sorry more west coast avengers posting, but like. while I am happy that they're taking ultron in this direction, I also can't help but feel so frustrated because it feels like marvel spent the past 9 years going several steps back with ultron, only to now arrive back at where they were with ultron literally in the 60s.

i'm so happy ultron's motivations and personality seems to align more with what he originally was like before hanktron/pymtron, but they're presenting ultron 'growing beyond hank pym' as something new when that was literally one of the first things ultron ever did

#like there is a reason the first ultron the avengers have to fight is ultron-5!#the motherfucker rebuilt himself several times upon being born because what hank built wasn't good enough #i know i've complained about this before but pymtron was SO reductive of ultron as a character #ultron was always about being ABOVE hank (and above humanity as a whole)#it made no logical sense at all for ultron to want to 'merge' with hank #someone he viciously hated and considered below himself #ultron randomly deciding to become naked janet made more sense to me than pymtron #i love rage of ultron but i really think the pymtron plot served no one but hank #and even then it was executed so poorly in almost every comic following rage of ultron that it ended up doing pretty much nothing for #hank's character as well #sorry to the pymtron enjoyers i mean no disrespect but i have simply missed my stupid evil robot so much
