I think Teru has an autoimmune disease, (lupus or PFAPA). Because I said so

Ok I actually do have reasons. Lupus and PFAPA are both autoimmune diseases. Lupus causes flu-like symptoms like fevers, fatigue, and joint pains, (among other things obviously), and PFAPA causes fevers, a sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes, (also among other things). This is all stuff that Teru (probably) deals with during his fevers.

Do you know what makes autoimmune diseases flare up and get worse? Stress. Do you know what's really stressful, especially for Teru? Losing. Losing ANYTHING.

That boy probably hasn't been to a doctor in YEARS. He doesn't know what an autoimmune disease is, and he definitely wouldn't know if he had ome. Plus he's like 14 and he has psychic powers. For all he knows, psychosomatic fevers are EXACTLY what's going on, and in his mind it would make perfect sense that something that bizarre would happen to someone like him.
