Sorry if this question is a tad bit too real and hefty for you, but,
What is your advice on growth?
Loosely to somewhat grow a fandom??? If that's the right term
Making your art seen by people, to make people interested in original works and content, to somewhat truly engage and immerse people within your visuals/world?
Rather than relying on things such as fanart to gather a crowd
(unless, of course, fanart is part of the process of building and such)
I myself am a nooby when it comes to art and character building, just kind of a seed in the soil atm.
Thought I'd ask since me and many other people enjoy your content to bits ❤️
I'd like to hopefully someday do the same deed and spread that same feeling of joy and excitement within such artworks
for me, i would say that growth is dependent, to some extent, on what people already know and recognise - of course, this doesn't mean that you have to draw fanart! lots of artists gain popularity from stuff like animals, food, etc... things that people already know and enjoy. i, personally, have to thank fanart for my own growth, but you should never feel obligated to draw to fit an algorithm/draw 'what's popular' unless you really want to. and when it comes to making others interested in your own work and projects, there are a lot of different factors. i'll put what personally helped me under the cut, but know that i'm just one person! i'd encourage asking around about this topic ^_^
for me, the best way to get people interested in my personal works is through drawing them. this can be simple technical turnarounds, references, or fully rendered illustrations - simply presenting a character (especially one with an interesting or unique design) can help to get people wondering what their deal is! i'd also recommend adding a bit of info about that character and their backstory to anything you post about them, as a way to 'sow the seeds' of interest of their world into people i guess.
i'm not really the best at 'promoting' (for lack of a better word) my OCs, but i have seen a lot of people, some who haven't even started their personal projects, gain a lot of eyes on their stuff just though posting about the characters and their lives. writing, mini-comics or 4komas, interaction art - stuff that brings depth to characters and shows their personalities. and when it comes to tumblr don't be shy to go into detail if anybody sends you an ask about them!!! of course you don't need to post spoilers about your project, but even hints can draw people in.
other than that, i'd say try to be confident in your work - by that i mean act like it's already super popular lol. basically fake it till you make it! do oc ask takeovers, requests, infodump about them, whatever! it's a really fun way to get people into your characters.
of course i am just one guy and i myself feel like i need to follow these rules myself more, but i hope this helped regardless ฅ^•ω•^ฅ

I know I’ve been a bit off lately and out in the weeds art wise, so have some talk. I try to keep my life off this account for the most part, but well...
One of the reasons is the same thing we’re all going through- the pandemic. As someone immunocompromised, with immunocompromised parents, and a small niece, there were a lot of immediate people to worry about, not to mention everyone in general. But really that just exasperated a bigger issue.
My work has slowly been destroying me for years. I’ve been an instructor at a community college for the past 8 years- a community college that has been continually proving how very little they care about the staff or even the students at an admin level. A community college who bought our President a cadilac ($50-80K) the same month they denied us longevity raises. Who let every opportunity for growth slip through their fingers and gave away our territories. It felt more and more like by teaching there and telling my students- many who are low income- this is a good degree when I know parts of their education are lacking by poor admin and poor instructors, I was deceiving them.
My program is also the only thing still connecting us to our Sister University- who is trying desperately to get rid of us so that they are freed up from obligations with the city and can take back the building we rent. That uni is also pivoting to focus their degree around highly predatory database mining and advertising- a topic that I am in no way comfortable teaching, ethically.
And this made me work harder and harder to do my damnest. Knowledge wise, I’m teaching the work load of three people. And then everything moved on line... And I burnt out. With the semester approaching I’ve been having panic attacks and night terrors and too much anxiety.
So I’ve been pushing myself and burning out and I’ve... retreated. I haven’t consumed any new media in months. My brain just can’t handle it. Watching old favs or non plot things like lets plays is all I’ve managed. And sinking into fandom, specifically FFXV. Which has been a blessing to have. And I’ve really struggled producing anything original with in all of that because it was trying to draw from a well spring that was empty. But at the same time, the work I have been doing has really let me grow. I’m so much better at anatomy than I was at the start of the year. My lighting work is better. I’m remembering how much I love rendering. Even if what I’m doing is sanity saving fan art, and I know that’s not what most of you are here for, I’ve really see a lot of growth that I AM proud of just pure skill wise.
The result of all of this, is that Saturday I decided to quit my job and today I sent my notice. It’s a risk, even though I have savings. I don’t have another one lined up. I have applications to two places I put in Thursday, but who knows what will happen. And... I don’t know what all I’m going to do. Which is terrifying. But I couldn’t go back- I’m at risk of tipping over that line health and mental wise that I might not be able to recover from. I worry I am already a little over it.
What it does mean as far as all you darlings are concerned is that in the next few weeks, art is going to become my full focus. I need to sit down and plan, but I’m hoping without the stress of going back there, I can take a deep breath and move forward in a way I hadn’t been able to. I want to start making original work again. I want to cast again (though this has also been off the tables due to weather basically this whole year). I want to make new product like the appigle candy charms! I want to get a printer so that any piece anyone would like, I can do a fine art quality print and send it out.
I’m not saying this as any expectation for anyone to buy things! I’m okay at the moment, money wise, this is not a desperate call. But if there are things you’d like to see me create, commission types you want, or things you would like to see in my shop, feel free to let me know as I put together plans and ideas here over the next few weeks.
I don’t know what’s to come, but no matter what, I know it involves creating, because I can never not. And I want to be able to get back to that fully. I need to be able to get back to it. Thank you everyone who has stuck with me- it really does mean the world- and I hope to make things that will make you smile again soon. ❤

New Written Review from Mike Crowley on You’ll Probably Agree: 10 Reasons Why ‘Blade Runner 2049’ is better than ‘Blade Runner’
If you haven’t’ seen the movie, see it then read this. No intro, let’s jump right in.
Tumblr media
1. K is a replicant
The reveal of K’s genetic code, or lack thereof, flips everything we assume the movie will be on its head. We are learning along with K what it means to exist. Do we as humans, live like replicants? Do we obey a society that treats us like trash but breath anyways out of the fear of death? Where we viewed “Blade Runner” mostly through Deckard’s eyes who didn’t have much of a personality, K’s lack of a character is his entire purpose for existing. For K to emote is to face death.
Where Harrison Ford’s Deckard entire arc was us questioning if he’s human or not (despite what Ridley Scott unequivocally says), there’s nothing much of substance to Officer Deckard. He gets drunk, retires replicants, that’s it. Name one thing that makes Deckard standout? I’ll wait. Ryan Gosling’s Officer K goes from a machine that is dying spiritually on the inside to someone wanting to have a purpose in life. All while maintaining his composure, if perhaps too much poise for the film. Anything with a conscious can feel. Whether or not how it was made is as relevant as where you were born or what skin color you are. The importance is that you’re here.
K doesn’t seek gratitude nor affirmation. He doesn’t suffer from a narcissistic personality. All he wants is not just to be another useless piece of metal.
Tumblr media
2. Deckard has depth this time
Being a daddy changes you a lot. Rick isn’t just a slouchy drunk who likes to shoot robots out of legal obligation. He’s a man who’s principles and love for forbidden things cost him his life. What kind of soul did Deckard have in the first film? Who did he care for? Please don’t say, Rachel, we all know why he was attracted to Rachel. Like Winston in 1984, Deckard rejects Big Brother for a life of pain to gain a glimmer of happiness.
Tumblr media
3. It’s horrifyingly relevant
Denis Villeneuve based the imagery in 2049 on a planet that has become degraded with pollution. The buildings are extrapolating enormous amounts of water into the atmosphere, the sea wall at the end of the picture will be our new Mount Rushmore, the orange Vegas is happening now. Denis Villeneuve didn’t predict the earth looking like this, but his production team was still spot on. A picture that transcends its very style, developing a look that will be discussed on its merits separate from the ubiquitous original, is a stunning achievement.
Everything isn’t dystopian because that’s the way it was in the book. It’s what will happen to us in real life, why we’d look for colonies to live on if we had the technology or funding towards NASA to do so. God help us all.
Tumblr media
4. The love story questions the essence of relationships
The story between K and Joi further examines the meaning of love, sex, and mortality, with the two being different versions of artificiality. When the default sexed-up version of a naked Joy pops up on the screen, we are emotionally mortified. Some of us may be repulsed to observe a character we care for utilized like a thirsty Godzilla.
The towering ad tries to seduce K tempting him to buy it, rendering everything Joi said to K throughout the picture questionable. Its manipulation solidifies his final decision in life to help another man. We’re not sure if she loved him or said what it thought it wanted him to hear throughout the narrative. Possibly Joi herself didn’t know her intentions. An unusual amount of nuance and uncertainty rests in the love story. Who do we love? Why do we love? Do we love by the heart or the heart of our designers whom we don’t know?
Meanwhile, Deckard was just drunk and horny when he bashed Rachel up against the wall. Sorry, that really was all there was to their passion despite what Wallace says.
Tumblr media
5. The movie was an honest commentary about how the world views woman
Here’s a controversial one. A lot of women were disgusted by the way they were depicted in the film. Outwardly watching the movie, I can’t blame them. I’ll let Mr. Villeneuve speak for himself. “I am very sensitive to how I portray women in movies. This is my ninth feature film and six of them have women in the lead role. The first Blade Runner was quite rough on the women, something about the film noir aesthetic. But I tried to bring depth to all the characters. For Joi, the holographic character, you see how she evolves. It’s interesting, I think. What is cinema? Cinema is a mirror on society. Blade Runner is not about tomorrow; it’s about today. And I’m sorry, but the world is not kind on women.”
Villeneuve is right. Women today are still sexualized. Even with the Me Too movement, women are continually seen as sex objects or subservient slaves in a male-dominated society. Villeneuve isn’t interested in painting a rosy picture that Hollywood does for female roles to make the audiences feel comfortable. It’s an honest reflection on who we are. What we see is what we don’t want to see, but that’s part of the honesty of cinema.
Tumblr media
6. The score is mesmerizing
Another point in which I may face some contention. Yes, Vangelis’ score is iconic, but it only works for the era it was composed in. Much of its mixture of bleeps, blops, and wind chimes are a product of its time. A lot of emotion is missing from the score other than the opening theme and “Tears In Rain.” Hearing much of the soundtrack while on the road, I sometimes thought I was listening to something from a porno. Take a listen to “Wait For Me” in the soundtrack and tell me otherwise. Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Walfisch’s score is timeless while also paying respect to Vangelis’ synthetic use in the original. It dives into the character’s mind providing a replication of something more human than what Vangelis composed.
Tumblr media
7. It thematically ties more directly to “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep” than “Blade Runner” does.
“Blade Runner” got the overall gist of Phillip K Dick’s novel. Replicants are scared, trying to find a way to survive as Deckard hunts them down. However, the Andies in the movie almost deserve to die. In their quest for more life, they torture and kill multiple civilians. What did the guy making the eyes do to deserve being frozen to death? What about J.R. Sebastian? He was nothing but pleasant to Roy and Pris. Did Roy eye gauge him when he was done with Tyrell?
Aside from Luv (Sylvia Hoeks), our replicants are fully rounded people. Sapper Morton is a watchful protector who was meant to be a NEXUS 8 combat medic; Joi’s true intentions come into question for herself and us. K’s inner conflict is the central core of the story. All of this revolves around the meaning of existence within a world that has forgotten about you. The introduction of Robo procreation is an evolution of Dick’s ideas, widening his notion of why life exists in the first place.
Tumblr media
8. It doesn’t get lost in the scale
Many sequels love scope over characters. Remember “The Matrix”? Remember how they talked about Zion and all these other things we didn’t see? When the sequels brought in Zion, the focus got lost in the spectacle. “The Matrix Reloaded” was a bumbling CGI mess of Agent Smith Clones and cave orgies. “The Matrix Revolutions” was a glorified “Space Invaders” game. Shoot as many sentinels as you can before becoming overwhelmed. Amidst the sequels bumbling chaos, I missed the smaller scale of the Nebuchadnezzar crew.
The story of “2049” could have focused on the replicant uprising with thousands of robots slamming into humans. We could have gone off-world to finally see what all these other colonies we’ve heard about are like. Some have argued that the movie could have borrowed some of its source material from the later novels about replicants creating humans, so on and so forth. All of that sounds incredible in theory. In execution, you would likely get “The Matrix” sequels.
A movie that overreaches in scope, attempting to please fans by showing everything. What we got was an incredibly meaningful story that further explores the themes of the original while building upon its world without going too far. We see what’s beyond L.A. on the dilapidated west coast. The answer is not much. The film aims at minimalism over extravaganza.
Tumblr media
9. We’re still talking about it
After being MIA for decades, “Blade Runner 2049” isn’t forgotten. I can’t say the same for “Superman Returns,” “Monsters University,” “The Incredibles 2,” “Live Free or Die Hard,” and “Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull.” In fairness, people do talk about Indy 4, but not in a positive fashion. “Blade Runner 2049” returned to the limelight with disastrous box office results yet high accolades, even gaining the Academy’s attention. Ironically it seemed destined to live the life of its predecessor.
“2049” may have tanked because it was a multimillion-dollar art film that respected its audience’s intelligence. Maybe “Blade Runner” was too far gone amongst the public to gain an interest geared almost entirely towards comic books and Disney. I think the trailers after the reveal teaser looked too generic for my own two cents, turning me off from the film for a short while.
Here we are with Honest Trailers in 2020, making a video about a film that came out in 2017. Bloodsoaked orange skies from the headlines mention the atmosphere of this film. Somewhere, about 100 other people are writing their analysis of “Blade Runner 2049” as I type right now. Seven years from now, we’ll be talking about why the world is still like “Blade Runner 2049.” Villeneuve made a timeless sequel to be remembered.
Tumblr media
10. It’s better than the first film and one of the best films in the last ten years
Here’s why you’ll probably agree with this one when you put your pitchfork down. Remove your nostalgia goggles. I know it’s hard to do, please, trust me. Look at the points I made above. Think about how ironic the love story is to our lives. The layers of meaning behind K’s existence is lightyears beyond the featureless Rick Deckard. The picture isn’t flawless. Niander Wallace is spectacularly corny in his scenery-chewing grim monologues. Dr. Eldon Tyrell had some ambiguity regarding the morale of his intentions. For that, I’ll give the original the benefit of my doubt. I understand Ryan Gosling was cast to be intentionally deadpan, but it’s okay to emote once. His distant stare in all of his other performances made it difficult for me to discern myself from the actor’s rather dull persona.
With this said, “Blade Runner 2049” understands cinema. Its atmosphere is why we venture into a dark room that takes us to a different place. Denis Villeneuve’s masterful follow up is one of the most orgasmic cinematic experiences I have witnessed in the last ten years that demands a re-screening in 2022 when theatres reopen at an entirely safe capacity. The style doesn’t overshadow its substance, which is far richer in detail than the original without grasping at blatant metaphors. “Blade Runner 2049” is slow cinema at its finest, letting us into the character’s heads, knowing when to be quiet and when to be loud.
Like “The Empire Strikes Back,” not everyone appreciated the movie at first. Time has been incredibly kind to it, though. I wish the Academy recognized “Blade Runner 2049” beyond its technical marvels in 2018. I suppose it wasn’t the type of picture that catches Oscar voter’s eyes. But it has acquired the audience’s to this day. Now, if you could just look up and to the left for me?

