Yes, I IG think? It’s strange, because in my mind adult Naruto is just so.. beautiful *-* and in some manga panels he for sure is. Yet, in the anime often he.. 

Well. It makes sense, because I really do believe that even in Boruto things are intentional. (Dunno about the kids, I’m not that interested now.) 

Anyway, I ruined my wrist so I’m a bit slow lately with drawing, but I’m actually trying to draw an adult Naruto and Sasuke side by side (maybe mid-battle?) and I’m really struggling to make Naruto look his age. Mostly because I insist to add the Hitai-ate (it makes no sense that he’s not wearing it, so much for importance) and it covers his receding hairline, if it’s there in the first place. Sometimes it feels like I’m hallucinating or his chakra is playing tricks with us and it’s a mirage- nevertheless, look:

Now I get why he’s not wearing it, because he looks a lot younger when you cover it. (If you ignore his dull, miserable face.) So I’m figuring out how I can design a semi-sage adult Naruto without him looking like his ‘blank-period’ self. 

And hey, I might be a noob, but the animators definitely know what they’re doing you know.. we may want to see him more lively, but he’s not. We would love to see him more determined and driven- ready to take on everything- but he’s not the same Naruto anymore. If you look at his expressions from Naruto (+Shippuden) and then from that terrible ‘the Last’ where they completely trapped him into this guilt trip one-way ticket to hell, to now in ‘Boruto’- they at least put a lot of thought into the way they ruined him. 

Whatever Kishimoto’s intention was (PETTINESS), it was done so deliberately. Naruto’s expressions generally became duller and duller (and no, don’t take 1 random screenshot to show how “happy” he is now 😂) Naruto NEVER looked like this, unless he had a reason to. And even if he felt things like ‘grief’ before, that was shown clearly.

This right here is just.. a man that gave up.  

The animators refuse to even draw 10% of his original expressiveness even if those are just tiny changes:

Hello!! Well this came to my mind and would be interesting to put into words.

Something that her fans were right is that she hadn't to accept Rock Lee's confession and love. For them a No was No, which is hilarious becase their princess didnt do this with sasuke lol but anyway. After Lee saves Sakura in Death Forest, she changes her attitude towards him and started to be nice , she even defends him when Naruto said something aboout bushy-eyebrows. Even more, i dont actually remember scenes where she is rude against him after that incident in the forest. She tried to encouraged him and most of the time she was "nice" with Lee. In the Hospital in part 1 she was going to visit Sasuke and she also thought of Lee, so she gifted him some flowers too.

-All of this I speak from the anime canon, manga i dont remember tbh. Also in movies I remember her being nice with Lee too- So, what's my point and question? Why is she so bitchy towards Naruto? While she is nice -or try to- with Lee (which he fucking deserves this treatment of course) , why she is still so ungraceful towards Naruto? Naruto saved her much more times than Lee, but still she can be nice with him. I get that when you are confident with someone, you tend to "insult" more lets say. But i get that feel when naruto is around of shikamaru or the other guys. We know how he and Sasuke treat each other ♥ But still, i dont get this with Sakura. Even more, did she ever defend Naruto? From other people I mean. If she could change her attitude for Lee, being almost a good friend.

There is this hard fact that every author with just half a braincell knows, that is, 'IF YOU WANT A CHARACTER TO BE LIKEABLE, MAKE IT BEHAVE NICER TOWARDS THE MAIN CHARACTER'.

To be honest, I started to like Sasuke because of that very fact 'He was extremely nice towards Naruto in his own way' and later I started to adore him because of his own backstory. But the first spark was because of Episode 3, Orphan insult scene.

It seems Kishi never had that intention to make Sakura be an honest friend with Naruto even in The Last movie. So, ummm.... Yup.

Like you said, Sakura changed her attitude towards Lee and she encouraged him when he was wounded after fighting Gaara. But anyways, she again went onto being a bitch in the Kage Summit Arc, by leaving Lee on the road without any care!!! So... That's what you can expect from her🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ But that's not the point of this post. Is it??

