understanding each other, and I'm excited for their relationship to continue to develop (not just physically... but okay really excited for that too!!)

Wondering what gave you the inspiration and what you like most about the Alex/Sebastian pairing, or any other thoughts about Stardew Valley as a fandom you want to share!

Honestly the thing that inspired me the most was just playing the game! :D

I have nearly 1800 hours in Stardew Valley, and that's like...what I would call a few hours to just daydream about all the characters. And me being the multi-shipping fiend that I am, I do also just like to imagine all the characters in relationships with each other.

I'm not someone who really cares about my farmer (or PC) in the central romance, which is why I don't write this in video games that have you as a player character! I didn't do that for Stuck on the Puzzle, or The Wind that Cuts the Night, or Palmarosa. I don't actually care as much about whoever I'm romancing, I care more about what relationships can happen between other characters.

And I think because I daydream about that, rather than my farmer character (or me) with the NPCs, that gives me like a lot of time to think of different things.

I started daydreaming about Sebastian as a top several years ago, he had that energy to me even like 2 years before I romanced him (the amount of times I've romanced Alex is criminal at this point). I sometimes imagined him with like Sam, but mostly Alex. I also imagined him being good goth literature friends with Elliott lol

Even in The Wind that Cuts the Night I have Sebastian as a top with the farmer :D

I don't actually get that involved with the fandom in general. I've tried a few times, and some of the fanart is incredible (and the MODS omg), but I've never really loved any of the SDV fic that I've read (or more accurately: skimmed). I don't like farmer/NPC pairings. The vast majority of people wrote Sebastian as a bottom (or a fluffy vanilla top which is somehow worse) in m/m like 4-5 years ago and I'm too tired to check how much that's changed.

Alex actually gets a lot of hate in the fandom - at least amongst most of the queer players - and seeing a character who is a victim of child abuse treated like that just kind of left me with a bad taste in my mouth (it seemed to be based around Alex's initial rudeness, which doesn't last nearly as long as Shane's, who was hero-worshipped long before he got his whole storyline, because he wasn't romanceable for years).

So I really avoid the fandom, and I couldn't tell you who's writing the most popular fics or the most popular pairings or anything like that. I don't look into the tags, and almost all the fanart I've ever shared here or at @capillata has been shared to me by someone else first.

So yeah the answer is mostly just that I daydream a lot and I've had many many hours to do it in! :D

I like Alex/Sebastian as a pairing mostly because I've always just liked troped opposites in enemies to lovers. The jock vs. the goth nerd has been a long-term media troped opposition romance pairing, and even outside of romances, is often shown as 'oppositional.' Many people even have memories of that in their school experience.

To me, the idea that Alex is always shown as completely alone (sans Haley or grandparents), and that Sebastian is nearly always shown with friends when he's not being like... deeply moody in a goth way, was really fascinating to me. ConcernedApe was already working hard to say 'this isn't what you think it is' even within the game. Alex is the one who apologises to you for being so desperate and also unrealistic about his sporting/goth abilities. Sebastian is the one who already has a job and is incredibly social - he's in a band that regularly practices and even performs outside of his hometown, he regularly plays TTRPGs with friends, and he regularly goes to the bar and plays pool and hangs out with friends. He's not a 'loner nerd.' He is hands down the most popular and social person in Stardew Valley who you can romance, outside of Sam, who is the same amount of popular. Like, Sebastian is literally a socialite social butterfly who is successful and charismatic and rides a motorbike. Subversion pretty fucking successful on that trope :D

To me, the game gives us the set up to a bullies-to-lovers scenario just by giving us the trope, and then subverting the trope. I always kind of liked that, but could never imagine writing it, until I aged them up and had Sebastian and Alex both mentally kind of growing up a little.

