Main Takes from My Hero Academia Season 4
So now that episode 25 had aired, Season 4 of My Hero Academia has come to an end. Which means a long wait till the next one. Personally I binged most of it (having started binge watching a few months ago and stopping at Season 3 since Season 4 was still near midway), I got my dates muddled due to Self-Isolation and thought we were on Ep 24 instead of 23, so I’ve had to wait for the last 2, but it was fine since the final 2 are more backdoor mini-arcs to the next season.
Initially when S4 ended I wanted to do a full review, but I found myself writing tldr levels of stuff while still in the first arc, so I’m just doing quick bullet takes
Sadly, some spoilers are unavoidable, and even I was unable to be spoiled from S4 and manga stuff thanks to recommendation algorithms and haphazard/not-so-cryptic comments in threads. However, I don’t wanna spread that so if you’re not caught up on Season 4 watch it, Spoilers are below.
So Season 4 was wild, and exciting and did a mighty job swelling my stone of a heart XD But the main things I took from S4 was as follows
Obviously, Protect Eri at Every Cost in Every Currency
The Fast Tracking of All Might’s time coming to a close feels intentional as if to constantly put us on edge with the fact that Deku will be without his father figure
Never let a subordinate attack the main villain
Buff Tintin Mirio and Deku are the perfect buddy system
Team Fatgum is a wholesome well-rounded unit
We should’ve seen at least some of Tokoyami’s work study if you were gonna hype up Hawks 20 episodes prior
People think Chisaki was old enough to have a 6 year old kid, though age does seem to be deceptive as Gentle and La Brava show
Ryukyu, Nejire, Uraraka, Bubble Girl and Tsu could’ve had more active screentime, and Deku’s mother should’ve gotten a smidge given how Deku was in a literal Yakuza raid
Tamaki’s Quirk is awesome but poses a lot of morally questionable hypotheses on how far it can go, also Suneater is a badass nickname
Mina can involve breakdancing into any situation
Kirishima is a strong and brave man who deserves all the praise he got
It was also great to see that not everyone has the ‘Legs moved before thinking’ moment and it doesn’t diminish a person if they don’t have it, it’s also nice to see someone look up to someone else other than All Might, being number 1 doesn’t mean you’re everyone’s favourite.
No homo but Fitgum got them features
Toga is much stronger than I gave her credit for, I mean I knew she was strong but she stabbed Aizawa without her quirk while wrapped in his scarf threads!
Mirio proves that you don’t need a quirk to be a hero, it just helps a bit, that boy didn’t give up
Chisaki’s plan was...odd actually, Eri can rewind sure but he can literally break down and reshape people, couldn’t he just mess up someone’s physiology and de-quirk them?
100% Deku is a force (though I reserve the disdain that Chisaki went for the cliché ‘big monster but my main body hangs out of it’ route)
Never sleep on the League of Villains
Uraraka and maybe Tsu were probably more traumatized than they let on, it’s not easy to get over holding a dying man in your arms
How do you hide a motherfucker as big as Gigantomachia in a forest!? He has a literal radio around his neck. Also I feel like Kurogiri could’ve escaped if he wanted to...
How did no-one think that Camie was compromised she acts completely different to Toga and she showed her quirk, wouldn’t they know what her quirk was from her file anyway?
That teacher needs therapy, and a long holiday
Seiji and Present Mic should do all the commentary
Bakugo has good leadership skills, but the license course didn’t really resolve his public abrasiveness
I do wanna see more of cross-school activities, more Inasa but also more Ms Joke and her lot
Aoyama was never gonna be the traitor, the dude is far too Cheesy
I was actually glad to see the Pussycats, and that Ragdoll is well now even if quirkless, for a while I thought she would be a vegetable or worse a Nomu
Sato’s image of Bakugo and Todoroki in a 70s Disco movie is hilarious and I will fight those who disagree
Be still my Kamijirou heart, the boy gave up a Maid Café to encourage her love for music, also her voice is beautiful
I still can’t stand Monoma...
