Part 2 of the chain with Pokémon starters!

There was so much angst potential in giving Wild a Pokémon from before the Calamity, I couldn’t help it! Imagine his Pokémon stuck in stasis for 100 years and, unlike Wild, retained all the memories of the past. The Pokémon was trained alongside the champion, going from a once perky Rowlett, to the stoic Decidueye.

I could imagine the Decidueye would have lost respect for what its trainer had become. They both trained together, lost their youth together, and died together. This bumbling half-naked fool couldn’t command it nothing.

Along their journey together I can imagine them slowly bonding over time. The champion helping his Pokémon live lighter, and Decidueye helping its trainer regain his skills (especially in marksmanship).

Not to mention the angst potential in Wild being reminded of his past self through Decidueye.
