Gonna do a quick headcount of things that SHOULD happen before the end of RWBY. No I will not be leaving out things that would be consequences for stuff from seasons ago, just because it'd feel awkward and clunky at this point doesn't mean it still isn't important because it never WAS addressed. And also note that some of these are obviously more important than others, but they all still should happen.
Ruby and Blake should have preferably more than one moment focused on building their friendship.
Members of RWBYJNROQ who don't have established dynamics need at least small relationship building such as Qrow and Blake, Ren and Weiss, Weiss and Oscar, etcetera.
What happened with Pietro and Maria in V8 needs addressed.
Someone needs to talk to Pietro about Penny.
Blake and Yang need to have a conversation where Blake opens up about her past, they address what happened when Blake left, and they talk about Yang's hesitancy to be apart.
Blake and Sun need to have a conversation (if only in passing) about her being with Yang and establishing that they're still friends.
Nora and Ren need time apart and then need to figure out where their relationship is going.
Nora needs a strong character arc outside of Ren.
Emerald needs more work done in her redemption and needs to face some of what she's done and the people she should logically be emotional about leaving behind.
We need to establish the fallout of Atlas going down and the logically-must-be-there distrust that would sprout up around Hunters, the Military, etcetera.
We need to know what will happen to the Schnees and how they're adjusting to things.
Consequences of revealing the Maidens and magic to the general public.
Someone outside of Ruby and freaking Jaune should grieve Penny such as Winter and the Ace Ops.
Weiss needs to be concerned with helping and/or connecting with Whitley.
Oscar and Ozpin's merge needs to be addressed and talked about and potentially happen or they need to find a work around.
Team RWBY + J should tell their friends what happened in the Ever After.
We need to address the Ruby stuff in V9, Ruby's recovery cannot be super quick, WBY and Jaune especially should step up and admit their part in it.
We need to address what's been happening in Vale.
We need to find out where the last two Relics are and the group needs to work to protect them from Salem.
We need to get the Relics in Salem's hands out of her hands.
We need to know who the Summer Maiden is.
We need to have the group realize that Raven is the Spring Maiden and address Yang's lie.
God knows I hate when he gets focus, but we need Jaune to deal with what happened to him and specifically give some focus to him reuniting with his team and them reacting to him mentally being like forty.
We need to deal with the whole 'once the Relics are united, the gods will come back and wipe out humanity if it isn’t perfect' thing.
People still need to learn to be sympathetic to Oz and not treat him like an enemy.
We need to learn about and deal with whatever Mercury and Tyrian are doing in Vacuo.
We need to establish what's happening with the Ace Ops and Happy Huntresses.
We need to figure out what's happening with Qrow and deal with how he handled Ruby and Yang supposedly 'dying.'
We need to establish what life is like for the Atlas/Mantle refugees and what Vacuo is doing for them.
We need to establish Theodore as a character and why we the audience should trust or like him.
We still need members of Oz's inner circle to emotionally deal with what happened with Ironwood.
We need characters that should by all rights be a bit more important to get brought back in and be at least a little involved such as Glynda, Taiyang, Ilia, and Sun and Neptune.
We need to know what really happened to Summer and deal with the fallout of whatever it is.
Yang and Ruby need something to heal the rift between them.
We need people to figure out a way to defeat Salem.
We need to have people struggling to get people together to fight Salem and deal with possible conflicts surrounding that (considering the fact that having an army was considered a sign of pure evil when it was Ironwood)
We need to defeat Salem.
If CRWBY intends to bring in the Crown from the ATF/BTD books, they need to be established and dealt with as well.
This is all just off the top of my head! Yes, some of these things seem like they're going to be (badly) addressed in passing from the little promo that was originally supposed to end V9, but we don’t know how much of that will change and I personally am unsatisfied with almost everything in it and still think we need further exploring for all that stuff. (And no, I'm not considering Justice League or RWBY Beyond to be good enough if the main series doesn't make sense or have emotional payoff.)
My point here is... There is so much left to do in RWBY (arguably that should've been done AGES ago,) that I'm having a really hard believing much of it will be done. And I fear that whatever they do try to deal with will just be jam packed into the next season at the speed of light with no real payoff and it'll wind up badly done or unsatisfying because of it. Especially if they try to introduce loads more in V10 the way they did in V9.
RWBY is for sure the show with good concepts, because while I was writing out that list, I was sitting here thinking about how some of it could be pretty good and impactful in the hands of good writers. But it's also the show of no emotional payoff, and I seriously doubt that this next season is gonna deliver.

Elves: Pantheons
Link: Disclaimer regarding D&D "canon" & Index [tldr: D&D lore is a giant conflicting mess. Larian's lore is also a conflicting mess. There's a lot of lore; I don't know everything. You learn to take what you want and leave the rest. Frankly these posts may get updated now and then. etc]
Physiology and quirks | Names & Clans and Houses || Pan-Cultural things: Social life | Time and 'Growing Up an Elf' | Homes | Language | Art | Entertainment | Technology || Elven 'Subraces' still a wip || Philosophy and Religion & Pantheons || Half-elves | [WIP]
Right. Religion part 2: the bastards the pointy eared ones worship. Who needs this many gods?? This is one of those posts that's so long I got disoriented editing it, so it might be a touch messy.
Also it's long. L o n g.
The Sylvan Gods The og elven pantheon on Toril; Non-elven archfey warlocks may also get something out of this if you want a patron.
The Seldarine + The Asathalfinare The elven gods and the disagreements about them.
The Dark Seldarine The exiles and the pack of weirdoes they got grouped in with along the way.
(Corellon, Lolth and Eilistraee are cleric options in BG3 so in theory I should be giving them fuller write ups and they're only getting brief attention here.)
The Sylvan Gods (Seelie):
The original pantheon of the elves of Toril.
The fey and the fey gods have strong ties to elves and their ancestral gods as well, being cousins of sorts; while they share 'blood' with the elven gods, the first elves to come to Toril worshipped the Sylvan gods as their pantheon, not the Seldarine. Even in modern times many elves, especially the green and copper elves, live and worship alongside the fey as neighbours 'often [including] prayers to other faerie powers when worshiping the Seldarine.' Likewise the fey serve and worship the Seldarine as well as their own lords.
The Seldarine are strongly allied with and mingle freely with other fey powers, especially the Seelie Court, I haven't seen any specific mention of worship of the Unseelie fey who obviously are antagonistic counterparts in the fashion of the Dark Seldarine and the Seldarine, as well as being enemies to the Seldarine. I've seen no mention of any of the Dark Seldarine being allied with the Queen of Air and Darkness, the Unseelie Queen, so I assume that the elves in general, including dark elves, do not traffic with the evil fey. On the reverse, the Seelie fey don't seem to be actively opposed to the Dark Seldarine, although that doesn't mean they're on good terms.
The Seelie Queen Titania works closely with Corellon where their goals overlap, though Erevan Illesere is the closest aligned with the Sylvan Gods and may have actually given birth to one of them.
The two pantheons co-exist with perfect ease, and there’s not stigma against elves venerating deities of either pantheon and many elves include prayers to archfey while honouring the Seldarine.
Just like the Seldarine, the fey courts are technically the rulers of their mortal children and their primary concern is the wellbeing of their people and the realms they live in.
Elven fey heritage remains strong, and elves and fey both have a shared and vested interest in maintaining the magic and nature they live enmeshed in. But even the elves are generally barred from the inner circles of sacred fey matters and they don’t get invited to secret seelie court meetings on occasions where the archfey meet on the prime, although they do gather together for some holy revels like Midsummer.
4e and 5e ‘demote’ the fey deities to archfey, however the differences between powerful planars like archfey, archdevils, demon lords and deities is extremely blurred really. Some deities are exiled archdevils, Lolth is a demon lord and a goddess, Corellon can serve as the archfey patron to a feypact warlock, etc. Still, mechanically I imagine that in 5e a worshipper and servant of, say, Verenestra is going to be a warlock rather than a cleric on average.
The fey deities consist of the inner circle known as the Seelie Court and the allied gods who are not formally a part of the court but are still related, as well as the Torilian god Lurue.
This isn't all of them, but these were the ones who are classified as gods and whose lore overlaps with elves at some point:
Yathaghera. The Winged Queen [Lurue]
‘The Unicorn is a symbol of hope, joy, salvation, and protection for the needy, forlorn, and forsaken. Life is to be relished and lived with laughter. Quests are to be taken on a dare and gifts to be made on a whim. Impossible dreams are to be pursued for the sheer wonder of the possibility of their completion. Everyone, no matter how unique, is to be praised for their strengths and comforted in their weaknesses. Evil melts the quickest in the face of a rapier wit and unshackled joy. Search for the unicorn and in pursuit find happiness.’
Symbol: a unicorn, rampant against a silver crescent moon.
The goddess Lurue the Unicorn Queen’s elven aspect, also part of the Faerûnian pantheon, who is seen as the ruler of pegasi and unicorns on Evermeet. Believed to be a daughter of Selûne, Lurue is the goddess of talking animals, adventure and whimsy, an adopter of outcasts (and literal lost souls, Lurue is apparently known to seek those who die alone and faithless and take them with her in her wanderings around Toril), and she never abandons her faithful when they need her. Visitors from other DnD settings have thought her to be the Torilian aspect of the fey deity of the same nature, Eachthighern, or else his daughter by Selûne, but Lurue has no idea who that is and claims no relation.
Eachthighern, Lord of Unicorns and Pegasi Has a couple of origin myths, one of which is that he's Erevan's son. Eachthigern apparently has no presence on Toril, though sages familiar with other worlds have hypothesised in-universe that he is the father of Lurue or that the divine unicorn of the Moonshaes, Kamerynn is his Torilian aspect. The god is known to appear when fey and elven communities are battling against evil in order to heal their wounded. Torilian elves are aware of his existence, and believe that the unicorns of Evermeet are his descendants. Unicorns are sacred creatures in elven faiths, and harming or killing them is an act of sacrilige met with death. Those chosen by unicorns as riders are treated with religious levels of reverence.
Portfolio: unicorns, healing, loyalty and protection Symbol: a unicorn horn
Titania, the Faerie Queen; the Queen of Light; the Summer Queen Head of the pantheon. Titania’s known to come across as flighty and silly, which covers well for the fact that she’s the strategist of the pantheon. Perfectly calm and borderline impossible to piss off (succeeding is a Bad Idea). Known to take mortal lovers. Portfolio: magic, friendship, and the fey and their realms Symbol: white diamond, containing a blue star at its centre
Oberon, the Lord of Beasts A warrior and protector god. Possibly Titania’s consort, sometimes called a king, though he doesn’t actual hold the title and if he is with Titania it’s an open on-off relationship and both flirt with mortals. And anything else that catches their attention. Portfolio: nature, wild places, animals Symbol: white stag
Verenestra, the Oak Princess Goddess of dryads. Verenestra is vain and flighty and generally shuns the company of other powers of love and beauty; the elven goddess Hanali is the only one who has managed to coax her into friendly terms. Verenestra is known for seducing mortals (and then growing bored of them, though at least leaving them with some form of gift). Portfolio: dryads, charm, beauty Symbol: a silver mirror
Skerrit, the Forest Walker God of centaurs and satyrs. A hunter and preserver of a healthy balance within an ecosystem. Skerrit in particular is noted to have a cult amongst the Tel’Quessir. Portfolio: community and natural balance Symbol: an oak growing from an acorn
Emantiensien, god of treants The treant god is known to hear the music played by elves, and hears all the hidden knowledge of the world, remembering all he has ever learnt. Though it will take him a long time to translate them into a manner of communication mortals understand. He speaks few words, but what he says is worth listening to. Domains: treants, trees, deep and hidden magic Symbol: a pair of acorns
----
The Elven Pantheon:
The elven pantheon is the Seldarine – 'the Siblings of the Woods,' consisting of many elven powers, which in most traditions are led by Corellon Larethian. Some say Corellon rules with Sehanine as his consort and second in command, some say Sehanine is one of his daughters, moon elves say his consort is Angharradh who rules alongside him as an equal. Corellon's original consort was Lolth, who Corellon felt ruled with him as an equal and Lolth felt she was being treated as a toy kept in a pretty cage, and it certainly seems/seemed that Corellon’s heart lies far more strongly with his former lover than anybody else (Corellon’s feelings for Lolth were/are… a touch obsessive.) According to other traditions the Seldarine are all actually siblings. Some undercurrents, and a comment from Ed Greenwood, suggests they might be a messy polycule.
Not all elves worship or acknowledge the entire pantheon, nor do they worship them the same or place the same level of emphasis on them. These divisions exist both within larger cultural umbrellas as well as within house politics - some elven houses revere a larger pantheon, and others cherrypick who they worship sometimes to the point of henotheism. More obscure members of the Seldarine are occasionally remembered in specific locations or minorities, such as Vandria Gilmadrith, the other child of Corellon and Lolth who did not go into exile and serves as the elven goddess of vigilance and grief, only really invoked by the occasional mournful elf consumed by betrayal and bereavement.
Sun elves have a rigid hierarchy of gods with Corellon as king, with everyone else in their 'appropriate' rank: Sehanine, Labelas and Hanali being very highly regarded, while 'primitive' gods like Rillifane and Fenmarel go at the bottom of the hierarchy. (Erevan is classified as a migraine.) Lashrael and Felarathael, a pair of solars who serve Corellon, are worshipped by the Ar'Tel'Quessir as gods. -
Moon elves consider Aerdrie, Hanali and Sehanine as aspects of Angharradh, and view her as having equal importance to Corellon. Of these aspects they consider Sehanine Moonbow her primary aspect and moon elves are just generally very enthusiastic about her faith. -
Dark elven communities who worship the Seldarine will often include Eilistraee and Vhaeraun in their own localised pantheon, although the latter may be pacified more than venerated. They've also, historically, included deities less known on Toril like Vandria, Tilvenar/Darahl FIrecloak (god of metalwork, fire, earth and - according to them - subterranean lava flows), and Araleth Letheranil (god of twilight and light, specifically starlight, defender against evil forces, who really hates Lolth). Sehanine was also popular with the dark elves, pre-descent, possibly due to their moon elven ancestry. -
Green and wood elves acknowledge Corellon as the origin point of elvendom, and then completely side-line the entire pantheon including the First of the Seldarine in favour of Rillifane, Solonor and Erevan while focusing the rest of their attention on fey gods and other nature deities. -
Aquatic elves acknowledge that there are other gods, but past a token acknowledgement they worship Deep Sashelas as their patron and head of the Asathalfinare. -
Winged elves pay lip service to the rest of the Seldarine, but their faith is exclusively and deeply focused on Aerdrie Faenya, who they believe gave them their wings.
There are 28 deities total in the Seldarine. 11 are in the 'mainstream' Torilian pantheon who can generally be recognised by everyone, with an extra 3 who are local fey aspects of the Faerûnian pantheon and unique to Toril, plus a pair of twin solars who serve Corellon and hold sanctified status.
Sun elves ascribe the gods a strict hierarchy where Corellon rules over them with Sehanine as his consort and second in command. Moon elves place Angharradh as Queen of Arvandor, and place her and Corellon as having equal authority. Green elves don't really have any interest in Corellon and most of the pantheon at all, prioritising Rillifane and mostly worship the fey pantheon and nature itself. Dark elven communities that worship the Seldarine usually place them behind Eilistraee in importance. Aquatic elven religion is borderline henotheistic in its reverence of Deep Sashelas to the point of almost or entirely excluding the rest of the pantheon. Even within these umbrellas you can find diversity in beliefs and philosophy.
In truth the Seldarine are very loosely organised and most deities spending all their time seeing to their own goals and duties only really gathering and working together when something important comes up, and are loathe to make decisions quickly, devoting decades to centuries of debate and weighing the consequences and ripple effects of every potential choice.
Corellon, alongside Angharradh - either as a whole being or as Sehanine, Aerdrie and Hanali working together in unison - hold seniority and speak for the Seldarine, but there does seem to be something of a democracy going on.
Despite most elves being isolationists, many of the Seldarine are actually in favour of the elves embracing multiculturalism – Corellon takes an active personal interest in learning more of non-elven cultures, Angharradh encourages diversity as a strength, Sehanine and Labelas encourage reaching out to other peoples and fostering understanding and peace (a lesson Labelas learnt from pissing off Clangeddin, who is slow to forgive him despite his shows of contrition). Mortal elves aren’t all that interested in listening, on the whole. Sun elven religion continues to insist that preserving elven culture unchanged, and shunning all others, is a religious duty handed from on-high by the Seldarine. Despite frequently disagreeing with the elves’ decisions, the gods rarely intervene on the grounds of mandated free will (which applies to all deities, really).
‘There are some things the gods cannot prevent, for to do so would be to take all choice from the hands of their mortal children.’ - Angharradh
While often assigned a more frequent gender and pronouns, the Seldarine have no gender, or at least no consistent gender, for example Erevan has been credited with Loki-style shapeshifting parenting shenanigans. Nor, despite them being divine parents and progenitors of the elven race, are they considered mortal elves. Elves consider assigning the Seldarine genders, or depicting them behaving as mortals in the fashion of, say, greek mythology, as humans do with the Faerûnian pantheon, to be hubris and blasphemy – The gods are not mortal, and it’s wrong to try and narrow them into mortal perceptions. (Yet many elves have still managed to blaspheme, which is probably more of an out-of-universe writer bias thing/writers not all being on the same page. Again). Often the Seldarine prefer to manifest as natural phenomena or abstract concepts than humanoids: Colossal trees (Rillifane) and immobile tidal waves (Sashelas), clouds and storms (Aerdrie), azure moonlight or stars (Corellon)… Sehanine is particularly noted to defy attempts to define her with any form of description, let alone the physical.
It's believed that once natural features, such as trees, are old enough that they are capable of hosting the divine essence of the Seldarine, and elves pray by talking to the gods through them.
It has also been said amongst the various things that went on in 4e, but also by Ed Greenwood, that certain members of the pantheon are not the elven gods found in other worlds but elven aspects of the Faerûnian pantheon residing within Corellon's court.
'I envisaged Arvandor as being ruled by Corellon (holding sway over a fey court of elven deities and visiting mortal supplicants and elf spirits, in a vast forest dominated by trees whose leaves glowed a soft blue in moonlight). I saw Sune as dwelling on the plane, and welcome in Corellon’s court as Hanali Celanil, but possessing an essential personal nature disinterested in ruling, dominance, or authority.' - Ed Greenwood
If you use that; Corellon, Angharradh, Solonor Thelandira, Erevan Ilesere, Fenamarel and Shevarash are 'true' members of the Seldarine and others are fey aspects. It's likely that Ao's 'if a newcommer clashes with the porfolio of a pre-existing god then you have to fuse or else fight for the position' rule applied here, and that the Tel'Quessir brought worship of - for example - Sehanine with them and since a moon goddess position was already taken Selûne filled the Sehanine shaped space in their faith while the original elven goddess is actually hanging out on other spheres of existence.
The core elven pantheon of the Realms is as follows:
Corellon Larethian, First of the Seldarine
Sacred Mother and Father, the Protector and Preserver of All Life, Coronal of Arvandor, Creator of All Elves, Ruler of All Elves
'The Tel'Quessir are both wardens and sculptors of magic's end less mysteries. Through Art and Craft, bring forth the beauty that envelops and let the spirit gambol unfettered. The song of joy and the dance of freedom shall ever soar on the wings of those who dare take flight. Guard against the slow death of stultifying sameness by seeking out new experiences and new ways. Ward against those who seek only to destroy in their inability to create and commune with the natural and mystical world. Be ever vigilant in force of arms and might of magic against any return of the banished darkness, and also be strong in heart against the corruption from within which allowed the Spider Queen to foment the chaos and evil of the Crown Wars.'
Portfolio: Magic, music, art, craft, war, poetry, bards, warriors Symbol: Crescent Moon
Parent of elvenkind, patron of artisans and warriors, god of HIgh Magic (and magic in general). Corellon is usually the most revered of the pantheon in any elven community - dark elves obviously notwithstanding.
'While other deities may reflect the joy, delights, and accomplishments of the Fair Folk, Corellon stands as an ever-vigilant watcher over them. His life spirit flows from and into the elves and their lands, and while mortal elves daydream and enter the reverie, Corellon never abandons his watchfulness.'
He spends a lot of time wandering elven homelands and their borders disguised - usually as something like a pixie, or another small and easily dismissed faerie - to patrol for danger as well as observe mortal elves going about their lives, especially artisans and his own priests.
Corellon is soft spoken and noted to be 'always humble,' a description that may vary by the writer or be the result of harshly learnt lessons. He delights in learning new things - opinions and philosophies, techniques and arts - even in interaction with mortals, and is particularly keen to learn about the mortal cultures of the N'Tel'Quessir, who most of his children won't go near.
Corellon maintains friendships and alliances with leaders and members of multiple other pantheons as well as his daughter Eilistraee, and Mystra, due to his position as god of magic and the elven ties to the Weave making magic's health and stability a primary concern. His enemies consist of those who would cause harm to the elves.
His clergy serve as mediators in disputes amongst elves, as well as diplomats, and tend to either involve themselves heavily in the military or in artistic institutions.
Clergy: A 'handful of dark elves.' Sun elves: 33% Moon elves: 30% Green elves: 15% Aquatic elves: 10% Half-elves: 12%
Angharradh, The Triune Goddess
the One and the Three, the Union of the Three, Queen of Arvandor
‘Through unity and diversity there is strength. Be ever vigilant against She Who Was Banished and work together in defending the lands of the Fair Folk from those who would work evil. Celebrate the One and the Three for their collective purpose and individual expressions of life. Through the melding of widely different skills and interests, creativity, life, and artistry are nurtured and new ideas are discovered.’
Portfolio: spring, fertility, planting, birth, defence, wisdom Symbol: Three interconnecting circles laid out in a triangle that points down
The fusion of Sehanine Moonbow, Hanali Celanil and Aerdrie Faenya, who, according to legend, formed during Lolth’s banishment after her betrayal was revealed. The three goddesses joined their power to heal Corellon after he was injured as part of Lolth’s assassination attempt. She incorporates the dogmas, teachings and all the aspects of the three goddesses; an agriculture goddess, a warrior, an advisor. Individualism and community. Birth, life, death. etc. A handful of elves from all subraces find themselves called to Angharradh, however she is almost exclusively worshipped by moon elves. Sun elves place Sehanine in her place, and think the moon elves are just being careless (or blasphemous) with their religious lore. She isn't mentioned in any other elven traditions, and other elves have no idea she exists.
A priestess of Angharradh is also a priestess of Hanali, Sehanine or Aerdrie.
She is patron of a moon elven tradition of druidesses specialising in runic magic, who serve their family and communities as spiritual guides dispensing advice and blessings (agriculture, war, journeys, love problems, childbirth, marriages, etc).
Sehanine Moonbow, Daughter of the Night Skies [Selûne]
Goddess of Moonlight, the Lunar Lady, Moonlit Mystery, the Mystic Seer, the Luminous Cloud, Lady of Dreams
'Life is series of mysteries whose secrets are veiled by the Luminous Cloud. As the spirit transcends its mortal bounds and new mysteries are uncovered, a higher form is achieved and the cycle of life continues. Through contemplation and meditation, communion with the Lady of Dreams is achieved. Through dreams, visions, and omens revealed in sleep or the reverie, the Daughter of the Night Sky unveils the next step along the path and the next destination on the endless journey of mystic wonder that is life and death and life. Revere the mysterious moon, who draws forth tides or being from us all.'
Portfolio: Mysticism, dreams, death, journeys, transcendence, the moon, the stars, the heavens, moon elves Symbol: Full moon with moonbow
The primary aspect of Angharradh. In some traditions, particularly sun elven faiths, Sehanine is the consort of Corellon Larethian and the second in command. In others she's his child, and in others she's his sibling. She protects and guides elves in reverie and life's journeys and in death; governs divination magics and sends visions and omens of fore coming danger to elves; protects elven lands with veils of enchantments and illusions; 'protects against madness'; and is patron deity of moon elves.
Sehanine is 'cherished' by almost all elves, and believed to be embodied in the elven spirit with enjoins the People as a whole; 'the joy at the heart of the elven spirit.'
She is sacred to moon elves above all others, their devout reverence of her as a culture was what led to their name. She once saw similar devotion from dark elves, who came about from moon elves intermarrying with the green elven Ilythiiri tribe, though that's long gone.
While she is considered sacred to the moon elves above others, particularly as the guardian who watches over elves on journeys, she is also greatly revered by sun elves as the protector of elven homelands who keeps them hidden from the outside world.
Sehanine refuses to be defined by descriptions and almost never voices her opinion directly, preferring only to communicate via dreams, omens and visions.
She is known for her patient kindness and motherly habits and puts the most effort into reaching out to the Seldarine's most estranged members; considering EIlistraee an adopted child, coaxing Fenmarel back to Arvandor on occasion, and soothing Shevarash's temper.
As a god of death, she obviously has enmity with gods who tamper with it via undeath like Velsharoon and Myrkul. She tolerates careful exploration of white necromancy (geared more towards healing magic and soothing lost souls, plus the occasional animation of undead like baelnorn liches when such a sacrifice must be made), but has no patience for black necromancy and the torments it delivers on the souls it damns.

