I feel like I don't write very much.
I write a little bit here and there, usually when I'm trying to go to sleep. This is a pattern of mine - I have a bunch of "scenarios" files that just have a collection of different scenarios with my characters. All but one of them were started and finished last year, with the current one only having a little more to go.
I have twenty-one of these files in total. They're no-pressure and if I'm not vibing with the one I'm writing, then I drop it and move to another one. I don't even work on them consistently, there's no routine or anything.
Just last month or so, though, I realised just how many of these things there are.
Scenarios 1 has 20 scenarios.
Scenarios 2 has 15.
The rest all have 10, with the exception of Scenarios 21, which is unfinished and has 9.
There are 21 Scenario files in total. There are 254 scenarios. I started this specific series of scenarios in March last year. It feels fucking wild.
I always feel a little bad about how much I write because in 6th grade I managed the insane feat of writing close to 300 pages in like 6 months, but this isn't really all that fair on me. I spent all of my time from when I got home to when I went to sleep working on that fanfic, and I don't really do that anymore. 6th grade me set an extremely unfair standard on current me that I always feel like I have to fulfill when that kid just literally had nothing else they wanted to do, but now I have a lot of things I want to do and a lot of different stories I'd like to tell.
I'm considering seeing what the page count on all those scenarios looks like, because the way they're organised right now is, to my mind, functionally the same as 21 pages, even though it is most certainly more than that.

3, #8, #22 and #40 Weird Questions for Writers
Thanks, love!!
3. What is your writing ritual and why is it cursed?
I don't really have too much of a writing ritual, per se...I just write whenever I can. I guess the only other thing I do with my Bad Batch fic is rewatch whatever episode is next in the story to make sure I get lines right and know how to describe certain scenes.
8. If you had to write an entire story without either action or dialogue, which would you choose and how would it go?
I would definitely go with dialogue. Half the time, I come up with dialogue first when I write and then fill in the gaps. I'm much better at that than action.
22. How organized are you with your writing? Describe to me your organization method, if it exists. What tools do you use? Notebooks? Binders? Apps? The Cloud?
Long time ago, I used to write a lot in notebooks, but then I almost got caught with my writing stuff at work and I didn't want to risk getting in trouble. It was nothing bad, I just didn't want them to think I was doing that instead of working (I'd only write once my other tasks were finished) So now, I just write everything on my phone or the computer. I used to use ColorNote, but then I switched to just writing everything on Google Docs. Seems to work the best.
40. Please share a poem with me, I need it.
This is actually an original poem of mine that actually was picked as a finalist in a poetry competition and ended up published in a poetry book (I can't remember what it's called, it was years ago 😅) It's also something I wrote for an original novel I wrote.
Melodies of Heaven
Calm your troubled mind.
Melt, it will, this icy hold over you.
Hearken to my soft, sweet lullaby,
and I will lead you through.
Bloom of roses, songs of doves,
ballad of a Harper shall hold sway here;
breeze of autumn, dew of spring,
peace now be yours, my dear.
Seraphim pow’r heal you from shadow,
melodies of Heaven above,
save this burdened, frightened child
and free their soul with eternal love.
Weird Questions for Writers (because writers are weird)

helo hi about those weird questions for fic writers!! sorry for so many but I couldn't decide 😂✊
please just pick your favorites if it's too many BUT: 4, 10, 22, 25, 26, 32, 35 for the weird writers asks 💜
Hiii! <3 Lmfao, it's no problem, I enjoy it. Thanks for asking! :')
4. What’s a word that makes you go absolutely feral?
"appreciate". I don't really know why, I just like how it sounds and looks, I suppose, jhskfhjskh---
10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?
Oh, yeah. Literally all my fanfics from when I was 13/14 because OOF. Not Good. No. And I don't just mean that in the objective way, as they were written poorly, sure; but I also mean that they were something I wouldn't write today. So, when my own writing haunts me, I feel embarrassed and ashamed of it, that's what it means for me.
22. How organized are you with your writing? Describe to me your organization method, if it exists. What tools do you use? Notebooks? Binders? Apps? The Cloud?
So, I use Google Doc and Microsoft Word on my laptop, such as the Google Doc and ColorNote app on my phone, depending on it. Or I simply write in Tumblr already if it's just a headcanon post. I'm not usually organised. All my fics are only categorised by actor or character. So all fics of one actor are in one document (Paul Dano has 200 pages now). In terms of writing, I let it go with the flow, which is why it sometimes just runs away from me. But my own stories that I know will be longer have an outline by now, so I don't forget what the plot was (because it happened before and now I'm paying the price by being stuck, rip).
