It's so hard to write english on this platform every single fucking day, and when I finally feel proud enough of my english to write a story and actually ending up liking how its turning out I get no feedback and just feel like maybe I am the problem

Sonic: Battle of Metal and Blood (Part 2)

Synopsis: Teenager plays the game, something scary happens, they shrug it off despite being kinda scared and, as the stupid creepypasta protagonist they are, continue playing.

As I pressed start, the screen went completely black.

"Oh fuck" was my first thought. Did I break it somehow? I only clicked on the start button; it couldn't have crashed already. The console light was still on, so I waited a few seconds to see if the game would respond. Surely, the screen went white and showcased the old pixelated SEGA logo, completed with its 16-bit jingle. So it was official? Apparently it was! I got so excited; how come no one had found out about this yet? The internet had been around for years now, there had to be someone who already posted something about this. I made a mental memo to check reddit after some hours of gameplay.

I remembered Sonic CD opening with a cutscene, so I somewhat expected the same for this one, but my hopes died when it took me straight to the main menu. It was neat though; Amy was standing proudly next to Tails with her Piko-Piko hammer behind her back while Tails had his left hand in a thumbs up. The banner in front of them had the name of the game. I think the menu music was a brand new one but I can’t confirm. I found it weird how there was no sight of Sonic at first; his name was in the game so he had to be somewhere. I figured he would appear sooner or later so I clicked New Game.

It took a bit to load but surely enough, there was a game there. I was playing as Amy in some kind of jungle area since there were a few vines you could climb and swing around. Amy didn't have Sonic's speed so that's how she got around the map. I was having the time of my life. Not only had I found this really cool old game that apparently no one had known about, but it was actually functional and really fun to play! You could use Amy's hammer to smash enemies or even use it to catapult yourself to slightly higher up platforms.

After a while of typical 90s Sonic gameplay, I encountered what I presumed was the first boss fight. The jungle came to a clearing where in the middle of it stood Metal Sonic, stepping on some poor small animal he found. That was a bit brutal to see but I remembered seeing something similar in CD, but those were holograms. Was this one a hologram as well? The music changed and I knew we were in for a boss fight. I sent Amy flying at Metal with her Piko Piko hammer above her head to get extra momentum, but something happened as soon as the two sprites collided.

The screen went black again, excluding two big red eyes that stared at whoever was playing the game, that unfortunate one being me at the time. I was a bit thrown off as the lively soundtrack came to a halt and everything fell quiet. I ended up recognizing those red eyes as Metal's since they were frowning just like the ones on his sprite. It stayed like that for a while; for a moment I thought the game had frozen or something. Then, out of all things, a text box popped up.

"I want hands like yours"

What the hell. Does he speak now? I mean, I was surprised at the time. That was pretty cool. But what did he mean by "hands like yours"? The text kept going.

"I want eyes like yours"

"And legs"

"And a mouth"

The screen went black again. I felt… shocked at first. I didn't know if I was exactly scared though. I love horror games and have seen my fair share of fucked up shit, but that's what it was. Fucked up stuff from a horror game, not from some kid game from the 90s. As the TV displayed the SEGA logo again, I finally snapped out of it and realised the game had crashed. However, instead of leading me to the game, it lead me to the Gems Collection menu. This was starting to freak me out.

I took a moment and left it on the menu. I was halfway through my cup of coffee as I started to try and piece together what the fuck just happened. So, Amy was in a jungle for some reason, she came across Metal Sonic and he demanded something from her. Her legs, hands eyes and mouth. Was he asking her for help? Like "be my eyes and ears" or some shit. I highly doubted that was the case, but the other option seemed less likely. He could also be talking literally; that he wanted her… body parts or something. But that was stupid. This was SEGA. Horror games were a thing back then but not at this level.

As unsettling as it implied it could be, it didn't stop me from booting up the game again. I was determined to find out exactly what was going on, but in reality I was just hoping to be proven wrong about Amy. The SEGA logo was still there, but she wasn't. Now it was just Tails on the menu screen, centered first and still with his thumb up. I hesitated a lot before clicking on anything. I immediately remembered that Sonic.EXE shit that plagued the internet in the early 2010s. All the creepy stories I grew up hearing were now closer to reality than ever before. It's almost like I knew what I was about to get myself into.

But I pressed CONTINUE.