master class trifecta muse of doom mr qi muse of life wizard and lord of life farmer WHEN (breaking the rules a little bit here but they were made to do that anyways so y'know <3) also YOU'RE RIGHT I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT KENT AND EVERYTHING WHAT IS WRONG WITH MEEE he really is the time player of all time dayum whereas sam deals with like the loneliness of the potential death of kent and everything and trying to still be there to support vincent through it so vincent feels less alone too i feel like sebastian feels loneliness through just the general isolation of himself from his family and feeling like they just don't understand him as a human being (and i always associated space as an aspect with isolation cuz of jade being all alone on her island so so far away from her friends and honestly never really letting go of that feeling even after everything and kanaya being a jade blood which is super rare, and having values and traits that go against what troll society deems as important like her interest in fashion and bright colours and gardening and the sun which also isolate her) like feeling lonely in a room full of people y'know plus sebastian and frogs. yeah. BUT ALSO i've read stuff about how knight players often are the ones helping to breed the genesis frog with the space player, so people have suggested if that they were a knight of space they'd have to do it all on their own. and sebastian is ALL about becoming self sufficient and moving away to the city to get away from it all so he can truly work to achieve who he wants to be. so giving him a classpect that inherently is so independent is just PERFECT. (also using space as his armor like you said GOD i'm so unwell about that actually) for the lunar sways and the whole antagonist/protagonist thing i think i was always shocked that characters like feferi and nepeta were derse dreamers, instead of vriska and gamzee being prospit but it's really easy to think of it as an antag/protag situation because of the black vs white royalty and how the moons themselves were presented as. like prospit was always framed as happier and nicer and derse was just more lonely and strict and political. thinking about how the carapacians actually just act like the moon they live on's sway...... god...... (black carapacians being derse dreamers and white carapacians being prospit dreamers.....) but about what you said about skaia clouds vs horrorterrors and the passive / active nature of them that's SO interesting to think about actually (like what if it affects how active or passive they are as players....... like a thief of light prospit dreamer (vriska) being more passive than a thief of light derse dreamer and so on......) god that makes so much sense actually, especially with information being so important in sburb as a game, so it'd make a TON of sense for that to play a role in deciding your lunar sway too (and i totally get what you're saying about the whole thought process thing dw) and back to the whole life/doom thing it's really interesting to think about how the life and doom players (haley and shane) are both prospit destruction classes who have such interesting character developments (haley coming to appreciate life and all of the little things in it and shane being. well. shane. LOL.) really hammers home the issues that the game tackles and discusses here on a symbolism level. to me at least!

but like god i could go on for hours about this actually and like psychoanalyze each individual character in depth more (but that would probably be ESSAYS long whoopsies!) god it'd also be really fun to draw all of them in their god-tier uniforms too.... (i'm just saying that it'd be REALLY funny to see haley in her bard pajamas and watch her lose it lol) but anyways i just love both of these pieces of media. maybe a bit too much. :3

First of all, this is SO awkward. Imagine sitting with your friend/boss and talking about losing your close friend but not because you want to, but because it's regulations and you have to. "I asked her to do it." Oh, Aaron. :( The insane responsibility that lays on his shoulders.

Honestly, idk about Derek, but I'd rather talk to some stranger. Aaron is sitting there more like his boss than his friend, and I, personally, would feel trapped. This is way too official, and if I were Derek and wanted to talk to Aaron, I'd do it in a different way.

Not to mention that everybody deals with grief differently, and this can be damaging. But speaking ahead, between Strauss and Aaron, I'd choose Aaron, too.

Case: happens. These two: on it. Together.

Random thought: Maybe they're checking out the crime scene first because they both have the most experience, out of the entire team? So then they can present the case to the team, including all important details, & understand what to look for next.

I gotta say, while at the beginning I enjoyed this show giving us more of cases than personal information on the characters, now I am absolutely craving personal affairs. Any piece of information canon can give me, I'll take and write down. I am getting through the cases just to get more on the characters.

It's been 14.5 months since my parents died, and only two days ago it randomly got me so much that I was choking on my tears. This scene is... a nice reminder. Often it's portrayed that you're supposed to 'move on' in 6 months max. Just like Aaron said, it's been a tough year, we'll get through this.

I love this show.

Aaron always seeing best in people, even when people don't deserve it. Maybe not this particular case, but it's true for him. Don't mind me if I'm gonna say it once again: he is so good. :(

I won't screenshot this, but I loved how Aaron went into the cafe, "I know you don't want to scare Sam, so they're gonna leave now. Bill, will you show them out please? Go." All of that without a bulletproof vest while a woman pulls a revolver at him. He's so fucking good at his job. No wonder he's good at politics, too.

Aaron talking to her with tears in his eyes, but actually talking to his team that tried their absolute best to save Emily (and also him, Jack, and Haley). "It's the day they failed." Oh the burden on their shoulders, but especially on Aaron's. ;____; Why are they making me cry when Emily isn't dead? "They'll move on, but they won't forget." That should be called 'moving forward'.

The team: refuses to talk to him (and for a good reason tbh). Aaron: Ok, I'm gonna do this another way!

"He was taken from you & that's not fair."