25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?
Oof, good question. Difficult question. I can’t come up with anything truly hyper-specific, but: Alastair loves dark chocolate and still eats it; even though he technically shouldn't, considering he's a vampire and doesn't normally eat human food anymore. (At least you know him, everyone else reading this is gonna be confused, djksdksg.)
32. What is a line from a poem/novel/fanfic etc that you return to from time and time again? How did you find it? What does it mean to you?
"Nur dadurch lebt der Mensch, dass er so gründlich Vergessen kann, dass er ein Mensch doch ist." '2. Dreigroschenfinale - Wovon lebt der Mensch?' von der Dreigroschenoper von Bertolt Brecht und Kurt Weill.
English Translation (kind of official? Taken from Alan Cumming singing it): "This life is possible because most humans Avoid the sight of their own frying pans." ‘How Do Humans Live’ from the Threepenny Opera (Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill).
I just love, love, love the Threepenny Opera and this line makes me feel a lot of things. Because it's true. And it stays true, unfortunately. And I feel like this line especially formed the way I view the world and humanity, which is something I feel like I explore a lot in my stories by making them so character-driven. Hopefully that makes sense.^^”
35. What’s your favorite writing rule to smash into smithereens?
Honestly, I have no idea. Maybe that everything has to have a clear plot? That there have to be descriptions and what-not? After all, I rely more on emotions, impressions, dialogue and such things. Hm.

The Ultimate Packing Checklist (For your weekend trips, treks and travels)
Tumblr media
If you are here right now, I am sure you have watched my video and needed a quick checklist to go through before you leave to live that VACAY life. It is 1 am and i am writing out this post today because 1. It’s about time i release the video and 2. I too, need a easily accessible checklist to go through 20 minutes before my trip (like you saw, I am a devout supporter of the last minute hacks)
Soooooo, lets get to it!
MAJOR TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Cash/Card (Don’t forget to stop by the ATM if your travel is more rural and you need hard cash)
Mask + Sanitizer (That COVID season)
TOILETRIES:

How I stay productive in the long-term/goal keeping for beginners
Hello! I’m sure many of us here on the writeblr and studyblr communities are familiar with the idea of monthly challenges - be it NaNoWriMo, 30 days of productivity, #1month1language, you name it, and many of us use them to stay focused on our work. I’d like to introduce a method for applying this to larger aspects of life. I originally took this idea from writer Jenna Moreci @countblogula, who posted Youtube videos of her “Quarterly Writing Goals” and decided to adapt it for my own needs. For me, a quarter is too long - I’d get distracted, and the gratification of “winning” is few and far between just by virtue of how long the period is. A weekly to-do list is too short because it fills up so quickly and then I feel bad for not getting “enough” done, and I loved NaNo so monthly goals it was, and they’ve worked fantastically.
Read how it works below the cut..
1) Go to the notes app on your phone and open up a new checklist. Preferably something that lets you mark off entries. Google Tasks and Colornote are the two that I use, but any app would really work.
2) Start listing goals, but they should probably follow this set of rules:
No putting on obligations. You have to do your homework, chores, and other general tasks and that doesn’t count as a goal
No habit building. Get a habit tracker for that. You will inevitably lose your streak and not be able to mark off this goal and that will get discouraging after a while.
Try to include things to keep you well rounded - read 2 books, get up to 20 push-ups, finish editing chapter 4, and apply for 3 scholarships would all be good examples
Make sure they can actually be completed in a month
3) Assemble a list of 20-30 goals. I’m telling you right now that you will not accomplish all of them. This is ok. Write them down anyway. Move onto step 4.
4) Pin the list to your notifications bar. Set a reminder for every day at 8:00am. Write it down on a whiteboard and put it on a mirror in your bathroom. Bujo it. Make sure you won’t be able to ignore it.
5) Honestly, this is optional but I highly recommend doing it anyway - Tell someone. Get an accountability friend. Make a deal with your room-mate/parent to do extra chores if you don’t win. Publish it on the internet. As Jenna says, “public humiliation is a great motivator.”