Hatsume should just mark herself down as Deku’s official support mechanic, like his Lucius Fox because she just comes in clutch with what he needs
Deku should’ve really thought about using 20% in small bursts on his own, it’s okay he didn’t but let’s not forget that the boy has a brain on him
Gentle is the complete opposite of Chisaki; while Chisaki had the intimidation and evil plan he lacked a lot of personality outside of ‘Don’t Touch Me’ and ‘Yakuza Rights’, Gentle has more a nuisance who wants to be famous, but he has personality oozing out of every pore
Gentle is also proof that ‘legs moving without thinking’ doesn’t always work, had he saved that person his life would be much different just like how Deku’s life would’ve been different if All Might didn’t step in. But sadly he was subjected to a vicious environment where everyone rejected him. Hopefully he can get a second chance to be good, because even some of his criminal activities had good intentions in them
The school festival episode was just euphoric fun, also Bakugo’s ‘we won’ face was great
The new top 10 is interesting, but Ryukyu was robbed. She fought a monster of the Hassakai and lost placement!? I’m also surprised Nighteye wasn’t in the Top 10 given how powerful his quirk is and how he was able to bring heroes of multiple agencies together. Glad Jeanist is alive I do worry a little about Kamui though, he keeps getting mentioned for his ascent as a ‘promising young hero’, also people really thirst for the tan bunny
I cannot get a read on Hawks, his quirk is cool though
This Liberation front seems key for next season
Todoroki’s hot sister is still hot...what do you mean that’s not relevant!?
High End is pretty dangerous, but heroes should really aim for the head with these things (I do like the little touch that Nomu abilities differ by their colour)
Endeavor’s redemption arc is earned, it’s still not there yet but it’s important not to fast track it, he’s owning up to his mistreatment rather than expecting forgiveness and that is a good way to build to it, he had his United States of Smash moment and it was a gloriously animated fight
This spells bad things for the hierarchy though that the Number 1 and 2 had to work together to stop a monster sent by other villains, it diminishes the chart structure and Dabi knows that...plus he probably wanted to stick it to his old man because he’s obviously a Todoroki
Did not expect to see other One for All holders! What does it mean!? And why is Deku just a hand and half a head? Is it just a show that he’s only 20% at his power? Season 5 is gonna be crazy

AU: Yui finds out she’s a Sakamaki
Tumblr media
Okay so I’m just gonna guess that you mean Yui is only a Sakamaki and the other two families are gonna react to it just like the Sakamakis.
Sakamaki:
- It was a normal night until Karlheinz decides to make a rare drop in and his kids are not happy to see him as always and Yui is just polite to him like always.
- Then he drops the bomb.
- “Ah, daughters are so much more welcoming than sons. I’ve been missing out on the gentleness of a little girl.”
- The brothers stare at him like ‘wtf you old geezer?’.
- casually states “That is why I came here tonight, Yui is your half-sister since she came from a different person than your mothers.”
- “E-Eh? But I’m human...I don’t have fangs or cravings for blood...What...?”
- “Your mother was human, Seiji prevented you from turning into a vampire and so you haven’t gone through the proper stages of developing into one.”
- Now the boys hate their father more.
- Ever since then, they’ve been acting really weird.
- They don’t really attack her blood anymore.
- When they try, they just kinda chicken out which makes Yui even more confused.
- Laito has been more, touchy?
- “Everyone’s been so weird lately, don’t you think so Imouto-chan?” He was hugging her from behind as she was sitting on her bed. “I-Imouto-chan? I’m the same age as you...” “Not really if you don’t count vampire age.” Laito laughed as he suddenly kissed the pale blonde’s ear which jolts her up and she got up and turned towards him with a shocked look. “H-Hey, I’m your sister!” “I know, but it gives us a chance for me to be a little bit nicer to you. Wouldn’t you like that, Imouto-chan?” Laito got up and suddenly pinned her softly to the violet colored wall and gave off a dangerous smile, as if nothing changed about their positions except he was being strangely more gentle. Immediately Ayato came into the room and dragged out his brother.
- “Oi, if this pervert messes with you just tell someone...” “Eh? You’re so mean Ayato-kun~” “Shut up you pervert.”
- Subaru has been distancing himself away from Yui...
- Yui decides to face him in the garden, but it doesn’t work out right and he yells in her face to leave him alone and walks off to leave a confused Yui alone. But when he’s far away enough he sighs and rubs his temples...
- “My first love can’t be my sister...Fuck that old man...”
- Reiji would probably act a bit more decent towards her but he’s still the same, like pointing out mannerisms and such as he would do for his other brothers. He’ll be nice occasionally towards her but like once in blue moon but his sadistic nature towards Yui as lowered a bit...
- “-Don’t sit like that, you’re a lady and one of the only ones who decides to follow table manners.”
- Basically her mom now.
- Shuu really doesn’t care...Like at all.
- “Oh...Is it weird if I bite you then?”
- So he still acts the same towards Yui.
- Ayato changed a lot, like at one point he’ll be snarky and arrogant like any other day but when Yui comes in he instantly shuts up and it amazes Reiji.
- “Yui, I might need you to come into the living room. Ayato is being disruptive.”
- “Ayato-kun ,did I do something to make you upset?” “No it’s...I...Ah, shut up and leave me alone!”
- As if his highkey salt towards Karlheinz could be any more salty.
- “Y-You don’t have to do those things, I’m your sister now!” “But I don’t like you as a sister and I never will.” Still possessive as he is in denial.