This Is the Coda That Never Ends... Part 12
(Read on AO3) (Read from the start)
Lorenzo watches as Andrew disappears through the portal back to the Institute, which will deposit him right outside the front doors where they left a short while back. The moment his boyfriend is out of site he feels a small bit of relief - he’s a different person around Andrew. Softer. Kinder. Maybe a different person isn’t the correct way to look at it - he’s more himself around Andrew. It isn’t often he feels as if he has something to prove around him, or a reputation already formed to uphold. It’s refreshing… except for the moments it isn’t.
Those moments are when Lorenzo interacts with Andrew around the other Shadowhunters at the Institute, where both of their easy smiles and casual first name addressing seems to be something of an oddity… and then the moments like this, where Andrew’s duty as a Shadowhunter, or Lorenzo’s obligations as a Warlock, come before their desire to be open and honest with one another.
Of course Lorenzo understands why Andrew didn’t tell him last night. It isn’t the first time either of them has kept something from the other, and it won’t be the last, but that doesn’t make it hurt any less when it happens.
Magnus fills him in with a quick summary of the events since Clary saw Jace at the art show, and Lorenzo listens in silence, taking in every detail with a careful ear. He’s finishing the story as they walk back out with drinks in hand - Magnus with two, one for himself and one he hands over to his husband who is looking down at Clary on the sofa while he waits for them.
“So it’s more than just flashes of memory if she’s showing up outside the Institute. Her knowledge of the Shadow World is returning much faster than you anticipated.”
“Or maybe not. Who knows how long this has been going on before now… perhaps her memories started to return the day after the wedding, and she simply ignored them until now.” Magnus points out.
Lorenzo hums in consideration. “True.” They all look down at Clary on the sofa. “So we don’t focus on the past, and turn our attention fully to the present. The fact of the matter is that she’s remembering, and she’s remembering everything. Why is this such a terrible thing, again?” Lorenzo asks, still unsure why they aren’t celebrating the fact that their friend is returning to them, or furthermore helping her remember faster to get her back properly? It’s certainly what he would do in their position.
“Because,” Alec starts to explain. “The angels took her memories and her abilities as a punishment - that’s the sort of power they have. If it looks like we’re intentionally trying to work around their decision there’s no telling what the ramifications of that might be.”
Lorenzo shakes his head. “You and your Angels,” he mutters. “The whole thing is ridiculous. If they aren’t powerful enough to keep a teenager from fighting through a mental block then perhaps they should rethink their hierarchy.”
Magnus snorts. “That’s the same mindset I took. If they’re that powerful, then it should’ve been permanent. Clearly it was meant to be undone eventually.”
Alec just shakes his head. “No. You don’t just temporarily take away someone’s runes.” There’s a pain
“So what do you propose we do with her?” Lorenzo asks, eyebrow raised.
Alec gives a little start at that. “We?” he asks, surprised.
“Yes, Lightwood-”
“-Lightwood-Bane,” Magnus corrects again, but Lorenzo simply rolls his eyes and continues. How they expected to know which of them he’s addressing while they’re together if they went by the same name is ridiculous, and he’s positive Magnus only makes a big deal out of it to annoy him and not because he truly cares what Lorenzo refers to him as.
“-we. Because the last time I checked, your Head of Security called me in to knock out a former Shadowhunter on Institute grounds, and now that I’m all up to speed on what’s happening within my jurisdiction as High Warlock of Brooklyn, this is - unfortunately - very much my problem now, too.”
Magnus sighs, clearly not thrilled with this development, but Alec nods.
“You’re right. I just didn’t expect you to be so eager to help.” There’s a silence after that, one that none of them fill with an explanation. Lorenzo has been much better lately about not only serving the Warlocks under him, but also the Shadow World at large. Of course, being in Alicante now, Alec and Magnus aren’t around to witness most of it.
“Well, I am. So don’t make me regret it.” Lorenzo huffs, almost immediately regretting it when Alec and Magnus both exchange a smirk.
“How long until she wakes up?” Alec asks, walking over to where Clary rests on the sofa, stopping to brush a small strand of hair out of her face.
“Not very long. I used a very light magic to render her unconscious. Simply enough to apply again if the effects need to be lengthened, significantly harder to break through in the event you want them shortened. There wasn’t much time for details over the phone when Andrew called so I erred on the safe side.”
Alec nods, pacing back over towards the balcony doors before turning back.
“Thank you,” Alec says to him suddenly, continuing when Lorenzo doesn’t reply. “I just realized I hadn’t said that yet. You didn’t have to come, and I know the position it potentially put you in, so I want you to know I appreciate it. We all do,” Alec adds, and he doesn’t have to say he’s talking mostly about Andrew.
“Good thing I did, otherwise I may never have known about what’s going on. What if she’d shown up the Dumort? Or tried to enter the Seelie Realm?” He demands. There’s a barely concealed edge of anger under his words. If it were much longer than a day or two he’d likely be furious, but he has to give them the benefit of the doubt that they would’ve done the right thing had he not been called in to help first. Still. “I know the potential threat to the Warlocks specifically has the least possibility, but-”
“You’re right,” Alec cuts him off. “I should’ve told you right away. All of you. I’ll have Isabelle call up Maia and Lily and fill them in, too. I don’t want a repeat of the Soul Sword.” Alec’s gaze drops with the statement, and Magnus reaches over to place a hand comfortingly in the crook of Alec’s arm. Even Lorenzo feels a bit guilty for bringing that up earlier as well: the loss to the Downworld was great that day, and it’s a guilt Lorenzo knows Alec carries with him still, and likely always would.
“Good,” is the only reply Lorenzo offers.
Just then a small, muffled groan sounds from the sofa, and the redhead begins to shift on her side, bringing a hand up to her face as she blinks her eyes open.
“Ugh, what happened--” she starts, groggy words cut abruptly short at the sight of the three men in front of her and the dawning realization that she doesn’t know where she is.
Lorenzo watches her sit upright, pressing herself as far back against the sofa as she can, scrambling to put as much distance between them and her as possible. When they make no move to stop her she bolts for the door, but Magnus prevents it from opening with a quick wave of his hand.
Somehow none of them, in their desire to help Clary and ensure that she’s safe and taken care of, stopped to consider the fact that she wouldn’t know that.
“It’s alright, we aren’t going to hurt you,” Magnus speaks first.
“Oh, that’s reassuring. You just kidnapped me and…” her words drop off at the sight of her artwork spread out around the apartment. “Are you stalking me?”
“I can assure you that I’m not stalking you, but as for these two…” Lorenzo starts, stopping only when Magnus hits him on the arm. He gives a slight laugh, because technically speaking they were watching her on the cameras, and Jace had been watching her at the art show, and really the Shadowhunters involved were doing everything just shy of proper stalking.
“Don’t listen to him, Clary” Magnus tells her. “We aren’t stalking you.”
“Just the kidnapping, then?” She snaps, a bit of fire behind her eyes.
“That isn’t what this is-” Magnus continues, but Clary isn’t hearing it.
“So I’m free to go?” Clary counters, and Lorenzo can’t help another small huff of a laugh. He likes this girl, it’s a pity he didn’t get to know her very well before, well, everything.
“Not yet,” Magnus says carefully. “But you will be, I promise.”
Lorenzo raises an eyebrow at that. Does Magnus mean that, or is he just saying it so she calms down.
“What’s the last thing you remember?” Magnus continues, distracting Lorenzo from his thoughts.
“The last thing I remember was being outside an abandoned building… except it wasn’t abandoned. I saw people go inside, then my headache came back, and I… I think I passed out. How did I get here?” She’s still pressed against the far wall of the Loft, by the door she couldn’t get to open. They can see her eyes dart towards the balcony and the rooms towards the back, but so far she doesn’t make a move toward them.
“Yes, when I found you it looked as if you were in a great deal of pain. How are you feeling now?” Lorenzo asks her, fighting the urge to move towards her and run a bit of magical diagnostics, as it were. She can’t get out but that doesn’t mean he has to abuse her captivity.
“Fine.” Her response is short, expression guarded as she eyes Lorenzo with an added layer of wariness at the knowledge that he’s the one who found her. She tries the door handle again, sighs, and makes her way slowly back towards the sofa. Alec, Magnus, and himself remain where they are - she seems to relax when they show their willingness to keep their distance.
“You aren’t going to try and run again?” Lorenzo asks. When Clary looks like she might argue he shakes his head. “Don’t think I didn’t see you sizing up the potential exits.”
“No,” she says slowly. “Just tell me what you want from me.”
Lorenzo looks to Magnus, who looks to Alec. “We didn’t think this far ahead, did we?” Magnus mutters.
Clary’s eyes follow Magnus’ and land on Alec.
“You’re awfully quiet,” she points out, looking at him a moment or two longer before giving a quiet gasp. “Your neck,” she says, tilting her head slightly to get a better look at the rune there. “It’s just like Jace’s, and the two people who went into that building.”
Lorenzo watches Alec’s face remain impressively impassive.
“Yes,” Alec says finally, surprising Lorenzo. He knows the whole point of this is to keep Clary away from the Institute and the places she’s remembering. A minute ago Alec was the one defending the decision that she couldn’t have them back, that it was some nonsensical will of the Angels. Why be honest with her now?
Clary frowns. “You seem familiar. Did we have a class together?”
“No.” Alec shakes his head and Lorenzo notes a look of disappointment cross his features, but just for a moment. I’m a friend of Jace’s. We used to know each other.”
“Then why don’t I remember you?” Clary’s voice is quieter now, worry flitting across her features despite her best attempts to look brave in the face of her situation.
“Because you forgot. You forgot a lot of things that you’re starting to remember now, aren’t you, Clary?”
Clary’s breath hitches at that, her brows furrowing. “Stop calling me Clary,” she deflects instead of answering.
“That was the name on your exhibition,” Magnus points out.
“Only because my psychotic Art Professor couldn’t fit ‘Clarissa Fairchild’ onto the program in full and still have it be ‘aesthetically pleasing’,” she says with an eye roll. “Everyone calls me Clarissa, or just Rissa.”
“Of course, Clarissa, whatever you’re comfortable with,” Magnus agrees.
“...were we friends too?” Clary asks, eyes trained on Magnus’. “There’s something so familiar about you. All of you, actually. Is that why you haven’t hurt me yet?”
The slight waver behind the ‘yet’ pulls at Lorenzo’s heartstrings.
“We’re not going to hurt you at all,” Magnus reassures her. “I know it might sound a little crazy, but that place you went to earlier... you shouldn’t know about it. We’re just trying to keep everyone safe, especially you.”
“It actually doesn’t sound that crazy at all,” Clary admits. “And I trust you. Don’t ask me why, because I know I definitely shouldn’t, but I just do.”
Lorenzo watches the scene unfold as an outsider. It’s a position he finds himself it less and less these days, the longer Magnus and Alec are away from New York and Lorenzo is left to handle business mostly unchecked, trusted by Isabelle and the others more with each passing day since Edom, and the wedding, and Andrew. New issues that arise are his to deal with as he sees fit, his input in the Downworld Council never dismissed, but this? This feels a lot like the start of his appointment to High Warlock all over again.
“Do you think it wise to prompt her this way?” Lorenzo asks Alec in a hushed tone, one Magnus might overhear but Clary will not.
“I don’t know,” Alec admits. “I just need to know how much she knows.”
“We could try to go into her head?” Lorenzo suggests. “Perhaps call upon the Silent--”
At that moment a noise breaks through the relative quiet of the apartment. A cell phone rings, loud but muffled by the fabric of Clary’s jeans. They all look at it in surprise and Clary tenses, eyes darting between the men to weigh her chances of getting to it.
“I just want to warn you that my roommate is a worrier - she’ll probably call the police to track my phone if I don’t come back tonight,” Clary says.
“Answer it,” Magnus tells her.
“What?!” Alec and Clary say at the same time as Lorenzo, all with equal measures of disbelief.
“You said you trust us. So I’m returning that trust. Answer it.” Magnus nods towards the pocket where the sound is coming from, waiting expectantly.
Clary reaches for her phone slowly, and seems continually surprised every inch her arm moves that she isn’t stopped until the phone is out and up to her ear.
“Rebecca? Yeah, I’m fine. Sorry, my battery died.” Clary listens for a second, glances up at the three of them, and bites down on her lower lip.
“I--” she starts, then stops, hesitating again. “I ran into some old friends, I don’t know how late I’ll be. I might crash here for the night, so don’t wait up.”
Lorenzo looks startled at the statement, but Alec and Magnus only smile. He has to stop and remember the girl who would sacrifice herself to save her friends, the one willing to throw herself into the unknown no matter the risk. He didn’t know her for very long, but there was a boldness to her every time they crossed paths for that short period of time. He sees that girl return with a resolved nod at her own words to her roommate.
“See you in the morning,” Clary says, ending the conversation and closing her phone. “God, I hope I don’t regret this,” she adds, looking back up at Alec, Magnus, and Lorenzo. “But I just want you to know I’m staying for me. I feel like I’m going insane today and I want some goddamn answers.”
“How convenient,” Alec says. “Because so do we, so let’s help each other out. Why did you go to The Insti- to that abandoned building today?”
“Honestly? I’m not sure. Second time today that happened, second time it backfired horribly.” Clary sighs.
“So you don’t remember anything about it?” Alec prys.
Clary shakes her head. “Not a real memory. I thought I saw the inside of it, when the doors opened, and it looked like I’d been there before but-” she’s in the middle of speaking when she screws her eyes shut suddenly, bringing her hands up to her head.
All three of them are by her side in a moment, Magnus and Lorenzo each reaching out hesitant hands.
Magnus is the first to react, more comfortable around the girl from their previous friendship, and Lorenzo watches as blue magic flows from his hand and across the top of her head. It should help, the healing, but instead Lorenzo sees Clary’s eyes look up at Magnus, widening first in recognition before closing again in pain much worse than the first time.
“Magnus,” Clary says, the word choking out through gritted teeth. “Make it stop, please.”
“It isn’t working,” Magnus says, and Lorenzo allows him a moment to realize why on his own… but he doesn’t. Of course he doesn’t, he’s too close to the girl, too influenced to be an impartial observer of the facts. Lorenzo watches it play out for a moment in front of him and fears the same clouded judgement for himself one day, especially if today’s willingness to help Andrew with little to no information is any indication.
But for now he pushes those concerns away and steps forward, moving Magnus’ hands out of the way to place his own on either side of Clary’s head. His yellow magic is visible just a moment, a short burst that fades as quickly as it appears.
The next moment Clary is slumped back onto the sofa, unconscious again.
“It’s the memories,” Lorenzo says. “She was in pain at the Institute over her memory of the building returning. Then again just now, except it wasn’t as strong until you used your magic on her. Her pain increased the moment she recognized your magic and said your name.”
“She did, didn’t she. I hadn’t even realized,” Magnus admits, sighing as he sits on the sofa next to her, taking the time to prop her head up onto a pillow and drape a blanket over her this time. “I was so caught up in trying to help I was only making it worse.” He looks around suddenly concerned. “She shouldn’t be here, not if she remembers me; she’ll remember the Loft, too.”
Lorenzo has to agree with Magnus’ reasoning, but the idea of dumping her back off at school is far from appealing at the moment, not after knocking her out twice. The last thing he needs are the police stopping him in the street on kidnapping charges. Magnus may be willing to believe she’s fine with all of this but Lorenzo knows better than to take anyone at their word in a compromising situation.
“So where can we take her that’s safe, but isn’t anywhere she’s been before?” Alec asks, his gaze slowly turning to fall on Lorenzo.
“Don’t look at me, this is your plan, I’m just--” Lorenzo starts, but stops suddenly realizing what Alec is hinting at. “No. No, absolutely not.”
“I’ll come with. She doesn’t remember me yet, so I’m safe,” Alec insists.
“Can’t we just pull her memories from today and send her on her way?” Lorenzo suggests hopefully.
“No,” Magnus insists. “Not again. Twice she’s lost this part of her identity. She’s meant to know, to be part of this world. I’m not watching that get taken from her a third time” Magnus swears.
Lorenzo is about to protest again but there’s such strong conviction behind Magnus’ words that it gives him pause.
“Come on, Lorenzo. We all need answers here, and we aren’t going to get them if we wipe her memories and send her away,” Alec starts, a slow smirk spread across his features. “You said it yourself - what if she shows up at the Dumort next? Then we have to send out a team to save her, and Underhill is in danger, and--”
Lorenzo narrows his eyes. “That’s low, Lightwood.” But this time Magnus doesn't correct him on the name, knowing the delicate balance of the moment they're in. Lorenzo knows that Alec is only saying that to taunt him - he’s a good person, and a good leader, and would never put any of his people in jeopardy unless absolutely necessary. It also drives the point home beyond argument - this isn’t just a Shadowhunter problem, and Lorenzo very specifically has some additional investment in how this plays out.
“Fine,” Lorenzo reluctantly agrees, a portal already swirling open behind them. “Let’s go.”