Labelas Enoreth, the Sage at Sunset [Lathander/Amaunator]
The Lifegiver, Lord of the Continuum, the One-Eyed God, the Philosopher
'The march of time is inexorable, but the blessings of the Lifegiver enable the children of Corellon to live long and fruitful lives, unmarked by the passage of years. Record and preserve the lessons of history, and draw lessons from that which has unfolded. In the end, the sun always sets before the next day dawns anew. When you follow Labelas's teachings, time is on your side.'
Portfolio: Time, longevity, 'the moment of choice,' history Symbol: a setting sun
It is believed that when the first elves were born that Labelas used his mastery over time to bless them with their long lifespans, decreeing that their physical forms would be untouched by the passing of time. He works closely with Sehanine, overseeing the passage of elven lives as they move closer to death and deciding when this life and time on Toril has reached its end (and then perhaps when their next life has begun - sunset to sunrise). He apparently traded an eye for the ability to see through time, and is believed to know the future and past of all elves and fey, is worshipped by sages, historians, librarians and is patron to sun elves who particularly revere him. He focuses not on individual lives, but on the 'transgenerational changes and the growth of learning and wisdom among elves.'
As with Sehanine, undeath is blasphemy to Labelas' doctrine and he hates Myrkul.

Aerdrie Faenya, the Winged Mother [Akadi]
'The ever-changing reaches of the sky are the great gift of the Winged Mother. Take flight into her windswept embrace, and gambol amidst the everchanging clouds. Honor those who dwell with the Lady of Air and Wind and cherish the birds who dance on her tresses. In change there is beauty and in chaos there is the birth of new life. Ascend, soar, glide, dive, and ascend again and relish in the freedom that the Winged Mother bequeaths. The air is the breath of life.'
Portfolio: air, weather, avians, rain, fetrility, the avariel Symbol: the silhouette of a bird on a cloud.
Aerdrie is the flighty patron deity of the winged elves, and mostly disinterested in everybody else, though she does patrol the oceans around Evermeet in avatar form alongside her fellow deities, protecting the elves of the isle and has had to branch out and encourage worship amongst non-winged elves since the avariel are almost extinct at this stage. She is primarily worshipped by farmers and other elves seeking good weather.

Rillifane Rallathil, the Leaflord [Silvanus]
'The Great Oak draws energy from all the living creatures of the world and nourishes, sustains, and protects them from outside threats. Live in harmony with the natural world, allowing each living being the opportunity to serve out its natural purpose in life. As the Leaflord's countless branches, his faithful are to serve as his mortal agents in the natural world Defend the great forests from those who would ravage their riches, leaving only destruction in their path. Contest both the quick and the slow death of Rillifane's bounty and hold strong like the great oaks in the face of those who can see only their own immediate needs.'
Portfolio: nature, woodlands, druids, green elves Symbol: an oak tree
Guardian of nature and patron of the green elves, he is pictured in elven philosophy as a giant metaphysical oak tree within Arvandor, whose roots are part of every mortal tree upon the material plane. It is part of the ebb and flow of natural cycles and seasons, and sustains the world against disease, predation and assault.
Rillifane is the most grounded member of the pantheon, and spends most of his time navel gazing, preferring to let his priests get on with it without him pushing and prodding them. The only time he'll directly act on Toril is to intervene when an elven habitat is under heavy threat.
He contains multiple aspects as great spirits who usually take the form of great animals, which are worshipped by the green elves. It's believed that there is some holy connection between individual elves and one of these aspects, and that these spirits act as patrons, guides and protectors.

Solonor Thelandira, the Great Archer
Keen-Eye, the Forest Hunter
'Walk in harmony with nature and oppose the efforts of those who would disturb her delicate balance. Preserve the wild places from excessive encroachment, and work with those who would settle the land to preserve the beauty that first attracted them. Hunt only for sustenance, culling the old and the weak from the herd so that all species may prosper. Like an arrow in flight, it is difficult to arrest the consequences of an action. Choose your targets carefully, for an ill-considered action can have a long-reaching impact.'
Portfolio: archery, hunting, wilderness survival, wood elves Symbol: a silver arrow with green fletching
Solonor concerns himself with maintaining a careful balance between settled interests and uncultivated nature; keeping the integrity of the natural world safe from careless exploitation while also seeing to the needs of people.
He guards the borders of elven homelands, alongside Corellon, Fenmarel and Shevarash, and works with Rillifane to care for the natural world.
Naturally, he's prayed to by hunters and rangers, and over the years some humans have also begun praying to him. Elves hoping to remain hidden in hostile territory also make offerings.
He's said to be the brother of Fenmarel Mestarine, and is noted to be kindred spirits with Eilistraee, which has been interpreted alternatively as them being half-siblings and/or courting.
He takes issue with senseless destruction and killing for the sake of killing, which has made him and Bhaal enemies.

Deep Sashelas, Lord of the Undersea
the Dolphin Prince, the Knowledgeable One, Sailor's Friend, the Creator
'Swim the great currents and the shallow seas. Exult in the everchanging beauty and life of the bounteous Undersea. Revel in the joy of creation and increase its myriad aspects. Seek not to hold that which is everchanging, but instead love the change itself. Seek out fellow swimmers who honor the ways of the Lord of the Undersea, and ally with them against those who see only the darkness of the deeps. Follow the way of the dolphin. Promote the use of the seas by all reasonable folk for all time to come; fight those who would hoard its riches or pollute its depths.' -
Portfolio: creation, knowledge, oceans, sea elves Symbol: a dolphin
Sashelas plays little role in the lives of most elves, since his interests lie almost entirely beneath the waves. For surface elves he's the patron of sailors, to whom they make offerings for safe journeys and protection against Umberlee (these offerings, thrown overboard, are collected by sea elves and put to use for the benefit of their community).
While a member of his own pantheon, Sashelas is also the head of his own pantheon of aquatic deities called the Asathalfinare: comprised of the likes of deities of merfolk, selkies, tritons, etc. He spends most of his time focused on the wellbeing of aquatic elven communities and creating new art projects like underwater cave systems chasing his whims.
He's notorious for being unable to keep it in his pants, much to the extreme annoyance of his wife and the great entertainment of the rest of the Seldarine, who view his marital drama as one of their favourite soap operas.
Only aquatic elves (and half-elves) are part of his priesthood.
The Asathalfinare, which is not given a whole lot of focus so can be covered here, consists of:
Trishina, goddess of dolphins, and Sashelas' consort. Eadro, god of locathah and merfolk. Persana, god of tritons. Surminare, goddess of selkies. Water Lion, who is just weird.
The gods cooperated for the strength of their respective peoples, and to organise against their common enemies in Umberlee and the sahuagin god Sekolah.
(As this post is long as fuck and the sea elves are basically never relevant I'm just going to leave it at that.)
Hanali Celanil, Lady Goldenheart [Sune]
the Heart of Gold, Winsome Rose, Archer of Love, Kiss of Romance
'Life is worth living because of the beauty found in the world and the love that draws twin hearts together. Nurture what is beautiful in life, and let beauty's glow enliven and brighten the lives of those around you. The greatest joy is the rapture of newfound love and the tide of romance that sweeps over those wrapped in its embrace. Seek out and care for love wherever it takes root and bring it to its fullest bloom so that all may share in the joy and beauty it creates. Always give shelter and succour to young lovers, for their hearts are the truest guides to life's proper course.'
Portfolio: fine art, artists, beauty, romantic love Symbol: a golden heart
Hanali's primary worshippers are artists (which for elves means sculptors more than anything else), bards, dancers, actors and lovers. While there's definitely a sexual component to Hanali's realm of influence, she is the goddess of love and apparently frowns upon empty hedonism.
Appropriately for a love goddess, Hanali delights in seeing love and affection growing between people and her avatar often manifests in secret to protect elven lovers from those who would tear them apart. Her clergy are also under instructions to protect and aid lovers, regardless of any social stigma.
Depictions of Hanali in religious art show her with one finger resting on her chest, pointing at her heart and the other pointing to one ear, indicating that she is 'ever receptive to the prayers of lovers.'
Hanali herself has had trysts with nigh every member of the Seldarine, though her strongest affections lie with Erevan.