Who from the writing team decided that it's ok to go with this? To put this team through so much pain? I just wanna talk. Don't tell me there wasn't another way to hand on to Emily and wait until she comes back.

What's worse that Hotch HAS to keep going. He drags them on his back & still manages to keep himself together, without all the broken pieces of him falling apart (bc otherwise the team goes into Strauss' hands & Aaron can afford that since she'll make the situation even worse).

"We come in here & we talk to you. Where do you go? Where are you in all of this?" "The same place as you. Wishing she was here."

THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING ALL THIS TIME. Give him talk to Dave, you cowards! He deserves some time to grieve!

I'm still wondering though, does he know? What did they talk with JJ after Emily's surgery? If they don't explore this later, it's gonna be such a wasted potential.

no problem! i actually need a break from my essay anyway i wrote 4 pages and it took me 5 hours/made me stressed, so this is a good way to decompress for me!

kiki’s 2 heart event - standard, boring 2 heart event... enter pelican town on a sunny day anywhere from 9am to 4pm. you see kiki on her way out of pierre’s and her grocery bag breaks. you have 4 options:

ask “are you okay?” and help her (+30 friendship). kiki is embarrassed someone saw her, but says “thank you so much for helping me! that was pretty funny, wasn’t it? i guess i bought too much”

“i didn’t see anything” (no effect on friendship). kiki just laughs it off

ignore her/do nothing (no effect on friendship). kiki goes “...” before telling herself she’s so clumsy and running off

“wow, that was dumb of you.” (-50 friendship) kiki, trying to remain deadpan, responds “yeah, you’re right”

kiki’s 4 heart event - (similar to leah’s 4 heart event) enter kiki’s house when she’s there. for some reason, she doesn’t notice you entered and you hear someone else talking unintelligibly on the landline, but she isn’t responding. after a while, she hangs up without saying anything, notices you, and jumps, asking “have you been here the whole time?” you have 3 options:

lie and say “i just got here” (no effect on friendship). kiki sighs and says “oh, okay. that’s good”

"who was that?” (no effect on friendship). kiki goes “...” and tells you it was just an annoying telemarketer. then she asks if she can help you with anything

"are you okay?” (+20 friendship). kiki tells you she just got an unwanted call from someone she doesn’t want to talk to but doesn’t elaborate. she mentions being worried someone’s going to come over, then realizes you’re still there and laughs it off as a joke, trying to cover it up with a random fact about tulips

kiki’s 6 heart event - (similar to haley’s 6 heart event) enter the cindersap forest from 5pm to 9pm while it’s raining. kiki spots you (“!”) and asks for help, explaining her cat (ghost) ran away because she didn’t properly lock her door and the storm blew it open (this literally happened to me and my cat didn’t come home for 3 days LOL). she explains how important her cat is to her. you have 2 options:

"i’ll help you find him!” (+30 friendship)

“just get another cat?” (-30 friendship)

either way, you can walk around the cindersap forest and click on a bunch of shrubs. the cat will come out of one of them and you bring it back to her. kiki hugs you and says she felt too guilty to ask anyone else for help. she also points out because it was raining you should go back inside before you get sick, so she offers to walk you home 

also: fun fact the farmer replaces sebastian in here because this was something i wrote for him, but it feels like a good 6 heart one imo

kiki’s 8 heart event - done here!

kiki’s 10 heart event - (similar to emily and maru’s) you get a letter in the mail from kiki that says something along the lines “come by the forest tonight!” if you enter the cindersap forest from anytime between 7pm to 11pm ONLY during the summer you’ll trigger the event. it turns out she wanted to look at constellations with you and borrowed maru’s telescope. kiki starts talking about how she was figuring out how to make up for you finding her cat but didn’t want to do anything boring. you only have 1 option:

"wait, is this a date?” (no effect on friendship)

kiki gets MEGA embarrassed, explaining she thought it was obvious but isn’t going to be mad if you don’t like her. you now have 3 options:

"wait, i do like you!” (no effect on friendship). kiki goes, “seriously? you mean it? i’m so happy!” and you resume the date. before the cutscene ends, she has you look at some stars and explains the story of altair & vega which originated in china (“have you heard about the story of altair and vega? it’s about a cowherd and a weaver girl who fell in love but were separated by a river which is supposed to be the milky way. it’s sad, but once a year a bunch of magpies form a bridge and they reunite. romantic, right?”)