One Year Anniversary
It was June 27th when I arrived here and the 1st of July when I started with my new management. I had dreams and goals but very few of them came into full fruition, even fewer were executed. A combination of adjustment and dread might have been the reason why. But I want to change that in the second half of this year.
Looking Back
I’ve always been a firm believer that looking back is essential to moving forward so I will do just that but I will be splitting the year in quarters. They’re like short chapters of a fast-paced albeit detached novel. How I even managed to jump from one chapter to the next surprises me.
My first three months was focused on survival. It was my first time living completely alone and I chose a place where I thought it was for sure convenient but I was wrong. Commute is still way better here than the bigger cities but the smaller city I lived in has spoiled me in terms of non-existent traffic congestion. Small city living also spoiled me in the simplicity of buying things. While it is true that I have more options here, I don’t know my way around and the places that I know of is a tad expensive than it should be. At that point, I truly chose comfort over price. I didn’t want to get lost or taken advantage of because I knew full well I had no one to run to. I also told myself I’ll spend my time being selfish and learn as much as I can. I did learn some things but they did nothing but frustrate me because they’re all so good in theory but in application, I couldn’t fully form them. I wasn’t sure if it was my lack of drive or
The next three months was an attempt on taking roots. I say attempt because I felt that the ground I stood on was too soft to actually stand on my own two legs. I got to know my officemates; the good, the bad, the ugly of human interactions. I tried to integrate with them but I feel that my principles are just very different from theirs. By Christmas time, I decided to severe some connections I’ve made because it felt quite suffocating and toxic. I spent the holidays at home and it was just like I remember it; the good, the bad, the ugly of family life. I slept most of the time because I felt exhausted beyond words. The times I was up and about, my family tried to drag me out to do activities. I obliged to some but most of the time, I lazed around. It was when I was reunited with friends that I remembered what home felt like. The few days I spent with them was worth going back to my hometown. Also the more affordable food, yes.
I came back and spent three months trying to exert myself a little more in other aspects of my life. I told myself that I was ready to focus on myself because there’s nothing holding me down; I no longer have a social life after all. It was good for a while until I got too invested and overexerted myself. I’ve always known that getting too invested in something and not meeting my own expectations would cause me to spiral but I pushed myself anyway. I thought that I wasted too much time the past six months that I better make up for it. I could never make for it. I fell hard when I realized that. I knew that I could keep pushing myself but I had limits I couldn’t overstep because I’m not in a safe space to make mistakes. Good lords, I have bills to pay.
The last three months, I was on zombie mode. I felt massive changes were afoot but having that knowledge never quite prepared me of what was to come. My job security is threatened by the changes that rolled out month after month. From being confident with what I did to not feeling like my opinions mattered, it really took a big hit on my mental health. Worse was my coping mechanism. I was so burnt out that I didn’t do my tasks at 100%. I delayed their completion and chose to be distracted by other things. I’ve spent hours and hours trying to go back to loving reading again. I watched TV shows to distract me from the feat that I might be losing my job but it was always there. There was also a sense of betrayal of everything I believed in. It felt like the past year was a year I direly wanted to happen. It wasn’t happening. It’s not gonna happen. I decided to face my realities.
I’m not sure for how long I will stay employed but I don’t plan on giving up. I won’t give up for as long as they want me to stay but I will keep my options open. I will start building myself up from what I know I’m capable of doing. I will commit to things that I know I have skills in and build from there. I don’t have to start from scratch but I will elevate myself.
Moving Forward
I usually do my goal setting shortly after my birthday for novelty. I wasn’t really able to do that last year.  It’s July and half of the year is done but I’d like to think it’s not too late to work on myself so here are a few things I’d like to achieve the next 5-6 months:
Personal-post one selfie per month as a means of self-reflection; limit to one picture and any other content goes on a monthly instastories archive. total: 6 photos by January 3
Art-post one fully rendered artwork per month with a gallery label format caption; limit to one artwork and any other content goes on a monthly instastories archive. total: 6 photos by December 31
Gaming-post one game review per month focusing on gameplay; limit to one game and any other content goes to a monthly instastories archive. total: 6 photos by December 31
Advocacy-post one blog a month on topics relating to environment, nation building, digital security, human rights, and the likes. limit to one blog, any other content goes on Facebook posts. total: 6 blogs by December 31
Relationship-just don’t mess up hahahaha create weekly illustration/photo with narratives as conversational pieces for me and Him and compile the best ones into a zine/tumblog. total: 26 pieces by January 3
That’s a total of 49 commitments from me. I know there are people who commit more to this and this is exclusive from work(and business) commitments. I feel like I’ve trimmed my numbers down because “proper” self-marketing would mean churning out more but this is the number I’m comfortable with. I don’t want to overcommit and fall short altogether because I got overwhelmed by what’s expected of me. Take it easy but still make an effort, ya know? Lezgo, 2019!

I Miss 5 Seconds of Summer???
A few days after 5 Seconds of Summer held their concert in the Philippines last 2016, I wrote a blog post with this exact same title then went on to elaborate that I missed the version of them that I fell in love with. I’ve unarchived it so anyone who bothers to read this has a salient starting point, but be warned: I seriously can’t make it through the entire thing without suffering from a chronic cringe attack—who ever told 16-year-old me that she could write?!
I have listened to 5SOS’ entire discography almost exclusively today. But my Spotify followers wouldn’t know. In an expert attempt to evade their judgment, I go on Private Mode so I can cry to their music in peace. I’ve also been watching a couple of their videos too. My favorite is this live performance of Ghost of You where Calum Hood does some immaculate vocal blending at the 1:26 mark. I have my watch history paused though so I don’t get bombarded with more recommendations and end up spiraling further down the hole.
It’s funny how I think that removing every trace of related activity on my corner of the Internet could also erase it from my own memory, render it as a mere figment of my imagination instead of a clear manifestation that I’m starting to like them again. And it might seem even funnier that I am convinced that people care! But then again, I did unstan them pretty publicly a few years back following a misogynistic interview they did for an issue of Rolling Stone, which also featured all four of them almost fully nude on the cover.
To this day, I continue to dissect the piece with one part of me thinking that I might have overreacted, having seen and read it for the first time when I was 14 and much more of a prude, and the other knowing that I did not. In one paragraph, Luke Hemmings admits that during the early years of the band, they took advantage of the amount of female attention they were at the center of. “They were wildest on their early tours, when they’d go to bars to mingle with fans after shows,” it read.
In another, Hood talks quite nonchalantly about his infamous dick pic that made its rounds on the Internet the year before, and how it surprisingly gave the band a lot of publicity. “Now I’m just working on the sex tape,” he jokes. “I’ll call Pamela up, like, ‘Hey, it’s been a while. We really need to hype this band up!’”
Having risen to fame as the opening act of the clean-cut British-Irish group One Direction, 5SOS was immediately touted as a boyband—next in line to 1D’s throne, or competing with them for the crown, depends on which magazine you read. Though this exposure granted them a huge teenage fanbase (myself included), they hated the label that came with it. They constantly asserted that they played their own instruments and wrote their own songs, and behaved in a way that well-curated, expertly marketed groups would not: carefree, loud, playfully and forgivably naughty. No one would believe them though. People would say it’s the curse of being conventionally attractive in the music industry. You were almost always expected to be a popstar, a commodity that catered to the masses. But they tried anyway: maybe a lip ring and a couple of tattoos would do the trick, sprinkle some curse words here and there in interviews, get caught smoking or drinking.
That interview was their final act: their big-time effort to break away and hopefully land a spot amongst the rock bands they looked up to and wanted so desperately to impress. Even if it meant objectifying, mocking, and taking advantage of the girls who propelled them to stardom in the first place. Simply put, that interview was them desperately trying to get rid of fans like me. And so, I obliged.
Now that I’ve been staying at home for almost three months straight, I have revisited a lot of old favorites: poorly written fan fiction I used to eat up in my early teenage years, full seasons of Nickelodeon TV shows (only the good ones) downloaded off sketchy places on the Internet, my childhood journals filled with my loopy handwriting and family of stick figures. I know I’m not alone in this pursuit: it seems like we’re all holding on to remnants of our past to remind us that we have experienced better days, and they will surely come again soon.
I felt like it was inevitable I’d return to 5SOS because they had released their fourth full-length album during the first few weeks of the quarantine. Everywhere on social media, I was reminded that one single was out, and then another, and then another and I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try. After all, I did give Youngblood, their third record, a spin when it first came out as well. I thought their attempts at experimentation bordered on pretentiousness, and figured that if this was the musical direction they wanted to take, I’d surely hate every succeeding record as well.
But the problem was I really liked it. Although it wasn’t a no-skip album, each track was different from the rest, all showing a level of inventiveness and mastery of musical technique not present in previous releases. After playing the entire thing again and again, even the songs I didn’t vibe with at first started to grow on me. Turns out the beauty of Easier and Teeth is in the details: the thrumming bass at the beginning, the unconventional vocal inflections, best appreciated in an enclosed area with the volume on high. My amazement at how their musical style had progressed over the years led to me listening to all of their albums in chronological order, then rewatching some of their funniest interviews which were alarmingly easy to retrieve from memory.
During these times, I’ve wondered why I still remain curious about what they’re doing, why I still give their music a shot when I see it on my Release Radar. They never apologized for the article and I assume that they talk about things of that sort even more now that they’re older.
And I guess the answer is simple. Besides the fact that the music is honest to God amazing, they kind of made me who I am. Having found them during the height of my teen angst phase, I reveled in having idols who were open about rebelling against the system and forging our own paths despite being looked down on by those older than us. It was through them that I was introduced to bands that further diversified my taste in music, that I started experimenting with a more introspective type of writing that led to the style I employ to this day. I made so many good friends because of them, some of which are still in my life today. Looking back, I wouldn’t consider it the best version of myself but she was different. More importantly, she was really happy.
I am well-versed in the discourse surrounding problematic faves, and I know that if I ever find myself in such a situation, I have two options: either go down the productive, politically correct road and steer clear from them, or continue to consume their work but with the knowledge that what they did was inexcusable. I teeter between boycotting their music altogether—because even Spotify streams can be translated into revenue and there’s nothing that powers oppressors like financial stability and fame—and choosing to separate the art from the artist so I can appreciate good work without the reputation of its creator clouding my judgment.
I guess at this point, I probably am looking at them with rose-tinted glasses. I heard that some victims of even the most abusive and toxic relationships look back at their time with their former significant others with fondness. Though what I had with Calum, Ashton, Luke, and Michael was nowhere near romantic, and their transgressions far from a personal attack, maybe it applies to my situation too. I look at 5SOS now through the lens of the 14-year-old who embedded watching Keeks into her daily routine, or fell asleep listening to Heartbreak Girl on repeat and rejoiced when it hit 1,000 plays on her iTunes. They are no longer that band, and I am no longer that girl. And while it doesn’t hurt to remember the times when we were those people, I must remind myself that things can never go back to the way they were.
Maybe this doesn’t have to be as dramatic as I’m making it. But that’s the good thing about keeping this blog despite getting published on other corners of the Internet—I can make it as dramatic as I want to be.

