i just am obsessed with how all the things katniss does that make her remarkable, that make people pay attention and get angry, are when she is radically, selflessly, kind. and she doesn’t even fully realise that what she does is so remarkable - of course you would take your younger sibling’s place if they were chosen to be killed. of course you would try to protect a younger child from violence, and grieve her and treat her body with dignity and love when she died. you should care about children and old ladies and mentally ill people. but everyone else watches and is amazed, because the world makes it so hard to be caring, to make the choice to be kind. because competition between individuals benefits the government, they have fostered and encouraged that selfish attitude - someone’s child is going to die, so better their child than yours. better it’s someone you don’t know that suffers, someone from another district. better your sister than you. and it takes someone rejecting that, showing that there can be trust and love and kindness, even in terrible situations, to start to unify people against the real enemy, rather than in competition with each other.

the THING IS. the thing is about how people misunderstand kirk. is that YES he’s constantly explaining love and attraction and humanity to beautiful women, and giving intense speeches about the beauty of the universe and the stars and YES it usually ends with swelling music and a slightly awkward kiss. and most imitations or parodies of kirk’s character present these speeches as a manipulative, insincere flirtation with no heart behind it. but the thing about jim kirk is that he never half asses anything. he puts his WHOLE ass and heart behind everything he says and does. he tells people in hopeless, cruel situations that the universe is wonderful and incredible, that there is love and beauty, that he comes from a world where people truly care for and help each other. and he’s not saying this just to get in bed with someone. he’s saying it because he wants to share his awe and joy, wants others to have the opportunity to experience love and wonder and exploration. he truly does believe in the power of love and collaboration! it’s not his fault that people fall in love with him constantly. he’s not doing it on purpose. he’s just very pretty and passionate

Still thinking about the conversation I had with my roommate’s bf like two weeks ago where he said he was scared of furries but also didn’t even know enough about furries to know they were called furries I had to figure out wtf he was talking about. The urge to become a full blown furry now. Despite having all the makings of a furry I for some reason have never ended up enthusiastically becoming one despite my best efforts. Well. With spite as my motivator here we are. Where are the furry artists, I’m commissioning both my tentative ideas for my fursonas. I’m inviting all my friends who are furries over and we’re gonna work on making fursuits. I will also make this a hostile living situation for you AND I will get the added bonus of doing fun furry stuff

Ramblings (and Dune spoilers I guess??) under the cut

The Waynes = The Atreides. Bruce is obviously gonna be the Duke, with Alfred as his Mentat. Talia is his wife and part of the Bene Gesserit, and together they have Damian, who is raised as heir. Dick, Jason and Tim are Bruce's adopted sons but as they're not related by blood, they are not considered heirs by the other houses (cus of the mating index and all that jazz). Jason=Duncan Idaho, Dick=Gurney Halleck and Tim=Hawat (he and Alfred share Hawats role in the story). (they fit these roles stupidly well if you think about it too hard).

The Waynes get sent to Arrakis Krypton to replace the Al Ghuls. Kryptonians take the place of Fremans, and Clark is Liet and imperial planetologist (therefore making Jon=Chani)

The same basic politics and plot beats happen, leaving Bruce, Clark and (temporarily) Jason dead, Dick on the run, separated from a pregnant Talia and Damian, who are also on the run, and Tim and Alfred being poisoned and used as Ra's mentat.

Also just to note in this au, Ra's actually does suspect that Talia is his daughter and that's why he's so interested in Damian, whilst Talia is fully aware of her lineage and tells Damian. Ra's sucks in this but he's at least not a pedo like the Baron is

The rest of Dune plays out as is, with Damian becoming the Muad'dib, Talia becoming the Sayyadina and giving birth to Athanasia, who looks just like a mini Bruce and has her freaky powers, and they eventually take down the Al Ghuls.

Ngl I would just leave it there instead of following the rest of the Dune books because 1. I can't think of who could suitably fit the Padishah Emperor and co. and 2. I just want them to be a happy family at the end and not having Damian become the messiah and start a holy war.

which is. kinda defeating the point of Dunes message. but at the same time this is a batman au and it doesn't have to be that deep because i said so :p

so i thought this was rlly silly and i was like, “dude. i HAVE to draw this” so i did, i drew the goyles to the best of my ability and it looked pretty cool. BUT THEN. I HAD TO COME UP W TTBRAINROT TERMS FOR THEM TO USE??? AND I DONT RLLY UNDERSTAND THOSE. SO I HAD A WHOLE BRAINSTORMING SESSION AND TOOK NOTES ON WHAT MEANS WHAT, SO THAT WHEN I PUT IN THE SILLY LITTLE DIALOGUE IT SEEMED NATURAL😭😭 i even tried asking my friends but theyre so fake/j bc they did NOT care😔

this is actually so embarrassing for me to admit 😭 so anyways i sat there writing a dialogue of like 4 words but i still couldnt come up with anythign that sounded natural, so i gave up and never posted the drawing☹️💔