- One day Yui overheard Kanato and Teddy’s ‘conversation’.
- “Since Yui-san is my sister, I don’t think a wedding dress is appropriate for her...Don’t you think so Teddy? Maybe she’ll be more comfortable in a Sunday dress...”
- Still wants to turn her into a doll.
- There are also those times where they bite her and completely forget that they’re half-siblings.
Mukami:
- They’re not happy with the news either.
- Well at least she’s not directly related to them. (Since they’re adopted)
- Ruki wouldn’t change really, probably more homie to Yui since she’s their technical cousin. But he’s still the Ruki she knew, although he had his times he would forget about her relations.
- Yuuma would probably invite Yui to the garden just talk about stuff and it made her really happy that he wasn’t treating her poorly much.
- “Ah shit...I like the neet’s sister...”
- Kou would probably try to get Yui to spill some things about the Sakamakis he can use against them as blackmail. His dislike for the Sakamakis is still there but he really can’t bring himself to hate Yui after all of the things she did, so he labled her the ‘likable Sakamaki’. He’s still a liar towards her though.
- “C’mooon tell me something you know about Laito~!” “But I really don’t know anything!” “You guys are siblings, you should know something!”
- When his bipolar switch is on he’d probably yell at her stuff about ‘Why would I be okay with a Sakamaki’ something like that and he’d hella regret it afterwards. But Yui’s used to it so it was a reminder of sorts.
- Azusa wouldn’t really think much less of Yui.
- “Ah...Kanato-san...Might be angry if I do this...” *bites anyway*
- “Say...Hello for me...Yui-san....”
- 2/4 think: “Ugh, she’s that person sister...I’ll do it just to aggravate him.”
Tsukinami:
- Carla just looks at Yui and blinked. “Oh...That’s nice, I guess.”
- No hesitation to bite, he gots ta cleanse.
- “Your blood probably is impossible to cleanse now I found out you’re somewhat related to them.”
- Like Kou, she’s the ‘tolerable Sakamaki’. Not much change between their relationship.
- Shin on the other hand would use this information for new forms of teasing.
- “-Perhaps you’re hiding a secret lust in you? If you’re related to that idiot, you must be one like him!” “Hm? You’re not sleeping? If you’re related to that rock, shouldn’t you follow your big brother’s footsteps~?” “Ah, don’t be so full of yourself. No wonder you’re his sister.”
- They literally don’t care about that.
- Occasionally nice but still treat her like shit.
- “Wait...Does this mean we’re technically you’re uncles?”
Summary:
- Karlheinz is hated a little bit more.
- Yui was kinda happy about knowing she had an actually family, but not in these circumstances.
- Some in denial...
- She tried call Shuu and Reiji Onii-san once: “Please don’t do that.” “I know you follow family traditions, but you do not have to force yourself to do that”
- Kou and Yuuma cracked up laughing hearing that.
- And so did Shin.
- Yui’s mom is probably long gone dead knowing how Karlheinz treats his wives, but still wishes to know about her and what she was like.
- If Yui decides to stay human, things will be like normal (whatever normal is in a vampire household. If Yui becomes a vampire, she’ll need a lot of training and education about the urges, powers and things like that of a vampire...Someone’s bound to stuff her mouth with blood because she’s too nice and gentle to actually do that to a person.
- Dear god someone help her.
Idk if you wanted Kino or if I even did this right, but here’s what you got. Also be specific on what you want, thanks for requesting!

I love watching Anime and just recently dive in back to reading manga that I found online. Although there are good mangas that are still ongoing, I always check on the completed section because I just don’t like to wait and prolong my agony. Anyways, I just found out two weeks ago about the manga “Love so Life” by Kouchi Kaede at Mangakakalot and just dive in to the story after reading the description.
Tumblr media
“Shiharu Nakamura is a high school girl who works at a daycare where twins Aoi and Akane Matsunaga go. The twins are in custody of their uncle Seiji, because their father abandoned them after his wife suddenly died. One day when Seiji goes to pick up the twins from day care, he notices that they are particularly attached to Shiharu in comparison to the other workers. He hires Shiharu as their personal babysitter as he is very busy with work.” (cited from wikipedia)
So basically, the story revolves around Shiharu Nakamura and her experiences beyond than just babysitting. It talks about her encounters on what is like to be a part of a family aside from the orphanage where she is from, the realizations that she discovers along the way as she became attached to the twins, and of course discovering what is it like to love someone. Hmmmm… although there is a really serious thing going on about her and Seiji (which it took a loooooooooot of chapters before he finally confessed and for Shiharu to realize and acknowledge her own feeling), I like it how it didn’t overlap the story and have it very light.