Point to be noted : Sasuke and Naruto insulting each other shows their comfort level with each other. Sakura harassing Naruto is not the same thing. Never.

I think she spoke for Naruto before Sasuke twice. One, In the forest of the Death. Two, Under the Bridge. But it doesn't matter.

She should've defended Naruto from Sasuke's attacks in Orochimaru hideout like Sai.

She should've worried about Naruto's wounds after Naruto came back like an Egyptian Mummy from fighting in VoTE in part 1. Instead she was worried about Sasuke alone.

She should've fought Sasori for Naruto's safety sake instead of getting information about Sasuke.

She should’ve stayed with Naruto when he went with Karui to deal with Sasuke’s Akatsuki activities. 

She should've stood up for Naruto in her final confession like 'Sasuke-kun, if you touch Naruto, I'll have to kill you eventhough I love you'... Yeah, she wouldn't stand a chance against Sasuke. But her character would've shined a lot.

So, Nope. She defending Naruto couple of times but letting him down countless other times doesn't matter.

WHY SAKURA TREATS NARUTO BADLY ?

After thinking about all the possibilities,

SOCIAL STATUS OF NARUTO

Sakura is the reflection of the Villagers' mindset. That is, The object of Hatred who should be treated like pest.

She definitely gave me that vibe in Episode 3. She literally treated him like a plague and I wanted to slap her so hard ever since. But even after the Pain Arc, I mean after Naruto became a Hero by making peace with Nagato, she still behaved like a Worst Bitch.

If she truly represents the social dynamics of the Villagers, she should have become a good friend like Shikamaru or Neji long back. But she didn’t.

So, we can safely eliminate this possibility.

SAKURA THINKS NARUTO IS 'THIRDWHEELING'

Well, This is from Chapter 3. So, I think whenever Sakura makes a move on Sasuke, Naruto accidentally comes in between her one-sided ‘duck dreams’ and spoil her party. It seems this has been going on for a long time. So, she just hates him for that. 

I found this ‘coming between’ thing twice in part 1. The first time was when Naruto stole the ‘First Kiss’ of Sasuke.

Second time was when Naruto was about to fight Gaara.

Here, Sakura was fretting over Sasuke’s cursed Seal and when Naruto asked her a question, she responded with a ‘Devil Face’. I mean is there any need to get angry at this time? There’s a monster standing before them and all she worries about is her poor ‘Sasuke-Kun’ and not even bothered about her surroundings, because Naruto will do the dirty job. All she can do is touch and worry about Sasuke. 

Well, In reality she is the one coming between them and she never realized that. What a self-absorbed Trash!!!

SAKURA IS JEALOUS

Naruto receives something from Sasuke that she never got from him, not until the very end and even today. That is, Attention. 

I noticed this in the Manga. Surprisingly, I guess none of the SNS bloggers brought this very cute panel up for discussion. It’s not in the Anime though!! 

This is from Chapter 3 page 6. (Geez!!!! Chapter 3 is a Gold Mine for SNS)

As you see Sakura was watching Sasuke up close like a Fruit Cake. It seems, Sasuke doesn’t give 2 fucks about her or anyone!!!

Now Let’s go back to Page 5 and see what happened earlier.

Naruto has been intensely throwing knives from his eyes. And you know what!!! Sasuke noticed it and asked him ‘What?’. To which Naruto asks, ‘What do you mean what?’. LOLLLLLL.

This is their First official conversation in the Manga.😍😍😍😍😍

Sakura looking at him with love doesn’t get any reaction and Naruto’s angry stare get his attention. Well, this is not an one time occurrence!!

In the Same chapter, it occurred again

This panel screams, ‘Why pay attention to Naruto, when he is not here?’. Kishi established this dynamics in freaking Chapter 3 and it never changed towards the end. LOLLL.