Erevan Illesere, the Trickster
The Chameleon the Green Changeling, the Evershifting Shapechanger, the Fey Jester, the Jack of the Seelie Court
‘Change and excitement are the spice of life. Live on the edge, unbound by the conventions of society in a spirit of constant self-reinvention. Puncture the self-righteousness, sanctimony, and pretension that pervades orderly society with mischievous pranks that both amuse and enlighten. Inspire laughter and happiness, giddy silliness, and welcome release from care so that the routine of day-to-day existence does not become worn so deep that it grinds all the joy from life. Celebrate the spontaneous, and practice random acts of helpfulness.’
Portfolio: Change, Mischief, Rogues Symbol: Nova star with asymmetrical rays
Patron god of rogues and adventurers, elven high society sometimes struggles to understand - no disrespect meant - why they have this deity. Primarily worshipped by troublemakers and those elves bored with the slow pace of elven society.
Erevan has no attention span; he's 'utterly unpredictable'; would rather spend his time partying and drinking and can be easily bribed with wine; gives aid when and where he feels like it and quickly gets annoyed and starts ignoring people when they rely on his divine aid too often; and enjoys setting up pranks, especially if they illustrate the flaws of people or rain on the parade of those who think themselves more important than anyone else.
His flightiness and propensity for pranking his fellow gods has led the Seldarine to lose patience, so Erevan is usually found in the company of gods with similar senses of restlessness, chaos and fun (Tymora, Shaundakul, the gnome pantheon, etc).
The only consistent description of Erevan is that he always wears something green - other than that he's a shapeshifter who never looks the same.
The only thing Erevan takes seriously is bullying. He's protective of small, vulnerably elven communities, and always champions the underdog. When said underdogs are threatened Erevan's flighty love of harmless pranks immediately cease to be 'harmless.' His championing of the underdog also makes him Eilistraee's closest friend.

Fenmarel Mestarine, the Lone Wolf
‘The world is a harsh and unforgiving place, with uncompromising demands on those who would forge their own path. Rely not on others for protection, for betrayal comes easily, but on you own skills and those taught to you by the Lone Wolf: the skills of camouflage, deception and secrecy. Follow the way of the Lone Wolf, for his is the path of self-sufficiency. Fear not hard work, for the fruits of your labor prove your worth to yourself.’
Portfolio: Outcasts, Scapegoats, Isolation Symbol: A pair of eyes in darkness
Fenmarel was once a lover of Lolth before her attempted coup, who was almost tricked into betraying Corellon on her behalf, but panicked and backed out. Out of guilt, and the belief that Corellon resents him for his affair, Fenmarel left Arvandor for Limbo in self-exile. His relationship with Corellon is strained, and he resents Lolth and extends this to the dark elves.
Fenmarel is bitter, sullen, hates company of any kind, and has no sense of humour, always expecting the worst. He avoids commitments, but does extend his patronage to elven exiles and outcasts who find themselves without a community, serving as their protector while he teaches them how to survive in the wilderness and how to lie and hide amongst hostile company.
Followers of Fenmarel are viewed with suspicion and hostility by other elves who encounter them, as their choice of god is itself an admission of great wrongdoing and there's a strong chance these elves were banished from their communities for serious crime/s.

Shevarash, the Black Archer
The Night Hunter, the Arrow Bringer
'The greatest enemy of the Seldarine is Lolth, who sought the corruption of Arvandor and the overthrow of the Creator. The greatest enemy of the Fair Folk is the drow, the debased followers of the Spider Queen who long ago were enmeshed in her dark web. Redemption and revenge may be achieved through the utter destruction of the drow and the dark powers they serve. Only then may the joy of life begin anew. Hunt fearlessly!'
Portfolio: Vengeance, Military crusades, Loss, Revenge, 'Hatred of drow' Symbol: A broken arrow before a teardrop
Shevarash was once a mortal green elf, known for his carefree nature and love of life, whose family was slaughtered by drow during a historical event known as the Dark Court Slaughter. In response he prayed to Corellon that he would never to smile again until Lolth and every single drow was dead, and spent the rest of his life hunting dark elves. Instead of sending him to therapy, when he died Corellon had him promoted to god. Sages believe that Shevarash may have been deified as a sort of lightnign rod for the surface elves' hatred of their cousins, keeping them from reaching the level of hatred seen in the Crown Wars so that Lolth has less to work with in corrupting more elves.
Shevarash has been forced to play nice with Eilistraee and is forbidden to harm her followers, but he doesn't like it.
While a member of the Seldarine he's not that close to them. He views Fenmarel as a superior, Solonor as a mentor, and is receptive to Sehanine's attempts to comfort him and get him to calm down already.
His entire personality revolves around how much he hates drow and anything to do with them, which has earned him pragmatic alliances with gods who are opposed to Lolth and/or are in conflict with drow, but not much friendship.
Except Shar, who he's sleeping with for her ability to numb his pain, which is causing something of an ongoing freakout amongst his pantheon.
Green elves: 33% Moon elves: 32% Sun elves: 29% Half-elves: 6%
Naturally there is absolutely zero chance in hell that Shevarash is accepting dark elves as priests, even if any would apply. Half-drow also need not apply.
And the members who are Toril exclusive:
Khalreshaar [Mielikki]
'Intelligent beings can live in harmony with the wild without requiring the destruction of one in the name of the other. Embrace the wild and fear it not, because the wild ways are the good ways. Keep the Balance and learn the hidden ways of life, but stress the positive and outreaching nature of the wild. Do not allow the trees to be needlesly felled or the forest burned. Live in the forest and be a part of the forest, but do not dwell in endless battle against the forest. Protect forest life, defend every tree, plant anew where death fells a tree, and restore the natural harmony that fire-users and woodcutters often disrupt. Live as one with the woods, teach others to do so, and punish and curtail those that hunt for sport or practice cruelties on wild creatures.'
Mielikki’s elven aspect; according to the oldest legends she's a human druid who died defending elven woodlands from the encroachment of human civilisation and was honoured with godhood by Corellon.
After the Time of Troubles a different version of her story rapidly gained popularity, one that says she's the daughter of Hanali Celanil and Silvanus, a half-elven goddess. This version of her story is immensely popular with half-elves, who eagerly claim her as a half-elven god, while many 'trueblood' elves (yes, that's a term they use) 'dismay.'
Zandilar the Dancer [Sharess]
'Life is to be lived to its fullest. That which is good is pleasurable and that which is pleasurable is good. Spread the bounty of the goddess so that all may join in the Endless Revel of Life and bring joy to all those in pain. Infinite experiences await those who would explore, so try the new as well as savouring the old.
Sharess’ elven aspect. Once a goddess of the Yuir pantheon who joined the Seldarine, and later fused with the Mulhorandi goddess Bast to survive when Vhaeraun nearly killed her. In contrast to Hanali, who is romantic, enduring love, Zandilar is passion that burns bright then burns out.
Avachel, ‘Quicksilver’ [Hlal/Aasternian]
The elven aspect of the draconic deity of learning, invention and pleasure; a trickster and patron of copper dragons, Hlal, sometimes known as Aasternian, who found her way into the pantheon by association with her bestie, Erevan. The two tend to do each others’ pantheon’s heads in with their pranks and humour, and generally find each others’ company more welcoming. In her elven aspect Hlal goes by male pronouns more often than not, and is represented as a mercury dragon. His adventures with the Fey Jester are the topic of many elven legends. Followers are encouraged to wander and follow their curiosity, as well as always thinking for themselves. The worst sin one could commit is in not trusting in yourself and allowing another to determine your life and thoughts for you.
Lashrae and Felarathael
A pair of solars loyal to Corellon who serve as messengers, worshipped by sun elves as members of the pantheon.
Usually dispatched as divine messengers and guardians whenever Corellon needs to make an important pronouncement to somebody for whatever reason. Lashrae is extremely emotional in manner and behaviour; Felarathel is stoic and coldly logical, although he makes reassuring company apparently.
They're also known for putting people in enchanted sleeps, teleporting them miles away, turning them into woodland animals, or robbing them of memories. Usually hostile creatures.
-------
The Dark Seldarine
Not a pantheon in the sense that the other two are. The term is simply used to group together the deities most commonly associated with drow, none of these entities are allies*. Whereas a worshipper of the Seldarine can honour all the elven gods, the seelie court and any other deities relevant to their lives, a worshipper of the Dark Seldarine may find this a struggle as none of the drow gods want to share with each other. They can't even share a plane, with each deity living alone. The closest to an alliance in there is Selvetarm being enslaved by Lolth. *That said, Eilistraee and Vharaun are supposed to have worked out their differences and possibly even be friends by the time the 15th century's rolled around. It hasn't turned up on paper so far, but that's what was planned for them.
Lolth is the most powerful and infamous, and generally the only known drow deity to non-drow (and a great deal of her own drow worshippers, honestly). Selvetarm and Kiaransalee begrudgingly recognise her authority and serve her, while the twins and Ghaunadaur don't but lack the power to challenge her directly.
They're not hands-off gods. Eilistraee alone keeps her distance in order to afford her followers their freedom ('she acknowledges the need for individual drow to find their own path to redemption that heavy-handed interference on her part would preclude') and doesn't object to them worshipping other gods alongside her, but the rest of the Dark Seldarine demand 'absolute obedience and exclusive veneration in exchange for great power' and tend to show up in person and directly meddle a fair bit. If a specific church has control of a city then all other gods are off the table (Menzoberranzan is a Lolth stronghold; Llurth Dreier is Ghaunadan; V'elddrinnsshar is Kiaransaleen) When more than one church has significant presence in a settlement it usually tears said settlement apart due to the conflict.
The Dark Seldarine has origins in the War of the Seldarine when Lolth - then Araushnee, goddess of destiny and artisans and patron godess of the dark elves - attempted to stage a coup and claim power from her lover, Corellon (it was not a healthy relationship on either side). She was aided by their son Vhaeraun, who between one parent neglecting him and the other verbally and physically abusing him, resented them both enough to have no problem backstabbing the one and allying with the other with the aim to stab her in the back later. Eilistraee, trying to earn the attention and affection of both parents, was easily manipulated into becoming a pawn and seemingly assassinated her father. While Corellon was willing to overlook her part and Sehanine defended her against accusations of guilt, Eilistraee was exiled with her mother and twin both at her own request (because the dark elves would need divine aid to counter Lolth) and Vharaun's demand (to spite Corellon for favouring his sister).
The twins were permitted to simply leave, and Vhaeraun left with his unconscious sister to places unknown. Their mother, on the other hand, was transformed into a demon and banished to the Abyss.
Sages estimate these events occurred between -30,000 DR and -29,500 DR.
Eilistraee and Vharaun remained within elven knowledge and were worshipped for aeons. Araushnee worked her way to the title of Demon Lord in the Abyss, along the way picking up a drow necromancer from another world (Kiaransalee) and suffering the advances and then the enmity of the primordial evil Ghaunadaur, who - unbeknownst to Lolth - had also been cultivating worship on Toril since at least as early as -25,100 DR.
Lolth first noticed the existence of Toril in -24,400 DR after the incursion of a moon elf in the Abyss, and then turned her attention towards corrupting the elves to spite Corellon.
When, exactly these various deities began to be classified as a pantheon is unknown to me, but it was likely formed at some point during the Crown Wars as the Ilythiiri, formerly worshippers of Eilistraee and Vhaeraun - before the First Sundering and the Dark Disaster destroyed the twins' worshipper bases and took them out of the picture for eons - fell further and further under the control of the cults of Ghaunadaur, Lolth and Kiaransalee and started to build coherent religions out of these new deities (many dark elves died to divine smiting whenever their blind efforts to understand their new goddess offended).
With the Descent of the Drow and the dark elves splintering into various hostile factions and cities, worship of the Dark Seldarine has developed into countless different forms and all the religions (and the sects within those religions) view each other poorly. Lolthites, for example, claim that Lolth is the only true deity and that the other 'gods' are pretenders, the Seldarine in disguise trying to tempt them away with lies and trickery, demons in Lolth's service, and so on so forth... assuming they're aware that other gods exist.
Like the Seldarine, there are other dark elven gods, but I haven't heard of them on Toril so I'm assuming they aren't known or worshipped.
Lolth, the Spider Queen
Quarvalsharess, Weaver of Chaos, the Mother of Lusts, Dark Mother of All Drow, Demon Queen of the Abyss, Queen of the Demonweb Pits
'Fear is as strong as steel, while love and respect are soft, useless feelings that none can lean on. All drow who do not worship Lolth must be converted or destroyed. All weak and rebellious drow must be weeded out. All who impugn the faith must perish. Males or slaves of other races who act independently of Lolth's dictates (and those of her priests) must be sacrificed to Lolth. Those of the faithful whose loyalty is weak must be eliminated. Children are to be raised as loyal worshipers of Lolth, and each family should produce at least one priest to serve the Spider Queen better than his or her parents. Arachnids of all sorts are to be revered, and anyone who mistreats or kills a spider must die. '
Portfolio: chaos, spiders, evil, darkness, dark elves, (formerly: destiny) Symbol: A black spider with a drow woman's head Realm: 'The Demonweb Pits,' in the Abyss
Formerly Corellon's consort Araushnee, the Weaver of Destiny, patron deity of dark elves and goddess of artisans and fate who felt suffocated and resentful in her position and decided to stage a coup to claim power for herself.
The most well known of the Dark Seldarine and generally the only drow god anyone's heard of. A bottomless pit of sadism and ambition and all around terrible mother who enjoys terrorising everybody and watching the world dissolve into chaos and bloodshed for her own personal hunger games.
Zinzerena, the Hunted
The Princess of Outcasts
'Raise yourself up by bringing others down. Don't reveal your strength, or your hatred, until your victim is helpless. Don't strike until you have the advantage the only fair fight is the one you win. Once the trap is sprung, make time to gloat before the kill. The legs of the spider are made to be broken.'
Portfolio: Assassins, Lies, Illusion, Humiliation, Ambushes Symbol: A sword draped in a black cloak Realm: The Prime Material Plane
A mortal assassin of legendary skill whose power led her to the bottom rung of godhood (demigod), her divinity and portfolios were usurped by Lolth on Toril, but apparently Zinzerena has returned as an independent demipower due to the Second Sundering.
She is the token neutral god of an evil pantheon (Chaotic Neutral). Information on Zinzerene is hard to get, and the only source on her is from setting-neutral sources or for Greyhawk*, so whether this is accurate or not is hard to tell until - and if - any conflicting Realms-specific information overwrites it. *Zinzerena is not from Torilian drow stock, and it's believed that she was born on Oerth. Some stories claim that she's the demigod child of Lolth herself, hidden and raised away from the Spider Queen's sight until she was old enough to strike out at her mother.
Zinzerena's lore is taught from parent to child through folktales rather than in recorded formal religious texts: a hero to the common people who tricks her way into the ranks of the gods. All her tales seem to involve illusion magic. She is revered by the commoner and those even lower than them, those who toil and suffer under the tyranny of the noble houses and yearn for change.
While she preaches cruelty, such teachings are more in the spirit of surviving in a harsh world rather than cruelty for cruelty's sake.
Her ethos is not incompatible with Vhaeraun, though as a goddess of rogues she's likely to be seen as competition for the same followers and he may be more interested in keeping her down (as a goddess she will likely be more popular than him with drow women.)
Vhaeraun, the Masked Lord
the Masked God of Night; the Shadow
‘The shadows of the Masked Lord must cast off the tyranny of the Spider Queen and forcibly reclaim their birthright and rightful place in the Night Above. The existing drow matriarchies must be smashed, and the warring practices of twisted Lolth done away with so that the drow are welded into a united people, not a squabbling gaggle of rival Houses, clans, and aims. Vhaeraun will lead his followers into a society where the Ilythiiri once again reign supreme over the other, lesser races, and there is equality between males and females.’