“i’m sorry, i don’t like you” (no effect on friendship). kiki tells you she understands, explaining you’re just as good of a friend and will be fine

“ew” (-30 on friendship). kiki sighs and tells her she better return maru’s telescope

as for cleo i have no idea if cleo would be a marriageable npc... we’ll see. let’s get to her heart events though (excluding her 10 heart event)

cleo’s 2 heart event - enter cleo’s room whenever she’s in there. cleo asks why you didn’t knock out of annoyance, but gets over it to complain she smells like fish (because she’s a fisherwoman LOL). you have 2 options:

“if you hate the smell of fish so much, why are you a fisherman?” (no effect on friendship). cleo explains she picks up fishing because that’s the 1 condition kiki has if she wants to stay with her free of rent. she complains about her cousin for trying to teach her some work ethic, then goes on to say she can’t wait til she and whatever sam’s band is called gets famous and she can stop fishing

“not my problem” (-30 friendship). cleo gets irritated and tells you “look, i didn’t ask to be a fisherwoman, okay? i hate farming and mining doesn’t make that much money. why are you even in here?”

cleo’s 4 heart event - enter pelican town any time during the day when it’s sunny. you overhear haley berating cleo with a magazine (even though they’re friends), who asks why she never mentioned she modeled. cleo gets annoyed and tells haley to back off because she doesn’t want to talk about it. you have 2 options:

do absolutely nothing (-30 friendship). haley finally walks off; cleo looks at you and goes, “what are you looking at? don’t listen to stuff that isn’t any of your business”

tell haley to stop (+30 friendship). haley sighs and apologizes to cleo for being nosey and leaves. cleo awkwardly thanks you and says something offhand like “i guess you’re cool” before running off

make up an excuse to pull cleo aside like “cleo, i don’t get how to use my fishing rod, can you help?” (+50 friendship). cleo thanks you for not making a huge scene and sighs. she explains haley figured out how used to be a model and wouldn’t stop asking why she quit. she also mentions she knows you probably want to know and claims it’s just “stupid personal garbage” and “the modeling industry is shit”

cleo’s 6 heart event - enter cleo’s room whenever she’s in there again. you find her mumbling to herself out of annoyance before she notices you and greets you. then, she explains she just figured out that everyone in her old band seems to be doing really well and she’s worried they’re going to get a gig for the band SHE started. you have 2 options:

ask “what band?” (no effect on friendship). cleo explains her mom wouldn’t let her go to a gig for the band to punish her, leaving them without a bassist. she says when she snuck out to go, the lead guitarist had immediately replaced her and decided to kick her out of the band, which is why cleo ran away out of humiliation. plus, she thinks their new music sounds like shit 

“who cares? you don’t need them!” (+30 friendship). cleo goes silent before telling you you’re SO right and tells you that good-for-nothing guitarist that kicked her out wasn’t even that good of a guitarist!

“maybe you were a bad bassist” (-50 friendship). cleo gets defensive and tells she was a perfectly good bassist. then she sighs and says she wonders if she’s not as good as she thinks she is and should just stick to fishing, before telling you to get out

cleo’s 8 heart event - (similar to sam’s 8 heart event) cleo shows up to your door when you wake up and gives you a flyer for a battle of the bands in zuzu city. the next day, you go to the venue with cleo and she realizes she’s going up against her old band before freaking out. she tells you she doesn’t know what to do because she’s scared she’ll mess up and prove them right. you have 3 options:

"you can do this!” (+50 friendship). cleo tells you that’s cheesy but you’re right. she goes on to say “screw all of them! i don’t care!”

“who cares? show them what they’re missing!” (+50 friendship). cleo gets pumped and agrees with you before saying, “ugh, what was i thinking? i don’t care what any of them think”

"don’t be a baby” (no effect on friendship). cleo goes “ugh” before begrudgingly admitting you’re right

either way, you get to hear them play like in sam’s 8 heart event. it should correspond with whatever music genre you chose for him in his own events. sam’s band also wins and cleo makes fun of her old band. the lead guitarist gets annoyed and tries to fight with her over it. you have 2 options:

“get him cleo!” (no effect on friendship). cleo punches the lead guitarist off the screen the way pierre punches morris at the community center

“ignore him, he’s just a loser” (no effect on friendship). cleo says she guesses taking the higher road is better and doesn’t wanna mess up her hands

regardless of what option you pick, at the end of the cutscene, cleo thanks your farmer for encouraging her not to giving up and how she couldn't have done it w/o your help