Even during Chakra Training, Sakura climbed the tree very easily in the hopes that Sasuke would appreciate her or notice her with admiration. But he was never bothered about her achievements even by a bit, but he paid attention to Naruto when he found out he was slowly catching up to him🤭🤭🤭.

I always find this scene very funny and cute because just like before, Naruto throws Daggers at him visually and Sasuke was like, ‘What did I do this time?’. 😍😍😍

And this is after getting the pass to participate in Chunin Exams

Well, I don’t have to add the scenes from Orochimaru Hideout, Bridge scene and War Arc, Do I?

And the best part is Sakura knew that Naruto gets his attention. So, her jealousy is probably the reason for her to treat him so badly. Just like how she treats Ino. Since Naruto plays dunce in front of her, she takes advantage of it and used him like a Tooth Brush.

This is also one of the reason for her to treat him badly.

Because Lee never came in between Sakura and Sasuke. It was Naruto, the whole time. And that's why she was like a bitch to Naruto.

Kishimoto in his own words,

I mean, Come On!!!, Sakura is nothing compared to Naruto's power level, strength or jutsu varieties to consider him as a rival in these departments. Still she is considering Naruto as her rival.

The only thing that connects them is their obsession towards Sasuke's Acknowledgement. And Kishi himself is hinting at a love triangle with Sasuke as the central figure.

Well, that makes more sense. 😂😂😂. Because I can think of no other reason for her to be a bitch towards Naruto.

More Naruto rants

So, I’ve (stupidly, just now) realized that the reason I’m so fixated on Zabuza’s arc is because I got to see it like three times on TV before my country had enough spanish dub chapters to get on with the rest of the plot. So I got atached, is the one that gets me more nostalgic, and it’s the one I remember best. I also got time to properly process it before the more cult-ish bullshit started. And I thought the rest of the series would go a bit like that arc with, you know, ninja mercenaries who work for money in a world that sees them as tools but where they have their own ambitions and reasons and goals of a more or less normal human scale. The part where Gato arrives and the antagonism between Zabuza and Kakashi instantly ends when money is no longer on the table shaped a lot of my expectations for the future of the series (that I couldn’t articulate back when I was twelve, so I’m doing it now).

For starters, Gato is a fucking civilian. A rich fuck who does business and buys killers-for-hire. That’s how the system suposedly works. Where do the civilians go after the chunin exams? Where do the jobs go? Where does the money come from without them? I expected to see Naruto, with his newly decided path, clash with the system he lives in. I expected his elders (with the exception of Iruka and Kakashi) to try and coax him into the “right” path. Something along the lines of “I understand your feelings but that’s what must be done to keep the village running”. And Naruto finding ways to circunvent his orders, to find the loopholes that let him get away with it. Even if it’s just “I got the important thing done, what do you care if I didn’t kill those people?“. I didnt want to see him spare a genocidal megalomaniac but a fellow ninja who’s doing his own side of the job. Wouldn’t “If you kill my friends I’ll kill you, but if you’re done trying not only will I leave you go but I’ll defend you against my partners” be a lot more interesting and give nice posibilities for the future? Would the spared person take advantage of his kindness and fuck him over? Would they apreciate the gesture and start thinking that things can change? Would they “pay it forward” and spare someone that didn’t necesarily need to be killed? And if they did fuck him over despite his kindness, how would naruto justify his actions to his superiors? Would he be conflicted about his choices or would he be steadfast in his beliefs regardless of other people’s actions?

But with the way canon progresses after that first set up Naruto is not changing the system, he’s getting privileges. He can do what he wants because people in power like him. Veteran shinobi would have reason to hate him (”this upstart rookie gets to decide to go chasing an enemy of the state to save him while I have to bust my ass in bloody trenches to make ends meet?”)