5) Go to work. You have a month, and therefore a flexible schedule. You don’t have to accomplish it all at once, or one/day. Do them when you have time to work on them and mark them off as you go. They’re small and attainable and finishing one may give you the motivation needed to keep going.
6) At the end of the month, count up how many goals you finished. If you’ve completed half of them or half plus a margin of 1-4, CONGRATULATIONS! YOU WON! Go treat yourself and make a new list. If not, or you completed all/almost all of them, continue to Step 7.
7) Reassess. Honestly, everyone should be doing this, but try to figure out where you went wrong. Were the goals too easy? Unattainable? So vague that you kept mentally moving the benchmark until you didn’t mark it off at all? Too specific? Did you make too many? Too few? Troubleshoot and try again for next month.
I hope this helps you with your productivity this month! I have been doing this since early 2018, I think, and it’s honestly so gratifying and useful to see how much you’ve got done - I know I’ve been a lot more productive for it. Very soon, I am going to start publishing my monthly goals lists for another sense of accountability and to share the encouragement with all of you, so keep a lookout for that. Good luck with this challenge!

August 3rd, 2018
18:54: Jms- Dude. There’s something about Jaxon. Like, something I just gotta write about and put into permanence. Let me tell you how I led to this whole train of thought.
So we’re currently in the car, heading down to Ohio for the week. It’s the new one that only Pabu can drive, so there’s three rows of seats. It’s just G, J squared, and I tho.So G is in the passenger seat next to Pabu, JJ are in the middle together with their row of 3 seats, and I get my one seat in the back with the luggage and, honestly?, I kinda like it like this. G loves her passenger seat, and Pabu gets someone next to him. JJ get their cuddle space together, and I get total independence over the back. It’s not bad. So I’m leaning up against the luggage cause I had been napping (read Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda till I was tired :p) n I rolled over a bit. My head is propped up by Beary-O so I just look over at my legs crossed up on the seat, in Jax’s black n orange boy shorts. I got my grey tank top with the cat in sunglasses on it on. My body hair is noticeable, as well as a pretty strong tan, and my upper arm honestly isn’t in the worst shape anymore. And I was thinking trying to say I looked like a boy, but not just a boy. So I said a cute boy, cause that’s what I’ve always said. A cute little boy, cause I still looked feminine. But now things are different. And I said no, I’m not gonna go with that anymore. So I said I looked like a hot boy. Hot boy in tank and shorts, skinny with a strong tan. I’m a good looking guy. Even with the messy ruffled hair. I’d say I looked hot. And then I thought about how I never use hot. I never have. I’ve never really thought of anything legitimately as “hot”. Like, I’ve used the word. But like I used it cause they were situations where I felt like I had to. I never really felt strongly for the term, as I never really perceived anything as hot. But like, then Jax came along. And he used that word. I’m not saying like he uses the word constantly or anything. I dunno. Like, we do stuff. N we would be doing stuff and god it feels so much different than before. Everything is so different. It’s all good. Everything is okay in the moments I’m with him. It doesn’t feel wrong or guilty anymore either, cause I can freely call him my boyfriend (July 24 :p) everything just feels right. It feels okay. Happy. Better. And so we were doing stuff and ahrhdg man you can just tell it’s legit with everything he does. I mean yeah I still get those paranoid thoughts, I still get anxious, I always will. But I honestly feel like I can just push them away with him. I can trust him. And he says stuff like that when we do stuff, he says I’m hot and stuff, but like the way he says it and when he says it I just feel like it’s right. I mean agh I’m not saying he’s right I’m not conceited. I’m just saying it feels right. It feels like it’s supposed to, y’know? And like we were walking the other day, we both had on skinny jeans and band t-shirts and beanies. I was recording him with my new camera (I lost the footage :(((((((() and like honestly ? I can say he looked ... hot?? Like legit. There was feeling behind it where just it was legit and I knew I meant it. He looked hot. I ain’t ever used that word but I know for a fact that it applies to him damnit. Honestly everything just feels legit with Jax. Like, I trust him. And I actually trust him. Like I trust him trust him. Like yeah I love him, and god I know that, I love him so god damn much. But I can definitely say that I am attracted to him. 100%. All of him. Everything he does is just oh my god, y’know?