I dont mean to start anything or anything but do you recieve permission to translate and repost the comics? ;;
Hello anon! Thanks so much for your ask!
I think it’s an important issue and needs to be addressed. I might lose some followers for this, which I’d totally understand, and would not blame them for unfollowing me.
So the answer is, for several artists I have gotten their permission, such as Kougi and syou san, and some artists have stated that they don’t mind if their short comics are translated, like Haru and murabito. Of course, for the doujins they publish (which are much larger works and which they try to make money from) it might be a completely different story. But for most artists, no, I haven’t gotten their explicit permission to do so. If this upsets you anon (or anyone of my followers), I totally understand, and feel free to unfollow me because of it
When I first made the blog I really struggled with this issue too. Of course I want to be respectful of the artists, their intellectual property, and the effort and time it took in creating their works. But in my translating, I’m also putting in my own work and effort too, my way of interpreting text and dialogue, the way I chose to render lines into English, the visual design of text placement, etc. But of course, this doesn’t really suffice to say that the work is ‘mine’, even in part. But in the end, I continued because I really wanted to see their works reach a wider audience, and also to be able to spread more content for the pairing of ChikaRiko.
But in the spirit of trying to be respectful to the artists, there are several things I always make sure I do.
I always credit, with not only their name, but also links to the original work and to their respective social media accounts. They can be found on each translation post and on a special “Artists” page on my blog itself.
I promote supporting the artists by trying to make sure that people who can support the artists, such as those that have twitter accounts, do so by going back to the original art to like, retweet, bookmark, and follow them. If you’re on discord with me, you know I try to be an active voice in this. (And let me just take this opportunity to do some promoting! If you have a twitter or pixiv….go to my Artists page and go support them!)
And one last thing is, should any artist express their wish that I remove any of their work, I will do so without hesitation. This has actually already happened, with the artist yomotsuka, and I was completely willing to oblige.
This may not fully satisfy you, I understand that, and I won’t hold any grudge against you if you chose to unfollow me. But if people continue to request translations from me, I will do so, and do so in the spirit of being respectful to the artists wishes as much as I can.

Starcraft 1 and Brood War Player Characters
Magistrate Michael Drake As the pragmatic but loyal to his men type of fellow Micheal Drake, after he had enough of seeing  the Confederacy’s utter disregard for the people of Mar Sara as the planets Magistrate. He joined up with the Sons of Korhal -a rebel force that fought against the Confederacy- after the colony was abandoned to the Zerg.  Arcturus Mensk, the organisation’s leader saw much potential in the young man’s tactical mind after witnessing his strategies hold back a Zerg assault, and ask him to help in many of the important tactical decisions in his campaign against the Old Families of the Terran Confederacy. He agreed becoming close friends with the Marshall he met on Mar Sara, Jim Raynor and the Ghost, Sarah Kerrigan along the way. At the battle of New Gettysburg however he figured out that Mensk was not the benevolent revolutionary he had made himself out to be. With his recruitment of Edmund Duke and his almost assured use of Psi Emitter’s a device designed to attract Zerg to your enemy that would cause unimaginable destruction on whatever planet it was used against. He began planning a way to get his troops out of the mess before anything bad could happen. Then something bad happened. Kerrigan was taken by the Zerg and Jim, in a fit of rage and grief. Pretty much told Mensk where he could stick his new Dominion, rendered any, and all possibility of plans that involved a subtle exit, moot. After stealing the Hyperion and making their escape, he and Jim started to have a fallout, Micheal feelt that one too many had died already thanks to Jim tipping Mensk off about their desertion from the Sons of Korhal, and Jim was still sore over everything to watch his mouth or even think about what he was coming out of it. They attempted to stick it out, Micheal trusting that Jim only needed time to cool off and deal with the loss of Kerrigan, believing that he at least owed him one as a friend... Then Jim started hearing his dead girlfriend call out to him in from his dreams. So the former-Magistrate decide that Jim probably wasn't resistance leader material dispute Raynor's assurances that he was sure it was real, but Michael was no longer going to risk the lives he was responsible for another’s causes. So after taking part in the evacuation of Aiur he left with any who wanted to leave as well and set off to start his own PMC group. But not without having one last argument with Jim, confronting him on his descent into alcoholism, saying how he had no right to risk the lives of his men on some self serving goal, just like Mensk would. This comment earned him a right hook to the face, in hindsight he came to think he deserved it. Afterword he assisted refuges and struggling planets against both the Zerg and UED during the Brood War. Even taking on stranded UED troops and gear, one of whom was the UED Captain who served directly under Admiral DuGalle named Eleanor Weiss. Hoping these efforts would help bolster his new Company and help in keeping him out of the limelight in the process. Sometimes sending some Tech or recruit’s to Raynor's Raiders as a way of staying in limited contact with his old Friend. Despite assurances from Mensk that he held no quarrel with Michael, saying that he understood that: “You only assisted Raynor, out of an obligation to your friendship”. He made sure to ignore Dominion contracts on the off-chance his former employer was less than honest about that statement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UED Captain Eleanor Weiss Known for her high risk tactics and her loyalty to those under her command Eleanor came from a long line of Military commanders going back to the Middle Ages. Most would use such a family legacy to ensure them an Officer’s position from the start, and stay out of the fight, not her. Instead she continued the Weiss Tradition of starting off enlisted and earn her way into Command, still she able to make Captain before her 30's allowing her to eventually take part in the UED campaign in the Kapulu sector under the leadership of the highly decorated Admiral DeGalle, as  commander of a Cruiser called The Raven. Thanks to her, the UED managed to gain a foothold in the sector with territories taken from both the Zerg Horde, and the recently formed Dominion. But not without great cost in Alexi Stukov, DeGalle’s right hand man thanks to the manipulations of the mysterious Duran. Eventually despite the courage of her men and the attack on Queen of Blades Serah Kerrigan by DeGalle the UED was eventually driven from the Sector. Bravely she and her ship voluntarily turned to face the Zerg forces chasing the fleet as she just as DeGalle had become disillusioned with the death of Sukov. With their defeat at the hands of The Queen of Blades both her and her crew where fully prepared to die holding back the Zerg, to try and allow the rest of the fleet to make it home. After her final briefing with DeGalle she knew without any doubt -thanks to his tone- that he personally, had no intention of making it home alive. Giving him one final Salute before signing out and headed off to face her end. But fate was far crueller than they believed it would be that day. As she discovered too late the Force pursuing them was in fact, far smaller than they realised its true purpose being to corral the unsuspecting fleet into a far larger Zerg ambush. With no chance of warning them in time and knowing pursuit would only result in the Raven’s destruction as well, she ordered her ship deeper into the Sector, allowing the sole UED ship to escape the fate of doomed returning Fleet.     Cut off far from home and in danger at every turn, with only each other to rely on Eleanor and her Crew were forced into piracy raiding Mercenary’s and out of the way rogue settlements (as she refused to prey on the innocent out of principle.)  They eventually managed met the Former Magistrate and Rebel Strategist; Michael Drake and his ship the Oculus. When both were preparing an attack on the same target. Both were impressed with how well they worked together the two lost groups joined forces to form their own Mercenary company with Drake and Weiss as business partners, naming it: Ravens Eye after a combination of their ship names.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it was said somewhere the Protoss player was Artanis in the first game and in Brood War it was Selendis, which with the inclusion of Eleanor here, fits into the pattern that the Brood War POVs where all Female.
Plus with her last name it now means that the UED was lead by a Frenchmen a Russian and a German.
I got the idea from this. https://xiaorobear.deviantart.com/art/Brood-War-Heroes-Old-419810796
Except I modelled my Magistrate after Ben Bowder, of Farscape, and Stargate fame.

My Commission Rules and Info
Please read all of this CAREFULLY before commissioning me!
1. I will only open up a certain amount of commissions slots at a time, once they are full I will close them until I finish those slots and until I have time to open more slots. The open or closed status of my commission slots will be listed at the top of my blog.  2. Please look through my blog to get familiar with my style. If you don't like my style or current artistic abilities, don't commission me. If you’d like to commission me and I am open for commissions, you may contact me through the tumblr’s ask feature at the top of my blog.  3. I only accept payments via paypal or money orders for commissions. If you pay through Paypal, please select the "send money to family and friends" option that way I will get all the money I'm owed. 4. The full cost of your commission is determined by my formula of base price(the prices I have put on my commission example pages) + the time and cost of materials put into your commission. You must pay the base price (which is refundable. Also included in the base price are the additional costs for additional characters and for backgrounds) first before I will start on your commission. Once I am finished with your commission you will get an image of your commission, but it will be in smaller in size and with a big watermark over a key area of your commission. If you are happy with the preview of your finished commission, you must pay the remainder of your commission price which is the time and cost of materials (non refundable). Once you have paid the full amount, you will receive my commission package which contains one full sized image of your commission without the watermark, a scaled down image of your commission with my watermark, a 200px x 200px avatar of your commission, and if I am able, a speedpaint video of me creating your commission. If my payment process still confuses you, here is an example scenario: If you commission me for a fully rendered semi-realistic headshot, with a complex background, and an additional character, your base price to secure your commission slot would be $104.75. I will then start on your commission and keep track of time and use an app to calculate the full price based on time and materials spent. Say I spent roughly 27 hours on your commission, that will make your full commission total $314. So in order to receive your commission package, you will need to pay $195.25. 5. I work on commissions in my free time, and I will work as hard as I can to get them done quickly for you, while also looking nice. They will be a priority on my list of obligations, but I also remember that I have other things that are priorities. I do have a job and things around the house that also require my attention. Once we've discussed the details of the commission I will give you a rough estimate of how long it will take to for it to be finished. If something comes up to prevent me from finishing your commission in that time, I will let you know. If you need a commission done before a specific time, I would advise you to commission me at least several weeks before the date you need it.  6. I will provide you with a Work in Progress (W.I.P) image once I finish each stage of your commission, this is so show you that I am working on it and not ripping you off, as well as to make sure I'm doing work you want me do. If the end result is not what you wanted, we can perhaps work on a way to make it to your satisfaction, if I can't I will give you a refund of the base price, however I must keep the money paid from the time and materials spent so that I don’t lose out on materials etc.   7. If you want a print of your digital commission you will also have to pay extra fees for the printing and shipment of your print. We will discuss the costs of your print before you pay. I will also send you a small scale digital proof of your commission when I finish it so that you will have an idea of what your print will look like when you receive it. 8. I reserve the right to decline any commission request for any reason. 9. I'm limiting the amount of fanart I'm doing to one fanart commission per month, because artists are not allowed to make a substantial profit off of fanart. 10. If you commission me, this gives you the right to use the work commissioned non-commercially ONLY. You do not have the right to re-sell it and you still do not have the right to edit or crop so that my signature/artist mark is removed and then claim as artwork you have created. 12. If we have a smooth transaction I will be listing you as a trusted commissioner in a special blog entry. You don't have to give a shoutout to me, but it would be very nice! 13. However if you somehow rip me off unfairly or use the commission in a way that I have expressly said not to, I will make a report about you here and my other social media outlets to warn other artists.  15. Prices of commissions may go up in the future depending on my skill improvement.
What I Will Do:
OCs, OCxOC pairings, soft yaoi and yuri, animals, people with animal features, anime, semi-realism, fanart (limited to one character per fandom, digital art and traditional sketches only).
What I Will NOT Do:
full furries or mecha (not strong enough on those styles), hentai or heavy sexual scenes, weird fetish stuff that I find disturbing.
Tools I Use:
A graphics tablet, Adobe Photoshop 6, Easy Paint Tool SAI, pencil and paper, colored pencils, prisma colored pencils, wool roving and needle felting needles, glass beads, felt sheets, wax, tarantula skins, aluminum foil, misc jewelry making supplies, etc.
Additional Fees:
1. Extra costs apply if you want your commission mailed to you or if you want me to get a profession print of your commission made. Shipping costs very depending on the commission type you want mailed and your location. 2. If you pay through Paypal, please select the "send money to family and friends" option that way I will get all the money I'm owed. Paypal will add a small additional fee to do that.