'...why are things so cruel and divisive? Why isn't there more harmony, mutual enjoyment, and common growth in power? Why, after thousands of years, are we still all stuck in this one cavern, at each other's throats all the time when we could be great, rule a vast part of the Underdark, and all live like surface-world kings?' - The questions that earn you an audience with Vhaeraun.
His church is less like a faith and more like a resistance movement, he doesn’t care what you personally think of him and will lend his power to you so long as your goals of overthrowing Lolth align with his (don’t be rude though). Vhaeraunites are forbidden to interact with dwarves and gnomes for some reason (which Vhaeraunites have been known to ignore, maybe because the writers forgot about this?), though intermarriage with surface elves to bring them into the fold and alliances with the shadier side of humanity are relatively common, and Vhaeraun accepts converts from them. He and Mask often exploit their overlapping portfolios and masquerade as each other in an attempt to poach followers and usurp each others place. Vhaeraun in particular is trying to leverage it to spread his influence through human cultures and secure his people’s footholds. The two also count each other as allies, so it's not bothering them much.
His priests are split into two groups; Darkmasks and Masked Traitors. The latter is comprised of priestesses of Lolth who have secretly defected. Vhaeraun lends his aid so that they can go undetected within the hierarchy of Lolth’s church and serve as spies and saboteurs. Darkmasks are his more obvious priests who serve him openly; mostly drow, of whom all are male, with some humans, half-drow and elves (which does include women).
Vhaeraun himself has mood ring hair and eyes – they change colour depending on his current emotions. He’s vain and a bit hypocritical (he and his followers can use whatever underhanded methods they please to advance, but if you use them on his followers he’ll lose his shit and tear your neck out. Some of his followers say he is a caring god (to them)). He also has a bad temper and bears grudges a mile long, especially against his neglectful father, his abusive mother, Sehanine (who he failed to keep imprisoned), his son (who ended up being enslaved by Lolth), his sister (who was 'the favourite')... a lot of people.
Since the War of the Spider Queen – when he and Eilistraee sort-of ended up the same entity and apparently developed an ‘understanding,’ deep enough to even merit the term ‘friendship,’ - he has apparently softened a touch and encourages his followers to extend their reach by presenting themselves as helpful rather than as conquerors and rogues (even if they're only pretending to be 'good' as a mask to divert scrutiny from their less savoury activities) and he advises them to leave Eilistraeeans alone. Whether said followers are listening to those commands is another matter.
Eilistraee, the Dark Maiden
Lady Silverhair, Lady of the Dance
'Be always kind, except in battle with evil. Encourage happiness everywhere. Learn and teach new songs, dances, and the flowing dance of skilled swordwork. Promote harmony between the races. Befriend strangers, shelter those without homes, and feed the hungry. Repay rudeness with kindness. Repay violence with swift violence so that those who cause it are swiftly dealt with. Aid drow in distress and give them the Lady's message: 'A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace and live beneath the sun again where trees and flowers grow.'
Porfolio: song, beauty, dance, swordwork, hunting, moonlight, fertility and motherhood Symbol: a silver long sword against a full moon, with silvery filaments surrounding it in a nimbus Realm: 'The Court of the Dance,' in Ysgard
Token good party member. Eilistraee tries to be a caring mother figure to the drow, who she attempts to pull away from the Dark Seldarine's influence and put into therapy and PR schemes so that they can return to the surface and live peaceful lives.
Eilistraee is melancholy and brooding more often than not, kind natured but with a temper simmering under the surface. Happiness comes to her while watching musicians, craftsmen, and acts of kindness and love.
She tries to give her worshippers as much space and personal freedom as possible, and when those followers are harmed she will lash out. Not always directly, but Eilistraee often lends her aid to beings she favours in small, practical ways.
She has a bizarre aversion to clothes that we've all been judging Ed Greenwood for for years.
Selvetarm, Champion of Lolth
The Spider that Waits, the Spider Demon, Prince of the Aranea, Lord of the Venomire
'War is the ultimate expression of individual power, and only through battle and death can one realize the respect of one's comrades. Hone fighting skills constantly and teach those who will follow into the fray. Never give or receive quarter, and die amidst the bloodlust of battle against overwhelming odds. Cultivate as many different weapon tricks and combat manoeuvres as a spider has arms, and never fear that hidden venom, like a secret vengeance waiting to strike, will serve you ill.'
Portfolio: Warriors Symbol: Spider in front of a crossed sword and mace. Realm: The Demonweb Pits
Patron of drow warriors and a symbol of ultimate prowess in combat.
Selvetarm is the son of Vhaeraun and Zandilar, who attempted to seduce Vhaeraun in an act of intrigue that nearly killed her. Their son wandered the world alone, ignoring and seemingly being ignored in the conflict between the two pantheons he was born between and eventually came across a fellow outcast in the form of Eilistraee. His aunt successfully befriended him and hoped that maybe he could be part of healing the rift between dark elves and their cousins. Lolth thought so too, and also really didn't like the idea of Eilistraee having any allies, so she decided to ruin everything.
His grandmother convinced him that a demon lord, Zanassu (who just so happened to have pissed her off by claiming to have lordship over spiders) should be slain by him so that he could take the demon's essence, empowering himself and making himself more useful and more impressive to his aunt, whose approval he craved. Taking on Zanassu's essence, as intended, corrupted him into something malicious and destructive, and the battle weakened him enough that Lolth was able to step in and enslave his will to hers. She made him her personal bodyguard and slave.
Selvetarm is perpetually angry and spiteful. He hates everything that lives, and especially hates Lolth more than anything. The only good thing in the world to him is the skill of a trained fighter. He can be extremely patient if he really has to, but hates doing so and would rather just go into a raging murder frenzy. If called on by his priests he'll generally either manifest and deal with the issue himself or totally ignore the prayer.
His clergy are usually a minor subset of Lolth's clergy, being seen as her followers as just another demon under her command. More recently his followers have begun pushing back working on establishing their own communities independent of the Spider Queen. She isn't taking kindly to that.
Kiaransalee, the Revenancer
Lady of the Dead, the Vengeful Banshee
'Death comes to all, and cruel vengeance will be exacted on those who waste their lives on the petty concerns of this existence. True power comes only from the unquestioning servitude of the once-dead, mastery over death, and the eventual earned stature of one of the ever-living in death. Hunt, slay, and animate those who scorn the Revenancer's power, and answer any slight a thousandfold so that all may know the coming power of Kiaransalee.'
Portfolio: Undeath, Revenge Symbol: The hand of a drow woman, bearing many silver rings on her fingers. Realm: 'Thanatos,' in the Abyss
Kiaransalee was a mortal dark elven queen from a different world called Threnody who decided to start practicing necromancy and experimenting on the populace and was exiled by her husband and proclaimed drow. She responded to that by turning all of Threnody into an dead wasteland and then fled to the Abyss when the Seldarine informed her they were decidedly unhappy about that. Within the Abyss she garnered enough power to become a minor divinity, and met the exiled Araushnee/Lolth who forced her into vassalage. The two have a terrible working relationship, and Kiaransalee would love to rip the Spider Queen's heart out and eat it; to that end she beat the shit of the demon lord of undeath Orcus and stole his house, establishing herself as an elven goddess of undeath.
Her followers are few, mostly being found in small settlements and hidden enclaves and they tend to have a laser focus on the undead, usually becoming undead themselves.
She counts Jergal amongst her enemies, likely a combination of squabbling over closely linked offices and a disagreement over the role of undeath. (Kiaransalee, like most necromancers, sees it as mastery over death while Jergal is all about the nihilism and death of everything, undeath is just another temporary state and undead that exist without his permission/outside of his service are blasphemous).
Ghaunadaur, the Elder Eye
That Which Lurks, the Ancient One
'All creatures have their place, and all are fit to wield power. Those who hunt weed out the weak and strengthen the stock of all. Those who rebel or who walk apart find new ways and try new things and do most to advance their races. Creatures of power best house the energy of life, which Ghaunadaur reveres and represents.' 'The faithful of Ghaunadaur are to make sacrifices to the Eye, persuade others to sacrifice themselves to Ghaunadaur or in service of the Eye, further the knowledge and fear of Ghaunadaur, and in the end give themselves to Ghaunadaur in unresisting self-sacrifice. Priests of Ghaunadaur are to convert all beings that they can to worship Ghaunadaur. They must slay all clergy of other faiths, plundering their temples and holdings for wealth to better their own lot and to further the worship of Ghaunadaur.'
Portfolio: Outcasts, Rebels, Oozes, Slimes, Jellies, Ropers, Anything subterranean Symbol: An eye on a purple background Realm: 'The Cauldron of Slime,' on the Paraelemental Plane of Ooze
A primordial evil with dominion over oozes and slimes who has been plaguing Toril with his presence since the dawn of its existence. Ghaunadaur is am amorphous giant blob of dark purple covered in tentacles. Within Realmspace he also controls the cults of the Demon Lord, Jubilex, and the Elder Elemental God, Tharizdun, as these two eldritch horrors have no presence on Toril themselves.
It's believed on Toril that beings such as gelatinous cubes and mustard jellies were once sapient, but when Ghaunadaur attempted to usurp the newly-made Demon Lord Lolth by seducing her and she said she wasn't interested in fucking a giant puddle of slime he threw a temper tantrum and stripped them of all sentience for something to hurt, which destroyed his own power in the process since they were no longer able to worship him. Nowadays he's taking them from Lolth.
Ghaunadaur's behaviours and intentions can be impossible for humanoids to wrap their heads around. Ghaunadaur cannot communicate with words (or not many) telepathically communicating with blunt and simple messages of three words of less. Sometimes it sends its greatest aid in exchange for empty lip service and sometimes it eats those who pray to it without any warning. Ghaunadaur almost always appears in person when called upon by its followers. Its titular eye may appear on its altars, and making eye contact and not looking away fast enough causes a host of random effects like: dropping dead, going into a coma, rapid aging, going into a blind murderous rage against everyone around you, panic attacks and generalyl losing your mind in a manner similar to failing a Sanity check when playing Call of Cthulhu.
In exchange for whatever its giving its followers - 95% of whom are men, although Ghaunadaur himself doesn't care what your gender is - Ghaunadaur expects constant praise accompanied by being fed sacrifices, with the expectation being that in the end you will be sacrificed.
#long post#For the life of me I still don't know WHY you'd worship Ghaunadaur#WARNING: Small novel#When I said they had a stupid amount of deities I was not lying#Sometimes a DnD race can have too much lore#lore stuff#pointy eared stuff