God I know how to word it all but like I don’t It’s just like ???? everything ???? feels ???? legit ???? Everything is just YES my man honestly. Like let me give you some examples as I remember them all. There was when I was feeling bleh about family stuff happening and I didn’t wanna talk about it cause I felt annoying always talking about it, I felt like I was complaining. Cause like we were lying down and he was trying to get me to talk, to open up. And he’s said he feels guilty about how mush he pushed but honestly I am really glad he did. I don’t remember what I said, but I said something and sat up n he say up and just the wwaayy that he looked at me. If this boy was acting then damn he deserves an Oscar cause like oof. I don’t even remember what he said but that mixed with just the honest look like his whole face was in it. Just concern and worry and caring and legitimately wanting to hear me open up and wanting me to be okay. You could see it in his eyes and his eyebrows and his mouth and just his face and hdhd his eeyyeess and my wall just crumbled and when we layed back down yeah I started off slow just saying some details but then I just let it all spill everything that was going on and all the worries I had with my family and it just felt good to just talk to him and tell someone the stuff that I keep just locked away in my head and just speak the truth. And just whenever anything happens, anything that he thinks he’s done to inconvenience me or whenever something seems to bother me, the way he just goes into this one voice. He has this voice that just happens every time and it’s just soft and gentle and calming and he’s saying it’s okay and god you just believe him because with him there everything really is okay, everything is alright. Problems melt away when you hear his voice. God, I love when he goes on rambles. And wow, does he ramble. If something is clearly upsetting me he just holds me and he talks. And he just talks and talks and talks. And it helps, I just sink into his chest, his warmth (god he’s so warm) and I feel his heart and I can feel when he speaks in a rumble in his chest right at the top and he just speaks and everything in the world just goes away and it’s just me and him and the rest of life doesn’t matter and everything is just okay and I can hold onto him and just listen and I can’t seem to find my voice I can never say any words cause I’m just lost in his and god this is so cheesy it’s like describing something in a book but it’s actually my life now when I’m with him it’s reality.
God I’ve been talking about this boy for almost an hour now. I didn’t even say a lot of the thoughts I was thinking before I started writing them down.
Honestly dating is just about finding the right person. I was so down about it before. Going through that kind of breakup, watching my parents divorce unfold, watching friends relationships go in and out, I just didn’t believe in any of it. But honestly? I think it really is just finding the right person. Cause even through all of this, I’ve been watching Jazzy and Josh too, my man. Like legit, bro, goals. They really are. They are such goals where yeah it’s clingy but not lovey dovey clingy it’s just like, right, y’know? Like it’s the relationship that just feels right even when yer not the one in it and you can’t be without it in yer life.
21:40: Jms- And I dunno I think I feel that way with Jaxon. Even in the beginning, everything just clicked. Legit I’ve never felt like I was friends with someone so fast. He was just instantly so easy to talk to. And even the first time we actually hung out, I didn’t feel like I had to hide anything. Sure, I was completely oblivious to him liking me at all, but I didn’t feel like I had to hide any part of me, I could just be myself.
I don’t know. Maybe I’m just over thinking things. I’m writing all this after reading a book, and while thinking of him, so maybe I’m just describing things in that magical fantasy book way of writing. Maybe it’s all how I actually feel. I guess you’ll never know ;p
21:45: Jms- I think I’m gonna stay up tonight transferring this writing into my Dragon Journal (DJ :D might change it to Script Journal tho cause it sounds cool). Cause I’m currently writing this all originally just on me phone on colornote cause I was having many a thoughts about the boy and needed to get them out fast. And I can definitely type faster than I can write in Script.
I’m not really in that big whole thinking process that I was in earlier cause we had to swap into my Grams car n I don’t get my little world all to myself anymore (now sitting in the middle seat with G). Still, wanna keep talkin tho just cause talking to myself is nice. The games on my phone would use up too much battery and it’s too dark to read. Unless I use my phone as a light that is. I light do that. I dunno yet. I like this book.
I was thinking about the book and that led to thinking about Jax and I really like just hugging him and being with him. I really wanna hug the boy and just lay with his warmth. I miss him already. My brain is just realizing how long it really is gonna be till I can see him again and that is not at all a happy feeling, my man. A week of just messaging.

