I just think it's not fair that I love when food tastes good and I just. have fat genetics because like. I've technically started eating breakfast again because I need to eat when I take my meds and I can't help but think that I'm eating too much during the day now
like it's not fair that I get to feel guilty for literally doing things that are supposed to help make me feel better

been thinking about fatphobia in pcos online spaces and its interesting. because most posts will be like oh you can loose weight with pcos. and its entirely aesthetic. very little to do with health. most of those folks actually never look into the connection. the approach is well pcos makes me gain weight and i feel bad but if i can loose weight that means im loosing a symptom. I see lots of folks say its a relief. and it was a relief to me to find out what was going on bc my body was changing and few items of clothing fit me.
but the real pcos and weight connection is double. bc its a given that if the pcos is making you insulin resistant that you gain weight. but those fat cells release hormones. so you’ve got fat, cysts and your regular hormone system all releasing hormones into you trying to balance things out. AND your brain don’t release FSH. so you will just end up with more cysts on your ovaries. you can’t loose weight with pcos without medication and suppliments. the reason diet change is recommended is because of insulin issues.
but bc of prevalent fatphobia ppl see diet as meaning restriction. when really the diet should be a re-balancing of foods to cater to your needs. the diet change should not center weight loss. weight loss actually comes with your hormones being slowly regulated and medication to combat insulin resistance. you need specific meds for that.
its sad that being fat is seen as a personal failure rather than just a thing you can be. yes it can be a symptom of various illnesses but healthy fat is also a thing. but bc folks cant wrap their minds around fat being healthy and normal they have a complicated relationship with fluctuations in weight an attack fatness that comes with pcos rather than the internal bits that matter more.