THE HYMN
To Thee before the close of day

Heavenly Father bless us all who worship here or elsewhere today in the fellowship of Thy Holy Church. Help us to worship Thee in Spirit and in sincerity and to receive thy Holy Word in singleness of heart and mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Merciful Father, we humbly approach thine Altar, desiring to offer Thee the Sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving.
For thine honor and glory : In remembrance of the death and Passion of Thy Son : In intercession for Thy whole Church : with thanksgiving for the grace and virtue of all Thy Saints. For the pardon of our sins and power to lead a new life: and for (here name any special request or intention).
[My Intention]-Please Dear Precious and Gracious God stop the war, stop the abortion, stop the suffering of all the people in this World especially the killing of innocent people and children in the Middle East by ISIS, have mercy on all of them and forgive them all their sins and bring them to everlasting life and grant them their salvation. Do justice on all their deaths. We dont want the third World War, please dont let us perish, we hope Israel won't be attack. Our World is so beautiful with You in it. We love you so much with all our hearts with all our soul with all our strength that we have to wrap it on our wrist like a pendant on our forehead. Come Jesus come take possession of our hearts that wishes to belong to Thee.3X.
Blessed Virgin Mary says: "We unite our prayers to all the prayers being prayed around the World in this present moment. We take this collective Prayers and use it as a barrier againts the evil that is in hearts all over the World. [Blessed Virgin Mary 10/07/17.
Accept us O God, and bless us for Thy Name's sake. We will draw near to Thy Altar, O our God, there to gain new strength and vigor to our soul; separate us from those unbelievers who have no trust in Thee; grant us that grace which comforts us when the remembrance of our sins afflicts and cast us down; the grace which let's us know there is an everlasting refuge in Thy goodness, and that Thou art ready to forgive even our greatest sins upon a sincere repentance.
THE CONFITEOR
We confess to Almighty God, to the Blessed Mary ever Virgin, to Blessed Michael the Archangel, to Blessed John the Baptist, the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, to all the Saints, and to you Father, that we have very much sinned in thoughts, word and deed, through our fault, through our fault, through our most grievous fault, therefore we beseech the Blessed Mary ever Virgin, Blessed Michael the Archangel, blessed John the Baptist, the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints and you, Father, to pray to our Lord God for us.
AFTER THE CONFITEOR
O our God, who hast commanded us to pray for one another, and in Thy holy Church hast given even to sinners, the power of absolving* from sins, receive with equal bounty the prayers of Thy people for the Priest, and those of the Priest for Thy people.
We beseech Thee O Lord by the merits of those Saints whose relics are here, and of all the Saints, that Thou wouldst Vouch safe to forgive us all our sins, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
AT THE INTROIT.
Grant O Lord we may be truly prepared for the offering of this great sacrifice of Thee his day; and because our sins alone can render us displeasing to Thee, therefore we call aloud to Thee for mercy.
AT THE KYRIE*ELEISON.
Have mercy on us, O Lord, and forgive us all our sins. Have mercy on us O Lord, have mercy on us.
AT THE GLORIA IN EXCELSIS.
Glory be to God on high, and peace on Earth to men of goodwill. We praise Thee; we bless Thee, we adore Thee; we glorify Thee; we give Thee thanks for great glory O Lord God, God, Heavenly King, God the Father Almighty. O Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son. O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, Who takes away the sins of the World, receive our prayer; Who sittest at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For Thou only, Thou only art the Lord, Thou only. O Jesus Christ, together with the Holy Ghost, art most high, in tge glory of God the Father. Amen.
1. ADORATION.
In the first part, from the beginning to the Gospel, you will strive to acquit yourself of the obligation of adoring and praising the Majesty of that God Who is worthy of infinite honor and praise. Wherefore, humble yourself with Jesus, confess sincerely how wretched and how merely nothing you are before so immense a Majesty, and thus humbled internally, and externally, and keeping yourself through out the whole Mass, as you ought to do, very modest and composed, repeat the following words.
O our God, we adore Thee, and acknowledge Thee for our Lord, and the master of our soul. We protest that all we are and all we have are willingly acknowledged by us to be from Thee. And since Thy Supreme Majesty deserves infinite honor and homage, while we are but a poor, helpless being, utterly incapable of paying so great a debt, We* offer up to Thee the humiliation and the homage which Jesus renders to Thee on the Altar. That which Jesus does we purpose also to do, we humble, we abase* ourselves, together with him, before Thy Majesty, we adore Thee with the same humiliation with Jesus practices, we rejoice and we are glad that the Blessed Jesus should give to Thee, in our behalf, infinite honor and homage.
OUR FATHER...15X
HAIL MARY...15X
[TO ADORE GOD]
Repeat many act of this kind, Nor be at all anxious to keep to the words just given, but make use of those which your devotion shall dictate while you remain recollected in, and united with God. This will indeed be a happy fulfillment of the first of your Obligation.
An offering of adoration and recognition of the Supreme Majesty: JESUS CHRIST adores God as fully as He deserves. In the Mass we honor God by God Himself, namely, by Jesus Christ. God is more honored by one Mass than by the perpetual adoration of all the Angel's and Saints together. By this Supreme Glory is brought to the Holy Trinity, Mass being nothing else than the renewal of the offering by Jesus Christ of divine honor on Mount Calvary.
AT THE DOMINUS* VOBISCUM*
Be Thou always with us, O our God, and let Thy grace never depart from us.
AT THE COLLECTS.
ALMIGHTY AND ETERNAL GOD, we humbly beseech Thee mercifully to give ear to the prayers of Thy servant which he offers Thee in the Name of Thy Church and in behalf of us Thy people, accept them to the honor of Thy Name and good of our souls; and grant us all those blessings which may anyway contribute to our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
AT THE EPISTLES.
Be Thou O Lord, eternally praised and blessed for having communicated to the Holy Prophets and Apostles Thy Spirit, disclosing to them, admirable secrets, redounding to Thy glory and our great good. We firmly believe their word, because it is Thine. Give us we beseech Thee the happiness to understand from the Church, by their instructions, what is profitable and grace to practice the same all our lives.
AT THE GRADUAL.
How wonderful O Lord is Thy Name through the whole Earth! I will bless our Lord at all times. His praise shall be ever in my mouth. Be Thou our God and our protector : in Thee alone will we put our trust: let us not be confounded for ever.
11. ATONEMENT.
In the second interval, that is, from the Gospel, to the elevation, you will acquit yourself of the second obligation. Casting a brief glance over your most grievous sins, and recognizing the immeasurable nature of your debt towards divine justice, say with humble heart.
Behold, our God, this traitor who has so many times rebelled againts Thee. Pierced with grief, we abhor and detest our numerous sins, while we offer for them that same atonement which Jesus offers on the Altar. We offer to Thee all the merits of Jesus, the blood of Jesus, Jesus entire God and man, who now, as an unbloody victim, pleads a new for us His bloody sacrifice on the cross. We offer all that he does on that Altar as our mediator and advocate, imploring of Thee to pardon us through His most precious Blood, we unite ourselves with the cry of that loving Blood, and we beseech of Thee mercy for our sins, so grievous and so many. The Blood of Jesus cries for mercy, our contrite heart implores the same. O God if our tears move Thee not, let the supplication of our Jesus move Thee. That mercy which He obtained for the whole human race on the Cross, why should He not obtain it for us on this Altar? We sincerely hope that in virtue of that most precious blood, Thou wilt pardon our grievous transgression, which we shall continue to deplore to the last breath of our life.
OUR FATHER...15X
HAIL MARY...15X
[TO GIVE THANKS TO GOD]
Repeat many of these acts of true and sincere contrition entirely recollected in God, and feel sure that in this way you will fully discharge the debt of your many sins.
An offering of Atonement for the forgiveness of daily sins and the temporal punishments due for mortal sins that are already forgiven. The Holy Mass makes mercy possible where there is sufficient sorrow for deadly sins.
AT THE GOSPEL.
Mayst* Thou be ever adored and praised, O Lord, who not content and instruct and inform us by the Prophets and Apostles, hast even Vouch safed* to speak to us by Thy only Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, commanding us from a voice from heaven, to hear him: grant us O merciful God, the grace to profit by His divine and heavenly doctrine. All that is written of Thee, dread Jesus, in Thy Gospel, is truth itself: nothing but wisdom ; in Thy actions; power and goodness in Thy miracles; light and instructions in Thy words. With Thee, Sacred Redeemer are the words of Eternal life; to whom shall we go, but to Thee, Eternal fountain of Truth! Give us, O God, grace to practice what Thou commandest, and command what Thou pleasest.
AT THE CREDO.
We Believe O Lord, all Thou hast taught us, by Thy Holy Church: in this faith, by the assistance of his grace, we desire to live and die; by Thy divine grace, we are convinced of the sincerity and wisdom of those who have delivered these Sacred truths to us. Their miraculous success is a sufficient proof, where shall we go our Lord? Thou hast the words of Eternal life. Of Thy truth, thus delivered, our reason and will shall never doubt, though our senses and vain imagination should. We Believe O Lord, help our unbelief.
AT THE OFFERTORY.
Accept O Holy Father Almighty and Eternal God, this unspotted Host, which we, Thy unworthy servant, offer Thee, our living and through God, for our ennumerable sins, offences and negligences, and for all here present, and for all faithful Christians, living and dead; that it may avail us and them to life everlasting. Amen.
We offer Thee O Lord, the Chalice of salvation, beseeching Thy Clemency, that it may ascend before Thy divine Majesty, as a sweet perfume of our salvation, and for that of the whole World.
Accept us O Lord, in the spirit of humility and a contrite heart; and grant that the Sacrifice which we offer this day in Thy sight, may be pleasing to thee, O Lord God.
AT THE OBLATION.
Thou Lord, who once vouchsatedst, to wash Thy disciples feet, before their invitation to Thy Holy table, wash us also, we beseech Thee, O Lord, and wash us again; not only our feet and hands, but our hearts, our desires, our souls, that we may be wholly innocent and pure.
Receive O Holy Trinity, this oblation we make Thee in memory of the passion, resurrection, and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ, and in honor of the ever Blessed Mary ever Virgin ; of the Blessed John the Baptist; of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul; of these and of all the Saints ; that it may be available to their honor and our salvatition; and may they vouchsafe* to intercede for us in Heaven whose memory we celebrate on Earth. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
AT THE ORATE*FRATRES.
May our Lord, receive this sacrifice from Thy hands, to the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the benefit of His whole Church.
AT THE SECRET PRAYERS PROPER FOR THE DAY.
Mercifully hear our prayers, O Lord and graciously accept this oblation, which we Thy servant are making to Thee: that as we offer it to the honour of Thy Name, so it may be to us, a means of obtaining Thy grace here, and in the next life, everlasting happiness. Amen.
AT THE PREFACE.
It is truly meet and just right and available to salvation that we always, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, Holy Lord, Father Almighty, Eternal God, through Christ our Lord, by whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, domination adore it, the powers tremble before it, the heavens and heavenly virtues, and blessed Seraphim, with common Jubilee glorify it; together with whom we beseech Thee, that we may be admitted to join our voices, saying in a humble manner.
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Sabbath ; Heaven and Earth are full of Thy glory.
Hosanna in the highest Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest.
AT THE CANNON OF THE MASS.
Most Merciful Father: Who hast given us Thy only Son to be our daily sacrifice incline thine ears to our prayers, and favour our desires ; protect, unite, and govern Thy whole Church throughout the World, pour forth Thy blessing on His present Holiness, that Prelate who has a particular charge over us, and all true professors of the Catholic faith.
AT THE COMMEMORATION OF THE LIVING.
We offer Thee O Eternal Father, with this Thy Minister at tge Altar, this oblation of the Body and Blood of Thy only Son, to Thy honor and glory; in remembrance of our Saviours* Passion, in thanksgiving for all Thy benefits, in satisfaction for all our sins, and for the obtaining of Thy grace, whereby we may be enabled to live virtuously* and die happily. We desire Thee likewise to accept it, O God for my parents, (if alive) relatives, friends, and benefactors : grant them all blessings spiritual and temporal. We offer it up also, (name the particular intention you offer it up for ; as for obtaining this virtue, overcoming that vice; for blessings, such as health, etc.) Likewise for all that are in misery; for those i have anyways injured in word or deed; for all our enemies; for the conversion of sinners, and enlightening all that sits in darkness. Pour forth Thy blessings on all, according to their different necessities, through the merits of Thy only Son our Lord.
Give ear we beseech Thee, to the prayers of Thy servant, who is here appointed to make this oblation in our behalf, and grant it may be effectual for the obtaining of all those blessings which He asks for us
Behold, O Lord, we all here present to Thee in this Bread and Wine the symbols of our perfection O Lord, that they maybe made for us the true Body and Blood of Thy dear Son: that being consecrated to Thee by this Holy victim, we may live in Thy service, and depart this life in Thy grace.
111. THANKSGIVING.
During the third space of time, from the Elevation till Communion, reflect on the great and manifold benefits bestowed on us, or designed for us by God, and then offer to Him in return a gift of infinite value that is the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, Then invite all the Angels and all the Saints, to thank God in our behalf, in the following or some similar words.
Behold us, our most Beloved God, laden with the benefits both general and particular which Thou deignest* bestow on us in time and to store up for us in Eternity. We know that Thy mercies towards us have been and are infinite, but we are ready to repay Thee all even to the last farthing. Behold we thank and repay Thee, by this most precious Body, this Divine Blood, this innocent Victim, which we present to Thee by the hands of Thy Priest. We are certain that this offering which we make is sufficient to repay all the gifts Thou hast bestowed on us. This gift of infinite value is by itself worth all the gifts which we have received, which we do now received, and we are yet to receive from Thee. O Holy Angels and Saint in Heaven, help us to thank our God and to offer Him in Thanksgiving for each benefits, not only this but all the Masses that are being actually celebrated throughout the World in order that His Loving beneficience*may remain fully recompensed for so many graces which He has bestowed on us, which He is about to bestow, and will bestow through Eternal ages. Amen.
Our Father...15X
Hail Mary...15X
[TO DO PENANCE AND TO OBTAIN REMISSION OF SINS]
Oh, how our God will be pleased with thanks so affectionate! This offerings worth all other gifts, is of infinite value. Repeat such acts over and over again, and be assessed that in this way we will make great approaches in satisfying this obligation.
An offering of Thanksgiving to God, the origin of all blessings. Here also Jesus takes our place and He thanks the Creator with infinite perfection for all His Heavenly and Earthly blessings. With and by Jesus alone we can fulfill entirely our duty of thankfulness towards God.
AT THE ELEVATION OF THE HOST.
Most adorable body, we adore Thee, with all the powers of our soul. Lord who hast given thyself entirely to us, grant we may become entirely thine, we believe; O Lord, help our unbelief.
Most Merciful Saviour, be Thou our protector; strengthen and defend us by Thy Heavenly grace, now, and especially at every hour of our life, and at the hour of our death, sweet Jesus. Amen.
My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ when we take this Eucharist You will heal our body mind and soul. Lord bless and heal everyone at this moment. [Blessed Virgin Mary].
AT THE ELEVATION OF THE CHALICE.
Most adorable Blood, that washest* away, all our sins, we adore Thee, happy we, could we return our life and blood for thine, O Blessed Victim.
O Jesus, do Thou cleanse, sanctify, and preserve our souls to Eternal life. Live Jesus in us, and may we live in Thee. Amen.
O VICTIM OF Salvation! ETERNAL KING! Incarnate Word! Sacrificed for us and all mankind! Precious Body of the Son of God! Sacred Flesh, torn with nails, pierced with a lance, and bleeding on a Cross, for us poor sinners! Amazing goodness! Infinite Love! O let that tender love, plead now in our behalf: let all our iniquities be here effaced, and our name be written in the Book of Life. We Believe in Thee: We hope in Thee; We love Thee. To Thee be honor; praise, glory, and benediction, for ever and ever. Amen.
O Sacred Blood, flowing from the wounds of Jesus Christ, and washing away the sins of the World! Cleanse, sanctify, and preserve our souls, that nothing may ever separate us from Thee. Behold, O Eternal Father, Thy only begotten Son, and look upon the Face of Thy Christ, in whom Thou art well pleased. Hear the voice of His Blood crying out to Thee, not for vengeance, but for mercy and pardon. Accept this divine oblation and through the infinite merits of all the sufferings that Jesus endured on the Cross for our salvation, be pleased to look upon us, and upon all Thy people, with an eye of mercy. We most humbly beseech Thee, Almighty God, command these things to be carried by the hands of Thy Holy Angels to Thy Altar on High, in the sight of Thy Divine Majesty that as many as shall partake of the most Sacred Body and Blood of Thy Son in this Altar may be filled with every Heavenly Grace and blessings, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
AFTER THE ELEVATION.
It is now O Lord, with grateful hearts we call to mind the Sacred mysteries of Thy Passion and death of Thy resurrection and ascension. Here is Thy Body that was broken; Here is Thy Blood that was shed for us, of which this exterior sins are but the figures and yet in reality contain the substance. It is now we truly offer this O Lord, that pure and Holy Victim which Thou hast been pleased to give us ; of which all the other sacrifices were but so many types and figures.
AT THE MEMENTO FOR THE DEAD.
We offer Thee again, O Lord this Holy Sacrifice of the Body and Blood of Thy only Son, in behalf of the faithful departed, and in particular for the souls of [ here name whom you chiefly propose to pray for...Mother Angelica] your parents, (if dead) relatives, benefactors, neighbors, etc..
Likewise of such as we have anyways injured or been the occasion of their sins, of such as have injured us, and been our enemies; of such us die in war, or have none to pray for them, etc..
To Thee O Lord, and to all that rest in Christ, grant we beseech Thee, a place of refreshment light and peace; through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
AT THE NOBIS* QUOQUE* PECCATORIBUS.
Vouch safe to grant to us poor and miserable sinners, judge us not according to our demerits ; but the infinite multitude of Thy mercies, in which we hope finally extend to us Thy grace and pardon.
We ask it of Thee, in the name of Thy dear Son, Who liveth and reigneth eternally with Thee, and in that form of prayer which He Himself hath taught us.
THE PATER NOSTER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy Name Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven; Give us this day our daily bread ; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those that trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Deliver us from those evils, which we labor under at present ; from past evils which can be nothing but our manifold sins ; and from all the evils to come, which will be the just chastisement of our offence, if our prayers and those more powerful ones of thy Saints who intercede for us, intercept not thy justice or excite not thy bounty.
AT THE BREAKING OF THE HOST
Thy body was broken and th6 blood shed for us ; grant that the commemorative of this Holy Mysteries may obtain for us peace; and that those who receive it may find everlasting rest.
THE AGNUS DEI
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the World, have mercy upon us.
Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the World have mercy upon us.
Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the World, grant us peace.
THREE REVELATIONS OF OUR LORD
Dear Lord we adore Your Sacred Heart which we desire to enter with acts of Love, Praise, Adoration and Thanksgiving. We offer You our own heart as we sigh to You from it's very debts; asking that You will work through us in all that we do this day, thus we may draw You closer to us than You were before. We offer You all the Crosses and sufferings of the World, in union with Your Life on Earth in expiations for sins. Please join our every action and heartbeat to the pulsation of Your Heart. We unite all our works of this day to those labors You performed while You are on Earth, bathing them in Your Precious Blood and we offer them to the Heavenly Father so that many souls maybe saved. Amen.
PREPARATION FOR HOLY COMMUNION
Dear Jesus we ardently desire to receive You. The moment draws near, the rapturous moment in which we shall receive You our God, into our soul. We come to You, we run to meet You with the utmost devotion and reverence of which we as a little child were capable. Stretch for Your most Sacred Hands to embrace our soul. Your pierced Hands which ever stretched forth amid the anguish of Your Passion to embrace all sinners. We stretch forth not only our hands, but our hearts and our soul to embrace You and to feed You into the innermost and secret reasses of our hearts.
Would that we had within us as a precious devotion love and purity as the heart of any mortal. Would that we were filled with all virtues with all holy desires with perfect devotion. Would that we had the purity of all Your Angel's, the charity of all Your Apostles, the holiness with all Your confessor the chastity and cleanness of heart of all Virgins and the holy fire of love of all the martyrs. Would that we have receive You now with all the devotion reverence and love with which Your most Blessed Mother receive You in Your own incarnation and in Your adorable Eucharist. Would that we had your own Sacred and Divine Heart that we might receive You as Your ineffable majesty deserves.
We offer You our sweetest Jesus- to be our fitting preparation to make amends for all our unworthiness, our negligence our lack of preparation devotion and affections. We offer You the love which the Saints and the Blessed Mother had wa hen they receive You in this Holy Sacrament. We offer You most Holy Jesus, Your own meritorious Heart and all the suitable virtuous and Grace's which the most Blessed Trinity bestowed without measure upon it, that all the vileness and all our unworthiness maybe covered and that a proper and most peaceful abode maybe prepared for You in our soul. Amen.
AT THE PRAYER BEFORE COMMUNION
In saying to Thy Apostles our Peace we leave You our peace we give You, Thou hast promised O Lord to all Thy Church that peace which the World cannot give ; peace with Thee and peace with ourselves.
Let nothing O Lord ever interrupt this Holy Peace. Let nothing ever separate us from Thee, to whom we heartily desire to be united through the Blessed Sacrament of Peace and reconciliation. Let this food of Angel's strengthen us in every Christian duty so as never more to yield under temptation or fall into our common weaknesses.
Lord we are not worthy thou shouldst enter under our roof, say only the word and our soul shall be healed. 3X
A SPIRITUAL COMMUNION.
Most loving Jesus, we adore Thee with a lively faith, who art present in this Sacrament by virtue of Thy infinite power, wisdom and goodness. Bit conscious of our infirmities and sins. We dare not now receive Thee sacramentally. All our hope is in Thee! We love Thee O Lord with all our heart who hast so lived us; and therefore we desire to receive Thee now spiritually.
Come, therefore, O Lord, to us in spirit, and heal our sinful soul. Feed us for we are hungry ; strengthen us for we are week ; enliven and sanctify us with Thy Sacred Body and Blood ; deliver us from all sin, and make us always obedient to Thy commands; and let us never be separated from Thee our Saviour, who, with the Father and the Holy Ghost lives and reignest* one God for ever and ever. Amen.
AT THE ABLUTION.
Give us, O Lord, a part in the fruits of Thy death and passion, the Sacred memory of which we have commemorated in our present sacrifice and communion. Happy those who sit at Thy table to partake of the bread of life! O Jesus, our soul sighs after Thee! I long with Thy Apostle to be dissolved and to be with Thee. Our heart and our whole body, with transports of Joy, Seek the living God.
Our soul languishes with the ardent desire of entering into the house of our Lord. We love Thee O our God with all our heart O that we could always enjoy the Presence of Thy Adorable Body which is the pledge of our Eternal happiness! We adore Thy goodness and return Thee infinite thanks, O gracious Lord for Thy inestimable favor and mercy, in admitting us to be present this day at the dread sacrifice, where Thou art both Priest and victim. Make us O God, always sensible of this great blessing, and let not our unworthiness put a stop to the effect of Thy mercy and goodness.
AT THE COMMUNION.
Let it be now, O Lord, the act of Thy mercy that we, who have been present at this Holy mystery, may find the benefit of it in our souls.