I know the talk-no-jutsu is a joke but it’s somewhat accurate. He’s all talk. He never risked getting consecuences for his chosen path, mostly because Kishimoto made a good job making us forget we were watching mercenaries. If the world building wasn’t all kinds of wonky then at some point Naruto’s choices would’ve put him at odds with the people in power, and I don’t just mean the obviously corrupt ones. But Naruto wormed his way into their hearts for some reason and because of that they made exceptions for him, but no one is shown making significant changes to the context they live in. And about that context: they start by saying “shinobi are tools“, and sure, that’s true. But in the first arc they are tools for the people in power, who are not the five kages. The people in power are the people with money and the people who rule the countries. The Kages are just the top brass of the military, who get paid by the people in power. But later, shinobi start being tools for other shinobi with more grandiose ideas and the civilians pretty much disapear unless it’s to fill the background in cities. Their power structures lose all significance and relevance.

And because Naruto is never faced with the posibility of actual, structural, systemic concecuences to his own person then his choices lose a lot of weight. He spares the genocidal megalomaniac, the dude resurrects everyone and then dies. Everything works in the end. And no one gets on Naruto’s case about how you can’t expect all your enemies to die for you. In a military world that doesn’t make much sense, no matter how well everything worked out. The situation would be a lot more interesting if Nagato hadn’t died, and instead left to keep taking care of his war-ravaged homeland. If the super strong enemy we didn’t even defeated walks away, can we really trust he won’t have another change of heart? He seems plenty fickle, after all (he resurrected on a whim all the people he sprent the last couple hours killing. That sounds fucked up). And Naruto would have to defend him, because no way in hell will I believe that everyone in konoha would decide to let a threat of that level be. Not with the word of a sixteen year old pseudo-rebel as the only guarantee.

I wanted to see Naruto garnering support from his peers. Some would be easier than others. Hinata was on his corner from the get go. With the right conversation he’d get Neji too. Rock Lee is a ball of sunshine who’s been belittled more or less constantly, he’d be all up for it too. Sakura comes from a civilian background (if I’m not mistaken) so she is somewhat shocked at the way the world works. She didn’t get it drilled into her the same way others did. It wouldn’t be easy for her, and with some help and prompting she’d be okay with changing it.

And Sasuke. You wouldn’t even need to change his storyline too much, just get rid of the part where Kaguya had a hand in the destiny of the world, in planting misleading information. Get rid of the suposed reincarnation cycle that takes away the importance of personal choices. Basically, get rid of all the alien subplot. You’re still left with a boy who’s been wronged in all posible ways by his countrymen and government. You don’t need Kaguya’s bullshit scheme to make the shit in Konoha look horrible. They do that on their own.

You’d get Naruto finding out about Danzo (who’s covered in stolen eyes from fellow villagers, WTF) and Root, about the Uchiha masacre. He’d get angry on Sasuke’s behalf, and Sai’s, and Zabuza’s even (killing your friends as a test? Naruto knows that doesn’t lead anywhere good). And wheter Sasuke had left the village or not they would be both in the same side for this. If Naruto had been convincing people of the inherent corruption of the system then that would become an all out rebellion and upheaval of the government (instead of the assassination of one dubious character).

That would tie in with the renegade thing (are they “missing-nin” in english?). How many of them are labelled criminals for doing terrible things and how many are because of disagreements with their governments? How many are turned into scape-goats and then exiled? How many people who do terrible things keep living as respected members of their communities just because their interests align with the interests of those in power?

......and I’ve run out of steam but, long story short, I’ve always felt cheated at the what if’s

kishimoto did make itachi morally grey but he barely puts any emphasis on it which leads the audience to believe it didn't happen.

like yeah, yeah we know he says "i don't regret what i did and hes "itachi of the leaf" but theres a lot of other shit too.

edo itachi says that sasukes anger is justified and that sasuke couldve easily made a better choice then he did. you also see that itachi was suicidal over hurting sasuke. he straight up admits that he wanted to be killed by an uchiha for what he did. you wouldnt want to be punished for something you thought was irrefutably right, right?

