like??? to think that with no outside interference, jc & wwx’s relationship might not have gone to ruin like it did. jgy straight up ADMITS that it probably wouldn’t have, had he not meddled.

and!!! this bit from earlier!!!

jc asked jyl to let wwx name their nephew AFTER defecting. after leaving the family as rudely as he could, jc still stood there with open arms to welcome him back. right before this, they were joking and laughing at each other, complaining that jc’s injury was much more significant than the one he gave wwx. jiang cheng doesn’t hate him, exactly, and he’s still trying to figure it out at this point.

then, here:

HERE, wwx finally gets it. he sees a bridge back to jiang cheng, finally gets a glimpse of what boils under jc’s skin. wwx knows, and dare i say he sympathizes. if he gets the chance, he’ll be able to fucking talk to his once best friend.

and then as we get to the finale???

jiang cheng lets his fucking soul out. he so, SO badly wants his best friend back, he’s feeling beyond fucking betrayed at this point. he’s floundering in shallow water, waiting for wei wuxian to be the hand that pulls him back up.

jin guangyao destroyed their bond so severely that jc doesn’t even know where to start, or where to end. he’s hoping for a chance, for fucking anything, but clearly hope has been a four-letter word for him and all he can do is raise his nephew. if a chance came, he probably wouldn’t take it out of fear, of guilt, of self-loathing. or, maybe he would, and maybe he’d start to piece himself back together with two sets of family hands to help him.

this post is clearly not coherent bc it’s almost midnight but im just. so fucking enamored by jiang cheng as a whole and his relationship with wei wuxian in any form. hes just so precious to me