1V. IMPETRATION.
In the fourth space of time, from the Communion to the End, after having made a spiritual Communion while the Priest communicates sacramentally, confidently ask for divine graces, knowing that Jesus is united with you and supplicates for you. Expand your heart, and be not content to ask for things of small importance, but ask great graces your offering being so great, namely the Heavenly Father's divine Son.
Say with an humble heart :
Most gracious God too well we recognized ourselves as unworthy of that favors. We confess our supreme unworthiness and that because of our many and grievous sins we deserve not to be heard. But how wilt Thou be able to refuse attention to Thy divine Son Who on this Altar intercedes for us and offers to Thee in our behalf, His Body and His Blood? O our most beloved God, hear the prayer of this our great Advocate and for His sake grant us all the graces which Thou knowest to be necessary for accomplishing the great affair of our Eternal salvation. And now that we take heart to ask of Thee, a general pardon of all our sins, and the grace of final perseverance. We also ask of Thee our God trusting in the merits and intercession of our Jesus all virtues in a heroic degree and all the aids efficacious for making us a true Saint. We ask of Thee the conversion of all unbelievers and of all sinners, and particularly of those who belong to us by the ties of blood or by spiritual affinity. We beg of Thee the liberation not of one soul only but of all the souls in purgatory. O bring them all out so that through the efficacy of this divine sacrifice that prison may be emptied wherein they are undergoing their purification. Convert also the souls of the living; may this miserable World become a paradise of delight for Thee, where loved reverenced and praised in time by all of us we may come afterward to praise and bless Thee for eternity. Amen.
Our Father...15X
Hail Mary...15X

Reign in us as in Thy own inheritance: for Thou O Lord, hast made us : Thou hast redeemed us, may we be ever thine.
We have sinned too much against Heaven, and before Thee and we are not worthy to be called Thy Son.
Thou God Incarnate have pity on our frail and mortal flesh and grant it may one day see what it there adores below. Amen.
We render Thee all possible praise and thanks O Sovereign Creator, for the favor we have this day received from Thy bounty, and of which many better deserving Christians are deprived. Receive O Lord, our unworthy prayers supply all our defects, pardon all our distraction and indifference and grant that by the strength and virtue of the Divine mysteries we may go on cheerfully in the path of Thy Commandments, love and service, amidst all the temptations, troubles and dangers of our lifes Pilgrimage, till we shall one day happily arrive at Thy Heavenly Kingdom, where, with the Blessed Angels and Saints we shall more dearly contemplate Thee, adore perfectly, enjoy Theeand more adequately celebrate Thy infinite goodness and mercy, with an interrupted canticles of Eternal praise, admiration and gratitude.