where this leaves us is with a big contradiction. Itachi is telling us he supports the village and he didnt regret his choice. BUT HE ALSO TELLS US THAT THE VILLAGE IS EVIL, HE HATES HIMSELF FOR WHAT HE DID, AND HE SHOULDVE LET SASUKE MAKE THE BETTER CHOICE SO WHATS THE TRUTH KISHI

okay from the get go these 2 had a rivalry going on since they were kids every since the Incident™ happened with sasuke he was distant and didnt show an interest in anyone (and it was so sad considering he was like 6 or something) and he had to mature up and naruto was like ‘damn…….. this bastard thinks hes cooler than me’ and naruto already had the short end of the stick with his parents dying the day he was born and was left to fend for himself; the kids treated him like shit because the villagers did too 

sasuke was the only one to really care or notice him when they were kids whether it was for rivalry or not like sasuke was the only one to notice him!! (besides hinata ig) and that meant a lot to naruto even if he did claim to hate him we all knew naruto fucked around just for the village to pay attention to him no matter what he did (even going to extremes as disheveling the hokage monuments) and to sasuke? he thought he was a total idiot but

tbh sasuke had always cared about naruto and envied his bonds that he created with ppl and saw it as a weakness

in his eyes he couldnt and shouldnt create any bonds because what was the point? he had to go and get revenge on his brother he couldnt dwell in silly things as bonds and family not when itachi had destroyed that very thing that he yearned

it was also said that sasuke thought of team 7 as his family and to deter his want for revenge on his brother 

he didnt really understand it when they were kids but when they were finally on the same team he was envious of narutos skills 

and he even said that once he understood his loneliness and his pain; when he felt that pain of seeing all the stuff naruto goes through to protect his team, his village, his friends he too felt the same way suffering

sasuke was even relieved that finally someone was the same as him!

naruto too in return has said on multiple occasions that “it pains me seeing sasuke suffer” 

naruto has fought tooth and nail to keep his bond with sasuke because only he could relate to him in no other ways anyone could; he was his first bond, both of them thought the same thing! naruto thought sasuke as stronger than him always one step ahead when sasuke always thought naruto was like his brother; walking ahead of him 

and not only are the actual definitions of hot and cold, fire and ice, orange and blue, sun and moon; destined to accent each other from birth (kushina and makoto were actually good friends before narutos birth)

they are also actually reincarnations of two brothers similar: indra and ashura (before sasuke and narutos birth the transmigrators of the previous generation were madara and hashirama, the founders of the hidden leaf village)

naruto is ashuras reincarnate (the less gifted one, harder to gain achievements) 

and sasuke was indras (the gifted one, the genius)

ashura wanted to see the world by love and cooperation and asked indra to help him achieve a new dream thus he was named as his fathers sucessor but naturally, like sasuke, he has to be complicated and go against those wishes thus starting a constant ninja war even after their bodies had ceased their chakras was transferred to another vessel (hashirama and madara) then to sasuke and naruto 

even before birth their destinies would intertwine and naruto would have to be the one to stop sasuke to put a stop to the imbalance of the world and cease the ninja war

even after all this, since their childhood then seeing them on the same team fast forward to sasuke leaving to accept orochimarus deal which led to a chase and the Final Battle before sasuke had won and left naruto alive (sasuke has even said he doesnt know why he left him alive; even admitting that because he was his only bond and he didnt want to die, not yet anyways)

naruto was obsessed with bringing back sasuke becoming more and more powerful because he didnt want to lose again, he had to bring sasuke back and damnit he was going to which led to the Final Final Battle; and even after losing both of their arms sasuke had admitted that he lost and accepted defeat 

which put an ease to their relationship and u cant ignore this which still breaks my heart to this day 

in the end naruto had brought back sasuke as he had kept saying for those three years sine sasuke left 

after all this u cant tell me their relationship is literal from rivals to friends (and potentially lovers but kishimoto queer baited us and i cant forgive him for that; im not going to get started on the horrible ending kishimoto gave up (((:)

this is why i love sasuke and narutos relationship; destined to be with each other even before birth and how much the other has influenced each others life and their morals on life i love these two so much and i can never thank them enough for influencing my life they had did