Queen's Gambit
"Are you lost little bird? These aren't your woods."
Chapter 1
It doesn't take the voice of a king to silence a room, something you and the bard learned very young. A familiar glint of recognition shines in those earthy brown eyes of his, one that you mirror back. The fairy lights that drift around in the room swirl and coalesce around your form. The ball of light circles you once, twice, and then break off into a ray of colors. No doubt the magics of the brown-haired man who limps next to you.
Jimmy Valour, the only other man who you had ties to. A bard who had made a name for himself in the last war, a decade ago he was but a teenager who successfully played both sides of the war. You haven't seen him since your days at the College of Whispers, a school dedicated to the art of being...well a bard.
Now here he was, introducing you to the Elven and Fae nobles of the room. Listing off the titles that came packaged with them. The long and tedious courtroom etiquette would be just that if it wasn't the perfect time to get a feel for the room. First you went down the line of the lower nobles, the scribes and historians that were only there to keep a record of what was to happen today. Then it was the nobles who had stake in this war, families that you could only assume would see to gain. No matter the race, it was the same. You didn't need to be an expert in the inner workings of Fae and Elven politics to know that much.
Lastly were the knights, men and women alike who were donned in leather armor. Vastly different from the metal that the human knights wore. Each adorned with a sun that held their capes on their backs. Green cloaks with a golden symbol that looked like brush strokes, the flag of their King.
A king who has not taken his eyes off you since you entered the room. They're narrowed in just a way that it's almost certain that he's scrutinizing you, watching every little move you make.
No one would think less of a diplomat for buckling under the intense gaze of a King. Any leader worth their name would look at the enemy of his people like this. But you didn't come this far to throw in the towel before even having a chance to speak. Instead, you give him a small nod and a smile, with your lids lowered in just a way that tells him:
"The game has only just begun."
Kyle's brows bounce up for a moment, he covers his lower face with his hand. He rests his elbow on his armchair and leans down next to the stoic looking man next to him. He whispers something to him and try as you might it's impossible to hear from where you're standing.
Raven hair that comes down to the base of his neck, right where the spine connects, falls just above his furrowed brows. Bits of the locks poke out from under the dark blue helmet. Fit perfectly around his head, the front making an M shape. The design carved into the helm is almost as captivating as the Kings gloves. They're similar in the way they swirl and turn into branches and vines. Your eye for design tells you, they're made that way on purpose.
One of the first lessons you were taught when dealing with the Elven and Fae people was to never look them in the eyes. To them the eyes were windows to the soul, only those with a strong bond could cross that line. Even in the courtroom here, most stare at their conversation partner's nose. So, it's worthy to note when you see the King and the knight he's whispering to look each other in the eye. They stare at one another for a while, their whispers dissolving into a silent conversation.
The knight nods after a while and his body physically relaxes. A shift in moods, no longer on the defensive. All in time for Jimmy to wrap up his rambling.
"Thank you, Sir Valour. It's an honor to have such an introduction read by someone as esteemed as yourself, much less by a friend." You thank him, casting him a small side smirk.
"Th-... The pleasure is all mine, I assure you. It's been a while; I see you've made a name for yourself. Quite a few actually." Jimmy responds as he keeps his eyes forward.
"What? Did you think I was going to let you hog all the glory? Maybe we're not as close as I thought." You hum, that playful tone dancing on your tongue.
He escorts you towards the end of the table, down the line of the Kings vision. Ser Clyde follows with an amused grin on his face. The banter between you and the bard entertaining the young knight.
"If this court meeting doesn't tear y-... tear y-... tear you apart then it'd be nice to catch up." He matches your energy with his own playful wisp. Once you sit down, he gives you a nod, but you don't miss the smug smile on his face.
He got the last word for now. Making a mental note to get him back, you turn to the eyes of many. The room has gotten so quiet you could hear a pen drop from the other side of the castle. Ser Clyde shifts from foot to foot, his armor clanking ever so slightly. He stops when you shoot him a small glare, offering a nervous apology.
Your breathing slows to a steady rhythm. Each time you exhale you can feel the emotions in the room. You open yourself up to them and time seems to slow down.
The ebb and flow of unspoken thoughts flood your mind, voices that aren't your own. The people of this court room project themselves onto you like a sunset does open water. It feels as if a spirit passes through you, leaving you hollow to nothing but these feelings.
Sunset eyes stare me down. Spice on a spring day. A gentle breeze breaks the tension. Their lightning eyes shoot me down. They want me to drown. Hands grasping at my clothes to pull me back up.
But it's his that are the loudest. Not so loud that you'd find yourself clutching the sides of your head. Even in his thoughts he speaks with authority and confidence. The King that stares you down holds the voice of rulers long past. They speak together in balance with one another.
Silvered dagger rests in her mouth. With wit just as sharp. She knows not to look in the pyre reserved for Kings. Looking down my table, she stares me down...but she does not see me.
You don't linger on him for too long, you can't. Not when with every passing moment it feels like flying too close to the sun. You're starting to melt and burn. The man next to him sings a different song. The difference is night and day. It is ice and fire. It's the feeling only poets can put into words, but these absurd thoughts coming in would do just fine.
The pain in my back throbs. Flesh cut open and flayed out for my heart to bare. Remember why you're here. Less man than you are steel. I'd cut the throat of every man here if it meant the sun would rise again.
It takes everything to not physically shiver at that. Those blue eyes that you catch a quick glimpse of are shards of ice. Ice if it had lost the crystal colors and were laid flat. Yet there's something animalistic about them. Primal even.
It feels as if hours have passed since you sat down. Hours of these councilmen and women staring you down waiting for you to speak. Fortunately, it's only been a few seconds. Wading through the raw rivers of emotions will do that to you. A drawback to your little gift. But it was a small price to pay to level the playing field.
Pawn to D4
"Ladies, Gentlemen, and those who do not define yourselves as such, thank you for allowing me into your capital. With tensions as high as they are, you're taking a gamble on me. So, for that I thank you." You break the silence with a carefully constructed opening. "It's a shame we live in times where this is the case. Only a decade has passed since the war. Ten years and we can all recall it as if it were yesterday."
"It would not be like that if many of us didn't feel like it was yesterday." An older gentleman chimes in. Red hair like the Kings, but there are brushstrokes of white going through it. A thin mustache and beard that goes with it.
"And for that I apologize. I cannot speak for all of my people, to do so would be foolish and a waste of time." You waste no time with a response.
You predicted someone would come in with such a comment. The difference in the way humans and elves age is no secret. A fact Elves like to remind Humans quite often.
"Then who do you speak for Human? If a so-called diplomat cannot even speak for their people, then what good are you?" Donnel spears the question into you, voice dripping with malice.
"I am good enough for the Grand Wizard and enough to know my role at the table Ser Knight." You smirk down at him, tilting your head to the side just enough to dodge the spear.
His voice was the loudest amongst the people here. His thoughts were that of a cadence, marching soldiers gladly ready to die for their home. Fists pounding on shields taunting the enemy to come closer.
You wouldn't play his game. He's not even a player at the table.
"Then you speak for your King?" Kyle speaks as if he already knows the answer to the question, but he wants to hear you say it.
Pawn to D5
"I am both his mouth voice and my own your Majesty. The Grand Wizard trusts that I come here today with both kingdoms intentions at heart." As you speak your hands gracefully pick up the chalice.
They offer hospitality, it would be rude not to partake. Second rule of the Fae, a dry throat does no one good.
"To wet your tongue after spouting such blatant lies. Humans have never had anyone but their intentions at heart." A noble woman at the table snaps her fan. The blue and white fan no longer hid her angular face, or the birth mark directly under her eye.
"The same could be said about any living being when it comes to the tides of war. Do you not have you and your own best intentions?" You scoff a bit at her remark, but you don't offer much more. Before she can respond, you continue speaking. "But I'm not here to talk about history. I'm here to speak of the future. How to prevent another war."
Pawn to C4
Kyle's lips press together as he watches how you interact with his people. How you respond to every snide comment or glare, he notes how you walk the line of acknowledging them and refusing to give them your time. It's done so in a way that no one could call you out for being rude, you're following proper etiquette. He's torn between being impressed and frustrated.
Pawn to C4
"So, I come to you with everything on the table. My people cannot handle another war." You emphasize the word 'cannot' with your fingers pinched together and your pinky out. "We will not survive another onslaught from both sides. Your people outnumber us there's no questioning that, we're not able to ascertain the exact number of troops you have at the ready, but the number is inconsequential."
You can feel Ser Clyde shift again, his jaw tightens most likely, so he doesn't speak out of turn. To him you've just admitted defeat, shown that you and your people are weak, and he couldn't be further from that. He wears a red cloak for a God’s sake. The grip on his sword tightens, but as quick as he grips the leather, he lets go.
"Wise words. It speaks volumes to know when you're outmatched." The red head speaks again, stroking the ends of his mustache with his finger and thumb.
"Words are cheap. It is actions that carry! And every action the humans have taken has led to the suffering of our people!" Donnel scowls, slamming his fist down on the table.
"In a meeting such as this, words.are.everything." If he wants your attention so badly then he would have it.
You turn to him and stare him down, eyes trailed to the space between his eyebrows. There's not much space from how furrowed they are, almost connected in one thick line. Even if he does stand taller than Ser Clyde, compared to you he is a child. Out in the battlefield he would have you dead to right, there is no denying that, but here he is a victim.
"You bellow like a wounded boar when adults are trying to decide the fate of tomorrow. You have already made your intentions clear; you don't wish for peace so why are you still here? Why do you waste our time with your squeals and wails? If tomorrow comes and there is war know you had your hand in it. If it is peace that we decide I hope this memory burns into your mind forever. Ser Knight I ask of you, respectfully, to think - before - you - speak." Each word that spills from your lips is a dedicated strike. Unlike Donnel's sloppy swings, yours are honed. Trained to know where and how to strike to make it hurt.
You know you struck a nerve when you see the vein in his forehead pop, and his teeth grind so loudly that Jimmy stops playing that whimsical tune. Just as the final tune dies down in the room and your lips rest, he stands. He's taken the bait. Shown that he's not fit to be in this room.
"Ser Donnel. I gave you one, it seems you forget yourself still. Wait outside." Kyle's voice echoes like the roar of thunder. The storm is subtle right now, not yet at its full potential.
"But your Highness I-"
Kyle doesn't need to say more when a sigh escapes his lips Donnel stops. Freezes in place like ice was being directly pumped into his veins. From the way the knight next to him was glaring, maybe it was. Kyle waves his hand and said knight walks over to Donnel, all but grabs him by the forearm and walks out with him. The dark wooden doors behind you slam shut, muffling the sound of footsteps.
Jimmy resumes playing music like nothing happened. There was no fight, there was no look of disappointment. Just a council who took a second to breathe and the sound of his lute.
Pawn to E4
"Forgive me for calling recess early like this, perhaps we should all step outside and collect our thoughts. It would seem we were woefully ill prepared for your arrival." Kyle stands to his full height and addresses you with an even tone.
Each step he takes off his throne demands your attention, no spell on this earth could put you in a trance quite like him. The bright green healthy leaves beneath him float around the unseen gust of wind. They spiral around him before fluttering away to the patches of soft grass that make up the floor. The gold that flickers off his wings creates a light wherever he goes. You watch as it brightens and dims in time with his breathing, fading in and out but never fully going out. To call it a candle would be an insult.
When you don't stand like the other council members Clyde puts his hand on your shoulder; the iron gauntlet rests heavy. If it was one thing Clyde was, it was bold. You look up at him and offer a smile, the polite one that is expected of you. It's when he sees that dangerous glint in your eyes that he pulls back and offers it out to you instead.
Of course, you take it and bring yourself to your feet, straightening out your dress as you do. Patting down the fabric of your dress, you collect yourself. Regain composure and try to smile again. "Apologies Ser Clyde, thank you."
"You're fine, I just didn't want to be the next target of that tongue of yours. I thought when the Grand Wizard sent me here to escort you, the only thing I'd have to be on the lookout for was the occasional bandit. I didn't think you were actually going to make me do my job." He jokes to ease the tension.
While you don't find it funny by any means, you can appreciate the effort. "I thought I caught you in the corner of my eye dozing off, figured I'd wake you up a bit." The innocent tone in your voice does not match your smile.
"Madam you wound me. To imply that I, the Grand Wizard's one and only Red Cloak, would fall asleep in a meeting so very important. Why I'm hurt. I think you might need to step outside and remember yourself." He smirks down at you, bringing your hand up to his lips. "Perhaps we could go together? Enjoy the scenery?"
You laugh, it pulls an actual laugh from you. Again, it's not his joke that's funny but the fact that he's trying. Your laughter is brought to an abrupt halt as you pull your hand back. "No. It's adorable that you are trying though, I think a few lessons on how to court a woman and you might be in league well enough to try again."
Clyde feigns a pained look, but he lets go of your hand and that smirk returns. "Suite yourself, you know where to find me if you change your mind. Gods know I cannot say no to a beautiful woman."
"I know Ser Clyde. Many know."
"You're better off trying to seduce a vi-... a vi- ...a snake." Jimmy cuts into your conversation, ambulating over to where you stand.
"Ha!" Clyde doesn't bother to watch the volume in his laugh, fueling the bards stupid grin.
"Oh? And now two grown men must team up to try and attack me? Jimmy, my dear friend, I always said that someday you would go far. I only wished you had stayed there" You purse your lips at him and for the first time since you walked through the double doors you feel at ease.
"Oh~!" Clyde exclaims, bringing his fist up to his mouth. Of course, not to muffle the sound, but out of shock.
"It's funny you say that...I'd love to see your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my ass!" Jimmy grins at you and your brow twitches, visibly bounces in annoyance.
"It's good to see you again too darling." Your frown breaks and turns into a smile, laughter rings out like the sound of bells. Jimmy joins you in that and memories of better times come flooding back to you.
"Wait...so you guys are actually friends?" Clyde looks between the two of you with confusion on his face.
"So, where'd you find tall, dumb and ha...ha...handsome?" Jimmy asks as he rests back on his crutches, ignoring Clyde.
"The Grand Wizard sent him with me, he's been dutifully escorting me through the lands." You gibe with an eye roll.
"Hey! .... You think I'm handsome?" Clyde seems to reject any form of insult; it slides off him like a blade would a shield. Maybe you really were no match for this man.
After a moment of staring up at Clyde, Jimmy goes back to his conversation with you. "I see. Well, they say the dumb ones plow the-"
"Do.not.finish that sentence Valour. I swear on all that the light touches I will tell this courtroom of that night you drank Dragon's Fire and Elderberry Mead."
"Yo-... You wouldn't dare."
"Oh? You have little faith in those you call your people. Think they would listen to a viper?"
"They'd sooner listen to a viper than a human it seems."
You sigh and cross your arms over your stomach. Even if he is joking, there's truth to those words. A man would rather get himself thrown out than to listen to you, even if he was like a child, it still hurt. However you had a job to do, you'd come too far to let a tantrum stop you.
"Well maybe not all of them." Jimmy breaks you from your thoughts.
Your brows knit together in confusion when you see him turn and walk away again. No goodbye, no indicator that he would return, not even a snarky remark. From the corner of your eye, you see Clyde bow his head and put his arm over his chest, his fist knocks into the opposite shoulder.
It isn't until you feel a warm light on your back that you piece together who could get both men to act accordingly. Kyle stands towering over you and Clyde; it makes you wonder if that warmth is coming from his wings or the small smile on his face.
But even caught off guard like this you wouldn't allow yourself to panic. You turn back towards him and bow as you had when you first entered the courtroom. His hand comes down next to your face, offering it out to you with a silent nod.
He wouldn't make you panic, but he would catch you by surprise. You stare at the hand for a moment before taking it. You damn the hesitation in your movements, but he doesn't seem to notice; and if he did, he's courteous enough to not make a deal of it.
"Might I borrow her for a moment? I wish to speak with your diplomat a bit before we regather." He's addressing Clyde when he speaks.
Pawn to E6
"I um...I'm not really supposed to-"
You cut him off, as Kyle pulls you up from your bow. "I will be fine Ser Clyde. If his Highness wanted me dead, we would not have even made it into this room. I'd be honored to accompany you."
Queen to A4. Check
Kyle smiles again, this time it reaches those greens in his eyes. There's a little spark behind them, this silent game you're playing with him is entertaining. He can't recall if he's ever been this entertained with a headache, but it's impressive. Every part of him needs to know more about the source of both.
Bishop to D7
"I will return with her shortly, worry not." There's something in his tone that almost sounds like he's trying to be playful. If a fire could be playful, you'd think this is the closest it would sound like.
"Uh...yeah okay. I mean, of course Y-Your Highness!" Clyde stands there and watches as Kyle moves your hand to his arm. How small you looked next to him, and how the large robes he wore engulfed your hands.
The mask is quickly put back on, it was nice to breath while you could. Silence falls over you two as he escorts you through the castle. You catch glimpses of decorations and paintings hung high on the beautiful walls. Vines of ivy and grape leaves wrap around the columns in a tight hug. Passing art pieces that you would most likely never see again, yet all you can seem to focus on is the direction he's taking you.
Queen to C4.
Tucked in the corner of the board, Clyde stands there waiting for you to come back. He looks to the bard who simply offers him a friendly shrug. Jimmy gestures for him to walk over, making Clyde look behind him. The bard rolls his eyes and points to him with the crutch. Then to the spot next to him, in his corner of the board.
So far, two pawns have been removed.

Just thought I share some headcanons of my favorite fighter pilot Iceman :D
I have some Fanfiction on AO3 and some of them already have some of these headcanons in them or mention them so I thought I just share them with all of you ^^
I hope you enjoy them <3
- Has Russian heritage but was born the US, in Honolulu. Grew up in California
- His Babushka fled to America with her son, her husband died in Russia and never saw the US himself
- Ice has two sisters and two brothers ( I'm an IceMav shipper so I go with the headcanon that Sarah is his sister)
- He is the oldest and very protective of his siblings
- I also go with Val Kilmer's way and say that Iceman's father is not a great guy, pressuring his son into perfection but never being satisfied with any accomplishments
- Ice has a good relationship with his mother and siblings
- Adores his babushka and she adores him back, his siblings always tease him for being her favorite ( he denies it but deep inside he knows they're right)
- his babushka always tells him how much he resembles his dedushka
- Ice is a total family guy even though he isn't on good terms with his father, he will always say that family is forever
- is a perfectionist
- can speak Russian fluently
- only the women in his family can get away with calling him "Tommy"
- loves to read and has so many books, he could drown in them
- loves the movie "Airplane!"
- secretly loves singing but would never admit it
- loves to cook and bake
- his house the most clean space the flyboys have ever seen
- is also confusing the shit out of his guest by having the trashcan under the sink
- is a total animal magnet and he loves animals as well
- knows how to ride horses
- definitely played waterpolo in his teenage years
- Ice cold? Not when you know him and are in his inner circle. He loves physical attention, he loves to cuddle and he loves hugs but only from people that are really close to him
- has a huge sweet tooth but never tells anybody
- Needed to learn that his feelings and wants are just as valid as everyone else's (mav helped him a lot with that)
- was an A student in school ( caused by the pressure of his father)
- the first time Mav saw Ice cry was when the man accidentally broke his little finger in the car door
- allergic to coconut
- There is a certain look the Flyboys love to call "The Kazansky Look" because they always see that particular look on Iceman's face when he looks at Mav and funny enough Ice's mother, babushka and brother (who is already married) have the exact same look on their face when they look/ think at/about their significant other
-loves Billy Joel
-loves Slider like a brother and would do anything for him
-buys stuff for Mav and/or his friends/siblings out of the blue to show them how much they mean to him

While I am salty abt Rayyan’s lack of faith in our MC, I am also absolutely endeared by their consistent dedication to tennis and being the best ❤️ Their passion for the sport is definitely one of the reasons I’m attracted to them, and same goes for my MC. Their reaction to the doubles pairing is upsetting, but if you were aiming to make these characters feel real and authentic, then you nailed it! I’m happy Rayyan doesn’t change or give up their passion for the sport just because they’re starting to gain feelings for the new freshie. Tennis is their first love, not anyone else 😆 Rest assured though that my MC will still try to make them eat their words 😉
Ahh I'm glad Rayyan's response is something folks are thinking about and enjoying(?) To summarise, I think Rayyan has this almost obsessive fixation on tennis because they know how good they can be, and a lot of their self-worth is derived from that, for better or for worse. To the second anon, you're absolutely right in that this gives them a "standing at the edge of a cliff" feel to their frenetic, almost all-consuming passion/ambition.
Very long answer below hahaha :p do I psychanalyse all of my characters? Unfortunately... yes 🤣🤣 it's a blessing and a curse 😂
Tldr; Tobin and Rayyan have grown up with different family backgrounds and different experiences of being "othered", and this informs the way they react to big events.
Rayyan's family, as one of the only Egyptian (and Muslim) families in their neighbourhoods, are inevitably more isolated and insular--their family does their best to cling on to their traditions and religious beliefs and history, but this doesn't always help with assimilating to a new country. Rayyan has always felt alone, different, and have grown up learning to be independent, often with the mindset of taking on adversity alone. Hence their instinctive response to MC, and their dislike for doubles.
Being born into an immigrant family, Rayyan has also always felt as though they've had to prove themselves twice over: first to the outside world, then to their family--especially their father and grandmother who want nothing more than to see their child/grandchild succeed. Rayyan, as the oldest of the youngest generation, bears the responsibility of being the family's 'proof' of successful assimilation into America in some ways.
Rayyan is consumed by the need to do well at tennis and at school because it is tied not just to their own self-worth, but also their family's, by extension. So, they've always found it hard to accept anything less than perfect from themselves--there's just too much riding on them for them to "fail".
Tobin, in this IF, is a foil to Rayyan in that they deal with similar, but very different pressures of being a black athlete, but they respond in a very different way. Rayyan tends to focus on one thing and one thing alone: winning - the classic "I let my tennis do the talking". Tobin, on the other hand, has always prioritized people, over anything else.
Tobin's parents have always been very active and plugged into the African-American community where they live, and so Tobin has always felt like they belong squarely in the world they inhabit, unlike Rayyan. Tobin's parents are also big proponents of solidarity and kindness, so Tobin's stance has always been: the world's fucked up, but we're all in this fucked up world together.
Then there's also the dimension of their personality. Rayyan is hot-headed, almost brash, and they're also proud, fiercely independent, and distrustful of anyone not in their inner circle. On the other hand, by virtue of their charisma and more lighthearted demeanor, Tobin has always commanded/attracted/built their own "tribe". They're also far calmer and more laid-back than Rayyan, and their responses are always measured, thoughtful, and almost slow to act/anger--there's a con here too though, they often end up losing their own gut reaction in the midst of all that careful deliberation, not just of their own feelings, but everyone else's.
So in conclusion, CT:OS will always have its characters at the heart of it, and I've tried my best to give these characters rich and unique experiences and histories and ways of relating to the world.
That's not to say these characters aren't contradictory at times, and they will evolve through the course of the IF--MC will even have a big part to play in that, through their actions and words and the way they choose to interact with the characters.
As another ask mentioned, now that the characters are more fleshed out, I'm hoping a lot more of these dynamics can come into play! :) (oh dear, that got very long!)