7 Events You Need To Have If You Crave To Live Your Life Harmonizing To Batman
After experiencing “Batman v Superman: Sunup of Justice, ” I can’t stop thinking about whether or not someone could actually be Batman.
I think we all assume that we at least have a chance. I mean, that’s what becomes Batman so relatable. He’s human. As in he isn’t an alien, meta-human or monstrosity. Nor does he have superpowers. He’s precisely a regular guy.
Of course, there are other human heroes without powers of any kind. TakeTony Starkfor example. But Tony is still a billionaire inventor who generated an item in his cellar and built his own Iron Man suit.Bruce Wayneis just rich. He’s not an inventor and truly doesn’t have any kind of background that they are able to give him an advantage over anybody else( other than a deep, deep appetite to retaliate his parents’ death ). Every skill Bruce Wayne has, he learned. I’m not sure exactly how rich he even is, thoughForbes thought his Net Worth at $6.9 Billion.
Quick note on the movie itself: Proceed see it. I thought it was great( the Batman part, that is ), which I’ve covered.
So, you want to be a disguised vigilante? Here’s what you’ll need.
1. The skills.
First, Batman is a master investigator. He’s likewise a original in hand-to-hand engagement and skilled in the use of handguns, explosives and all things tactical. He’s also one of best available snoops in the world. All skills and properties that can be learned.
Bruce Wayne is too a very spiritual gentleman, extensively trained in Far-East philosophies and rules. In information, I’d say this is one of Batman’s greatest fortitudes and the reason why he is able to remain a beacon of hope for the person or persons of Gotham. He has the study and willpower to never make the influence get to his head. In information, he almost always abides loyal to his significances as a gentleman. While this isn’t something that merely anyone can memorize, it can be sharpened. I would call this attribute constituent genetic and partlearned.
Here’s the thing, while Bruce Wayne wasn’t forced to learn these sciences, he was certainly nudged in the right direction by its own experience with his parents’ fatality. He then used it to clear himself stronger and better. Depending on what storyline you’re construe, Bruce Wayne was either scared of the darkness or flourished in it. Either path, it molded him into the man he became.
Now look, when talking about the Dark Knight, you can’t overlook the benefits that his property has provided him. You just can’t. And without a Kevlar suit and ultra-high-tech gizmoes, there’s no way in hell a 5-foot, 7-inch, 160 -pound guy like myself could ever be the Caped Crusader. I necessitate truly, I wouldn’t stand a chance against Bane or Superman.
But, and this is a big but, that doesn’t means that any billionaire can achieve what Bruce was able to accomplish. You still have to be driven. You must be singularly focused on a life of anonymity and felony battle. You can’t have a wife, you can’t have teenagers, you can’t even have hobbies.
Most beings couldn’t do that. It takes a special person to throw in the work required to be a professional contestant or successful entrepreneur. Batman is a hybrid of the two. Let’s be real, most of can’t leave our phone off the counter during dinner, let alone live a life of solidarity for Gotham’s greater good.
Ben Affleck expertly draws this in “Dawn of Justice.” Affleck’s character is Batman through and through. His nature prospect is frightful. He’s hardened by years of villainy. He’s older, wiser and meaner. He understands the threats against our way of life and would do anything to destroy those menaces even kill.
Christian Bale’s Batman was conflicted. He didn’t fully understand his lieu in Gotham, let alone the world. And his indecision almost went him killed. In “Dawn of Justice, ” Batman is a professional. He knows EXACTLY what he is.
2. The time.
Sure, they are able to discover anything if you put your thinker to it. But here’s the thing, if you want to retain that skill, or better yet, employer that science, you have to practice like a lord. You must discover, apprentice and live and breath the skill. Bruce Wayne didn’t become “the mens” he is just by showing up.
Some comics have claimed that Batman is an expert in every known martial art. That’s f* cking illogical. But here’s what is possible: Perhaps Bruce Wayne contacted the best MMA coach in the world and winged him to Gotham. Perhaps he dedicated hours, every day for months, to pay a pitch-black region. He likely rolls around with Anthony Bourdain and Joe Rogan on the weekends. He sits ringside at UCF and talks shop with Connor McGregor after the fights.
Maybe you can do the same. Find best available tutor in your region and get to work. Wayne likely replicated this plan for his yoga and reflection practice. And certainly he contracted the best strength coach-and-four in America, perhaps “the worlds”, to program his training.
But that’s where concepts get involved. Appreciate, as a mortal with an anonymous alter-ego, Bruce Wayne can’t tell anyone get too close, as he ranges of risk of them putting two and two together.
The problem’s that basically every time person memorizes about Batman’s true-life identity, they end up dead. So it’s more about protecting them than it is about the risk of being exposed. Batman knows and accepts the possibility of his own demise. In a course, he already died once when his mothers were killed. But what Wayne could never consent is telling another man die for him.
3. Alfred Pennyworth.
One of the things I freaking cherished about “Batman v Superman: Sunup of Justice” is that they lastly get Alfred right. Don’t get me wrong; Michael Caine was great as Alfred in the Christopher Nolan trilogy. But Batman still needed an inside man in Lucious Fox.But ideally, the fewer people who get close, the better. This leaves a tremendous burden on Alfred.
But his chore get deeper. Appreciate, in order to stay up on the goings on in the world, the newest trends in health, fitness and combat, and to organize what would be one of “the worlds largest” grueling planneds imaginable, what Batman genuinely involves is a manager. Enter Alfred.
He’s in charge of constructing sure Bruce is up at 5 am every morning to do cardio, study and/ or tradition yoga. After, maybe he’d prep thecryo-chamber so Bruce can get some cryotherapy or maybe a sauna session.
In words of training, in“Dawn of Justice , ” Wayne is shown doing chin-ups and squattings, pushing and rowing a Prowler weight sled, and crushing a tractor tire with a mallet. I think this is pretty much exactly the type of training Batman would need. But to stay honest, he still needs a tutor, someone to platform his training.Batman’s best bet is for Alfred to serve in this role too.
Alf would then summary him on what’s going on in Gotham and beyond over breakfast. At this quality, to go all in, Bruce couldn’t handle the day to day of Wayne Enterprises, and that’s fine. His nature isn’t in it regardless. He would still be the chairman and have certain obligations as such, but Alfred would have to be razor sharp-witted when it is necessary to business.
4. Money.
Our Batman precisely doesn’t have meter for a daytime position. Money is most certainly going to be a factor.
After a nutritionist-planned breakfast, he would train in MMA, go to the grease-gun range, or maybe attend a business lunch or form. He’d echoing the buzzer on Wall st.. He’d have to regularly, as Batman, meet with the GCPD and might even need to go to Washington to meet with the President and with Homeland Security.
He’d be a privatized artillery of the state. But he’d do it for free. If he got paid, his identity would be general knowledge. Unless he was able to obtain some CI-Alevel clearances. Our median Joe Batman would have some disturb in this district. He would be a lot like Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne: an amateur vigilante.
Wayne would also need a style to roam, in private. Conflict doesn’t simply happen in Gotham, and if Batman is an elite detective, his business would be requested the world over.
I’ve readarticlesthat said here today would expense upwards of $600,000, 000 to be Batman. And while those figures appear well-researched and make sense, the average Joe switched Caped Crusader can’t render that kind of hardware. His basic and most important needs are to stay alive, be able to maintain an athletic advantage, and a few playthings like a grappling handgun, inhaled bombards, grenades and batarangs.
Finally, Batman would need some handguns. Let’s be real here. Would you don a mask and lead full-on vigilante in malevolent Gotham against the likes of the Joker and Bane without firepower? I wouldn’t. Batman would need a military-issue rifle, a shotgun, a few handguns and a high-powered sniper rifle plus some ammo.
Now add in some espionage gear, and I think you could effectively be a minimalist Batman for about$ 1 million. It’s a sizable price tag, but to stay alive and be worth a shit as a cloaked vigilante, it’s a necessary cost.
5. Coaches.
As I mentioned above, in order to stand sharp-worded, Batman needs to train. A pile. If he wants to be best available in the world, he would needto train with best available in the world. And what’s the time of has become a vigilante if you aren’t going to get the best? There is no pointbecause you would get killed.
In the first cinema of the Christopher Nolan Trilogy, “Batman Begins, ” Bruce Wayne trained with the League of Shadows and Ra’s al Ghul. In real life, we would need person a bit more qualified and up with the times of modern counter-terrorism warfare.
I’d recommend that our Batman find an teacher that is well-trained in secrecy, to school him or her the destructive arts. Like most people that help in your quest, they would need to sign an NDA and wouldn’t be able to ask many questions. Guys likeMark Divine, Marcus Luttrell, andJocko Willinkcome to mind; all three gentlemen are SEALs, and all are badass.
6. A Batmobile.
Our Batman likely can’t afford a $18,000, 000 Tumbler, but I’m supposing a Humvee or Tesla would serve our purpose, as long as they are fit with bulletproof spaces and other tactical supplements. TheHumveemakes sense because it’s armed, and we know Wayne Manufacture has its hand in military contracting. But again, we’re talking about an average Joe here , not Bruce Wayne, this is why we don’t have those connections.
I like the relevant recommendations of theTesla because it’s electrical, establishing it the additional benefits of being a non-explosive vehicle with great acceleration. And they seem legit. Let’s not forget that Bruce Wayne has a quite baller social life, and he needs to look the part.
7. A Batcave.
I think it’s time to drop the age-old, lonely Wayne Manor narrative. Our Batman is a motivated follower. Driven , not broken.
In “Dawn of Justice, ” Wayne Manor and Batcave is the best I’ve realise to time. It’s a bachelor-at-arms pad, and a freaking sweet one at that. But again, we’re not all Billionaires and Millionaires. We simply requirement a neat place outside Gotham to prepare our HQ. Then we need to buttress it and build a badass basement.
And hey, our Batman is likely going to get laid, so we should make it seem modern, yet comfy and heated. Again, “Dawn of Justice” nailed it.
At this moment, I’m spent “ve been thinking about” the time, practice, money, and psychological commitment necessary to be the Dark Knight.
So, young grasshopper, is it really possible to be Batman?
Yes. It’s possible.
Is it probable? No course in hell.
It’s true-life that you have the same sum of hours in a period as Beyonc, but aside from a very, very small group of parties, that doesn’t mean it’s feasible to accomplish the work required to become Batman.
In conclusion, leave the misdemeanour engaging to members of the military, police, and three-letter government organizations.
And proceed ensure “Batman v Superman.” # TeamBat
Document: the writer strongly deters anyone from being a masked vigilante .

HWANG SOMI – THE SUN. AGENT 11.
                                                   [   FILE TYPE: CLASSIFIED   ]
//: LOADING PROFILE: HWANG SOMI ...
international age: 21 birthplace: daegu, south korea arcana: the sun team number: five
//: LOADING MUTATION: LIGHT MANIPULATION  ...
application one: light solidification — Somi’s least favorite application. The ability she deems ‘the least fun, and therefore the most difficult to concentrate on’, light solidification allows her to manipulate photons to solidify light. It’s practice calls for her to be in constant touch with the created object, Somi uses it for a more hands-on and detailed ‘attack’ without calling too much attention to herself. Her preferred way of using it is by creating a type of enhanced rope, good for keeping people at bay or dragging objects that might otherwise be too heavy, but she generally avoids using it as it requires a great deal of concentration and incapacitates her to a degree.
application two: holographic projection — The application that most requires Somi’s concentration, but entertains her the most. With holographic projection, Somi is able to create, shape, and manipulate three-dimensional holograms. As she is such a visual person, the amount of concentration necessary doesn’t put Somi off, however, the more her concentration wavers, the more unrealistic the image starts to become ( static, scan lines, blurriness and/or fading ). She can only recreate objects she’s seen before, whether in real life or by picture, and the fresher the image in her mind the better. The more detailed the image the harder it is for her to conjure up a clear hologram, making most living things very hard for her to copy at her level. Somi mainly uses this ability to trick her opponents, or anyone that might be in the way of her achieving a goal.
application three: light constructs — Of all of her abilities, she considers this one her more useful one in field. Both apt for offensive and defensive measures, this ability allows Somi to create any kind of construct from light. She’s theoretically able to create any weaponry, shield, tools, and object possible. She’s able to create light ‘limbs’ to create a wider range of damage, and tall, wide walls or bubbles to act as shields for herself or for her teammates. This application requires the least amount of concentration, but begins to demand more concentration the more detailed and/or complicated (whether it moves, etc.) the construct might be. Out of everything, this is also the ability that reacts the most to her emotions, obligating her to learn how to manage her emotions to avoid unnecessary damage.
overall strengths and weaknesses:
— Her powers in general all demand a great deal of concentration and therefore are likely to drain her of all energy very quickly if she isn’t careful. It’s also very easy for her larger, damage-dealing light constructs to get out of control. Her general affinity for visuals and memory allows for her holograms to have a lesser chance of failing or losing how real they look ( sans the more complicated, detailed holograms ). Nothing she makes is permanent, and are all short-lived unless she is continuously putting effort in keeping them up, which she only leaves for things like shields and walls, as the general practice can be extremely exhausting if she holds it for too long periods of time. Her strength lies in the more offensive tactics, finding it easier to attack and switch off different constructs rather than having to focus and pour continuous effort on defensive methods. Their connection to her emotions, while helpful in one occasion or the other for necessary energy boosts, it also means she must be levelheaded in all of her missions. Also, because of the nature of her powers, Somi is very rarely rendered completely unable to use them, making them very useful one way or the other in most types of situations. Other prominent side effects from her abilities are a very large appetite, she’s always extremely hungry after using them, unless it’s a miniscule amount, and she’s prone to getting quite hot, both of which can serve as distractions and the latter being potentially dangerous.
//: LOADING HISTORY ..
PRE-MUTATION
Sang Bora and Hwang Joongki, a humble married pair living in a comfortable apartment in Daegu, South Korea, had dreamed of one day having kids of their own. They daydreamed about baby rooms and concepts for family photos, hoped for two kids, a boy and a girl, to spoil and cherish as much as they could. They tried unsuccessfully for months before each agreeing to see specialists, determined to get to the root of their problem. It takes two weeks; two weeks, and they’re told Bora’s ability to conceive is too close to nonexistent. It would take a miracle, they said, for them to conceive even one child, and another miracle to ensure both the parent and the fetus made it out healthy and alive. Ever so determined and full of stubborn hope, Bora and Joongki refused to give up. They were nearing an entire year of trying, when their efforts finally gave in; by some miracle, they’re blessed with a very healthy, very beautiful baby girl. They named her Hwang Seongja.
It’s almost three glorious years after Seongja’s birth, spent being fawned over and gushing over their miracle baby, when they’re hit with a heart-stopping surprise; Bora’s pregnant, again, by yet another miracle. Joong-ki was overjoyed, finally, their collective dream family was coming together, piece by piece. Bora felt differently. By the time Somi was born, the attention that was previously being given to the older sibling had diminished substantially, the focus now shifted onto Somi ( the true miracle child, they’d say, she was the genuine surprise ). Jealousy reared its ugly head, Bora slowly tipping to an unhealthy mental state, obsessed with the idea that no one could ever match up to her beautiful, unique Seong-ja. It takes a year, so close to Seong-ja’s fourth birthday, before Bora finally snaps; unspeakably furious, instability and irrationality consuming her soul, she shoves a handful of personal items, clothes, and money in a bag and leaves without a single trace, taking Seong-ja with her.
Joong-ki spends the first two years mulling over what he could’ve done differently, if he could’ve said anything, could’ve picked out the signs. When those two years are up, and he decides Bora is definitely never coming back, he devotes fully, all of his love and adoration, onto Somi. It’s a blissful, occasionally challenging four more years before it all takes an ugly turn. Somi is seven, returning home with her father after her Mandarin lesson ( she’d shown such an affinity for languages, from such an early age, how could Joongki not be supportive of the fact? ), when he receives a call. He asks her to wait in her room, he’ll deal with the call then make dinner for them to enjoy, and she obliges, figuring she could occupy herself with some puzzle while everything gets ready. Food never comes, instead she’s met with the screams and cries of her father. She begs to know what’s going on, what’s wrong, but he’s in no state to speak. A few days later, a nice policeman explains to her, so, so kindly; her mother and sister where in a car accident in Daejeon. They were both killed on impact. Somi does not feel much other than worry for her father.
The following years after that night are some Somi would call rather normal. Her father was devastated, of course, and worried very much for his wellbeing, but she didn’t feel much attachment to neither her sister nor her mother. She develops her love for languages, going on to learn and become fluent in a handful and a conversationalist in others. Into her teenage years, she discovers a second and third affinity for makeup and martial arts, which her father feeds endlessly. “I would do anything for you,” he’d tell her, “I love you so much. I could never love anything more.” It’s fine, at first, and she was grateful, though she could’ve done without the constant reminders that he’d do anything, that he loves her more than anyone ever could. Without the reminders that she should always be grateful, because without him, so loving and kind, she’d never get to have what she had, and how she has everything she has because he allows it out of sheer love for her.
When she starts making friends, it starts to become a problem. She’s in a martial arts club, language club, she’s in school; Somi is a friendly, kind enough person to make an abundance of acquaintances and a little group of close knit friends. When they start wanting to hang out outside of school and clubs, when they invitations for parties and sleepovers start rolling in, her father becomes a bit more strict. He asks her how she expects him to let her go, when she’s always away doing her activities. He asks her why she would prioritize her friends over her time with him. He’d click his tongue and say no, because he’s her father and she lives under his roof and to never, ever forget that. Whenever she’d question his behavior he’d get upset, he’d tell her that she’s all he has, of course he gets protective. She decides that it’s a good enough excuse.
It goes on for years. She loses the bonds of her friendships, and her personality takes a more introverted turn. She becomes anxious, depressed. She’s learned to drink out of her father’s cabinet in order to relieve herself of the pressure. She’s a whole different person than who she used to be. It’s when she’s sitting on a bus, reading off of some pamphlet for identifying abused spouses an older woman gave her that she realizes she’s spent the majority of her life being emotionally abused. She cries and misses her stop.
When she’s seventeen and gathered enough money, she ditches her home, her father. Anger consumes everything she is, spite for having been manipulated and taken advantage of by the one person who claimed to love her the most. She’s reckless, makes friends in all the wrong places, pumps herself full of as much poison as she can get her hands on. She travels, but all she gets out of it are blurry, muddy memories, none standing out as particularly pleasant, a handful of near-death experiences tucked away under her belt. She’s eighteen and a half when she decides this wasn’t the life that was meant for her. She’s moves back to another section of Daegu, and calls in as many favors as she can. She gets help, people to care for her while helping to flush everything out of her system and get her back on her feet. Six months of working as a translator for a few friends and doing the makeup of the occasional friend-of-a-friend bride or fancy party-attendee, she’s happier than she’s been in years. A meteor shower is one of the nights she’s out and, for a moment, she finds herself blinded in the middle of a street. The next week, she’s had one of the oddest, scarily-vivid dreams she’s ever had. A month later, she feels like she’s losing every bit of her mind she’d been working so hard on piecing back together.
Three months after that, she’s caused a lot of damage, she’s gathered that light could bend to her will, if she’d get herself together. But it’s hard, she’s terrified, and she’s beginning to feel hopeless again when she’s reached out to and promised answers by people she’s never heard of before. Scared out of her mind, desperate for help, she goes with them.
POST-MUTATION
Two years after, Somi is a completely different person. Funnily enough, she used to believe she’d made some drastic change of lifestyles before, but none of it could ever compete to the change brought on by living for a year and a half in the arc. At first, she’d genuinely thought she’d finally lost her mind, and this was all some terrible fantasy brought on by some kind of psychosis. The staff of the arc take care of convincing her otherwise. They assure her that this is all very real, that the life she lives is very real, that her powers and the responsibilities they come with are, in fact, very real. It takes her a while to adjust, but she’s come to prefer the life she’s living above the rest she’s lived. She’s relearned to be more social, to allow herself to talk to people without anxiety creeping into her head. It generally helps that the group she’s with are individuals who, like her, suddenly got some abilities none of them were able to control. Levelheadedness and patience were, and continue to be, strengthened through the mandatory modules in the arc. Her abilities, while on occasion annoying and difficult to deal with, along with the arc and their missions have given her some type of meaning, goals she didn’t have before. However, despite her personality change, Somi continues to have walls surrounding her heart, unwilling to let herself be manipulated and abused again ( although she is not above using manipulation on her missions ). While friendly, she is private and doesn’t divulge too much, and only allows herself to trust her teammates at a ‘professional’ level. Cynicism and skepticism play large roles in who she is, even if she doesn’t make it obvious. Despite how much she enjoys her life in the arc, and how grateful they are for helping, in the back of her mind she remains suspicious and weary.