i dont have any like. legit tips but here we go tbh what I usually do is just listen to songs and see if they give me feels or hints as to whats going on w a character and then interpret that in any way i can?? that usually helps most of the time i will just look at the characters personality and try to think what could have happened to make them be like that. A lot of times they will just tell you themselves this is a process too, it takes time for it to happen. from my own experience if you try to build something up and force it that will just come back to bite you in the ass later (ej. whats happened eith adri and qb. ive remade them A LOT especially lately bc i need to learn to listen) but yea tbh putting characters in situations and seeing how they react might give u a surprise or two tbh these r by no means professional tips or anything its just what ive found to work im sure there's ppl out there that will use regular writing methods and research for this, like you would do for worldbuilding but it hasn't worked for me yet and as for apps i use this one called colornote (on google play) for my phone and then the regular notes app on my computer (mac) colornote is really simple but its pretty lightweight and holds up rly well with text walls, tbh the only thing thats missing is the option to group your notes in custom folders

What Is Google Keep?
Google Keep is a note-taking app that is a fraction of Google’s G-Suite which is available on your device through its browser as well as on phones as a separate app. With Keep, you can take notes, make lists, and store images by typing, speaking, or drawing. An amazing fact is that Keep can also convert your handwritten notes into text. Along with this, it is a cloud-based service, hence, all of your notes will be saved with your Google account, automatically syncing across your devices.
Tumblr media
What Makes Google Keep So Useful?
Google Keep has a big advantage over the color-coded notes in ColorNote Notepad. This is because Keep syncs notes across all devices, while on ColorNote you need to manually backup your notes to transfer them between your PC and mobile phone. Other note-taking apps such as Note Reminder – Easy Notify lack Google Keep’s ability to add images and drawings to notes. Also, ColorNote and Note Reminder are not available for iOS.
What Can Google Keep Do?
Google Keep proposes a broad variety of helpful features which are as follows:
1. Dictate Notes
You can tap the Google Keep microphone to speak your notes and Keep will transcribe as you speak.
2. Take a Photo and Capture Text
Click a photo with your phone’s camera and Keep will find any text in the image while transcribing the image to text with the help of Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
3. Create a Checklist
You can turn your note into a checklist with a toggle switch that adds small checkboxes in front of each note. This will allow you to cross items off your list.
4. Draw a Note
With Keep’s pen icon you can draw images or write notes using different colors, with thick and thin line options.
5. Assign a Due Date
You can also put a reminder or a date to your note. This will automatically appear on your Google Calendar.
6. Search and Organize Your Notes
Keep allows you to label your notes and/or use colors to create categories of notes. This way, you can search your notes by tag, color, or keyword to find a specific note you need.
7. Location Reminders
You can set Keep to send you a reminder when you reach a specific location by adding an address. Suppose you have a note to ‘Buy milk’, you will receive a notification when your device recognizes you are near the grocery store. For this feature to work, the location of the device must be turned on.
8. Bookmark Web Pages
You can copy text from a web page and create a note. Keep will save the URL and any copied content you highlighted from the page.
9. Expand a Note Into a Google Doc
Suppose you are writing a note and it gets too long, you can convert this note into a Google Doc. All you need to do is just click on ‘Copy to Google Docs’ option to instantly add all content from a note, including text, images, and drawing into a new Google Doc.
10. Pin Important Notes
Save your time from searching for notes by pinning the important notes on top of the Keep desktop. You can archive the notes you think you may need someday and delete notes you no longer need.
11. Collaborate With Google Keep
You can also share a note with a group for Keep to automatically sync everyone’s activity. For example, you can share your household grocery list with your family and every member will have the ability to add and cross off items as they are purchase.
Google Keep’s Limits
There is no monthly limit on how many notes you can create with Google Keep each month but, each note has a character limit of 20,000 characters.

Writing Apps for the Phone
(Note: I have android, so I can only mention ones I like from that, but I know iphone has their own version of all of these kinds of apps)
Notepad: So that anywhere you are, you have a place to jot down at ideas, quotes, phrases, etc. A lot of the time, I think of a great idea when I’m out and about with no pen and paper. Most phones come with one. I usually just use Colornote.
Productivity Tracker: If you’re the kind of person that likes to see progress and check things off and find that that helps you stay on track, I might recommend an app that tracks your productivity. The one I use is called Planner Pro. It has a calendar for events, a to do list, and a section for notes. Very thorough.
If you like to see how your day is broken down, to see where and how you’re spending your time, there’s an app called aTimeLogger where you can log how much time you spent doing various activities. I personally did it once and found interesting to see, but I don’t want or need to do it daily. Just thought I’d mention it if you want to analyze your life…
Dictionary/thesaurus: Self-explanatory. I just find it helpful to have in your reach.