Did Claire have any similar effect on Sebastian? How has he been permanently changed by their friendship
Oh, for sure. Claire starred in every single one of his short films from the moment they met each other in middle school. He probably saw her more often than he saw his siblings. They did everything together to an annoying degree. They were very important to each other... personally, but for their professional aspirations as well. Claire thinks she needs direction in life, and Sebastian thinks he needs a muse.
With that said, I think their separation was much more difficult to Sebastian than it was to Claire. In freshman year of high school they made plans of going to HWU together so they could make it together, and that was something he really held on to. Learning Claire not only would not go into Performing Arts, but that she'd also move away to San Francisco was... a moment to him! At that point, in his eyes, Claire had become inseparable from his art. This is interesting because it's something earnest (he did care a lot about Claire), but it's also idealising her/objectifying her; which fits in with her characterisation.
Claire was one of Sebastian's closest friends. I don't want to the say the only friend he had because that's painting him as more than a loser than he was... but it was something like that. They shared much of the same interests, liked the same movies, had the same jokes and the same opinions on things. Not having her around is weird. "Claire's" tendency of creeping into people's life little by little until she's the only thing there is not fun when it happens to YOU, emo boy. That's why I think he goes into a creative slump after Pluto, which is their last work together. What does he even have to say now?
Being in low spirits makes you the perfect victim for a cult, so I think that's what makes him join the Silver Circle. The promises of better opportunities and the idea of an Inner Circle that could make everything easier to him was interesting. Being assigned projects is easier when they're not coming naturally. Once he joined, though, he realised it was, well, a cult. So not what he idealised at all. He's quickly put on the sidelines and he doesn't do much with his career.
When Claire joins the Silver Circle he panics a little (a lot) since he does not want to see her going down the same path as him, but also because it's Claire in the flesh. I think it takes him two weeks to approach her. And I think it's talking to her again + his general dissatisfaction with basically being embargoed that pushes him into recording his doc exposing the Silver Circle. I do want to make him more selfish than the HWU MC here (which, lol): he's not doing this for the greater good. People will benefit from it, sure, but he's recording a documentary for a reason. The industry loves talking about itself.
So, how has he been permanently changed by their friendship?: linear path from meeting her in middle school to taking down a cult. Kinda.
#ask box#oc: sebastian ballion#oc: claire swanson#thinking. i find the picture of a weird emo boy trailing behind a cheerleader in a bright pink juicy tracksuit very funny#sebastian's main issues here is idealising + having trouble adapting to reality + getting morose over it. he has chronic apathy syndrome

For Aife: rep, strut (...you do eat people, right?)
For Alina: looming, gnash
For Cecily: siren, slosh
Prin: Oh haha yeah I'm uh. Letting Aife see. And I'm sure she won't say anything to publicly embarrass me, right? Right okay.
Aife: Thank you, dear. Before I provide my answer, I must first express my gratitude to you, asker, for this opportunity to contribute to my dearest Prin's little corner of the internet. I'll endeavor to do so in a manner that's satisfying for everyone involved, mm?
Oh don't look at me like that, sweetie. I'm not about to humiliate you. Quite the opposite.
Now, I do eat people, yes, but it's more of an occasional hobby for me. I have nowhere near the experience or skill that Prin flaunts almost daily. I'm learning so much from her, though, and I believe she'd agree I'm a quick study!
Now.
Rep: My inner circle is aware of my recent dabbling, but I don't advertise beyond that. While I wouldn't be ashamed to have it become part of my image, and it would surely earn me more fans of a certain persuasion, I doubt I would be able to satisfy the expectations that would arise. While Prin would doubtless devour hordes of adoring fans, I'm only proficient enough to manage a single occupant at a time. Prin has teased me about wasting my potential. I must admit to becoming rather flustered when she tells me in detail what she could accomplish with four stomachs!
Strut: Now, you might think that what I've said above means I don't prioritize my stomach in my choice of clothing, and historically I haven't. But recently, Prin has made me aware of just how sexy a stomach can be, and so I've made a habit of showing it more, if only as a treat for her. Of course, that's a far cry from publicly displaying a bellyful of, ah, girlmeat? As Prin would say. No, that's a fashion choice I reserve for the bedroom. There really is nothing like adding a third to spice things up~
Prin: WOW PERFECT TIMING Alina and Cecily just sent their answers to me so I'm going to post them up and then Aife and I are going to go . . . talk. Yeah. Yeah. No. I'm gonna go suck her dry and fall asleep on her tummy. Yeah.
Alina: Sorry in advance if this gets cut short but if I don't get back to monitoring the extractor soon the experimental group could end up too burnt to be worth eating when the test is over. Then I'd only have the control, and they're so scrawny this time. Barely a snack.
Anyway, um.
Looming: That's the one about the size of people I like to eat, right? Small. Easy. Simple to contain, manipulate, overpower, and swallow. And specimens of the proper size are abundant thanks to my peculiar physiological quirk. By maintaining an unobstructed line of sight with another creature, I slowly diminish their size. The effect wears off but not for a few hours. That's more than enough time for my stomach to break them down into their useful components. I'm fully capable of stomaching a much larger meal, but I have neither the spare time nor energy to devote to processing them.
Gnash: I don't make a habit of chewing, either. While I'm not adversely affected by the sight or texture of a body so mutilated by mastication, I find it an inefficient means of acquiring nutrients. Why spend time splattering someone around my mouth when I could just gulp once? All those nutrients are so helpfully packaged neatly in their container, why make a mess of it? And deprive myself of the squirms? Also-
SHIT I smell burning got to go
Cecily: Heya Prin. Your followers have some questions for me, huh? Careful, I might steal them away from you~
Siren: Fuck. Yes. I'm so glad this is one of the ones I got asked. This is like my whole thing. So like the way I see it, predators and prey have been in an evolutionary arms race forever. We need each other and we make each other better by constantly trying to outdo each other, right? Cool, you're with me so far. Well, using tools is like the latest, biggest, baddest incarnation of that, and I'm just using the tools I've got.
For those of you unaware, let me fix that. I'm a streamer. And a ton of sluts tune in to watch me lower my subscriber count for the world to see. I go live, someone goes dead. I run a little lottery on my channel. If you throw me some money, you get access to some fun bonus content, the real spicy stuff, and you're entered to win! Every week, one lucky morsel gets picked to pad out my ass. Now, legally, I can't make anyone sign anything that actually binds them to following through. But would you really say no and disappoint everyone? You know how they feel. Just last week you were them. Just one of the adoring masses, begging for my attention in chat, waiting all week to be satisfied. You gonna deny them that? You either go out on top as a hero or you live to see them all turn on you.
Don't blame me. I didn't make the internet this way. A huntress either takes advantage of the tools in front of her or she starves. A girl's gotta eat, right?
Slosh: This is the digestion time one, yes? Well what do you know, I've got a bunch of those timed down to the second. See, some of that bonus content I mentioned includes some time-lapse digestion footage. Laying around for hours and hours in front of a camera might sound tedious, but what else am I gonna do? Besides, I spend most of that time sleeping. I could get you an exact average, but it's easier just to say about two days. You could see for yourself, of course. Bet you'd love to watch me churn some nerds into sludge. And hey, what are the odds that your name comes up this week? It's barely a risk. C'mon, it'll be fun~

I’ve had a lot of thoughts since I’ve finally read the book and I’ve seen so much discourse about how the Inner Circle are really out of character in ACOSF as opposed to the other books, but here’s the thing:
The previous books are set from Feyre’s perspective - first person and all. So it doesn’t really seem all that surprising that the characters seem different. Rhys is her mate and the Inner Circle essentially saved her, so obviously she has a very positive view of the Night Court, it may also be that she’s seeing it through rose-tinted lenses. But Nesta doesn’t have that. She has a very negative view of them, which, to be honest, is entirely justified. Everything that they do and their treatment of her has her painting them in a really bad light. So a book from her POV is obviously going to be different.
And while we’re on the topic, I have to say that it’s not black and white either. It’s not this whole thing of Feyre was right, and Nesta was in the wrong or vice versa. They both made mistakes in really bad ways. Dealing with trauma is never easy and Nesta probably could have tried to handle it better, rather than lashing out at the people who were trying to help her. But the Inner Circle are pretty damn flawed, too, and Nesta saw that. They basically attacked her every time she called them out on their bullshit because they didn’t want to hear it. But nine times out of ten, she was absolutely right. Feyre and Elain could have done a lot more, Mor had no right to be as awful to her as she was, especially when you consider her own treatment of Azriel and Cassian, and do not even get me started on Rhys or we’ll be here all day.
Anyway, stan Nesta Archeron for clear skin.

I am the monster you created / Jinx in lyrics
@scrawlers hey, sorry since this is a sideblog - I'll make a note to answer you
I think that it's plausible that it's a song about Jinx and Vi but it never struck me as such. Or only as such since the lyrics of the song and the visual create more meaning - the lyrics are centred around Jinx - or around Jinx finally fully embracing being Jinx - but the music video adds more layers imo.
The songs in Arcane function just like musical numbers in Disney movies - just adult version, Disney holds one's hand of what the lyrics means with visuals always reinforcing them, still they're written specifically for the show and the lyrics are not random and nor are the visuals/context. Since here artists had much more freedom - the lyrics of songs actually function like in typical songs, so like poetry.
Firstly, until Vi shows up back into Jinx's life, she was a positive force even when absent. Jinx tells her as much:
Vi was the force that kept Powder, who grew up to be Jinx, alive. That is positive.
Their main issue the whole season is that Vi - being in complete arrested state for several years - can't extend full acceptance to who her sister now is. It's a shock to her, just as it's a shock to us the audience who only join in back on the story a day before Caitlyn rescues her. If the story was from Powder's pov we'd see her slowly growing around her trauma into Jinx and doing what Vi told her:
"What makes you different, makes you strong."
Secondly, imo. monsters have a very specific meaning in this story:
Monsters are beautiful but scary things, that Piltover has no idea about. And everyone can become one.
And this is what monsters will do once they're created:
Be scary enough that Piltover will never set foot and use force in Zaun again.
And this is the outcome of those two parts of what being a monster means, in Jinx's edition:
This is what Vi encourage but then in act 2 and 3 had problems showing unconditional love for who she became (for now).
But really Piltover created Jinx, or where she was born and raised created her, I think that's how it fits together because in Jinx vs Ekko fight song we get her pov lyrics:
I might, just might kick your butt Go run amok then paint my nails Never learned to raise my hand Was too busy raising hell Everything I know I am (...)
This is who Powder grew up into, who Jinx is
Pressure's rising fast as lighting they can't stop it now If you ain't talking realness then just change the topic now
This is one of her main issues with Ekko
They laughing at the top like they can't see the bottom And they thought I needed help but I got here without them
This is her second issue with Ekko, how he doesn't stand with her against Piltover.
Enemies circled around me three-sixty I count 'em one-eighty
This is about Piltover being her enemy, even if she has adversaries in the undercity. She only counts as her real enemies half of the circle - one side.
We only see, not for the lack of trying, Jinx kill people in Piltover or on the bridge - never in the undercity.
I've been in court with the spirit beside me since I was a baby Just getting chaotic y'all made me a product for causing the chaos right here where they raised me
She is the agent of chaos because where she was born raised.
She is not monster and agent of chaos because of Vi, thou Vi thinks that is the case, she is one because where she was born and raised.
Silco aways thought the monsters were beautiful even if scary, and his own child 'monster' is just as perfect. So onto the second part of being a monster via Silco's idea of them:
I am the monster you created
Vi set Jinx on the path of embracing her strengths, her inner monster something both beautiful and scary.
You ripped out all my parts
But the next verse, instead of showing us Vi and Jinx - shows us her powering up the weapon to bomb Piltover. Because it's Piltover who ripped out all her parts, in chronological order:
1. Her parents - her father and mother - because of quelling rebellion with deadly force
2. Her secondhand family - the father figure and siblings - by pressuring Greyson to find culprits
3. Her third father figure - thanks to the peace conditions and before the escalating tensions no one in the council addressed
4. And when her sister came back she is not the same, she has changed, so old Vi whose voice picked her up for years is also gone - because Marcus locked her up for years
Those were all her parts, Powder "lost" her last part of Powder's family - the old Vi.
Now it'll be changed Powder and changed Vi, and they can figure how to be sisters again.
And now she's going to scare them, just like Silco planned for his monsters.
This is what Jinx will become once the rocket hits - the scary thing that no one in Piitover knew existed.
I want you to hurt like you hurt me today and
This is where the lyrics land for Jinx, these are the people that started the chain of her misery and also her onto the path of becoming the monster.
I want you to hurt like you hurt me today and I want you to lose like I lose when I play
Make no sense to me if addressed to Vi, make all the sense that she'd want Piiltover to loose like she lost first time her monkey bomb worked
But moreover the lyrics are intercut with vignettes of other characters, and imo. the lyrics for them are chosen to fit future parts or future realisation of the characters, because if ie. they were switched around, they'd just sound awkward contextually.
Example lyrics:
Sevika: Why don’t you love who I am? (note: no like romantically, but as a person sharing Silco's cause) What we Could Have Been
Ekko or Heimerdinger: I am your ghost, a fallen angel You ripped out all my parts
Singed or Warwick: I couldn’t care what invention you made me
Now as an exercise, if the lyrics here were:
I couldn’t care what invention you made me Why don’t you love who I am?
It'd make very little sense, but with "I couldn’t care what invention you made me" there are 4 layers of possible meaning: 1. Jinx towards Singed saving her life 2. Warwick towards Singed 3. Orianna his daughter towards her father if it's her in the locket and they both turned her into automaton 4. Singed towards Piltover if the Academy actually hushed up or made up false claims why he was thrown out of there - for being jaded academic, not because of his daughter
Because imo. the monster song starts with Jinx's painfully embracing she is Jinx, her monster side, but visually with lyrics the story expands to foretell other character's parts.
I mean that's how music videos, even ones telling basic concepts like Britney Spears & Madonna's - Me Against The Music (yep, this is my music taste) - construct narratives. There's lyrics / visual "Kuleshov Effect" (well it's not Kuleshov effect but the jist of creating meaning by not the single shot just the 2 parts together) between the visuals and what is said in the poetry.
I mean that's how I'd do it but I don't think theory since my art school and working briefly on music videos in the industry changed much. It's always better to create meaning/new quality with combination of visuals and spoken words/music. And Fortiche is much better than I could have ever been.
Because imo, most character's will share part of Jinx's story in terms of own character arc, but mostly the other scientists/engineer's.