Hyperallergic: A Showing of Art World Solidarity on Inauguration Day
The #J20 Art Strike outside the Whitney Museum of American Art (all photos courtesy Noah Fischer)
A plan to parade missile launchers through the capital; a plagiarized Potemkin village of a trophy cake, sliced by two homophobes sharing the same sword; presidential rhetoric apparently drawn from Wrestlemania broadcasts, Batman movies, and Charles Lindbergh speeches — such moments from the recent US presidential inauguration somehow seemed both surreal and all-too-real. Within these unbelievable, unbelievably toxic conditions, many felt obliged to refuse any semblance of normality, thinking that to present even the appearance of consent would be to grant the Trumpist regime the legitimacy it so blatantly lacks. Such was the logic behind the call for the #J20 Art Strike, which was criticized by some as elitist or impracticable, but was intended to be interpreted broadly as an incitement to creative resistance. The objective was not to compel others into making a superficially radical gesture, but rather to help mobilize various arts communities toward a joint struggle against the normalization and legitimation of an unjust, hostile regime.
A similarly urgent sense of purpose also motivated the collective Occupy Museums, which organized a public speak-out as part of the Whitney Museum’s alternative programming on January 20th. The event was free (given the Whitney’s decision to implement pay-what-you-wish admission), and was timed to take place at the same time as the inauguration, thus functioning as a clear gesture of non-compliance. Like the art strike, the speak-out framed the day as a chance to break out of one’s everyday routine and to institute different orders of time, space, experience, and community. As some speakers remarked, many people felt a strong need to be together, to think and speak and plan together, and to do so in a place without a TV or a computer.
It was as if everyone knew what was about to happen and agreed that hate-watching the sham pageantry of the inaugural wouldn’t change anything, and would likely only make things feel worse. Instead, those present decided to commit themselves to a different kind of event, one grounded in acknowledging the coexistence of many intense and difficult emotions. This was as true of the speakers — a highly diverse group of about 30 artists, activists, arts professionals, and critics — as it was of the audience, which included a number of walk-ins, and ranged from students and organizers to tenured professors and Whitney staffers.
If I say that the event was unlike anything I’ve been a part of, I do so not to exaggerate but to try to render a feeling that I experienced strongly but have yet to fully understand. (I was one of the invited speakers, and am writing here from the standpoint of a participant-observer.) I hope that others who were lucky enough to be there feel similarly; I know that at least some do. There was a heightened attentiveness and receptivity in the room, and a palpable energy circulating between the speakers and one’s neighbors. There was also, at least for myself, the sense of a singular, highly charged moment. Perhaps that derived from the ominous sense that a terrible history was being made; it could also have stemmed from the fraught tension between the rage, disbelief, and powerlessness people brought into the room and the refuge and even enjoyment they found there. People were laughing, crying, laughing to keep from crying. At some moments it felt like a wake for the lost promise of the Obama years; at others, like an Occupy assembly or a Quaker meeting, or like the formation of the culture ministry of a government in exile.
There is plenty to say about the three dozen presentations, much more than this space allows for. Presenters were invited to speak about one relevant “value,” and reflected on such principles as inclusiveness, agency, accessibility, and solidarity. They did so in forms that ranged from anecdotes, meditations, and manifestos to poems, karaoke, and improv performances. Dread Scott produced a purpose-built “conceptual artwork”: a sign printed with the text “BY READING THIS, YOU AGREE TO OVERTHROW DICTATORS.” The presenters varied widely in their tone and style. Some spoke bravely from a place of vulnerability; others with the assurance and poise of practiced performers.
Dread Scott holds up his sign among crowds outside the Whitney Museum of American Art
Among the many memorable moments from those three hours are two that speak to this powerful variety of ideas, attitudes, and positions. The writer Pamela Sneed read a poem that moved through histories of oppression, citing Trayvon Martin, Steve Biko, and the Warsaw Ghetto rebellion. She rhythmically built her delivery with shouts, incantations, and hushed pauses, reaching a climax of almost unbearable intensity, her voice nearly breaking as she closed with the phrase “always uprising!” Immediately afterward, the artist Baseera Khan spoke softly but incisively about the tension between American, Islamic, and South Asian identities, and about the ambivalence that can leave one longing for inclusion, but fearful of it. She closed by sharing a moving recitation of a Muslim prayer, a simple, everyday act of devotion that has become highly politicized, even fraught. These two presentations exemplified the kind of relationship that any democracy worthy of that name must foster and protect — one between individuals who are incommensurable, but simultaneously interdependent and equal.
Speakers not only described the values we associate with democracy and resistance; they realized or enacted them, such that the event itself assumed a meaning greater than the sum of its parts. Far from serving as an excuse for self-pity or left melancholy, it functioned as an effective counter-inaugural: a ceremony marking the beginning of a wider commitment to shared struggle, and a chance to begin to think together about how best to operate within these new parameters of aesthetic and political practice. It was generally assumed that art cannot divorce itself from Trumpism, no matter how hard artists like Richard Prince might wish to do so. Rather, as the artist and activist Chitra Ganesh incisively pointed out, the same forces that brought Trump to power exist within the supposedly “sacrosanct” or autonomous precincts of art.
This means that the important question is not What sort of art should we make? or Will Trump somehow be good for art? or What should celebrities do? Instead, we should ask ourselves how to act in multiple capacities: first, as stakeholders in a democracy who oppose the ascendancy of an authoritarian, militaristic neo-fascism, regardless of our nationality or immigration status; second, as members of specific communities, whether local, institutional, or global; and third, as people whose affiliations with art endow us with particular abilities, privileges, and obligations. We need to understand what everyone can do and what we are best positioned to do; then we need to do these things. Most immediately, this means working together to combat the increased dangers that now threaten those who have been targeted by the new regime’s white suprematism, xenophobia, misogyny, homophobia, ableism, and nativism. Looking further into the future, it means grasping these new power relations in a way that allows us to effectively alter our strategies and tactics, and doing so in a way that successfully builds on the precedent of earlier aesthetico-political projects, while simultaneously coordinating new initiatives with ongoing ones.
The legacies of left cultural activism were poignantly manifested in talks by Martha Rosler, whose principled defiance of authoritarianism dates back to the Nixon era, and by Avram Finkelstein, who recounted how he learned to silkscreen from a classmate who wanted help duplicating posters from the French protests of May 1968, and how that laid the foundation for his later work with ACT-UP. These continuities gesture toward a broader and enduring history, one that stubbornly refuses to end. As Finkelstein emphatically put it, “no political action is futile, ever.”
Martha Rosler reads
A number of presentations offered concrete, perceptive insights regarding the tactics that cultural resistance might use in the months to come. One recurring theme was the strategic value of institutions like the Whitney, which are now potentially under threat, whether through federal defunding or the alt-right philistinism of Breitbart-incited e-harassment. Megan Heuer, Noah Fischer, and Mariam Ghani each spoke to this concern, which has recently inspired efforts to organize a national network of art institutions dedicated to the defense of democratic values. Another concern was the need for a particular kind of free speech, one that becomes necessary when democratic institutions are in crisis. As theorized by Michel Foucault, this requires a different order of commitment from the speaker, a kind of radical transparency or vulnerability. The artist and Whitney staff member Madison Zalopany thoughtfully broached this topic in her presentation, which critically questioned the ways that truth-telling depends on platforms and resources that are less accessible to people who lack certain privileges or fail to conform to normative standards.
A third tactic can be described by the rare but increasingly common term “ungovernability,” which might be understood as an effort to block the exercise and legitimation of state power wherever it is manifest; this might take the form of boycotts, strikes, and noncompliance, but also of symbolic negation (as in art) or the production of other values, desires, and spaces. Zoe Leonard’s text “I Want a President” can be read as a paean to ungovernability, as was clear in a compelling performance by the scholar Tavia Nyong’o, who read from a recent adaptation of Leonard’s text produced in a workshop as part of a public art project.
Simone Leigh reads
One question that wasn’t raised explicitly at the Whitney was how the ongoing crisis will impact the ways in which we make, view, and write or think about art. This was surely because so many people feel that art can wait, at least for now, but that the same isn’t true of the rights, lives, and dignity of those now threatened. While this is impossible to deny, the event nevertheless suggested potential paths to follow when the time is right. Speaking out against the exclusionary structures that traverse the art world, Chitra Ganesh noted that art is able to communicate with “a complexity that reality can’t take.” Not only does such complexity resist whatever forces might try to silence or reduce it; under the right conditions, it can also force reality itself to change. With this said, perhaps the most powerful takeaway from the speak-out was the way it exemplified a certain kind of collective labor. The individual presentations were coordinated but autonomous — interdependent in a way that acknowledged their own vulnerabilities as analogous but by no means identical. In this sense, they embodied the sort of mutual connection that we are likely to need moving forward: a solidarity that is impassioned, resilient, self-critical, fearless, and resolute.

Amen.

O VICTIM OF Salvation! ETERNAL KING! Incarnate Word! Sacrificed for us and all mankind! Precious Body of the Son of God! Amen.

PREPARATION FOR HOLY COMMUNION
Dear Jesus we ardently desire to receive You. The moment draws near, the rapturous moment in which we shall receive You our God, into our soul.
AT THE POST COMMUNION.
We give Thee thanks, O God, for Thy mercy, in admitting us to have a part in offering this sacrifice to Thy Holy Name ; accept it now to Thy glory, and be ever mindful of our weakness.

IN HONOR OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY.
PREPARATORY PRAYER.
Almighty and Eternal God! By this Holy Sacrifice at which we propose to assist in honor of Thy Holy and Immaculate Mother, the ever Blessed Virgin Mary.
We intend to render to Thy infinite Majesty an honor and a glory worthy of Thee, thus to appease Thy indignation, to satisfy Thy justice, to give Thee thanks in proportion to Thy benefits and to implore Thy mercies for ourselves and for all sinners, for all the faithful, living and dead, for Thy whole Church, and principally for its visible head, the Sovereign Pontiff of Rome- Pope Francis 1 and Pope Benedict xvi, all the Cardinals, all the Bishops, all the Deacons, all the Clergy, all the lay man and woman of this World, all the Holy Apostles of prayer, all the Priests in the World especially the Priests for life of Ewtn Church, and lastly for all poor schismatics, heretics, and infidels, that they may be converted and save their souls.
Most Holy Virgin Mother of the Incarnate Word, treasure house of Grace, and refuge of us, wretched sinners; with lively faith we have recourse to Thy Motherly love, and ask of Thee the grace of ever doing God's will and Thine. In Thy most Holy Hands we place our hearts, and of Thee we ask health of body and soul; and, as we have the sure hope that Thou our Loving Mother will hear us, we say to Thee;
Allow us to give your message through our mouth, allow us to caress your face, allow us to be your servant and allow us to live for you:
Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with Thee Blessed art Thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
By Thy pure and Immaculate Conception O Mary make our body pure and our soul Holy.
3x.

Offer petitions again and again for your selves, your kindred, your friends and acquaintances, ask help for all your needs both spiritual and temporal; ask also the fullness of all good, and relief from all evils for Holy Church; and do not ask any of these things with lukewarmness but rather with a great confidence, making sure that your prayers united with those of Jesus are indeed be heard.

Do justice on all their deaths. We dont want the third World War, please dont let us perish, we hope Israel won't be attack. Our World is so beautiful with You in it.
Amen.

Amen.
