Unless it’s maybe more pg like when he IS egg bound maybe when they are fertilized they stick it into still something living but like plants instead (cause meats seem like something too heavy for flying type bugs) so maybe if you know your lil screamer bug has been getting naughty and he seems pretty protective of a fruit in a tree/pot or a very plump potted plant like a succulent or cactus (for the extra protection to his babies)

That’s a good sign to not eat the fruit or touch the plant cause babies be in there.

i do like those options though!! i actually think that seekers protectiveness of their kids would probably depend on individual subspecies/type, do you might have some that are more protective over their offspring and others that just kinda. leave them to fend for themselves (smth smth. drawing parallels to cold construction/MTOs from IDW)