Years have passed since the the slates were destroyed and everyone's life is moving on. The dead characters get to visit the living world as ghost who can't speak to any of the still alive characters but they could talk to the other ghost. For a few days they get to see what the world has become and watch how the loved ones they left behind are doing. Nothing's perfect but in the end, their loved ones are happy and so they're satisfied.
Isn’t this a bit like what happened in Circle Vision, except I guess actual ghosts this time instead of whatever was going on there. Assuming the ghosts can’t be seen by anyone either, maybe this is an Obon thing and everyone actually did get to come visit their loved ones. Like imagine Homra is setting up things for Obon a few years after the end of ROK and Anna kinda looks up at one point with this thoughtful look on her face. Kusanagi asks if she’s okay and she smiles and says it’s nothing. Floating nearby Ghost Totsuka notes that of course Anna would sense they were there, hasn’t she grown up to be a good girl. Ghost Mikoto is smoking a celestial cigarette and just looking down on everyone, he nods and says he figured they’d be okay. Totsuka says Kusanagi looks like he’s doing well too, he’s busy as always. There aren’t any drinks left on the counter though, waiting for people who can’t drink them, and Titsuka complains that here he was thirsty. Mikoto smiles and says it’s fine though isn’t it, that Kusanagi doesn’t need to put those out anymore. Totsuka smiles gently and says that’s true, King was especially worried about Kusanagi but here it seems there was no need after all. Mikoto denies being worried but he says that’s fine, the living shouldn’t be looking back at the dead all the time. Totsuka agrees and says he supposes they should go, unless Mikoto wants to check on the Blue King first. Mikoto smirks and says that guy will be fine too, he doesn’t need ghosts watching him (over at Scepter 4, Munakata sneezes and goes back to his puzzle, with ghost Kusuhara quietly expressing his gratitude beside him).
Meanwhile Sukuna’s stopping by where jungle’s hideout used to be, with some flowers for Hisui. Maybe Douhan is there too accompanying him, just to keep an eye on him while Yukari is elsewhere, and Sukuna’s just quietly looking unsatisfied as he sets the flowers on the ground. He’s gotten taller and maybe he’s learned some things but he doesn’t want Hisui and Iwa to be forgotten either, he feels like someone should be here to mourn them. Ghost Hisui is watching and thinks that even if his dream failed he’s hopeful Sukuna has found a new dream he can believe in. Iwa leans against him and says the kid should be fine, Iwa wishes they could have taught him more but there’s only so much time any person has after all. Hisui agrees, saying that what they ultimately wanted was for people to be happy and at least Sukuna seems to be on his way to achieving such a thing.
Yukari himself is over at Ichigen’s grave when Kuroh walks up with his own flowers to deliver. Yukari greets him and Kuroh notes that this is a time of year for ghosts, isn’t it. Yukari is curious if Kuroh believes in such things and Kuroh says he doesn’t know, but he’s felt a few presences gently watching over Shiro and Neko in the last few days. Yukari laughs a little but doesn’t say anything against that, just noting that Kuroh seems to have his own sense of inner beauty as well, to feel such things. Kuroh says he’s still weak in many ways but he’s growing, and he hopes that any presence watching over him is pleased. Yukari teases him for being so serious and then notes that the air is gentle here, as ghost Ichigen moves to give them both a quick embrace before floating away in the wind.
#k project#Talking K#there was that comic with Circle Vision where Kusuhara showed up that this reminded me of#I think they would all be satisfied that everyone is happy#well maybe Mikoto visits Munakata after all#to use his ghost powers to steal one last puzzle piece :3

'Ello! Pardon my inactivity but I do have a request for thee, could I have an Albert Wesker x Reader where both he's teaching the reader some new combat moves (even though her job doesn't require doing so) and while they're training she manages to pin him down which results in him "rewarding" her? Apologies for this being long!
Albert Wesker x F!Reader
Warnings: smut
Ever since they started dating Wesker wanted to teach y/n some self-defence techniques, because he wanted to make sure she is safe without him and it was also part of his job. Staying almost everyday after hours, training the mew recruits, RPD became his second home. If he feels he is capable of, he goes to the gym as a method to relive some stress. Not to mention, he realised how much he missed the presence of another human being until his lover came to train with him.
It was late, not an usual hour for training, but Wesker likes the privacy. Since he doesn’t spend much time at his own house, he didn’t made his own gym, so he either goes to RPD or the one from Umbrella.
It became a routine for them. Even if her job doesn’t require combat training she is grateful for this opportunity. Wesker is an incredible fighter and teacher and has a lot of patience with her. Over time they advanced and now they fight to pin each other to the ground.
The size difference was noticeable, but that wasn’t necessary a bad thing. Albert was taller and stronger belittling y/n maybe without intention. He taunted her on purpose just to piss her off so she could lose focus, then putting her on the ground was easy. He didn’t fall with all his weight on her, he didn’t want to crush her. Dirty thoughts crossed Albert’s mind as he saw her underneath him, squirming and groaning to get free form his release. Albert was sitting on top of her, resting his weight on her chest while griping her shoulder, holding one of her arm in place, with one hand and the other was on the ground. Her arm was uncomfortably staying between his shoulder and the arm that was gripping her shirt, the other was on the ground. If she was quicker she could’ve grabbed his leg and stop him from continuing the move. Albert was near her ear and couldn’t resist the opportunity to tease her a little more. He was holding his hands keeping her in a more powerful grip, from which it was impossible to escape.
“You would’ve been robbed 3 times by now.”
“Not everyone is a trained policeman with military experience.”
He let a deep chuckle inside her ear and released his grip.
“We’re going to do this one more time, then we can call it a day.”
“I don’t understand why we need to do this, it’s not like someone will attack an accountant out of the blue.”
“I think i explained you this. I want to you to be prepared for anything, even if there aren’t many crimes going around. You should thank me.”
“For teaching me, or for the low crime rate?”
“Shut up.”
Wesker chraged towards her and this time without any restraint. When his fist was about to hit her face, she lowered herself at his chest level, placed one hand on his lower thigh and the other on his back and lifted his leg up spinning him around, then dropping him on the ground. A very confused Wesker was now laying on the floor, processing what happened. He was sure she will fail this time, but when he came back from his confusion , pride and joy conquered his mind. His girl did it. Y/N saw he was dazed and she kneeled next to him worried he might hit his head too hard.
“Did i throw you too hard?”
“No, i received stronger hits.”
“Are you that impressed then?”
“Yes.”
Y/N left out a small chuckle and gave him a small kiss on his sweaty forehead, putting back in place a few strands of hair.
“He looked so good when he’s like this” she thought while running her fingers through his blond hair, admiring his exhausted form. His cheeks were red, his breath heavy, in other words, he wasn’t the perfect guy anymore. Sometimes his impeccable appearance pissed her off. Everyone has bad days, but not him. Moments like this were a treasure to her.
A small moan left his mouth when y/n grip tightened on his scalp.
“You like pain, don’t you?” Y/N was surprised when she felt his long, thick fingers moving on her inner thigh. Wesker was squeezing her flesh and was going painfully slow up to her clothed core.
“Big boy was pinned down and now he wants attention?”
“I don’t mind”
She moved the hand from his scalp, caressing his soft white skin down to the elastic band of his shorts, playing with the laces while extending his agony. She playfully inserted a finger inside, just as deep as the elastic band was, and kept pulling it. She took a glance over her shoulder and could see his erection growing.
“Do you want some comfort down there, big guy?” She said while teasing the area just above the growing member with her fingertips.
Wesker let out a shaky “please”, the other hand moved alongside to pull the tank top, enough to reveal his hardening nipple. It didn’t take long for her lips to make contact with the skin, while the other hand went deeper to explore his hot member. She grabbed it and began to stroke him gently, her fingers barely touching around his girth, while her tongue drew circles around his nipple. Wesker was struggling to pull off her leggings so he could slide a few fingers inside her. Y/N noticed and helped the poor man. In a few seconds she resumed her actions, this time half naked while Wesker was working fanatically her core. The idea of being caught excited them both, and they didn’t have any intention to speed things up. The room was filled with their dirty moans.
Wesker was making scissor motions with his fingers inside her. She needed to be well prepared to take him whole. Y/N increased the speed as well, going up and down to his ball sack, then up again. His shaft was soaked in his own precum, and his nipple was red and swollen by all the sucking.
“Say, do you want to spice it up, Y/N?”
“What do you mean?”
“Sit on my face.”
She immediately removed her leggings and panties and rested her wet core on his face, feeling his hot breath on her lips. His tongue began to spread her folds and feel the salty liquid that was dripping on his tongue. He raised his hips a little to allow y/n to remove his clothes too, revealing his hard member. The chill air made it throb, but it was soon engulfed by her hungry mouth. Well, how much she could because he was really long and thick. She covered his tip with her tips, then she proceeded to go slowly down his length taking more and more until the tip hit the back of her throat. The she stopped and pulled back, only to go down again, accommodating with the length. Meanwhile, Albert had his big thumb pressed on her clit and his tongue deep buried in her hole, licking around the contracting walls. Precum started to leak down her throat and he began to throb in her mouth. Y/N removed herself and Wesker whined in protest, trying to put pin her down again.
“Haven’t learned your lesson?”
Y/N stand up and turned around so she could sit on his cock. She was well warmed up and near edge, so with a quick thrust Wesker filled her insides. Y/N felt so full that it was unbearable. His shaft constantly hit her spot and tears began to drip down her cheeks from the overstimulation. Wesker was close too, she could feel him throb inside. She threw her head back, her vision went dark for a few seconds and all the tension that was building in her abdomen, stomach, and chest was released as she came hard on his cock. Her contractions helped Wesker reach his release too, he grabbed her flesh so hard that it turned red under his fingers so he could hold her in place. Y/N collapsed on his chest with his shaft still inside her.
“I will beat you up more frequently.”
“Oh dear, you’ll have to try harder from now on.”
“Don’t you like rewarding sex?”
“I like sex in my bed to be honest.”
He had a point. With all the adrenaline and arousal gone, self consciousness made it’s way in their minds. They were in the RPD, late, and anyone could enter the gym. Wesker pulled out, a mixture of their cum and sweat combined dripping down her thighs. He took a towel and cleaned around her core and helped her stand up. After a quick kiss on the lips, they both headed to the locker room. Hopefully, they haven’t met anyone on their way there, nor on their way to the parking lot. It was indeed a quiet city.

This is probably a tall order, but I was wondering if you could do some general personality headcanons for the Deadly Six from Sonic Lost World? It hurts my heart that the characters weren't more popular, but I can understand why at the same time since they're not that fleshed out. I mean, there's hints of stuff here and there, it's just not much. But the zeti have potential, damn it! Let me know if you want some specifics on things, of if you wanna do this in pieces. Thanks for your time~
WORLD BUILDING! World building and character building is my ham so I’m thrilled to do this! This actually become significantly longer than intended.
So I have never played this game, so I’m basing this exclusively off a few cutscenes I managed to find and general initial impressions. Let me know if you want something more in-depth!
Deadly Six reimagined (Sonic Lost World)
General
The Zeti race as a whole is referred to as “demons” with the Deadly 6 appearing to be the deadliest of their species. Heavily implied in the game is the fact that the Zeti are a lethal, violent race taking pride in practiced malevolence.
An entire race being evil or amoral is not only an outdated trope, but one with really icky origins so knackers to that I’m throwing in some of my own world building.
Based on how the Deadly 6 are all either disciples of or literally Master Zik, the reimagined!Zeti race is less malevolent so much as focused on attainment of glory and recognition. Every person is expected to discipline themselves into a strong, powerful being capable of great achievements. Competition is rampant with rivalry being imposed from a young age.
Despite rivalry, those who study under a common Master consider themselves as a structured force or clan representing their Master and his/her/their ideology. Master Zik in particular holds the ideology of complete domination of foes and enforcing the strength that already exists. Those who come across his clan often get the impression the Zeti exist to conquer when really, it is only in response to what is done to them to remind people not to mess with them.
Zeti are driven by the goals of communal recognition; challenges make individuals stronger, thus reinforcing the people as a whole. Spar-matches and challenges are inherent in the society. Clans and individuals alike compete to bring glory.
But. There is an unspoken rule amongst the Zeti that keeps things from ever turning to a full blood bath. Zeti do not turn against their own Clan or family (both if they are one in the same as is the case with many). The idea of any Zeti attacking a sibling in learning or a relative is unheard of - any who did that are considered dishonorable and risk expulsion as a whole from society.
Master Zik
Utter the name “Zik” in any Zeti plaza. Previous foes will wilt in cowardice. Pride from their allies puffs up further. The average Zeti, neither friend nor foe, will still be able to share a tale or two of one of the greatest warriors to have ever trained.
In a society focused on discipline and achieving greatness, Zik went above expectations. Bars he set have but rarely been neared. Until Zavok, most were largely considered impossible to meet.
Zik is a unique Zeti. Warriors do set Clans up to welcome new students and carry on their name, but Zik is not an easy master. His ideology of domination is standard but his ideas of strength are incredibly unique in a world where weakness is to be quelled and trained away. Zik believes that the inherent strength within an individual should be harnessed instead of ignored. Any skill can be made combative if one knows how to master it completely.
In all his years Zik took on only a handful of students, with only 5 ever making it into his inner circle and being official members of his Clan. He is not an easy teacher.
Obstacles are nothing to this little Zeti. He has faced a lifetime of challenges due to his small stature and his unique powers. Strategy, cunning and an overwhelming drive to be strong allowed him to rise above the ranks. Any challenge he faces he knows has a solution - it is a difficult task to actually perturb him to the point of nerves.
It’s specifically because of his lifetime of difficulties that he taught all his students to eradicate their foes so thoroughly. Too many times his mercy let to more foes than needed. Crush a foe and all they hold dear, and no one will ever come to avenge their broken ashes.
Zik views himself as a father figure turned advisor to the group. In his heart of hearts, they are his pride and joy. He could not leave them. Bedridden and frail he’s still drag his way alongside them to keep these youngsters of his on the right path.
Zomom (First Disciple)
Zomom is the eldest of Master Zik’s student, being the first welcomed into Zik’s inner circle. This is a matter of great pride for him and makes him very protective of the others as a result. Zavok holds the title of leader but it is no secret that the eldest of the students holds his fellow disciples close to his heart much how an older brother might view his siblings.
Zomom knows a lot about the other members of the team. They feel comfortable around him one-on-one, often using him as a quiet listener to talk through their thoughts.
Zomom is a strange Zeti. By height and strength he should have been a popular choice amongst his people. Yet his lack of common sense and social norms made it difficult to fit into society’s definition of a good warrior. The perceived lack of discipline in terms of food also earned him backlash from others. Emotional manipulation is an effective way of ensuring they didn’t have to fight the giant warrior physically.
It was his sincerity, his genuine sense of being and wanting to learn, that made Master Zik bring him in as a student, then disciple. Zomom is genuine, true person who could not tell a life to save his life but still tries so hard to survive in a world where lying is viewed as not just acceptable but required in some social circles. Zik saw his food abilities and build, before tailoring his training to include more food intake and improve speed.
Most affable of the Deadly 6, Zomom may be the butt of the joke at some times but they would all be furious should any harm befall him. Zomom’s willingness to shrug off insults does not sit well with any of them and they will gladly take the place of his vengeful fury to ensure it does not happen again.
Seeing one or two of the Deadly 6 relaxing with Zomom when they are burned out or want to slow down is common.
Zazz (The Second Disciple)
This is a case of a master forcibly adopting a feral child than a student asking a master to teach them. Zomom who was there the day Zazz was brought in to be taught is the only one besides Zik who knows why the Master took such a shining to Zazz, though the most he ever says on the matter is “It was like looking at a silly mirror.”
Zazz is almost the perfect Zeti. Intensely strong, with an immense battle-hunger. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more terrifying opponent. The issue lies with that same battle hunger that would make them popular in other circumstances. The whole point of the Zeti’s competitiveness is that it is, somehow, disciplined and the result of self-control/personal growth. Zazz’s entire motivation can be summed up as “because I want to.”
Zazz is very much a wild child turned wild adult with a lot of energy to burn. The ideas of the Zeti bore them a lot - why should they spend time proving himself when everyone’s so much weaker than them? They’d rather be seeking out good opponents or filling theirs time doing things that feed his ever-flickering attention.
Despite their very intense personality, Zazz is fiercely protective of the clan. They’re the only ones to really indulge Zazz’s wide range of interests and teach them a few of their own. One day they may be with Zeena learning new techniques to make their appearance fiercer, the next they’re in the shadows with Zor learning a shadow technique that will absolutely scare the shit out of Master Zik, this time for sure!
Picks up skills like a dog gets fleas. They’re not a master at any of them but the way they’re able to combine them makes them a fearsome opponent, a lethal prankster and find something to connect over with anyone.
Zeena (The Third Disciple)
Female-identifying Zeti are held to the same standard as any other Zeti so her presence in the Clan isn’t entirely unexpected. However, many Zeti tend to prefer Clans of their own gender out of comfort or outright preference.
Youngster Zeena, known for her cold intensity, had her pick of the litter in terms of Masters - her tethering abilities made her a powerful long-distance opponent, and her technology skills make her a verifiable weapon powerhouse. Her choice to go for Master Zik was a surprise, but Zik accepted her.
In truth, she went for Master Zik because she didn’t want to just be a long-distance specialist. She wanted a Master who could hone her abilities to be used in more creative ways. Zomom and Zazz’s successes got her attention.
With Zik she learned to use her tethering abilities to completely control the field. Able to move quickly, redirect her opponents and load the battle field with her varied arsenal, facing off against Zeena is incredibly difficult.
Always looking to perfect her abilities as the “Perfect Zeti Fighter” Zeena spends a lot of time perfecting her body to make it superior to other Zeti. Outside of that in her lab she’s developing new weapons with distinct abilities to use in combat. Bouncy bombs, whips with unique charges - she’s offered to create some for the rest of the team, but they’ve only accepted limited help.
Zeena views herself as the pinnacle of Zeti power, with the ability to do more. She holds the rest of the Deadly 6 to the same standard and is not above offering weapons advice or ways to improve their appearance to terrify their enemies into a stupor.
Zor (The Fourth Disciple)
Zor was not expected to succeed. There are many ways to be considered a successful Zeti - strength, speed, smarts. Lurking in the shadows is not traditionally viewed as particularly impressive. Zor’s inclination to the shadows made him unpopular in the society.
In turn, this made Zor dislike society as a whole and develop a severe nihilistic attitude that continues to plague him to this day. Why should he trust a system that failed him so badly anyway? It is ultimately pointless.
Zor didn’t so much as join the Clan as he was chased into the clan. Lurking in his shadows he didn’t know of the tall Zeti whose attention has zeroed in on the very interestingly-moving shadow until Zazz had already begun to give chase. Master Zik hadn’t a clue what to make of the huffy Zeti his Second Disciple had under his arm, but if Zazz saw talent in this one, it was worth exploring.
Zor’s abilities as a spymaster make him a vital part of the group. His abilities contribute to that but it is his powers of observation and deduction that really lend themselves to this role. Having been a spectator to his society for most of his life, he has developed powerful strategies to collect information at a mass scale - needless to say, trying to keep a secret from him is difficult.
The main introvert of the group, Zor struggles to be with them all at once. While he likes each one of them just fine (good luck getting him to say that) their overall energy can be overwhelming. He prefers to be with one-three people at a time to preserve his social energy.
Zavok (The Final Disciple)
Societies have ideal standards people strive towards. Often impossible to achieve, they’re viewed more as a lifetime goal than a realistic achievement. Those who do manage to hit it are considered to be above others as they command respect. Amongst the Zeti, that impossible person is Zavok.
Zavok himself comes from an impressive lineage - all the Zeti before him have been great warriors, commanders, people filling leadership roles. Each generation of greatness placed more expectations upon the next and as an only child, Zavok had no one to share these burdens with. He exceled at them, but it was not the glory he sought. He wanted to great his own reputation free of his past.
The announcement of Zavok’s self-imposed expulsion from his lineage shook Zeti society to its core. His subsequent request to become Zik’s pupil further shook everyone, but Master Zik did have a penchant for collecting odd students. What was one more lost warrior seeking purpose?
Zavok evolved far beyond anyone could have guessed under Master Zik’s tutelage. Part of this was due to his own upbringing, but it truly was Zavok’s own determination and fast mind that let him adapt to Zik’s unusual forms of training. He wanted to become indomitable and he would do whatever it took to do so....
...But, he wasn’t quite perfect. Zavok is a brilliant minded individual, but upon reaching the inner circle, he realized that he was incredibly unused to working in a group. It took a great deal of time, self-reflection and humbling for him to become the leader he is to do, due in part to his own hang-ups he thought he had left behind with his family.
With time, he grows to respect each team member and view them as close family. Upon Zik’s retirement and Zavok’s ascension to the head of the Clan, Zavok was the undisputed respected and admired leader of the Clan, holding each of them in high regard and daring anyone to try and take what they had built.