Character planner: It’s a place for you to write and think about various aspects of your characters. The one I like is very appropriately named Character Planner. It’s pretty thorough and easy enough to use.
App Blocker: And finally, an app to cut you off from your phone…Because honestly, a phone is more likely to distract than help. You can also do this for the computer, by the way. There are more apps that have the capability of cutting you off from your phone. The two I like are:
Flipd: blocks access for period of time….And there is NO getting out of it. More “hard core” in my opinion.
QualityTime: It’ll give you reports on how much you use certain apps. Really interesting to know. It’ll also allow you to set restrictions, with either scheduled breaks (where it’ll turn off a certain time for a certain amount per day) or with the “take a break feature” where you basically can “unplug” from your phone at any point. I like this app the most because of how much control and how many options you have. Really great. If nothing else, I recommend an app like this…

get your life in check... with check lists
Sometimes, keeping up with plans or responsibilities can be tough, not to mention building up and keeping a rouine and maintaining healthy habits.
Check lists and to-do-lists can be a big help, but you probably don’t have paper and a pen ready always. But you most certainly have your smart phone on you all the time. And yes, there are apps for this kind of things. After some searching I found decent list/habit forming apps which could be helpful on the way on recovery (because believe me, having a good daily routine and getting things done can be wonderful for your mental health.)
The following apps are all for Android, because I only own a pleb phone, but if an iPhone/Windows Phone user knows similar apps feel free to add those!
LIST - To do list Easy to use to spontanously write things down you need to do. You can add due-dates and have multiple lists and when you accomplished your task, just swipe it away and feel good.
SimpleShoppingList Want to save some money? Want to manage your finances? This app is for you. You can just put in your grocery list, or make several other lists for projects or bigger things you need, complete with prices and other meta-data (you don’t have to add those but it’s nice to have). Same deal as the first app, when you bought something, just swipe it away.
ColorNote Notepad Adding sticky notes on your phone background. I used to stick actual notes into my phonecase but with this app it’s become way easier. I use this for when I don’t want to put it into my to-do-list and just need a reminder. Great if you have bad memory, because you definitely will look at your phone screen, so sticking a note on there with something important will help you, I promise.
HabitBull Now with this one I’m not so sure but it’s good to have an overview over some of your new habits you want to cultivate. You can track five habits for free and it’s pretty straight forward and simple to use (and you can deactivate the cheesy motivational pictures too, don’t worry) Diary - Mood Tracker Very good to track your mood, because even if you’re as depressed as you can be, you will probably still fill in your mood for the day. It’s very easy to use and only takes pushing two buttons to do every day. If you want you can costumize it and add activities you did that day and the app automatically does the monthly statistics for you and you can correlate certain activities with moods. (The activities are costumizable as well).
Additional tipp: Set yourself alarms for when you want to do certain things, so you don’t forget to do them!
These are all the apps I’ve tried and liked so far, I hope they will be helpful for you too.

What writing application do you use? And how do you post fics properly on tumblr? Should I start writing on AO3 and then publish the link on tumblr?
Hey there!
I use Microsoft Word for writing on my laptop, and when I use my phone to write, I use an app called Colornote, which allows you to colour code your notes/stories.
To post fics on Tumblr, just copy the text of your fic, make a new text post, and paste. Format it so that it’s double spaced, and it’s usually polite to your followers to put a “keep reading” break in there somewhere (the option to insert this will be in the post formatting) so that if they’re not reading it yet, they can easily scroll past. Tag it accordingly, etc.
I started writing on AO3 first, but you can do it either way. Tumblr is a great way to get direct feedback, as I find a lot more people in your fandom see your fic more quickly if it’s on tumblr. I don’t know, not many people are leaving comments lately on AO3?? :( But if you do eventually post there, you can share the link directly to your tumblr so your followers can read and bookmark your fic there too.
Depending on the story, I either post it on both tumblr and AO3, or one of the two. For my short, smutty reader insert fics, I tend to choose tumblr (tumblr users seem to appreciate them more) and for my multi-chaptered, third person book-like fics, I use AO3, so it’s easier for people to navigate and access. If I’ve got a good compilation of tumblr stories though, I sometimes make a big dump fic on AO3 that’s sort of like a collection of them (just to keep me sane and organized haha).
Hope this helps! Shoot me anymore questions if you’ve got them :)