Now, on we go with my own review:
Aoi and Akane Matsunaga
Let just make this one clear: who doesn’t love these bundle of fluffiness? I literally want to dive inside the manga and just pinch does chubby cheeks! I cannot start anything without mentioning these two. They really are the star of the manga alright!
Aoi and Akane both shows what we are and our siblings in daily life (they’re just cuter given that they are toddlers). They have their similarities (food, animals, shiharu, toys) and differences (wherein Aoi is mature than Akane as an example). They always come to the end of the term to compromise on the things that they want to do, at the same time fight like some WWII wrestlers when they both like something that they don’t want to share, when someone starts a fight, or when just one tried to outsmart the other one. A lot of scenes that I can think of:
Yogurt incident –Akane (being a big eater) finishes eating her yogurt and tries to take some from Aoi. Aoi in return, tries to bite the whole face of Akane
Baby Akira in the daycare center –Akane wants to play with baby Akira but Aoi just push her aside to have his turn.
Shiharu –Aoi always pushes Akane off from Shiharu so he would be the one sitting on the lap.
And even they fight, they are always there for each other. Here are some cute scenes:
Tumblr media
Broken Doll incident –where Aoi was the witness (I laugh so hard at this chapter)! Mana happens to like Akane’s doll and got themselves into a little tug-of-war. The doll’s head got detached from its body (Aoi witnessing the crime!). As Akane tried to retrieve the doll, Aoi bitten the Mana’s arm as revenge on what she did.
Doing an errand –Akane and Aoi were on their way to the convenient store when they saw a big dog in the way. Akane got scared, sat down and started to cry. Aoi sat in front and just told his sister “let’s go”. Holding hand and making sure his sister was fine, they continue their journey to the convenient store.
Moving out ‘day’ –This scene really made me cry. It was the scene when Akane realized what moving away actually means and started to make tantrums and not going. Shiharu cried and apologize to the twins because she can’t do anything. Being the matured one of the two, Aoi takes out his hand to his sister and just said “Let’s go”.
Between the two, Aoi was the matured one in the two and I just can’t help but to feel heartbroken especially on the chapter that talks about them moving to their grandparents’ house. While Akane was just being the usual carefree and cheerful twin who is excited about moving because she still doesn’t know what actually ‘moving out’ actually means, Aoi was the gloomy one and was noticed immediately by the elders and saying how sad it was for a kid as young as him knows the pain already from the concept of ‘moving’.
Aside from showing siblings relationship, it shows really what it is for a life of a toddler. Unlike adults who knows about right and wrongs, and consequences towards one owns action, toddlers don’t have that concept yet because all they know are eat, play and sleep. They imitate actions and words of others (that is why we should always be mindful when there is a kid around), and when they grasp already the meaning of things, they act it out and try to correct themselves.
  Relationship is on the sideline
Tumblr media
Although it is clearly shown in the manga (yet the confession is on the later part), there is already a thing going on between Shiharu and Seiji in the earlier chapters. One nice thing about this manga is that they keep it PG and just on the sideline of the story. I don’t want to say the cliché lines like ‘age doesn’t matter’ because of their very big age gap, or the tag line ‘they are meant to be’ because it is like a given fact plus some flashbacks that they happened to meet before.
I just like the idea that aside about thinking about not just his image and the possible thought coming inside Shiharu’s mind, Seiji respects Shiharu. He is just merely confessing that he has fallen in love with her for a long time and just let her continue to live her life. He did not pressure her, and even suggest trying to date guys with her age.
In relationships, respect is very important. Aside from trust and other values, it is one of the reasons that I believe that you truly love someone. Also, as the person that is receiving this amount of respect, it is overwhelming to know that someone loves you more than you actually think.
Seize the Moment.
Tumblr media
It is important to enjoy every moment that we have in your lifetime. Regardless if you are still a toddler who does anything and everything, a young adult who still tries to discover what is it like to be independent, or matured and working individuals, let’s just try and enjoy our life. It is important to know what are the right and wrong, the consequences of our actions, but it is not a hindrance for us to do what we want and love.
For Shiharu, although she is still in high school, she already thinks and acts maturely but that should not stop her from doing things she wants to do. It is amazing to see that she is happy for little things and the time when she is with the twins. Through her, I see what actually Seizing the Moment really means.
Seizing the moment is not just about enjoying the moment, but living the moment. You would able to appreciate the whole experience when you are not living and feeling the moment.
Tumblr media

So yeah, I guess this is all my review for now. Like usual, I have a lot of things that I want to say but I cannot fully express it yet.
If you haven’t read the manga, or not a fond of manga, give a shot in reading it. I assure you it is fun. Oh and by the way, there is an ongoing sequel of the story.
‘till next time!