Disclaimer: I accidentally fell in love with gye so just bare with me🙏 I didnt plan for that
Another underrated pair for @bonknanab 💖💕💖💕💖
Gyechan
First thoughts holy shit all the earth. But gye cancer venus MY HEART this boy is so soft bye. A whole marshmallow. Also the amount of taurus too, this boy LOVES cuddling. But so does minchie cuz virgo AND leo = cuddles sooooo. Leo moon. Makes sense.
Suns
Gye: taurus. Earth, really steady and strong, very consistent/ dependable. They rely on their senses to experience the world. Like the care a lot about how things feel, taste, smell. Catch them wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket. They can be possessive, they love their things a lot and want to protect them. But this can carry over to people too, they like to possess their loved ones, like have ownership of them. It helps them feel secure. It's just so cute oml😭 tangent: this is why kangmin feels so comfy with the and he's his favorite. He's just a kid with a ton of emotions (scorp moon) and gye is just so stable and reliable, that "I've got you I'm not going anywhere" energy that kangmin needs. I'm a sap leave me alone. But they hardly get jealous. Can be pretty stubborn and slow moving. They dont like change and dont like changing their mind. Slow to start, especially if they're comfy, they might just lay in bed all day😂
Min: Virgo. Hardworking, love being knowledgeable about things/ learning about them. Sensitive to their surroundings. Can be shy with new people but when comfortable theyll talk forever. They love to be appreciated and useful. Prone to worry, they tend to be pretty responsible. They love to be doing something and can get restless when they arent. Can be perfectionists because they want to do things the best they can. They're very aware of their bodies. Very curious and love to explore, great observers. They can be pretty hard on themselves 😭 They can be very proud of the way they do things. Can be big sweethearts and are always ready to help.
Moon
Gye: Taurus: ay it's me🤝 So a lot of the same as the sun, but this is the core, his emotions. These people have a super calming aura, you just kind of feel wrapped in a blanket. They love consistency and home. They put down deep roots. Can be a bit oblivious and avoid messy/ chaotic displays. Can be conservative. Deep emotions, affection, sentimental. Romantic but do like taking risks with the first move. Really good instincts. Really good sense of smell?? They really stick with things, dont run when things get hard. Once they're in, they're in for the long haul. It takes a lot to actually bother them.
Min: Leo. This is why he likes being on stage even though virgos tend to be behind the scenes types. They really love entertaining those they're close too and are often a comedian. They kind of like to control their inner circle. Strong desire to create and entertain but can be a bit lazy, possibly bossy too. They need a lot of love and attention to function😭 They can be really dramatic if they get offended but they dont like public displays, they save that for home😂 Stubborn, needs time to adjust to changes. They strive for fairness and hate following orders.
Mercury
Gye: taurus. Istg what is this man
Say it with me kids stub👏born👏
Slow moving, think through decisions. They seem lazy because of just how long it takes them to decide something😂 Slow to start things... Sensual again. Slow communication, everything is deliberate. Very practical so people take them seriously. Can be pretty sarcastic and funny. Pleasant voices. Practical in learning too, they need to have real world examples or know how it affects them.
Min: virgo😂. Likes order/ control, gets uneasy when it's not. Detail oriented. LOVE when appreciate their intellect. Very good at taking care of the day to day. They can be impatient with others because they think they do things best. Helps others by taking care of the little things.
Venus
Gye: cancer. UWU. We've got a marshmallow guys.
Ok so Sensitive in love, they like commitment and dependability. Theyll give you security, comfort and care. They show their love by caring for you. They crave safety. They watch their loved ones emotions. This is a big 180 after all the Taurus. They can be moody to get attention oml. Either this is really toned down from the taurus moon or im blind. It's hard for them to forgive/ forget if you've hurt them (same with the taurus moon so☠) They can retreat/ hide to care for themselves. God this is like taurus but extra soft😭 Ok so strong attachment to family and home. Sentimental, love snuggling😭 They need to feel secure and have a strong fear of rejection/ abandonment.
Min: virgo. Good lord. Not flirty. Tries to win someone over with devotion and showing them a ton of attention. Cautious, slowly makes his way into their heart. Sensitive and insecure in love😭 They need to know feelings are mutual before they make a move..... Can childishly tease their crush💆🏼♀️ But they have good intentions. They arent attracted to show offs, they like understated, unnoticed people. These people love quietly helping and doing the little things. You'll win them over if you recognize their efforts, they just want to be appreciated.
Mars
Gye: libra. Out of left field fr. Oop indecisive yet again. He's so lucky theres not a ton of fire in this group or I swear people would kill him. I'm sure dongheon and hoyoung have gotten impatient before tho cuz damn. Anyway they really like to weigh all their options. Overwhelming desire for balance. They're generally optimistic, and can be defensive. Can play innocent. Passive aggressive 💆🏼♀️. Very good mediators.
Can be incredibly charming. The pickiest lovers and desire equality it every aspect.
Min: leo. A strong creative energy and the feeling their life has significant meaning and purpose. Very passionate. Driven and normally have a set path. They have an air of authority and power. Lol they demand loyalty and admiration in their relationships. Can get fired up when they feel wronged or defensive. But they're really kind and driven by the heart.
Eye.
*skip for s*x mentions* do like idek how to say this. But like they want to be seen as godlike, worshipped. But they also want to worship the other person. Likes an imbalance of power. Show off. Possessive + jealous but tries to hide it. But everything is laced with love and affection.
Notes:
Gye's steadiness could really help min to calm his worry.
it's great that it takes a lot to actually annoy him cuz...we all know minchie 💕
Omfg they're both kinda lazy😂 Lazy morning cuddles let's goooo.
Ok but gye could very much be oblivious to mins need for love/ compliments etc. Cue that clip gye had to compliment min and it was short but min was like that's all?? And the was like Oh! And just kept on going. So cute. Like he has to problem expressing his affection but min literally needs to physically say how much he needs😂😂
They both hate change and surprises so🤝
Ok but minchans venus is kind of perfect for gyes cuz he needs that stability. But gye would probably be thrown at first if minchan wasnt being obvious. Theyd be really cute together but the challenge would be getting together.
Honestly they seem super soft and comfy (probably mostly behind the camera rip) earth babies but also playful and precious. As the 2 earth signs in the group (and with a ron of earth placements too) they could really find solace in each other and I think that's so sweet💕

My Sorting Hat Chats System Debutante (Scooby-Doo Housing)
I found a new favorite toy.
The @sortinghatchats personality system is so incredible. It does exactly the thing that frustrated so many that MBTI couldn't do: actually describe your personality. MBTI is wonderful for understanding a person's thought process and mind, but, as anyone who really knows MBTI knows, it can only tell you so much about how a person will actually behave in life. And while still plenty useful, most people go into personality typing to try and discover the different ways we actually behave in life, not just the way our minds thrum along.
I highly recommend looking up how the system works if you don't know, but essentially everyone gets a PRIMARY and a SECONDARY house. The primary house speaks to the WHY we do things and the secondary speaks to the HOW, referring to problem solving. This system is also unique as it accounts for the elasticity of the human mind by introducing things like MODELS, PERFORMANCES, BURNT HOUSES, and even the recently suggested EXPLODED HOUSES (I first heard of this through @wisteria-lodge . If they didn't think of it first, please let me know who did!) I'm not going to take the time to explain those in full here, though I may reference some of them below, and would direct you to both of the aforementioned blogs to learn more.
So, I'm doing my first housing venture using the system, and I've become recently re-obsessed with Scooby-Doo, so I thought they'd be perfect to practice/demonstrate. I'd love any criticisms or suggestions! Thanks!
Scooby-Doo Housing!
Fred Jones: Gryffinpuff (Gryffindor Primary, Hufflepuff Secondary)
Fred is a great example of a Hufflepuff Secondary. He is a hardworker and, most importantly, is heavily invested in the gang. He's always at their side and expects them to be at his. He balks at the idea of taking shortcuts on mysteries and would rather work all night than besmirch the good name of Mystery Inc with shoddy work. But, the gang is his life more than any other member, because as a Puff Secondary, he sees them as extensions of his own hands and ability to hell others. He has a great balance between the "acts of kindness" Puff Secondary and the "hardwork and toil" Puff Secondary. In fact, his Hufflepuff Secondary is so strong, I almost thought he was a True Hufflepuff. But, a great indicator of difference between Gryffindor Primaries and another primary whose motives they align with is whether they would allow other people to live the way they want. Fred is a big time believer in justice, fairness, and helping other people, but he would not be comfortable knowing someone else disagrees and no one could argue him out of those beliefs. An actual Hufflepuff Primary may quietly disagree, but Puff Primaries, by nature, believe in allowing other people to live how they want, and they would never cause a ruckus over a hypothetical. Unless you're actively hurting someone emotionally or physically, a Puff will leave you alone. But, not Fred. Fred has that Gryffindor Primary fire that he needs to share with the world and he cannot be wavered.
Daphne Blake: Ravenpuff (Ravenclaw Primary, Hufflepuff Secondary)
Daphne and Fred get along best through their secondaries, though Daphne is a better example of the "acts of kindness" Puff Secondary. She is always looking for an opportunity to help someone or make someone happier or more comfortable, like carrying around Scooby Snacks for the boys, and she is almost as invested in the gang as Fred. But, compared to Fred, Daphne gives off a less passionate and fiery vibe; in fact, she is far more even-keeled and level-headed than any other member of the gang, in my opinion. She is difficult to ruffle and has a natural curiosity, leading to her Danger-Prone Daphne moniker. There's a reason one of Daphne's original limited poses was her with her hand under her chin like the Thinker; she is a thinker and highly logical, making decisions based on evidence and rarely through initial emotional responses. This would make her a Ravenclaw Primary, the voice of reason and calm amongst the gang. I would say her current adopted reality system comes primarily from Fred (whether you ship Fraphne or not. Lol.) As he's the "leader" of Mystery Inc, she has taken on his love of fairness and justice, but with a healthy dash of friendly Claw skepticism.
Velma Dinkley: Gryffinclaw (Gryffindor Primary, Ravenclaw Secondary)
This one may cause some contention. Lol. No one would argue that Velma is a Ravenclaw Secondary. She's definitely a collector and user of tools, her primary tool being research and knowledge. She is a planner and always does her research before taking on a mystery and has saved the gang's skin more than once by coming prepared. So, as for the Gryffindor Primary, I used the same method I used to pick out Fred. Is Velma passionate or dispassionate? Well, compare her to Daphne, an actual Ravenclaw. Daphne is slow to blame or create an opinion, feeling she needs all the information first before she makes a judgement. Meanwhile, Velma is usually one of the first to begin naming names and claimjng she has the answer, whether or not she does. She is also far more active compared to Daphne, looking closer to Fred's level of passion to solve the mystery quickly rather than Daphne's desire to sit back and take her time. So, Gryffindor is the only one that felt right. She is out here to catch bad guys and kick ass, just like Fred, compared to Daphne who is here to observe and discover the truth.
Shaggy Rogers: Hufflerin (Hufflepuff Primary w/ Slytherin Primary Model, Slytherin Secondary)
Okay. Here we go. Believe it or not, Shaggy Rogers has the most complex housing out of all of Mystery Inc. I know, I didn't expect it either. First off, his Slytherin Secondary is fairly obvious. He is a shortcut finder, a skillful liar, and a lover of mischief. He's always looking for the next opportunity to get what he wants, and fares best against the villains when thinking on his feet and improvising. But, his primary was less obvious. I went into this assuming he would be a True Slytherin, with the gang and, primarily Scooby, as his chosen people, where he truly doesn't care about anyone else. But, as we've learned through extended characterization throughout the years, Shaggy grew up very lonely, without many friends, until he met Scooby. When Scooby entered his life, he wasn't lonely anymore, but meeting the gang was even better. Now, he had MORE friends! Meanwhile, in most media, Scooby is portrayed as taking longer to warm up to new people than Scooby. He doesn't particularly like sharing and doesn't seem to feel a need to make many friends. But, not Shaggy. Shaggy really does enjoy meeting new people and building a wider friend group. But, that alone does not a Hufflepuff Primary make. Some Slytherins enjoy larger groups of chosen people, some don't. Instead, I thought of the multiple circumstances where Shaggy has had to fight against his desire to help everyone and his need to keep Scooby happy. Scooby is certainly his favorite friend, and for Scooby's sake he lives in a Slytherin Model fairly often, acting as though Scooby is really all that matters to him. But, without fail, Shaggy ends up having to get on Scooby's level and explain that he has this need to help and not run away that he can't ignore. Shaggy's love for people and inner need to reach out and help speaks to the Hufflepuff Primary under the Slytherin Model he's created to make Scooby feel more secure.
Scooby-Doo: True Slytherin (Slytherin Primary, Slytherin Secondary)
Scooby's representing the green and silver from top to bottom! His Slytherin Secondary is equally as obvious as Shaggy's. They're both the kings of avoidance and dodging confrontation. Although he may be afraid, put him in a situation armed with nothing but his ability to improvise, and he'll come out on top. But, he is truly a Slytherin Primary, compared to Shaggy's model. Shaggy is truly the center of his world. The rest of the gang is certainly part of his inner circle, but the moon hangs on Shaggy for Scooby. If he's doing something, it's in some way for Shaggy or related to Shaggy. He goes back into the fray not out of an overarching desire to help people, like Shaggy, but because it's that person. He helps Shaggy because he's Shaggy. He helps Fred because he's Fred. And so on and so forth.
So, those are my thoughts! I'm not totally happy with my ability to explain my thought process, yet, but I wanted to get something out there with simple, recognizable characters. Let me know your thoughts!
